Google Chrome Beta released for ICS! - TouchPad General

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.android.chrome
It says it's incompatible with my Touchpad (maybe it's because of the 132dpi) so can anyone extract it upload the .apk? Thanks.

don't worry pal, got u covered ;-)
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...et-the-chrome-for-android-beta-apk-right-now/

It is compatible, I am using it now. I will post the apk when I get on my desktop. Works really well after 5 minutes of testing. Clicking on a youtube link closes the browser for me though.

installed it on mine from the market - works nice - just like the desktop version so far

Just an FYI if you want to use 132 dpi you should use this to fix the market, however since alpha 0.6 now officially supports 120 dpi (as an add-on option) you are probably better off just using that.
I am running at 120 now and have no issues with this or any other app in the market.

Pretty damn stupid that its only available in less than a dozen countries. Thanks for the side load link

No problem

Works well, unfortunately no flash support due to the fact that Adobe has pulled support. I've found myself using the default browser, I like all the improvements they have added since gingerbread.

wonder where the option to load "desktop" version is
EDIT: nvm, it doesn't support desktop view nor flash
Sent from my Touchpad using Tapatalk

No flash support, and no user agent choice. Not even a "request desktop site". Kind of embodies the reason I felt CM7 was unusable. Beta? Feels like alpha.
Back to ICS Browser + for me. Uninstalled Chrome already.

I really am liking it, running it on my nexus and touchpad. Maybe my chromebook will get a little less use, sadly my touchpad feels twice as fast.

Shame about the Flash support, this is HOT.

So I guess in Android 5.0 this will be the stock browser?

Installed, works(there is some bugs).

Running classicnerd ICS buttah
Somebody has same problems? Let's check if it is chrome bugs or classicnerd's or because of some apps installed.

Yeah, I'm betting that from Jellybean forward this will be the main browser. I think Flash on mobile is really done whether we, or the rest of the web, likes it or not. Once we upgrade out of ICS I don't think we will have Flash anymore. Adobe very begrudgingly updated it for ICS and I'm pretty sure that's the last time they are going to do that. They certainly don't seem willing to make any exceptions here for Chrome mobile.

your problem is that little green guy in the lower right corner! i havent seen anyone use a task killer since froyo! LOL jp
as far as the browser goes it seems a tad slower than the stock browser. if you dont like mobile view you can usually go to the bottom of most web pages and manually select "classic version" like on yahoo.com. i still use the stock browser but once chrome will support desktop view i will for sure switch makes my TP look like a desktop

Even I am having the same problem and no I don't use any task killers . I think we should wait until it gets a final release. How is it working in cm?

I wouldn't be too quick in talking about the death of Flash. There are 10's of millions of sites using flash on the web. It'll take years to change them all. Btw, in all the notices I've read of Flash being developed for ICS, not once did I read a hint of it being grudgingly developed by Adobe. As well, if that was to be the last of Flash development, why are Adobe right as we speak developing Flash Player sandbox for Firefox?

Chrome beta is not running well on this release of buttah. Erratic and some weird stuff. Both are early releases of course.

Full flash support for Fascinate

Hey guys I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THIS just passing on a link this works its confirmed have fun everyone
http://androidgod.net/?page_id=186
*EDIT*-- Its works for some sites but hey one step closer to FULL.
hmm it seems to work on some sites...but not all.
What sites is it working on? I can't find any.
And would it work with the dolphin browser?
Thanks.
Anyone else test this?
Works for some sites as far as i can tell it does not work in Dolphin Browser HD. It is alot more then we had though and like was said before it is one step closer to full, of course Froyo would be a giant leap right to the goal
whatismyflash.com still says version 9.1.122. There was a Flash 10.1 apk that came out a while back that only works on HTC phones running 2.1, like the Eris. This looks like the same apk. I couldn't find a date on the website as to when this was posted, could be months old. The reason it only worked on HTC phones was because of the FlashLite plugin that the HTC browser already had installed. As far as I know, it never worked on any other devices.
It does not work across the boards; in fact it seems to work less than 33% of the sites I've tried it on
What browser do we know it world on so far? I've been using skyfire for a while but if there's another way out there I'd like to try it.

what sites are now working that the flash lite site didnt load?
just because something installs doesnt mean it works...the browser in 2.1 and 2.0 is different than 2.2 so i dont see this actually working...
so did anyone here did a before and after comparison? because i didn't install this yet but when i got to magicjack.com it plays the flash video just with flash lite.
This was supposed to be for HTC phones and if u install this on the HTC phones then you will be able to play games on newgrounds.com. I doubt anyone with Fascinate can play games on newgrounds.com.
Please post proof if you can play games on newgrounds.com
newgrounds work for me but I have some issues touching the game sometimes but I was able to play a few games but hey not full flash anyways so idc

Updated Firefox

Firefox 4 was released for desktop and a mobile update was released today. I'm still messing around with it, but really liking the mobile stuff so far. I think I prefer chrome for desktop use, but may convert to firefox just for the mobile stuff.
You can set up a sync between the desktop and your phone so that you can immediately view tabs that are open on the desktop version. It's a lot like chrome to phone, but MUCH smoother/quicker in my experience. Chrome to phone always seemed to have a bit of a lag that made it annoying at times, so I'm definitely liking this so far.
At the very least, it's worth a try, even if you've used previous versions.
I like it, but still no flash support
Agreed, its double tap zooming is better than any other browser I've tried on Android.

They have also said they don't have a time frame of when/if they will add flash support...
Seems very odd to me. I like the fact I can sync the browser with my desktop but without flash support its almost useless.
Thats funny, I use optionshouse.com which is a flash based trading website (account needed) and it doesn't work in any browser but firefox...
Yeah, I just uninstalled it... feel let down, b/c Firefox is my go to on my pc. Mobile version bites though. After syncing all my bookmarks to DolphinHD & flash mod, I'll be sticking with that.
I'm a LastPass user, so Dolphin has been my only option, but I just saw they released an add-on for Firefox so I downloaded it to give it a try. I found Firefox supper buggy. It was laggy navigating menus and settings, and jittery when inputting text, (though seemed snappy enough loading web pages) and I had 2 FCs inside of 20 minutes... Is anyone else having similar problems? I'm running CM7 PB2.

[Q] Galaxy Tab 10.1 WIFI - Best Root/ROM?

I'm trying to read up and figure out what the best root/rom is for the Galaxy Tab. I'm not new to rooting -- I've got an Evo 4G and a Nook Color both rooted and running custom ROMs.
Really, honestly - I like the Honeycomb in the Tab 10.1, except the Touchwiz launcher. That thing bugs the crap out of me - *it never goes away*. Watch a video in fullscreen? Sure, fullscreen except the launch bar. OH hey, I'll take out the icons, but I'll still be here.
I'm sure I'd probably like ICS at some point, when it's more stable -- but for now, I'd be content with a custom ROM that is honeycomb-like, close to stock - but where I can ditch the touchwiz garbage. Is stable, isn't flaky, or filled with a ****-ton of skulls and retarded sound notifications made by a 13 year old death-head.
So - any suggestions?
edit: as a side note, I want things to work like AllShare, Netflix, Youtube, etc. I've used different DLNA apps in the past, and frankly I think Allshare is the smoothest of the bunch. Sucks that we don't have Hulu+ for the tab, but I can do without that.

Just got it flashed and everything appears to be working just fine aside from the camera (which is mentioned in the post regarding this ROM), but other than that... It's pretty smooth, man. Not gonna lie.

Opera nor Chrome work on our ICS or JB roms yet. Again, its a known driver issue that will be remedied when official ICS hits from Moto. In the meantime, I've found ICS Browser + to be a great alternative as well as Quick ICS Browser.

The fact is that since the facebook app doesnt work well with my internet, id like a browser that let me use facebook as the mobile site, not the touch site(as seen on the normal browser)
If you would know of an app that let me use it as the mobile app it would be greatly appreciated
I got it flashed to cricket and i have only 1x data...thats why browsing with opera was more suitable for my 1x

Both of the browsers I told you about support user agent switching. In the settings of each, there will be a user agent option, switch it to mobile and away you go. You could also try out boat browser. Or better yet, if you want a dedicated Facebook app that loads much faster than the official Facebook app, try out friendcaster.

thanks i will try Boat Browser right now, wish it helps and if not im just gonna have to wait for an official release for opera, it was stated that it had jelly bean compatibility on the latest update but i guess it doesnt work 100%

Pretty sure its in the settings somewhere. Have you tried just going to m.Facebook.com then bookmarking that? I know for a fact that boat browser has that option. And opera is compatible will ICS and JB 100 percent. The reason it doesn't work for us is solely due to our lack of proper 2d libs and the way in which opera renders.

i have read that the reason why opera looks different is because it uses a proxy setting, thats why in my school i can use facebook with the campus' wifi, but just cant find another browser that makes facebook look like i want to, and i had tried all those and it stills give me the touch site(m.facebook.com)
the one im looking for, is apparently the old version of Facebook on browsers, like old phones used to have it.
as you can see on the picturees, the one on the ipod(broken screen) is the one im looking for
and the one in my photon is the one that appears on all the rest of the browsers

New opera browser, optimized for 4.3 and scales on high res devices

Long time aosp browser user here, this thing is my new daily driver, absolutely in love with it. Based on chrome, but it actually works and it doesn't lag/stutter. Tabs are awesome too!
I hope I'm not breaking any rules here, but for some reason opera doesn't make their browser available on google play for our devices, so here is a download link for the latest vesrion.

No such problems here. Don't use the 2013 theme, use the latest beta one or a previous version. The old 2010 works best imo, both in terms of qualitty and usability.
I admit the performance of the opera browser is indeed super smooth. However I feel it produces more heat and consumes more power, compared to Chrome and Dolphin when used for a similar period of time.
