Just for the people that aren't in the eligible countries!

its ok, there are quit a bit of graphical bugs that makes it unusable for me on a daily basis, still a great start!

Using this atm

support for ICS only?
I've downloaded this app to my htc glacier running "creamed-glacier" rom and got an error message saying "Chrome is not supported for your version of Android. Version 4.0 (ICS) is the minimal supported version." However, since my phone isrunning the creamed glacier rom which is version 4.0.3, shouldn't I be able to run this app? Any ideas? Thanks.

I believe the build.prop file needs to be edited for this.
From:
ro.build.id=GWK74
TO
ro.build.id=IML74K

very interesting... i just received an update from the market for Chrome Beta, then after the update i'm now able to use this app. i guess i don't have to update the build.prop file after all. but thanks for the info

Its possible they received complaints from CM9 users and decided to remove the ro.build.id check.

Chrome for Android Beta has been updated to 0.16.4301.233 (Chrome 16.0.912.77). Primarily focused on bug fixes, this update addresses issues in the compatibility check which prevented Chrome from starting up on some versions of Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.
Known issues:
112923 : No way to toggle between mobile/desktop UA
113140 : Youtube links do not prompt for which application to use
113132 : Chrome for Android beta doesn't support configured proxy in wi-fi settings

[Q] Market Apps Missing

I am one of those that stuck with bult 69XX (the leaked rom) instead of the official 8105 build.
I am however using the buil.prop from the official version and still have some apps still not showing up in my market.
The most prominent being Google Earth.
I've tried the usual: clear kalvik-cache, wait 24 hours, reboot with no luck.
Can anyone that updated their streak through the official channels that has not rooted it confirm they can actually see google earth in the market?
I'd like to know if I'm chasing ghost so I can give up seeing as I actually do have google earth installed through a direct APK link.
If you CAN see it, please state what build, any customisations and if you're rooted ot not

[APP] New 'Experiments' Gmail Feature Shows Up In Android 4.0.3

Download: New 'Experiments' Gmail Feature Shows Up In Android 4.0.3 - IT'S ONLY FOR ICS 4.0.X
Here's How To Get it On Your Android 4.0+ Device
[Updated x3] just before the download link.
It has been two weeks since Android 4.0.3 started rolling out to the Transformer Prime, which made it the first tablet to officially receive the update.
In Android 4.0.3, however, a new Gmail feature has been uncovered by ComputerWorld that is noticeably missing in its 4.0.2 brother: experiments. Sounds dangerous, no?
If you want to read more => News from AndroidPolice
Update #1: We just tried it out on Honeycomb (3.2) and it worked just fine.
Update #2: The apk <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="13" android:targetSdkVersion="14" />, meaning Honeycomb 3.2 is an absolute minimum.
Update #3: Gmail runs on 3.2, but force closes upon opening emails, so we wouldn't recommend installing it on 3.2 after all (go to Settings > Application > Gmail > Uninstall updates to revert if you've already installed it).

[Q] Download older versions of Apps ? (Qualified apk site)

Hi everyone. I'm new on android so this issue confuses my mind. If i have to download an older version of an application, how can i find an older version of it. For instance the newest version of "A" application is 2.2.1. But i want to do downgrade/download the older version for instance 2.1.0. How can i get it? From apk sites or such like that?
If so what is the widest and best apk sites for this to download ??
Thanks for your replies...
contact the app developer and ask for it is probably the easiest/quickest route

Thanks for your reply firstly. But i asked this question as a general knowledge. Before my new android phone, i was using the iOS and i know how to do it. (i knew the .ipa sources and methods) Also i did it sometimes. But in android i dont know any quality apk sources for instance for older versions of some base applications (that has receive lots of updates) whatsapp, instagram, facebook etc...
Many of the apk sites will be no more than Warez sites .
Google is always your best source of apks bearing in mind the above .
Possibly a search or an ask on XDA .
Old versions is not something normally asked for .
jje
all the apps on play store have email contacts, so I would just email them direct

[Q] Android gmail application

Hi,
I am looking for information on how to get the Gmail apk freely available without using Android market.
I have two custom android devices with no access to market - one running Android 2.1 and another running Android 4.1.
I would like to get 2 versions of the Gmail.apk -
1. Older one which is compatible with Android 2.1
2. Latest one
I am using my own build made from the AOSP code on these devices - android market is disabled in the build.
Also what is the procedure/licencing for packaging the Gmail.apk as part of your own build from the Android AOSP code ?
Thanks.

Just what we were waiting for, well done!
"Unfortunately, Chromium application was stopped." Android 5.1
Browsing works great, thanks a lot.
I have a problem though syncing bookmarks. Does it work for you guys? I can connect to an account but always get a red error message telling me there are currently sync problems. Tried that on my note3 and with other accounts as well but without success.

Sync API is not supported on third party Chromium distributions. This is Googles decision to block access.

Working, thanks a lot.
Awesome how fast this browser is. Nice Work! :good:
This is awesome, it works great on my Acer a500 running 4.4.4 omnirom.
I just switched to chomium after Firefox, Opera Mini and the build-in browser gave me problems under 6.0.1 on my p4wife 7510 tab.
Works like a charm and it's fast! Thanks a lot!
How to change the Download location ? on P4 with 'Internal Storage' he has a problem with NO SDCARD ...
Did you grant storage access for chromium?
Thank you very much for your work! Continue in the same vein on ASUS TF101 (tegra2) android 4.4.4 everything works great.
Chromium browser does not have a native google translator.
What to do?
Thanks for your work. It's the best browser for Tegra2 devices. Is it possible to create an Android 4.0.4 APK as I went back to the stock ICS firmware? Thanks!
I've compiled a Bromite version of Chromium. See their website for the list of features.

This one is working nicely on a Galaxy Tab 10.1 wifi updated with the 7.1.2 AOSP Nougat. I updated from linux laptop with heimdal to install twrp, then from twrp to install custom ROM. I'll be trying your 8.0 Oreo someday.
I couldn't install the previous builds, I tried a few one up to build 65, verified the md5, etc... Got error "Can't open file" when launching the apk from the downloads app... Maybe I did something wrong, as I'm new to alternative android ROMs.
Is there an index wich lists those specific tegra2 apps somewhere ? I found a few with search, but no centralized list.
So thanks a lot, keep up the good work !
Seems to work very nice! Thank you.
Is there any chance we can use it as WebView too? I would like to use a Fullscreen Browser App on my Tab for my Homeautomation System.
The recent versions of Chromium don't work. There's some issue that doesn't render the page. So that will be end of these browser releases.
@lanwin: there isn't a way to use a custom webview. The only browsers that can work as webview are the ones that Google releases on Play store but those aren't compatible with non-NEON devices.
I've found a way to make it work so this is alive again.
There are two patches of the bromite build which aren't compiling so they aren't included:
Code:
BRM045_Remove-help-menu-item.patch
BRM050_Canvas-fingerprinting-mitigations-for-image-data-and-webGL.patch
