Works for me - both in the LPB release and now in CM9. You need to hold volume-down and power in for about a second, though.

This feature deff works just hold it a little bit longer than your used to in GB.

Now bizarrely its still power and home for me, on XXLPB. It wasnt when I first installed it, but Ive restored some system files from GB I had backed up in Titantium and its changed to power+home ?!

I got both ways

I can confirm that pressing and holding volume down + power button simultaneously will take a screenshot. It will notify you once it's done (using Westcrip's ICS Remix v9.1)

Same here... Volume down + power makes the job...

It used to work like that for me, but since I upgraded and rooted with KG5 it stopt working. I haven't flashed back stock kernel since the yellow triangle doesn't bother me at all.
Anyone else had this issue?
edit:
after reboot it worked again.....

How to take screeshot ??

i've read in recent posts that pressing power + volume down at the same time for 3 sec would make capture but it's not working in my fone, by doing above my fone changes to silent mode nt any screen capture.

Screen shots on 4.0.4

I think this feature is most neglected in android 4.0 update, i.e. taking screenshots. For those who don't know, how to take screen shots on android 4.0.4 Xperia devices,
just
Hold Volume down button and power button simultaneously for about 2 seconds

I am quite sure, that every person, who noticed that Screenshot feature is no longer in Power menu, know about that

Power + Vol Down in stock ICS, if you are in a custom ROM and it didn't work then ask the developer XD

Of course it works ... in all ICS 4 releases.
You just didn't follow exactly the instructions from v35lee.
Reread and retry until you can do it. It requires a simultaneous click.
On my pad I have to press and hold the buttons (power and volume +) in order to get the screenshot

[Q] how can I take a screenshot now? (ics)

After ics update, the screenshot option seems removed from the power menu,
So how can I take a screenshot?
Power + volume down
Just hold volume down and power button 3sec.
not working for me...

Simultaneous isnt required dude. Hold down Volume Down Key and immediately after that, hold down power key too till screenshot is taken. But delay b/w Volume Key and power key should be less else you'll get the Volume Indication also in the screenshot
Cheers !
Simply screen shot app can do that
