GOOD Xbox 360 wired controller IME? - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I'm using USB/BT Joystick Center (from the Market) as my IME for my 360 controller. I'm also using n64oid to play mah favorite n64 games (Star Wars Podracing, Smash Bros- hell yeah!), but the analog sticks are KILLING me. They are unable to register "degrees of input" (as in lightly pressed or pressed hard) and thus both analog sticks only register as if they are moved to an extreme. As you can imagine, this is a major pain, and makes a lot of things almost unplayable... So I'm here wondering, does anyone have a solution? A better IME? Post anything that you think could help!

I would HIGHLY recommend the Sixaxis app. It only works with Sony branded PS3 controllers, but it has analog support over bluetooth (just added) and is constantly being updated. Give it a try!
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller&hl=en
(Do note that I have not tried using the analog support in N64oid yet, since it came out yesterday, will update tonight (works like a charm in GTA 3 though)).

Xbox 360 controllers are supported natively in Android...
For some reason I recall N64oid supporting analog sticks, you have the latest version installed?

I does support them, but I can't get it configured properly. And I'm pretty sure I have the latest version (2.6?).

No where did rule out the possibility of another controller or specifically state that it had to be that controller.

Update:
Without an IME, I get normal analog stick function.
But without the IME, it no longer registers input from the right stick or from RT/LT triggers.

I was trying to find a solution for this problem as well, but was unable to. Many N64 games are unplayable if you are unable to map the C buttons. If you find a solution, make sure to post it here!

I am not sure about the Xbox 360 controller and any app your using (I use sixaxis w/ a ps3 controller), but I found it useful to map the C buttons to either the right joystick (since the N64 didn't have one, it is usually not used) or the dpad.
The key to get that trick to work, depending on the app your using, is to make sure that the inputs of say the dpad and left joystick are seperate (both are not mapped as "DPAD Direction') and then map the buttons within N64oid.

You can play zelda, just have to map the back and start buttons, as well as the button when you press in the analog sticks. (maybe referred to as L3?)
I have the back and start buttons as c-buttons (back = c-up, start = c-left), and L3 as the start button.

Could you get it to work?

Hello,
Got exactly the same problem.
Cannot make the analog stick recognized as a real analog stick in N64oid.
Have anyone managed to fix that ?

[Q] Best Bluetooth Gamepad for Note? [N64oid/BluezIME]

Okay, The Note runs N64 games FLAWLESSLY.
From what I understand, fancy controllers like ps3 sixaxis and wiimote/nunchuk won't work with stock galaxy roms because of some low level bluetooth incompatibility. You'd have to wait until CM9 or similar comes out.
So, I'm looking for the best bluetooth gamepad to use with N64oid and BluezIME if required. BluezIME has official support for a few, such as Zeemote, PhoneJoy, and iControlPad. The only one out of those that has an analog stick is the Zeemote, and it only has 4 additional buttons.
For a good N64 controller, it needs an analog stick, 6 buttons (A,B,L,R,Z,START), and another analog stick or a D-pad for the C-buttons. Something like the ps3 controller would be perfect: 2 analog sticks, 2-4 trigger buttons, start button, and 2-4 regular buttons.
Is there one with the needed buttons that is compatible?

Alex, you WANT "Datel Retro Wireless Gamepad" - can get it at:

Been using it with PlayStation emulators, n64oid, everything. Full botton mapping works great and easily connects. Worked GREAT with my Atrix and now my Note. Search for YouTube videos of it being used- arguably the most popular wireless Android gamepad. Highly recommended.
Hope that helps.

Zero lag, the graphics are very smooth, but, as I already mentioned, the controls are quite bad.
There's no lag, but it took me about an hour to map all the gamepad controls since the touchscreen compatibility is literally ****ed up. Now that I can play with a gamepad it works flawlessly though.

In sixaxis controller I checked "enable gamepad, " then Shadowgun enables the gamepad menu and allows you to assign bindings from within the game. I bet plugging in a xbox controller would work as well. I'm not sure if keyboard emulation works anymore, but I don't see why not.

You would have to insmod the gamepad module...and then buy a usb adaptor for $20. Then you would need a compatible cable to connect the xbox controller to the tablet.
I just went to Walmart and dropped $60 on a Dual Shock 3 controller though...the Sixaxis Controller app is pretty awesome. (like it's really really really really awesome)
Epic, will try this, can you link a specific picture or sort of the USB adapter? I assume this is a female-female one?

Thank's for this, Now I know what it looks like.
I figured you had to use the original cable, then a female-female adapter, then the xbox controller on the other side. All in all a very long ass wire.

I'm using an ASUS Transformer Pad 300 (duh) on the AOKP build 38 ROM. Every other controller game has worked fine on this ROM so I doubt that's the problem. I have a Logitech F710 controller that has never had issues before now. In-game there are no options to map the keys or the like. When I load up the game, the left stick acts as a move stick and works fine, the right stick does nothing but the only way to look around on my controller is to use the r2 and l2 buttons, they work together as back and forth being mapped to R2, up and down being mapped to L2. So it works like this
L2: pressed=up, not-pressed= down
R2: pressed=right, not-pressed= left
so you have to constantly be pressing one or the other or both, it is literally impossible to hold the screen still as it is always either pitching left or right and up and down at the same time. No other game has had a single problem and this is the controller Nvidia recommends/ uses to demo their tablets. Very weird. any help would be appreciated.

I dusted off my F710 and gave it a try. It worked fine for me. Right Analog stick functioned as it should.
I'm running a rooted .29 with a tweaked build.prop. And it was also working fine with my Dualshock before I rooted.
Perhaps you need to reinstall the game or there's something weird going on with your ROM.
Works as it should with the f710 for me...but I'm running stock .29

Hi guys. Is there a way to set up multiple keys to function when I hit one (hw) button in epsxe? for example if I set the directions to "w a s d" it would be really helpful when I hit "e" and it moves up and right. I know fpse can do it, but it started crashing with latest updates, and I find this alternative app since. Would be great, please if you know how to do it,pm me
edit: never mind, Id been blind, I found it!

It would be hard to tell (honnestly, even if I manage Fpse official forum ^^).
In my opinion, it depends on what you're expecting from the emulator:
Fpse=> more options (for video, audio, controlers), more things you can tweak to get your perfect "graphic/speed balance" for each game, in the whole better graphic....and more updates (which can be seen as a bad or a good point, depending on how geek you are but a proof that the devs tries to fix every single bug )
Epsxe=> Easy to set up, no waste of time, straight to the point: if a game is said to work so it does indeed. But less tweaking possibilities, less good graphic on high end devices. Working great on low/medium end devices
If you want to play quickly, prefer instant-game over trying settings, Epsxe
If you want a lot of options and perfect crispy graphics, even if it requires trying a few settings , Fpse
Schtruck, Fpse's dev., is my friend, and I've been following this project since late 2008 on Windows Mobile then Android, so of course I vote for Fpse
Go with ePSXe bud

Fpse has been supporting bluetooth too for a very long time (actually FpseCE for Windows Mobile was already supporting bluetooth controllers like the MSI BGP100 in early 2009 ).
BTW, Opengl 2.0 plugin for Fpse is on the way (there are already 3 different rendering possibilities: software, OpenGL ES blitting and OpenGL 1.1 plugin). As far as graphics are concerned, Fpse has always had (and so will keep having) an advantage over epsxe
Does anyone know if FPse or ePSXe have native ps3 controller support? (I have a transformer infinity and I would like to just use the USB port on the dock and play games.)
A year as passed.... ePSXe has grown.
What do you think?

[Working] GameStop Red Samurai V2 Bluetooth Controller ($12.97)

Picked up a pair of these controllers from GameStop earlier this week. Only tried pairing one, but it works great! It has 2 modes, in one of them it acts just like the remote without the voice part.
http://m.gamestop.com/Catalog/Product/104425
I bought one today and it works perfectly. Tip: ensure the controller remains in the NP's line of sight during pairing. The first time it couldn't pair and the second time it paired but no buttons (in game mode) worked because of this.

One thing worth noting...
The controller pairs as two separate devices. If you pair it in "keyboard" mode, you must re-pair it in "gamepad" mode.
Just picked up two of these today based on reviews in this thread and after a few tests I can confirm that these things are amazing.
I was previously trying to use my Ouya controllers to play games here and there, but these $12 controllers are 100x better and most games and emulators I've tried so far "just work". They're actually comfortable to hold, buttons are responsive with good travel and I can operate the NP menu with them without any bizarre button config.

I agree. They feel so much smoother than allot of other controllers I have used. The Gamestop associate helping me recommended it. Glad I listened to him! The only real negative I have about this controller is that I wished it used micro USB to charge instead of the mini USB.
I hope this post can help those on a budget looking for a great gaming controller. Trying to give back to an awesome community that has helped me avoid many potentially bricked devices.

Did you try to see if it works with 2 players simultaneous? I purchased a NykoPad Pro which works great and I want another to use for my MAME emulator. I read reviews (amazon) that users can pair a second controller but they can't seem to get the second Nyko Playpad to go into two player mode.
I hope the Red Samurai doesn't have his problem.
Finally arrived in the mail today and I LOVE the feel of it. Very comfortable to hold, maybe a little light, and aesthetically pleasing. Just need to figure out the easiest way to remap keys to work with emulators, and then I'll be golden!

Once you go to settings, select input.
