[Q] Quickpic "i" logo every time I open it... - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey gang,
Just a dumb question about Quickpic. I've been using it for a long time now with no problems. Now, suddenly, whenever I open it, I get a dropdown with a logo that has a lowercase "i" in a circle (like for "info"). Touching/swiping/clicking/etc doesn't do anything. The only way to get rid of it is to press "back".
I have checked the settings menu and found nothing. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, wiping program data, etc. I simply don't get what's causing the popup, or how in the hell to get rid of it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I use the app and have never seen this myself. I would try uninstalling and reinstalling the app

Thanks for your suggestion though.
I got an email from the developer:
"I don't know...this will happen only in some custom roms"
I'm using MIUI 2.1.20, and it's only been present in the latest few builds. I'll check over there...

[Q] Uninstalling call recorder in DAS BAMF 1.6.2

I can't figure out how to uninstall call recorder. It FC on every call that comes in and I don't record calls anyways. I tried under applications but the uninstall option is greyed out. Didn't see anything under BAMF tools either.
I would love an answer on this, too
just use root explorer or any file manager to delete the apk out of the system/app folder. It's super easy to do I used titanium backup to delete mine and it worked fine.
I have an uninstaller of sorts I will be posting in a bit.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
In the meantime you can just uncheck recording calls in the preferences.

Done that, just hate the Superuser prompt popping up all the time.
It doesn't pop up at all for me after unchecking that box...
Deleted with Astro, thanks for your all's help.

In Astro go to system, app, then find call recorder and hold your finger on it until some options pop up. Click on the edit option then there will be an option to delete.

In titanium backup you can go to the backup/restore tab, find call recorder and hold your finger on it. There should be an option to remove by some kind of exploit. I don't have the app anymore to try that method but it could work.
Hey guys,
Long time reader, first time poster.
First, I am loving Bamf nte. Loving!
I just have a simple question:
In the pull down notification bar, where the recently used Apps are located on stock, there's just an empty space. Is there a way to get recently used Apps or something like settings goggles to appear there? The empty space is driving me bonkers.
I know I can long press the home button to bring up recently used Apps as well I'm just so used to having them in the drop down bar. Any help would be appreciated and again, fantastic work on a great rom.

There's supposed to be controls like wifi, bluetooth, etc. Did you flash this using ROM Manager? I had this same exact problem flashing with ROM manager, I went back and flashed manually in clockwork and it fixed the problem.
You need to remove
I know this post is old but it is the first one that shows up so I thought I might add this:
You need to remove the application from the device administration list.
For device administration: Menu -> Settings -> Security ->Device administration.

[Q] Facebook issues?

Hi im using the xtrsense 5.0 ROM, i'm not able to get on my fb app (version 1.9.6), it cuts off and shows me:
-------------------------------------------
Connection lost: tap to retry
-------------------------------------------
when i log into facebook from the phones browser it shows a security warning that says:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are problems with the security certificate for this site.
The name of the site does not match the name on the certificate.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How can i fix this problem ? I tried a GB Rom and it doesn't give me this issue, i don't want to use the GB rom either cos its not as smooth running as the sense rom and also i like my trackball notifications.
Any ideas guys? I tried uninstalling and re installing, no luck. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
I just tried on xtrSENSE; it took a while to refresh, and I did get one "tap to retry" message, but it did finally load.
You can try uninstalling and reinstalling the app, or try the app Friendcaster and see if that works (though it does have ads...)

Thanks for the reply Doogald, Its just weird, i tried uninstalling and reinstalling, even tried clearing the dalvik, and wiping the data and reinstalling the xtrSENSE zip but i still have the same issue. Not sure whats going on. I'm not a fan of the friendcaster app, so i ended up installing Nonsensikal_v161_vanilla Froyo. Its working now, but i miss the whole Sense look. Also how can i get the trackball LED notifications to work?

My dusty recollection is that there is a way. I'm traveling at the moment but will be back home this weekend. If I can dig out the method I'll pass it along.
Thanks for your help, if you can pass that info along that would be great. Happy thanks giving!

First - it's been well over 18 months since I tried Nonsensikal - but what happens when you go to settings/cyanogen settings/user interface/led notifications. Is that one of the settings? Can you change some of them to color white to see if that activates trackball notifications?

Awesome. Well, if that didn't work I was going to suggest a Gingerbread ROM next.

[Q] removing home screen pages?

Hi, I'm new to the forums, searched around, and couldnt find this problem on the note 2.
I just bought mine a couple of days ago, and accidentally added a new home screen. I dont have a use for it, but when i tried to go to edit page -> and drag and drop it into the trash can, the phone freezes, and comes up with the message "Unfortunately, TouchWiz home has stopped."
My phone is stock, and is not running any extra launcher programs.
Anyone else having this problem?
Thanks for your help.
I just tried it and was able to delete all but the homepage (I haven't bothered to set any others up yet anyways). I'd restart your phone and try again.

it doesnt show 1new message onthe lock screen but does on the home screen and when you click apps and can see all the apps
the only other option i can consider is re installing but i dont really want to do that if im honest
I had the same issue when I installed the Handcent widget and kept the stock messaging app. Here's what worked for me:
1) Go to Settings > Developer Options, and check "Do not keep activities". I'm not sure what this actually does (or how it affects other apps) so I unchecked it after it took away the message notification.
2) After a little while, the problem reappeared, so I found a free app called "SMS Cleaner Free" in the Play Store. That seemed to solve my issue permanently, as it hasn't reappeared since.
I'm not sure if one or a combo of doing both helped, but try it out and let us know.

what exactly are you referring to 'media scroll'
in a specific program/app?
front home menu?
need a tad more info...
Hi please help. I have an app called media scroll on my huge Samsung view tablet. I was having trouble changing the apps on it. (When you slide left from your main home page you open media scroll) anyway I uninstalled the app but now I can’t find how to reinstall it again. Please help me. The app icon is black with a purple/blue arrow kind of like the play store icon
mediascoll seems to be a front end app that is used on the ATT GV but is a in the background working app, one that holds no options at least on ATT version.
Have you tried a factory reset?
