N64 emulator not working - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I tried a couple of emulators with a combo of different roms and I can't get them to work. Anyone have this trouble?

No offense but it sounds like possible user error. N64oid works great for me. I suggest you provide more details of your problem if you would like to receive detailed solutions.

I was using n64oid last night plugged into the tv, with a wireless 360 controller. No issues except trying to figure out how i wanted the controller setup.

I got the Mario textures working fine but the Zelda ones have file extensions ending in .001 .002 and .003. I have no idea what I need to do with these files to make them work. I tried changing the extensions to .zip but then astro got errors when trying to extract them. Can anyone give me some insight as to how I can resolve this?

Use a program called file joiner to join the files together into a single .zip/.Rar file .

N64oid works great for me on ICS with Mario 64. No problems at all.
Gensoid also works, tried Sonic 2.

It wasnt user error or software problems, the rom I was using just does not work on the v2.6 N64oid. Every other rom works though.
Wish Battletanx and spacestation worked :-{

Same here. I tried 3-4 different Rom's ( also different File Types). None of them have worked. I hope there will be a solution soon.

Both Psx4droid and Fpse can't work on my SGS i9100.... Is there any solution yet ?
psx4droid is working perfectly for me on my i9100
make sure you have the latest version from the developers site as its no longer on the market
FPse works great for me, make sure you have grabbed your bios file also, been playing some grant tursimo 2 today

What version do you have? I have the latest version listed on their site and it doesnt work on my i9100.
Please help!
Same for me. Can't play any game. always return to Rom selection.
Fpse works perfect for me. Only a few games won't work. Be sure to have a right bios file. This is also needed for psx4droid.
There some games with issues. Tomb Raider 2 for example. So if it does not seem to work with fpse try another game.
The only serious problem i encountered with fpse was with Metal Gear Solid. I could not change the disc. With FFIX however changin discs worked well.
I find FPse works better. And if you're using an AOSP rom like CM7 you can also play with a PS3 sixaxis controller over bluetooth ;-)

Sorry, misread your question. I wouldn't say gbcoid is optimized for tablet screens as the virtual controller button placement could be a hindrance at times. Aside from that [very] minor occasional inconvenience, it's very playable. Especially because you can change the Scaling of the screen to fit your preference.
*If you have a bluetooth controller, I imagine it would be 100% perfect.

Hey can you tell me the steps to get FPse working? i got the app and i installed the bios file. is there any like a specific place to save the bios file?
as for roms. do u have to do any steps? or just download from the site as a .bin file and copied it onto ur tablet? i copied the .bin file onto my tablet but FPse can't find it.
FPse. Since the last update added dual core optimization ... well everything just works, in fact it works TOO fast - I had to frame limit all my games and I had turned on all the tweaks. Tekken III runs beautifully. Additionally the sixaxis bluetooth controller works great with it.

[Q] Question: PSX ROM Quality

So I was doing some research last night to try and get Kingdom Hearts on my phone. I was successful, but the quality of the game is horrible. I even tried a couple different downloads.
This is what I did:
I downloaded the full version of psx4droid, downloaded the bios, downloaded the game rom and downloaded androzip.
I put all of them in a folder in my sd card. Used androzip to extract the bios and the game rom zip file. Then I opened psx4droid and located the bio and set it. Then search for the game rom and launched it. The game plays fine, with no stalls what so ever. But for some reason the quality of the game is really bad, and when I go in to the setting and change the ratio to original size the game size is really tiny.
What I don't understand is the normal size of this game has a larger aspect ratio so why would it be smaller? Does anyone know any tricks on how to get a better quality out of any of the roms games? Thanks
Psx4droid isn't very good. You have to get fpse from the market, it's a pay app but it's worth it. I'm playing ff7 right now with a good framerate and full working sound.

Do know where I can find a full tutorial on how to do it. I have a few playstation games, and ps2 games that I would like to get on my phone but having no luck.
1. Download the FPSE app from the market.
2. Download the psx bios from here:
http://www.roms4droid.com/bios/SCPH1001.zip
3. Open up FPSE, it will automatically prompt you to select the bios. (I recommend putting all roms and the bios file in a folder on your external sd card)
4. Select the ROM you want to play.
Everything should automatically scale to full screen with fpse. Also, fpse only reads IMG and ISO files I believe.
For some roms you have to enable spusync for the audio to play correctly (ff7 being one of those roms). Enable it by menu -> audio -> spusync.
And there are no emulators available currently that will run a PS2 game.

Thank you. I tried three different downloads of that rom and still the quality is horrible. The size ratio when I set it to original is really small, it must be that rom is the only one on the web. I am downloading FFVIII to give that a try. Thank you for the instructions, at least I am doing it correctly. Just need to find a better rom.

I've never tried kingdom Hearts but every rom I did try (xenogears, suikoden, ff7, tenchu) ran flawlessly and at full screen by default.

Its got to be that rom then. I just finished downloading all the cds for ff8. About to give it a try.
Do you know if I will run in to a problem when I finish disc one and start disc two? Will it let me proceed with my saved data like normal?
Still no luck, I put the .zip file in the folder, I used a third party app to extract it in the same location, than tried to play it......."cannot find bin file..... .bin file must be named as the .cue file."
Finally got it....wow....that tool alot more research.... I had to take the zip files, extract the .bin files from them and then zip them using a unecm file that I found online which converted them to a rom format....works awesome! Thank you for all your help dude!

Sorry I didn't respond. Yes you must unecm most psx roms. And don't try the unecm app on the market because it doesn't work. I usually unzip and unecm the roms on my PC then I transfer them via wifi file transfer pro to my phone.

Yea ff8 is great. To answer your question about disc changing.. I'm not sure because I haven't gotten to that point yet, I'm assuming just make sure you have the disc 2 iso ready to go before hand.
Also, some games are extremely hard to play (tenchu) with just touch screen controls, lol. I think I'll stick to just rpgs for now.
PS. Try the n64oid app it runs games like ocarina of time or mario 64 flawlessly.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Nice, will do. Thank you
Just for info. When you choose "original", the reason it's small is due to the original resolution of a PSX game being 640x480 (for NTSC) to fit a television screen. Your Galaxy Note is 1280x800.

I can install it but whenever I try to run it, it just jumps straight to the homescreen. I can run it on my Sensation 4g and TF201, but not the TF300. Anyone else have problem trying to run this game?

ME installed and ran just fine on mine, although I have CM9 installed. Sucks that EA doesn't make their android games compatible w/ my PS3 controller...boooo. It rocks with Shadowgun.
much of the game is touch and gesture based, it would change the whole experience pretty heavily. Although I dont think that would be a bad thing because sometimes those controls can be really, REALLY unhelpful. I wouldnt mind controller support for this or Dead Space (tegra 3 optmised for both of em? hmmm hmmm?)

Seems like the folks who installed the game while they were on the older firmware (.26) are ok. If you are running the newer .29 firmware then Mass Effect is not available for the device.
I've uploaded a modified. 29 build.prop that will allow Mass Effect (and probably several other apps) to appear and download to the TF300. The only change I made was to the market fingerprint/release keys. I changed them to the .26 firmware market fingerprint. Here you go-
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7833959/Fixed Build Prop.zip
This has been tested and proven to work safely. Just extract the build.prop file from this zip and push it to your \system folder. Be certain that the permissions are set properly before rebooting.
Do not flash the zip file.

It's not so much a compatibility issue. The Market version works fine as long as you can download it. Not to mention there are several other apps missing from the market without this fix (at least until the current release keys get registered with google).

has anyone tried playing it on the original transformer (tf101)? Also does it support the use of external controllers like the xbox 360 wired controller (via USB of course). I was able to play GTA 3 on my tf101 using the wired controller and would be willing to buy this if that support was available

Is this a real question? Yes you need to buy the Sixaxis controller app to use Sixaxis controller mappings. Didn't think I needed to do this but here are the step by step instructions.
1 - BUY SIXAXIS APP
2 - Download my 2 files in original post
3 - Unzip all files from profiles.zip. You will see a bunch of .map files
4 - Put Modern Combat 3.map into /mnt/sdcard/data/com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller/profiles

Gotcha, it doesnt work! I did that all above and all I get is weapon switching and moving forward.
Second, when I first read your post, I assumed there wasnt an app needed because the TF201 has built in support for ps3 controller.

I figured it out. See I thought I could just use this with it being just USB but I guess u have to use it as Bluetooth. Still tweaking it though. Wish they would just support game pad control anyways. It would be easier since the prime already supports ps3 with USB and Bluetooth

Thanks! I'll try this out tonight. I have MC3 and Sixaxis, and a controller is really the only way to play that game with a 10" screen.
I am pretty happy with my MC3 map on Sixaxis, but it's definitely not perfect, so I'm always tweaking things around. Can't wait to see your approach, and try your profile.
Question, which controller setup should we use for your MC3 map? The in-game controller settings offer three different setups: virtual joystick, something else, and something else. Which should we use with your controller map?
Thanks again!
