Liquipel I777 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Has anyone sent their Galaxy S ii(I777) to Liquipel? I know it's not an option on their list of phones but they still let you send your device. I sent my device on Friday and will receive it back this week, you guys interested in knowing that if it actually works? Ill post up a video of my Galaxy S ii I777 getting ''Wet'' on.

Update! I just posted a video on my Liquipiel-ed Device.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-MQEXOVMok&feature=youtu.be

Looks interesting but since I got my very first dumbphone I never had problems with getting water on it.
It opens up possibilities, but nothing I need at the moment.
Passing it on to my foolish friends though, so thanks for that!

No problem!

So it makes it water resistant but not proof right?

I saw a product similar to this years ago when it was still in testing, and I thought it looked awesome. (Showed a guy playing with an iPhone 3G underwater).

Wasn't there a video recently of a guy with a GSII that he put in a bucket of water and called his phone? I seem to remember that it lit up and displayed normally.

Yeah I've actually been waiting to see if this catches on.. Good stuff!
sent from my Galaxy SIII ...haha jk, I FOiLed ya!

I want see more reviews as its really new. But This is real. And does work. Here is how.
Hydrophobic nanocules are applied via vacuum. Thus coating the outside AND INSIDE from water molecules (which are bigger than the nanocules) thus can't get in and create a conduction.
It is rated itx-7 meaning it is waterproof to up to 30min at 1 meter (3feet) depth... Jeez. So i wanna go swimming with it

But if you DO drop your phone in a pool or the toilet, you'll be out more than $70 and a week anyway.

Its not meant for warranty purposes.. This is just for anyone that wants to protect their device from water damage.
Im sure it voids the warranty..
*edit* .. I think they are also trying to get in with (somebody.. I forget, but they mentioned it at CES).. so that phones come with the Liquipel protection - which is a great idea but than the suppliers end up losing money because of not having to replace asany phones.. Not sure how it all works but somebody loses potential mula

i played with this stuff at CES this year. It was Fascinating! They used the stuff on a Napkin and had it sitting in a pool of water. When you pushed the napkin around in the water it never got wet and just rolled off (unless you were extremely harsh with it).
Quite impressive to see. You could also see the water interacting with the screen as it splashed against it (showing that its not just a "fake" cover)

Requiescat in pace

Today I dropped my CDMA E3D to the WC in public toilet. It immediately sank and I wasn't going to rescue it (imagine a guy in a public toiled digging in WC with a stick searching for goodies).
I'm never going to put any phone in my breast-pocket anymore.
Just wanted you to know, if something bad happened to you today, my day was a lot worse.

Yea it does, but I'm not really upset, I practically wasn't using it since CDMA network is not available in my country. Don't ask me where did I get it then, it's a long story.
Well, at least my GSM E3D is fine and it's on my table, not somewhere deep in ****.
:Butthead Voice: huh huh huh, you said breast.......
Seriously though. That sucks man Sorry to hear it. Atleast the GSM still works

Dude buy a tranny from a wrecker for like 1/4 that price. Usually you get a year or 10k warranty with them. I've had friends do this and 3 years later they are still running strong.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Considering they've already taken the time to take my tranny out, disassemble it, and diagnose it, I'll give them the business. I am very aware that I could get a cheaper and possibly better deal elsewhere, they've already put a bunch of time into it and they should be rewarded. That's just my belief and of course, YMMV.
That what you get for an auto tranny

I would stick my hand in that toilet so fast....
I dropped my old Palm Centro into a cup of water, it fully submerged, and as I pushed my hand in the screen started flashing and then shut off. I took it out, yanked the battery as fast I could(if you had a centro you know how hard it was to pull the battery cover) and then let it dry for a day. The next day I stuck the battery back in and it powerd up nice and worked fine. The only problem was there was a water spot under the screen that dried and it looked like a little smudge spot

I dropped my Note

So to make a long story short my note fell out of my pocket today while I was helping out at a fundraiser car wash. No major damage done but just a small nick and scratch on the top right corner on the screen and outside. The actual functionality of the phone is fine and I can probably live with it but this small damage is going to eat away at me. So I want to know if I call att and complain about something wrong with my phone will they replace it? I have ensquared insurance and I don't want to use my $75 deductible yet.
And I've had the phone for over 30 days too

I think though that once the damage is seen you'll get charged.

First of all I was heading up the car wash to raise money for kids to go to a summer camp. I actually brought my atrix with me to swap sim cards but I left it in my car parked across the street. While running across the street it feel out of my pocket. Big picture I am grateful that no major damage was done but also that we all should be mindful how big this phone is and how easy it is to forget. Either way I've decided to just ride it out because any case that wraps around the phone will cover it up.

I cracked my screen I believe by sittiing on on it while in my back pocket. I called Samsung and they would replace the screen fro $197.00. Since I have a Square Trade warranty, I caledl and they could not fix the display so they gave me the full cost to replace it minus $49 decuctible.

Somebody died swallowing water, that does not make the water poisonous.
There are 10.000.000 s3's out there, apart from the suspicion the exploded phone was microwaved, chances are that 1 out of that many apples contain a worm, 1 out of that many cars have a bad tail pipe. Etc.
Get insurance. Done. And even if it does explode within the first year, Warranty is there. After that? Insure with provider.

Actually, within the EU the warranty is two years, if you didn't already know. (Check the warranty booklet if you don't believe me)
I'm always surprised how few people know this since all manufacturers provide it. Everyone just assumes it is one year.
Might not apply to OP (since there's no location), but just making sure no one gets ripped off buying an "extended warranty" for after the 1st year. Accident insurance is not the same though, and may well be worth it.

That is surprising to me. Mine has flown off my lap on onto the street when getting out of the car, fell out of my coat pocket onto the ground, dropped it from a ladder while painting, and dropped it numerous times at home on the floor. Never broke or cracked or nothing. I have a case but never use it. This phone is nice and slim, the case made it too damn bulky.
If you're going to toss it I'll take it. It would be a good experiment phone.

I'm just really surprised to see so many DNA breaks from dropping it. In fact I have never cracked a screen, knock on wood. My old Droid Razr was pretty durable too. Now my daughters ipod touch broke if you looked at too hard, haha JUNK
The DNA is supposed to have triple gorilla glass too. I wonder if some of these are refurbished with fake junk digitizers? The screens should not be shattering that easily.

I had to get a replacement for my DNA, which came with the OTA, due to battery issues. I was looking forward to getting a phone with the old software and when the replacement came it had the old OS; but that had to go back due to the power button being concaved, so it was flush with the top, blown speaker and a dead pixel; and this was how it came out of the box! (100+ point inspection my a$$). The next replacement came and it too had the old software but wouldn't connect to WiFi. I received the third replacement yesterday and it was perfect, but the OTA was pre-installed. Hope you get not only the old software version but also a workable phone.

You can keep it, but don't sell it. When you report your phone lost, the carrier gives it a bad ESN.

well i suppose so yes it could be outside of the boundaries of the insurance agreement but i pay a subsidy and an insurance fee for a reason. I could claim the phone was stolen swap the motherboards and sell the broken unit to cover the insurance premium but i wont be doing that. I see no harm no foul. They will be recieving a perfectly functional peice of hardware in the exact condition I reported during the claim... to each his own though
If you swap the motherboard you will be converting the new Dna to the old esn that you just reported lost... So you are just giving yourself a bad esn. Lol
Also its fraud but whatever you want to do

What type case was your DNA in when this happened?

So I have insurance through a 3rd party. Not Verizon or Asurion. They give me and address of somewhere in MI and want me to send it there to be fixed.

Didn't I post a link with a video? It seems really easy to fix, that's why I wanted it. I even put an ad on craigslist. If you report it lost or stolen you could always "find it again" and they can reverse the bad ESN. My cousin bought a bad ESN phone from ebay. Verizon ended up calling the original owner and he went ahead and released it, they made the ESN good again. I don't know all the details but that's what he told me, sometime last year.
Hmm options, how much will it cost? Since the phone has to be sent away and cracked open anyway, buy the digitizer and send it to be jtagged, 2 birds with one stone. It might cost you a little more but you will be golden in the end. Fixed phone and S-off.

Best Customer Support call ever!

So, I have my Galaxy Note 2 rooted, my own mods and themes, with CLEANROM ACE 4.7 (updating to 4.8 now)
I JUST got this replacement phone a couple days ago, and I HATE getting a phone that isn not up to par with my standards which are:no blemishes or defects
I got off work and now I keep have signal issues. It is not from the root, or ROM because I factory rest wipe cache, dalvik, and wiped the ROM. So I called Customer Support.
The call ended up being almost an hour (the replacement took 5 minutes to send out)
Turns out the man I was talking to was a big techie.
I told him how I was tired of getting phones with physical defects and he said it's not Verizon's fault they're not in the phone making business, which is true. He told me "you know you've had 34 replacements and you didn't have to pay a thing. We're here to provide excellent customer service. No phone is perfect and if they were, I wouldn't have a job. So you have pretty much tried everything. There is another way you can go and if you want, ROOT your device that way you can be like "screw your software I want my own"
After he said that The call just went on and on. Turned out to be pretty good.
So for those of you that blame Verizon for all of your issues, blame the manufacturer.
Bucket List
101: Have a Verizon representative tell you to root your device : CHECK
102: Have a Verizon representative say Apple monopolizes their phones and will not pay them : CHECK
Awesome

Cool story and nice to hear support for rooting phones from a Verizon source. ...but 34 replacements? What's that all about?

34 replacements? Wow, how many of those are because you bricked your phone?

They will tell you...its your device. do what you please. This is not the first time i've heard a story like this...
After 34 devices you don't think it was the rom you installed? ?

Verizon likes to send me phones that have physical defects. One time they sent me one with a dented bezel and I wrote on a piece of paper "Learn how to inspect yours phones. I'm disappointed" stuck it under a screen protector and sent it back. Ever since then, samsung is making the bezels out of a different plastic and finish that does NOT crack.

It's going to get scratches and dings unless you wrap it in bubble wrap and never touch it. It's just a phone. There are better things to be obsessed over.
Also, I'm hoping that you don't believe your piece of paper made such an impact that they changed the bezel material.
You have a serious problem if you've needed 34 replacements in your life.
Issues, bro. Issues.

Wait, wow.... 34 replacements of the SAME phone? Now thats wild... I work at Verizon and I've never seen that before. What makes the phone so bad? Ive had/done plenty of certified like new replacements and never had a defect except 1 phone that had a bad AMOLED screen.

completely agree lol..
and did u ever think that maybe the reson your having bad service etc. is cuz your running a rom based off the international note2's code.. thats missing a ton of verizon specific network code etc.. just saying
I was at a pub with my girl and pointed to an angry looking dude all by himself looking at everybody. Envious. I told her that's the kinda guy that trolls forums and talks down to everyone who posts. She asked what I meant. I showed her this thread.
