2.3.5 - BlurCamera.apk - Motorola Photon 4G

Modded, to be launching Gallery3D.apk (gallery from CM7 (com.cooliris.media)), if you click on thumbnail in camera or camcorder.
http://www.mediafire.com/?enn5hylt7xjulf3
Just download CM7, extract Gallery3D.apk, download this BlurCamera.apk, copy both with Root explorer into /system/app, set permissions and reboot. Then you can delete the stock BlurGallery.apk, if you are not registered to MotoBlur.
You can try, if it works on 2.3.4 too, or skiny, or whatever, but backup the stock BlurCamera.apk.

What should the permissions be set to? Thanks

As any other app in /system/app rw-r--r--

[Q] Cannot substitute Email.apk in System\app

I rooted my Archos 70 with Archangel, then deleted Email.apk in system/app with root explorer.
But when I open this folder again I see "deleted" Email.apk.
So I could not change stock email.apk for another becouse it even doesn't allow me to delete it.
Could you help?
PS I used different aplication to substitute\delete Email.apk but with no success
And you won't be able to do that if you root it with arcangel.
The Archos System folder is in a compressed and signed cramfs, there is no delete possible.
If you want to do something like that, use UrukDroid.
You can use Chulri's simpler root too.
I then replace the stock email.apk with Samsung Galaxy two-pane email. It works great and survives reboot.

Accidentally deleted stock clock and now need ClockPackage.odex

I uninstalled the stock clock because I thought that would delete the clock widgets instead. Restoring did not help, so I searched the forum and found this: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1070083)
According to the thread, I would need ClockPackage.apk and ClockPackage.odex to get the stock clock back. I have found ClockPackage.apk here, so all I need now is ClockPackage.odex. Could anyone please upload the odex file here, please? Thanks in advance.
Help, please. I'd greatly appreciate any help.
are you on a stock rom? how did you uninstall a system app? Guessing you have root so just put the clockpackage.apk in system/app, give it the right permissions, reboot and it'll be fine (hopefully), the phone should generate a new odex for the apk
Extract those original files from your downloaded "Rom" package and copy it to your mobile. Use root explorer to copy the file to system\app and set the right permissions.

Yes, it is rooted. Also, I did put the apk file in system/app and I got the app back on the application menu. However, it crashes whenever I try to run it.

Have you set the right permissions in root explorer for the apk?

How to restore default apk

Hi all, I have cyanogenmod installed on O1,
I follow this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1423128
and moved: Gallery3d.apk and Gallery3d.odex, camera.apk and camera.odex, music.apk and music.odex to my Backup folder.
I moved the MIUI files in system/app, but after some time I realize I prefered the old one, so I delete Miui files from System/app, and restore the old files, I reboot the phone, but I can't find my old application in the menu.
What can I do?If you need other information just ask.

ICS calendar app isn't showing all appoints...

I'm using my evo and my calendar app is from the kings shooter 3d and it's a great calendar app. When I sync'd the calendar app on my ics photon it only shows some of the things. Pretty much anything I manually put on my calendar isn't coming up. I have the basketball schedule, holidays, and other repeating events showing up, but nothing else. I would like to install the other calendar app so I pulled it off the rom and tried to install, but it wouldn't let it. Does anyone know how I can use the calendar app from my evo rom? Or correct the problem from my current ics calendar app? Thank you
Did you just trying installing the apk? Or did you move it into /system/app folder? If you move to that folder with Root Explorer set permissions and reboot it should work. Dont forget to rename the normal calendar to .apk.bak so if it doesn't work you can just rename it back to .apk and reboot and be back to normal.

I pulled the apk file from the rom and emailed it to myself so it downloaded and I tried to install but it wouldn't let me. Oh ok, I'll try your method. I'll have to read how to set permissions. I have a copy of root explorer and that wouldn't work either, but I have Astro and I was able to edit files with it too, but I would like to get my root explorer working also. Thanks wolf

I tried using a few file explorers even root explorer and none will let me change the name. Root explorer actually says cannot be changed because it is read only. I'm using CM7.2 now. How can I make the files read and writable?

AOSP Browser ODEX

Hi!
I was happy to see this tips on AOSP browser today on xda--> http://www.xda-developers.com/android/bring-back-the-aosp-browser-on-kitkat-2/
I converted the apk to a system app and ODEX it.
So this is for you guys that use a 4.4.2 ODEX firmware (rooted)
Download - unzip - copy/paste the android.browser.apk and android.browser.odex to system/app -set perm and reboot.
(remember to delete old stock browser first)
