[Q] urgent problem with rooted phone, can't get mobile connectivity. please help!! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi experts, im in a real pinch here so ill just state my prob below.
ok so today i rooted my android phone (xperia arc- lt15i, on firmware 2.3.4) and installed titanium backup, with the intention of clearing away bloatware that came bundled with the phone. I did a backup of my whole phone with the app before proceeding.
but being the idiot that i am, i accidentally deleted something called "voicemail ..." (can't remember what comes after that). now it is gone from titanium backup completely.
the thing is after i did that i immediately lost my phone connectivity (can't make calls out/3G etc) and whenever i go to settings>wireless&network settings> mobile networks, the phone crashes, with the option of 'force close'.
but wifi and the other functions of the phone still work. i tried restoring via titanium but it still doesn't work because the file was deleted.
desperate for a solution, i tried a hard reset but the problem still remained, and strangely after the reset i lost control of my middle, hard home button.
sorry for the long post, but i really hope someone can share any ideas that they have, anything really. thanks so so much.

Try to repair it using PC Companion. But: read on it first, as I don't know if something will happen to your phone because it's rooted.
If I helped you, please consider clicking the Thanks button.

Use a software called "SEUS" (Sony Ericsson Update Service... or something like that) it's a program that updates/repairs your phone completely. But it also deletes ALL data! If your problem is only because of the software, this will help you for sure

[Q] Optimus T stops functioning after rooting

I recently purchased an Optimus T and rooted it with z4root and then installed Titanium Backup to delete some of the preinstalled apps, like the Pacman Demo.
As I was removing each app, (~5 at this point) the Home button suddenly stopped working, followed by total phone death. Even after factory reset, when I was trying to access the phone, eventually I was shown a "... setup.exe stopped responding..." (or something like that) message and my phone just stayed stuck on the booting screen (android) every time I restart (w/o entering factory reset).
Does anyone have any ideas, or know which apps can prevent the phone from booting properly? A list of safe apps to delete would be helpful too. I thought I was pretty cautious with removing only non essential apps, but it seem bricked. Thanks again!

About list off apps, I have to agree. Even it there is litle problem with dependencies, some minimum describe of these issue will be great!!
So, about your problem - I think, that you will have to download original ROM and do flashing with KDZ_FW_UPdater. (search on xda for more information).
But definitely, if it's possible I would try to install custom recovery throw adb shell (android SDK tools) and do backup of system for possibility to recovery or saving at least few data, and after try wipe and install one of custom ROM.
This happened to me after I tried deleting preinstalled apps on my Optimus One... Sent it in for repairs since it just stopped working. The tech guy said he did a "software update" and everything is good as new (except for the LGMITS error once in a while)
They didn't even bother trying to fix mine. They just told me to send it in and gave me a replacement.
So I finally figured out what I did wrong - basically when I was doing the deleting, I accidentally deleted the LG Home app, which effectively deactivated my (duh) home button and effectively stopped everything from functioning properly. For some reason I thought it was just a simple link from my phone directly to the LG website, as would happen with new PCs very often. Well... won't be doing THAT again.
However, my web2go button isn't working. I have to force quit every time I try to click on it. Can I just get rid of it or will it just give me more trouble later on?
At least you knew what went wrong with yours... I was just erasing CarHome and Layar and the LG App Adviser among other things i wont be using like Twitter and Latitude.
And they even gave you a new one x__x I had to wait 5 days before everything was good as new. After the first fix, USB debugging and mass storage stopped working so I sent it in for another "software update"...

Cant call, text or recive calls

Here is what happend:
So this is my sisters phone and Im trying to fix it for her. The phone was locked when our little sister failed to open it too many times (my sister had the graphical lock enabled). My sister then took it to a phone store which managed to fix the lock (updating it from 1.6 to 2.1) but in the same process they somehow managed to make the phone block calls and text. They told her that it had "been blocked"..?
She after that she cant send or receive texts, cant make or receive calls but she can surf via 3G.
What is wrong?
Here is what I've tried:
I'm a big andriod noob since Im a iphone user but I can use google and I've jailbreaked/unlocked iphones many times.
So I've tried both to re-flash (with flash tool) the phone and to restore it with SEUS. None worked. First after using the Flash tool the phone got stucked in a boot-loop. At this points I tried SEUS but it would just get stuck and then tell me that the restore had failed. At last I managed to get back into a working phone when I went down to 1.6 using ROOT_F3V3 (I dont know if I did the whole flash procedure right but right but when it was done the phone started fine but the text and call issues persisted). So then I tried SEUS again and this time it worked so now I got a fully updated and restored phone. BUT STILL: it cant text, make or receive calls. Is there any next step? Any method which I haven't tried yet? I stumbeled upon something called xRecovery. Could that help me? Or is the phone pretty much bricked...
Please help me

I dont know how it's called, in english because my phone is in dutch. But somewhere there you can choose manually a network.

Facing a really annoying problem of automic rebooting. Badly need HELP!

I am facing a very annoying problem: my x10 mini(unrooted) automatically gets restarts.
Some of the days it works fine. But once it gets restarts then it restarts atleast 3-4 times a day. I have tried to reinstall the android firmware but still the problem prevails. I keep the phone memory at 21-22MB level, is the problem because of this( But I want to tell you 1 thing that I bought the phone in november and in feb end my phone was not switching on ,then I went to SE service centre they reinstalled the firmware and the problem was solved. Since then I am facing the problem of rebooting, before that it worked fine. I used to keep the phone memory around 2mb in the initial days of purchasing and it worked fine even in 2mb so I guess low phone memory is not a problem. I rooted my phone in november but when service centre employee reinstalled the firmware then I lost rooting.i.e. Now my phone is unrooted). Can the problem be because of SIM card or SD Card(corrupt files which I am aware of) or it is because of some other reason?
I dont want to go to the service centre because I feel that they will just reinstall the firmware which I already have done. It would be great if you could tell me any solution. If not the solution then a user friendly and so technical language using app which show the log of my phone so that I can figure out what happens in the system. But I really want a solution. Please guys help! Hope you guys would bring all your experience into play and help me.

Well ..people will need some more specific info ..like are you on the latest SE update ? what programs did u install (seems u did install quite a few as ur phone memory is ~22 MB ). Anything you noticed when it reboots ? Like while doing some operation or running something in particular when this reboot happens ?
Why dont you do a fresh flashing of the latest update through SEUS (not PC companion) and then just stick to the stock ROM (without installing anything else) for 7-10 days and see how it behaves ?
You can always take a backup of ur essentials like SMS and contacts (if you are not syncing ur contacts with google ) before you flash using SEUS.
There are ways to check the logs (using logcat ) but not sure how much effective it might be as u might not be in a position to check logs everytime when your phone reboots.
Hope this helps. Really there was very less inputs available for giving any solution.
I am having the latest android firmware. I updated the android firmware by downloading a firmware file avaible on the sony's website, I don't know what it is called but I surely didn't used pc companion for updating. There is no specific app which I am using when it restarts.
I will give any necessary info which will help you to suggest a solution.

you cannot just download a firmware from SE site ..it can be done only by two ways one via PC companion and the other by SE Update service. (SEUS)
And yes , it would be better to reflash through SEUS . It does seem that you have installed lots of things ..better forget them now and just use the stock ROM from SE.

well that was pretty pathetic from them...ehh have you gone into the search tool bar on top of the forum to see if there are more threads regarding kies?
sure, i have searched xda and also web using uncle google
could you pls (or someone else) try to backup your e.g. contacts and then restore (only if you are able to continue (not necessary to click next button)
edit:
i tried to install kies_win_v1.5.3.10103_102 but this was too old version not supported my phone, so i tried Kies 2.0.0.11014_49 and in this version I was able to restore my contacts (unfortunatelly not calendar, sms, mail setting etc). I will have to wait for fully functional version of Kies to restore all my data.
The last version of Kies (Kies_2.0.3.11082_152_2) has bug
I have the same problem. I noticed it after first flashing my phone with the android 2.3.5 firmware (which wiped the phone), then going back to a previous firmware. As far as I know the phone version is correct now. I could update to the latest official firmware through Kies, but after that I can't restore any personal data and settings from the backup I made in Kies before starting to flash the phone.
I thought it might be from the flashings it didn't work. But maybe it is just a badly written software (Kies). I really hope a new version comes soon.
/Michael
I finally found version 2.0.2.11071 here: http://www.soft82.com/get/download/windows/samsung-kies/
After uninstalling the newest version of Kies and installing this one instead I now at least got the option to restore everything, including personal data and settings.
I am restoring right now, so I can't yet confirm that it actually works. But I'm getting some hope back.
Well, it worked... sort of.
Contacts weren't an issue for me since I only have Google contacts, but I wanted call logs and messages back, which I got. I think contacts would work as well.
But the process was a bit strange. I selected to restore everything. When the restoring process was running a green check mark was placed over each item that was finished (as expected). When the last item was finished I got a red cross over each item instead and a message telling me I have have aborted the restore process.
Anyway, the call logs and messages was all there. So I'm pretty pleased anyway.
/Michael

[Q]How to Recover SMS After Flashing

Good Evening
Excusme everyone, I own a Sony Xperia ZL and running firmware C6503_10.4.1.B.0.101 (I hope this is the right one, I'am still a newbie about this), unrooted and bootloader locked. A few days ago, I got a bootloop on my device, and after searching the solutions they told me to flashing it. Then I just flashing it, and to be honest this is my first time flashing and I don't know any effect of this.
After successfully flashing, I lost all my internal data :crying:
But luckily , I don't know why but my device auto download all of my apps and also recover my contact automatically. I also got my WA messages because still have my back up on micro SD.
But not about the SMS, not even a single SMS appear.
I already try Dr.Fone for Android software and use deep scan, but the software found nothing.
Hope you will help me recover my SMS.
Thank you

No backup no recovery. Look for cwm recovery for lb bootloader for ur phone. By the next bootloop make a nandroid backup from ur damage system, flash the new rom and make a custom restore of the data only.

I believe I turn on that Sync a few weeks ago but then I turn it off because of the battery consumption.
Does the message that appear at time before I turn off the sync can be restored ?

there is also automatic restore option in backup and restore option
Google doesn't back up text messages automatically. There are apps that can back them up on a schedule to a cloud backup or on your storage of the phone. Might be something to look into. But yea, the other text messages are gone, sorry. The other stuff came back like your contacts and apps because that kind of stuff is backed up through Google's servers.
but it take backup automatically when connect to the internet if sync is on
there is option available in backup and reset

I'm unsure when I say this, but I'm pretty sure that SMS data is wiped when you clear the cache before flashing a new ROM.
I don't really understand why it would matter so much as long as you have everything else. Are they personal messages?
