Watch Hulu, Vimeo, non-mobile videos through Flash Video Browser app - Motorola Droid X2

Has anybody tried the Flash Video Browser app? I found it on a website last night. Apparently people have had success in watching Hulu videos and other websites that "aren't able" to support mobile versions.

I bought the app and I am running cm7. It seems to work but the video screws up when buffering. The developer says he has a fix but I have not tried it yet.

[Q] Help with streaming Video

I am having problems viewing videos off of websites like ESPN or CBSSPORTS, I can get the sound fine but it says "no video signal". The video comes up fine on the iPhone 3g but not on my Aria. Talked with my AT&T rep and he said could be a problem with the media player and would get back to me when he found an answer. Anyone have any ideas where to look for an answer?
Thanks
Use skyfire as your browser, it lets you watch most flash video.

Getting the same results using the Skyfire browser. I'll get audio but no video. I've tried the Rockplayer media player and I get video but no sound. Any other ideas?

best player for Youtube

hi...im running stock rom....videos off web sites play fine with flashplayer 10.2 but youtube videos are a little jerky and staticy......any better way to play youtube vids?
Youtube app from the market would probably do the trick.
I think a youtube app is part of the stock rom...is the one in the app market different?
No, should be the same thing. But you had said videos from websites play fine, so I figured you were watching youtube from the website.
The app is just a dedicated app for youtube so it will be the best bet over the actual site.
if the youtube app doesnt play decent then its probably your connection.
ok gotcha.....thanks a lot
You might want to search the market for the YouTube app anyways - it might have an updated version from what you have installed.

[Q] Video problem affecting everyones droid X2

I am posting this to report a problem, not only with my droid x2 but with everyone's droid x2.
problem: The droid x2 is unable to stream or watch downloaded 720p using Jetvd or TubeMate, while the droid 3 can.
Has everyone here used Jetvd or TubeMate. They are great programs, they basically allow you to watch youtube videos and download them if you like them. They both allow you to watch 720p videos/download them so you can watch them on your phone.
Now the problem is, the droid x2 does not allow you to watch hd video using both these programs. The droid x2 has a qhd display so i don't understand why its unable to play these videos.
While i was at the verizon store, i installed jetvd and tubemate on the droid 3. I discovered the droid 3 can play 720p videos using jetvd. I then went to the droid x2 on display and did the same thing. The x2 was unable to play these videos.
So i would like everyone to download jetvd. Do a search "hd" find a video thats 720p and try to play it because you can't.
So my question is this. Why? is this a rom problem? A program problem? Because how can the droid 3 do this while the droid x2 can't?
Open youtube app, settings choose high quality on mobile networks. Just watched starwars trailer in 720p
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
The you tube app does not play the video in hd, it plays the video at sub hd and stretches the image to fit the display. I had asked for you to download jetvd or tubemate and search he and select a video that shows 720p and try to play it. You can play it on the DROID 3 but not the x2
I wonder if this is a problem with the class rating of the microSD card. Anyone with a class 10 or higher want to check this?
Please could someone check. I am annoyed you can't play 720p youtube videos downloaded by jetvd or tubmate on the DROID x2 but you can on the evo and DROID 3
Just watched 300 trailer 720p hd. And 1080p transformers trailer. Streamed both. Class 10 sd. These are what the titles said. Did nit change any default settings in tubemate.
Edit.
I could not download and watch in. 1280- 720 res. Had to do the lower res 640-360 or whatever. Is this still 720p?

no 640x360 is not 720p. This is the issue i am reporting on.
Let me just clarify something. Tubemate can't play 720p or 1080p videos streamed. When you go to watch the video it redirects you to the youtube app in which case you are watching the vids in 640x360 resolution.
However Tubemate does allow you to download the videos in 720p so that you can watch them on your phone. Now you just said that even with your class 10 card you were unable to watch the downloaded 720p vids.
Jetvd can actually stream 720p and download 720p.
I am beggining to think this is a rom issue.
It has to be a rom issue, because I've seen the Thunderbolt handle streamed 720p flawlessly, and the eve 3d, betting any dual core phone can do it, besides ours

What are you smoking man... we all know the fact that Verizon's strong-arm, lock-down, "we own this, you don't" approach is the uber best possible awesomest most bestest romz evar. Verizon can't has no problems with their elite massive roms. If you can't play 720p on one of the fastest phones out there when 1080p runs pretty damn fine on slower, then it's just never not possible because Verizon said so. </sarcasm>
I'm sure it's a rom problem. Even a phone half the speed can do 720p using a class 10 (verified this one myself) with a near vanilla CM7 load (tweaked CPU settings only).
Can you really tell the difference on a 4.3 inch display anyway?

It's a 2.2.2 issue it was the same thing for the atrix

Ok thanks for the responses. I hope gingerbread or cm7 fixes this issue.
Well the gingerbread update did not fix this issue. This phone still can't play 720p!

Video issues on Dx2
I have installed CM10a3 rom on my Dx2 and discovered issues playing video. Youtube and other videos would play the audio but no accompanying video.
I found that Chrome Browser does a better job than other browsers, but not prefect. The Youtube app by Google and Chrome by Google play youtube videos that other browsers such as Dolphin would only play the audio (no imaging). This leads me to believe Google has something to here. I have Adoble Flash Player v.11 installed for Dolphin but Chrome does not us Flash. Could Flash and embedded videos for Flash be the video problem rather than the Dx2 rom or the Dx2 hardware? Does anyone have an idea why CNN videos or vids from non Youtube embedded videos not render the audio but not the images?

VEVO videos all crashed on my phone and tablet... can anyone confirm?
I think you guys are right, it does affect some other HD videos. I tried to playback a Kanye West Power Parody and that video crashed the Youtube app as well.
I don't know it affects all HD videos because yesterday I had no problems playing back Reckless Tortuga's videos which I thought were in HD, at least that's how they are offered through the browser. (they might not be HD on the app as there's no way of telling, other than a setting that suppose to enable HQ playback).
Good news is that this is only limited to the Youtube app, I can playback the Power video fine from the Browser.
I hope somebody fines out about this and fix this issue because the Youtube app is main apps showcased on the Prime, and it really makes things look bad if you try to play an HD youtube vid that will just crash the app.
I can't view the Kanye West Power music video either, but that said, the issue is not "all HD movies" since I can view and play the HD movies I've personally uploaded.
For example, you should be able to watch this just fine -- I can:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoK_OmSE8wg
the Kanye West vid crashes my Youtube app too. If you go to it in a browser like Dolphin you get a message "not available on mobile" even though I'm using desktop as user agent. Didn't know they could do that.
No Kanye West? Is this a bug, or a new feature?
My youtube is completely broken

Youtube with 720p/1080p?

If some one got working youtube app with hd videos working please share,
I using Boat browser (and flash player on) but in "desktop mode" on YT site some videos works and some don't
mabe someone got mod hd YT app working on Gpad

With root and titanium backup, I just removed the youtube app that comes with stock.
After that I was able to reinstall youtoube from the playstore, choosing version 5.3
That version plays everything perfectly in HD.

Ok, thanks for the Info I'll check that
Update,
I don't know what is it but when I play video on that Youtube app (v5.3) when I choice HD (and I know in desktop is REAL HD) is streaming poor quality like I don't know... VGA maybe
from CC to HQ is like from very poor quality to poor quality so that was not my point. I want to play 720p or 1080p videos like on desktop
Strange, because I do get pretty good quality, definitely HD (by youtube standards).
Either install flash player and firefox, or dolphin browser and dolphin jetpack or install viral youtube app. Take a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2579795

The viral floating youtube app doesnt support 480p or 1080p because google splits the streams in to. 720p works flawless and it hasnt any great difference with 1080p.
I forgot to ask you what version of android you have, if you have 4.2 jelly bean then adobe's flash player should work with every browser that supports flash playback (like firefox or dolphin). If you re on 4.4 kitkat though you need the hacked flash player as google removed from 4.4 some critical files that the flash player needed.

Yes i have 4.4 CM11 , like I wroted up, the haked flash work like a charm, but I switch to Dolphin browser because Boat browser do not played all hd videos on YT like I was thinking, but Dolphin does. Overall I think that Boat is beter browser than dolphin, faster, lighter and smoother but is something for something, haked flash player support Dolphin and is somthing in that flash code because videos that I can't watch on Boat are smooth playable on Dolphin.

I use firefox as a browser and if i want to watch youtube videos i switch to dolphin. Dolphin is not bad at all, its the only browser at the moment which can play flash videos in 4.4 kitkat with satisfactory results and supports plugins just like firefox.
Try Og YouTube from XDA. It's a modified Youtube APK.
There you can select the resolution like you do in the webplayer.
I'm running it and it works fine.
The only issue is, that you can't log in with your Google account.

Give viral a try. See sig
Use Flashfox or Firefox and download an add-on called youtube center.
For now I using Dolphin with jetpack and moded fplayer, and YT works like on PC no problem with 720/1080p
I dont really get it , why from the first place google messed up the resolutions.
Seriously... Why is this even a problem. Videos from the YouTube app look terrible. Sucks that we have to find a workaround.
