The 7 steps of being an early adopter of a phone (and why it can suck to be one)... - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Steps of being an early adopter:
1. Froth at the mouth over the specs of a new Android device months before its release
2. Get antsy for the release date to be here right now!
3. Think about how amazing it will be when you finally have the perfect phone
4. Stay up all night the day before its release
5. Buy your dream phone and finally realize what it means to be in love
6. Learn every detail, every intricacy, about your new partner
then
7. A few months later... see Amazon Wireless drop the price from $299 -> FREE w/ a contract and go:
"#SLFM*%[email protected]&!!! WHY DIDN'T I SIMPLY WAIT A FEW MONTHS AND SAVE $300?!?!"

Just wanted to give those going through these steps without thinking a perspective that they might want to wait a couple of months to see just how quick the price drops on the Galaxy Note. I know since I've been through it myself wanting a new phone and not really thinking
p.s. another great benefit of being a few months late adopter ... you get to let all the early adopters deal with the problems early on, then when you do get it (at a significant price drop) all the manufacturer bugs are worked out and you have reviews from reputable sources exactly how things like battery life are.

I honestly don't see it dropping that quickly. Look at the skyrocket which has been out for about 3 months. Those have only gone down $50. I was more than happy to get mine a few days before it released, I even bought it at full retail. Sure you could wait and hope it goes on sale somewhere in a couple months but at this point, the people who want the Note want it NOW lol I know I for one am itching to get one.

Yeah, I had that thought, then I looked at the prices of the AT&T Galaxy S II and the Galaxy S II Skyrocket and realized I'll be fine. They've barely dropped.

The Skyrocket has been out less than 3 months and has already dropped from $249 -> $99 on Amazon Wireless: http://wireless.amazon.com/Samsung-...=INDIVIDUAL_NEW&sr=1-3-entd&qid=1328485541055
Not to mention that I believe in California (and certain other states) if you buy a phone from ATT, BestBuy, Radioshack, etc you have to pay sales tax on the full retail price of the phone (another $50 - 60) but if you purchase it on AmazonWireless you don't pay sales tax.
Even more savings

I woke up this morning thinking this same question knowing how the Streak price dropped after a couple of months.. So I'm gonna wait Til it drops and read everyone's reviews in the mean time. I loved being one the first w/ the streak in Aug 10 but my jaw dropped a little with the price dropping so fast.. I have a AT&T store a couple steps from my job so I'll go there and mess with it for a bit to get my fix...

Thats for brand new customers or add a lines. Change it to upgrade and it goes back up to 200. We could all wait till black friday and amazon will likely have all their phones for a penny for add a lines or new customers. You can always wait and find it somewhere for a cheaper price but thats boring
Edit- Actually its MORE expensive on amazon to add a line with a skyrocket lol which is really odd. So $99 is only for brand new customers

Haha.. actually they have run the skyrocket for a penny a few times now

Thank you mred! I haven't followed the skyrocket daily but this makes my point that much easier...
In 3 months time the Note might be a penny with contract (just like the Skyrocket) on Amazon so it might be best to wait a little and avoid Step 7

For some people waiting and saving a couple hundred is worth it. I work for best buy mobile so I always get the newest phones on release day. I very rarely have spend money on phones so I guess thats why it doesn't matter to me haha See ya in a few months

it was a penny within a month or so.
I am torn. I have buy back on my skyrocket and could easily sell it back...but I would have to come up with the difference. I keep saying I will wait until we have another line available for upgrade because typically we come out ahead that way.

This thread was mainly to serve as a warning and reminder to the people who might not be thinking clearly / from all angles - "OMG OMG I NEED THIS PHONE RIGHT NOW!"
I remember back in the day I would work myself up into a frenzy over a new phone that I just HAD to have, bought it on release day for retail price, and then greatly regretted it later on due to a price drop
Every time a new phone comes out there are always alot of early adopters on Xda making threads and pissed off about paying full retail on release day and are surprised by how fast Amazon Wireless drops the price (and resale value) of their prized possession they thought would be on top of the mountain longer...
Of course if $200-300 in savings isn't that big of a deal for you then by all means upgrade the day it comes out

So even though Amazon dropped the price of the ATT Skyrocket to FREE less than a month (and currently $99) after its release... somehow Amazon won't drop the price of the Galaxy Note for at least a year until the Galaxy Note 2 is here?
Sounds like wishful thinking from someone who already plans on buying it at full retail price
If anything though people might be better off just having patience and waiting a month or so for the inevitable (and fast) price drop by Amazon of the Galaxy Note and save the cool $200-300...

Returned My Skyrocket, I'm Back :D

After having the skyrocket for one day, I decided to go back to the original Galaxy S2. My reason? I saw a post on there that the OG GS2 was only $99 at Target. I couldn't justify the $150 extra price for a bigger screen and LTE option that isn't even in my area.
So I went to Best Buy and did a exchange/price swap for the OG GS2. The guy at Best Buy mobile offered me to keep my Skyrocket and give me $100 back. But instead I decided to get the OG GS2 and got instead $150 back. He said if I decide to go back to the SkyRocket later, he won't offer this deal again. The reason he offered it was because they would lose money on the exchange. What would you guys have done?
Don't get me wrong, I liked the Skyrocket, I even had it rooted. For the support of roms and awesome devs the OG GS2 has, it was a toss up. The Snapdragon processor lag was not noticeable when even scrolling fast through the forum categories this site has. Anyway glad to be back xD
Off to root this phone again!
You're crazy dude. If you could have gotten back $100 and only been out $50 you should have kept the skyrocket.
I'm not much of a penny pincher. I'm definitely not rich, but in the end it's not a lot of money and you only live once. I'm not going to live my life being cheap. Geez I probably spend $300 a month just in Starbucks.
I returned my SG2 and paid the extra $50 to get the Skyrocket. Of course I live in an LTE area, but usually use wifi at home anyway.
My thoughts were that the SR is more future proof. Also I see no lag with either phone. People with a sg2 who say they see lag on the SR are really on crack. They are both really speedy. I don't base a phone on benchmarks which rate things I would never really do.
But in the end, if you're saving basically a tanks worth of gas made you happy, then I guess that is what matters.

I will switch to Skyrocket if it's $99 in my Boston area ($250 instead) and i only got this one for $50. So in order to get the Skyrocket i need to put an extra $200. Hmmm too much.

I know it was only $50, but I also had a little over $100 in accessories on the OG GS2: Zagg Shield, Casemate pop case, extended battery, Taurus bumper. So in the end I do end up saving $150. Initially all I really wanted to do was see how much development would happen in that 30 day period.

So true. Both will be outdated within a month. At least the SGSII will have the huge dev community.
And LTE... that'll just get me to my 2GB data limit quicker. I'm on Wifi alot anyway and barely stream anything anyway.

SR is not more future proof - as it's a niche device with little in common with other devices, it's going to get very attention development-wise, officially or unofficially.
As compared to the I777, which can get nearly anything the I9100 gets, which is Samsung's hottest-selling phone of 2011.

its only 2 days old.......damn E
Welcome back, I think that the OGS2 is the better device for me. Glad you like it as well!
my take...
I returned the Galaxy S II for the 'Rocket... At first I was going to use my contact extension to buy and sell an iPhone 4S and use the profit to finance a Galaxy Note but now that I have LTE there's no going back, especially with my grandfathered unlimited data... The bluish display tint is annoying but I can put up with it, especially since I got the 'Rocket for $150. Fair dinkum for sure.
I have never done a 30days switch till this year. It's the way Samsung/AT&T had made their release on the Galaxy S2 and the variants.
As they release 2 "similar" phone within the 30days period. Which gives us the consumer the ability to go on a "trial" basis thanks to 3rd party stores like BB, Walmart, and Target with their 30days no question as return policy.
I bought the sgs2 for $260 out the door the hour it came out while paying verizon $220 to break my unlimited data contract and final bill. Yup, $480 and metered data this phone cost me. Best mobile month of my life.

Yes the dev part is true. Me on the other hand I don't run custom roms. I did when I had the captivate being as it took forever for 2.2 to come out, and when it did I already moved on.
I used to jailbreak all my iPhones just so I could customize it. But I never really got on to the custom rom bandwagon with android phones.
Stock works just fine for me.
I still think it's more future proof though being as LTE is the next generation and which is the future. It will keep expanding in coverage and in the end I think the SR would be the better choice for that reason.
For me, I like the bigger screen of the SR (my eyes aren't getting any better as I age), and I live in an LTE area.
I am actually enjoying the SR much better than I did my Atrix, although the Atrix is a great phone as well.
On a side note, I wonder why AT&T is only doing Visual Voicemail with their LTE devices. It would be easy to just offer the app for other androids. I used YouMail for my other phones which works great, but just something about having it built in to the carrier I like better.

low resale value

Hello fellow noters
I recently out of decided to sell my galaxy note to get the nexus 4 ( to use on simple mobile) and to my dismay the g-note i717 has a really really low resale value. From what I have seen on ebay and craigslist the average cost for a i717 is around the low 300s, which for me is bad, Very bad. If you take into account the money that paypal and ebay take for the commission of the sale you are left with 250 something. This probably has to do with the release of the note2 only 6 months later than the original note.
I'm not complaining because this is still a great device but the loss of value took me by surprise, but I will definitely think twice before getting another Samsung device close to its release date.
In conclusion my friends I would advice you that if you want a Samsung device wait 4-6 months and buy it out of contract for 1/2 the price and if you are planning on reselling it later take a deep breath before looking for the resale values.
IMHO I see the Nexus 4 as a Downgrade from the Galaxy Note 1...
NO SD CARD.
Non-Removeable Battery
Max 16 Gigs of Storage.. Max..
Smaller Screen....
But.. Enjoy
All android phones lose there value fast because theres a new better one every week. The reason something like iphone hold there value so long is because there is only 1 a yr.

I see it as a huge upgrade because
I don't need more than 16GB of storage because I don't put 50000 songs on my phone when I don't listen to them all anyways.
I don't really need to remove the battery ever, and it has better battery life than my note which is horribly awful.
It has android 4.2 official from the get go, and will get future android updates a week or so after announcement. Current note doesn't have official 4.1 yet, and 4.2 is out! And CM10 is still not stable. I'm so done waiting 6 months for an android update, especially with how awesome the changes have become.
Screen is a bit smaller yes, but it's higher PPI.
2GB of RAM is very necessary for anyone who is a power user. I constantly have to reload apps.
Quad core krait is awesome and should never lag. note1 lags often.
It doesn't have LTE which does actually suck but will be better for battery life and HSPA 42 in Canada is pretty good
And it's $350!
You could argue the Note2 is a better phone than the nexus4 and in many ways it is, but I still think getting android updates is more important for me. And the price is great.
I'll be selling my note1 for $300 next week. It's lower than I'd like but allows me to upgrade to the nexus4 for very cheap!
Sound Like They're Getting Your Money.
I"ll Keep My Note *1* And My $30.00 A Month T-Mo Plan And Jamie's ParanoidAndroid JellyBean Rom All Day Long Over A Phone That Won't Allow Me To Expand My Memory Forcing Me To "The Cloud" And Not Even Allowing Me Access To My Phone's Battery Making Me A *Slave* To A Charging Outlet...
Enjoy Your Nexus 4....
The main reason I'm switching is because even with the blaze radios my speeds are very very slow. I am going to miss the spen, and my 32 gb sd card but due to the lack of support from Sammy to their devices and the low resale value I refuse to spend 700$ on a note 2.
The reason for this post is to tell you guys to get prepared for the loss of value when you try to upgrade from the note.

I bought my og note when att was doing their $50 refurb note upgrade deal. Mines legit very rarely reboots even at 1836mhz . I'm gonna wait till something better is available for another deal like that. Then you don't have to trip on ever losing money.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't like contracts much less with att. This is mostly for people like me that buy off contract and use pre paid that the depreciation of the phone affect us. IMO signing a contract with att or Verizon is like selling your soul for a discount on a device you end up paying triple by the end.
that sucks you should have waited and sold it on CL and would have received more money...You were in to much of a hurry to sell if that you lost money...Everyone else is getting 350 min for there device....And the nexus 4 sucks...YOUR complaining the note 1 has no value??? Good luck selling that Lg phone.. lmao...you'll get 100 dollars for that LG ...You make no sense...Note 2 crushes that toy!

I haven't sold it yet and I'm not complaining, I love this thing. I don't really mind if the nexus loses value because it only costs 350$, but that is another topic.
the Note does have a low resale value if you take in to account that it used to cost around 700$ and now you have to negotiate with someone to barely get half of your investment. Samsung products do devaluate quite fast because they flood the market with their phones, release new version every 6 months and they give retailers the option to sell the phone at the price they want. I got an S3 four months ago for 615 and I went to the same store today and saw it for 500. There is nothing bad with that, if you use it to your advantage and wait a while to get a great product for 2/3 of the its first retail price.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't like contracts much less with att. This is mostly for people like me that buy off contract and use pre paid that the depreciation of the phone affect us. IMO signing a contract with att or Verizon is like selling your soul for a discount on a device you end up paying triple by the end.

How do you figure it is triple? I have been on At&t since 1994. Not going to change. Have 5 lines with them. Always had great service. It would make no.sense not to get it subsidized for me. Going to to pay same price for service whether off or on contract.
from a galaxy far far away....
The triple is for the overpaying the service (I used to pay 120 more or less monthly on att for the past 5 years now I pay 50 everything unlimited) and if att works for you awesome, but all of this talk about subsidizing strays from the fact that the note devaluates pretty fast.
I've never seen a phone hold value...Technology is constanly upgraded and replacing other models every month..Just the way it is..Computers are worth half as less in about 3 months as well...
Ello mate!
Honestly if you want to sell your note then that's perfectly fine. You don't need to justify your decision to sell to the people on this forum because what is it to them if you sell or keep? Lol I don't know why people get butt hurt over it when it has nothing to do with them. Will they be using the phone or is it for you? Also don't let people's opinions discourage you. The nexus 4 is awesome and I want to get one as well....note is great but i have decided it's just too big for me. I am a very active person and it is actually getting in the way rather than simplifying my life. Can't go running with it. Can't take it to the gym..nope! Can't walk around the gym with the note in my gym shorts lol. I don't want to shell out additional money for another mp3 player.
I agree with you on the resale value. I put mine up on Craigslist for 430 and got so many low ball offers it's ridiculous. I am just going to keep it now ... meh.
I am buying a Note II this week, but only because my corp plan lets me it it for $200. The Spousal Unit would never allow a $750 + tax phone purchase in this house.
If I get $300 for the Note I then I am happy, since it lets me purchase the next upgrade for next to nothing.
That said, I am thinking of holding on to the Note I until December when the official JB comes out. The Note I does lag on stock rom a bit (never tried the custom JB ones), and I want to be able to sell it to non-XDA folks with full S-pen support. I am thinking that the Note I stock experience will be much better in December, and that if I show it to a couple of people I know they will be happier with it then. If an offer comes by before then, I'll let it go at that time I suppose.
My brother just sold his Note for $300 to a guy in Sudbury. He was a bit disappointed as well.
I told him it's a niche phone with low demand in a small market.

Read the important part in red which you missed. If you have ONE LINE, non-contract makes sense in some cases. If you have more than one, nope.
As for the OP's whinge, who cares, everything that isn't a "durable product" devalues fast, think about how many THOUSANDS your car devalues the second it's "used".

100% true! the nexus 4 will be worth nothing as Google drops its price, and I sold one of my skyrockets for 350 on Craig's list so I'd sell my note 1 for $400 up, and I'm in Fl too. Its all about the condition of the phone. If your note is mint like mine you'll sell it for $400 cause people will rather pay $400 for perfect condition than $300 for some old scratched up junk. In 6 mo. Your $350 nexus will be worth $199 or less cause its used. How's that for devaluation.

Buying a note 2 (comment on verizon website)

So I've been thinkign about buying a note 2. Have purchased a razr last year (13 months ago) I'm not elegible for an upgrade; but it has god awful battery life (it predates the maxx; which pissed me off).
-
So I wanted to check verzion final price on the phone; went to website; add it to cart month-to-month; then wanted to see if i could actually purchase it. Nope; have to add a plan (as a side note the plans have been raised to $20 so without discountes the $80 plan is now $100). Wiat this is month-to-month - I don't need (or want) a plan so I hit the chat button. Rep comes on and I tell them the problem. You have to add a plan they tell me. We can always remove it later if you want but to purchase you will need (another) plan. But I don't want a freaking plan I just want the phone. I'm sorry we can't sell you a phone without selling you a plan but ....
-
So not only do they charge more for the phone than any other brand (at&t, sprint, ...) and then they break features on the phone adding their own local hacks (block call and similar); they won't even sell the bloody thing. Maybe that is a hint !
I ran into that too, but I went to a local vz store and bought mine the day they where released with no problem.
You should also realize you don't need to buy your phone from Verizon, there are many other ventures that are selling the Note 2 both oncontract and off.
There site may just be flawed pick it up in store if you need.

Well I was thinking amazon; they tend to be good about return/exchanages if there is an issue and as a company I think i prefer them to verizon.
-
I did find a use one for $450 that is tempting but I won't be going home for a couple of weeks; maybe I'll wait and see if it is still for sale - but i worry a bit about warranty; while $450 is a good price; at $600 or $650 which is more common I think maybe that warrany is worth the few extra dollars.

Sure can if you want to pay $800. Actually they sell it via best buy. There is suppsoe to be a 'developer' version direct from samsung but i couldn't find it on their website; they sure like to hide such things.
You can get the Maxx battery put on your razr. My brother had his done through a company and they even gave him a warranty for it. Just thought I would share. Funny thing is that his phone now says razr maxx under about phone .
Also I noticed a fellow former rezound user, jmorton, nice to still see you around. Remember your name from over there.

You're wasting your time (and money!) trying to buy from Verizon. It's extremely easy to pick one up BNIB from eBay or Craigslist. Worst case scenario you'll save $50. Best case you'll find somebody trying to offload a gift they don't want and save a lot more. Mine, the guy hadn't even taken out of the box. Found on Craigslist, he wanted $575.

Yea, that's me. Good to see you here, I still have two Rezounds.
I really loved that phone but they seem awfully slow and laggy now compared to the N2 when I play with them.
This is kinda funny, I have a 12 year old daughter that plays soccer and I help coach the team. One of the Moms from the team was telling me how much she hated her older android phone and was planning to use an upgrade to buy a new iphone (and lose her unlimited data plan to do it).
I showed her one of the ROMed and highly tweaked/unlocked etc Rezounds and offered to give it to her for free (and she could have kept her unlimited data package). She basically said "no thanks, I never want to see another android phone at this point"
She bought a new iphone the next day and when I asked her a few weeks later how she liked it she responded "I absolutely love it, this is what I should have bought in the first place"

For $575 I might take a chance on it, but there is not a chance I would buy one off ebay or craigs list to save $50 over buying straight from Verizon.
Log in to the site, then it will let you buy it without adding a plan.

To me Iphone users are weird. IOS 6 feels the the same as android but one has to pay for every useful app. Being locked into Apple's web browser and walled garden is crazy. People are ok with it and it blows my mind.

I completely agree and I have an ipad2 (I'm typing on it rightnow)
I bought the ipad way back when they very first came out and it's the first apple product I have ever owned (except my 12 year old daughter has an ipod touch) It is the 64 gig with both WiFi and 3g. I have done Windows mods/repairs etc for years and home build all my PCs.
I really wanted an android tablet but all the android tablets that I tried back then sucked. They where all laggy/slow etc and the ipad just blew them away with its smooth glitch free operation.
I loved the ipad at first but the more I used it, the more the limitations of it really started to annoy me. Now, I hate the thing and would really like to sell it and buy an android tablet but I have so many apps etc in it (it is jailbroken) that I don't really want to dump it either.
The thing that really annoys the living sh** out of me is, I started posting on an apple message board (very similar to this one but only for iphones/ipads/ipods etc.) EVERY SINGLE TIME I tried to get help for something that irritated me about the ipad, I would get flamed like crazy by 50 a-holes claiming the ipad was absolutely perfect just the way it stood and if I didn't like it I was an idiot and should go buy something else.
I couldn't believe it, I was not trolling AT ALL, just asking legitimate questions and most of the posters (who where technically retarded) could not stand for anybody to post even the tiniest criticism of their Apple products.
I sort of addressed this at the start. First the note 2 is $700 at amazon and verizon; the $800 price is via samsung website which uses bestbuy. For $450 or $500 I would be willing to buy it used in the right situation (there was one 'new in box' for $450 but it sold pretty quickly). However at $625-$650 I tink I would rather have the warranty. Locally I've not seen one below $625 and on ebay folks are trying to sell them with cracked screens for > $600.

If that used one was a legitimate sale and not beat up (not a CL scam), it's already sold. That's dirt cheap for a GN2. Even bad esn GN2's sell on eBay for that much. A reasonable price for a like new GN2 will be between $5-600 on CL. More anywhere else online.

A less expensive option from Verizon.
If you are already 12 months or so into a contract with shared data, another option is to get it on a new line ($299) then cancel your old line and pay ETF (approx $230 if you're 12 months into your contract), total $529 plus tax from Verizon with full warranty and support. If you want to keep your old number just port it out to Google Voice.
I considered this when it first came out, and confirmed it would work at my Verizon store, but decided to pay full price to avoid entering yet another new 24 month contract.
Yea I thought of something similar; switching to at&t (I have another thread). The more I look at how these companies work the less I like them; Kind of hope google offers a (good) phone service alternative as is currently rumored. Its not just the prices but on top of the prices the crap they stuff/cram/ram/whatever up the users whatever.

I use Dolphin on Android and they have a web app for IOS as well. There are options, but the majority of android users don't even know they can use a different browser, and they don't even care. The majority of android users don't take advantage of any/all of the features android offers over IOS, so it's not hard to see why IOS is perfectly fine for so many people.

Right time to buy? Still expensive...

Hey guys,
I've never bought the bigger phablet phones... so i'm not sure what to expect in regards to price drops.
I always buy from wirefly because of no tax. Right now, it's still 150$.
Should i be waiting for Note 3 announcement? What price do you think is the right price to "strike"? For instance, the SGS3 is 30$ now in wirefly (has been a while) and i think that is a good time to buy it..
I would get the note 2 now its only 150 it was 300 new you wont be disappointed

The first thing you should do is go to a store that has the note 2 on display and play with it and don't forget to compare it it to the galaxy phones. Now if to have chosen the note as your phone you can keep reading
Here's some perspective on price I paid $600 for the phone to keep my plan. $150 is a very good price for the note 2. Yes it's a big phone, but I've used this phone more than any smartphone before it. Being able to read the screen with ease makes browsing the web, games, books, and emails (work) enjoyable. I've used extended batteries in all my phones and with the one I got on my note it's about as thick as a deck of cards and with my heavy screen use lasts about 3 days. Since the note 3 is going to be even larger in size I'm probably going to stick with my note 2.

Keep an eye on Amazon wireless. I grabbed my N2 last week as an upgrade for $100. It's back up to $180 upgrade price now, but new lines of service are still $100. Love this phone so far!

Is there a way to get the new s20 ultra 5g but to get the program with samsung where you can upgrade every year by trading in your device?

I had a long chat about that. Assuming you're referring to the NEW upgrade program (Access), which is amazing by the way, you just finance over 36 months for now. Once released on the 21st, they will open the program and you can add your device to it. That's what Samsung told me. It's really dumb that it's not available for pre-orders.

Yup that's the one and that sucks because theres so many good discounts right now for preorders but oh well. For the new plan do you have to pay off the entire phone or can you trade it in for the newer version after the 9 months?

It's okay, at least you can still get the pre-order deals and just hop on the program after! I was afraid they weren't gonna let me pre-order. I was told just to finance over 36 months and then they'll add on the reduced Premium Care pricing later when the phone is released (and when I request Access).
I'm gonna upgrade at the next Note release. So I'll pay about $600. But $200 of free stuff that I'll probably flip for money, $60 savings in Spotify that I won't have to pay, PLUS I'm selling my Note 10+ for about $200 more than I owe. So this phone really is gonna end up being quite cheap over the next 12 months!
Edit; misread your question. No, you do not have to pay off the phone. Debt is forgiven when you send in the phone in good condition! 9 months in, 12 months in, whatever! You can even pay $100 fee and upgrade EARLIER than 9 months, send in your phone, and they forgive your debt. It's truly a phenomenal program. They should advertise it more.

No problem! Now we just bank on Samsung not having lied to me! Haha.
I chatted with them for literally an hour. And luckily it was a real person, not outsourced help that copies/pastes blocks of text from the website.
She said she's 100% positive. And said she agrees it is really dumb that it's not available at pre-order time and says she wish she could work the website herself and make things easier and more consumer-friendly. So I'm more inclined to believe her than most of the reps I've spoken with. I saved the conversation to my email just in case they pull some shenanigans. I'd chat with them too. Let me know if you get a different answer! Hah.
She claimed the program allows 30 days from getting the phone before you no longer can join Access. That makes sense to me. So here's hoping that we're all set!
