[Q] Android application to wireless control a powerwall - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,.
I've been set a project to design a basic application for our powerwall (28 connected high res monitors) and design an android application to control the powerwall through the android phone.
Im told the powerwall must use OpenGL..what does this exactly mean?
Can anyone run me through the stages ill need to go through and how i would get my andorid application to talk to the linux pc?
More details of the system or implementation can be provided if you need it.
Any help big or small would be amazing.
Thankyou,
Tom

[Q] Can I send TTS over the phone line?

Hi all, I'm new here. Didn't get any hits on this when I searched.
I want to be able to have the TTS engine on an Android phone direct its output over the line of an active phone call. Are there any apps that can do this? If not, is it technically possible on the Android platform. I've seen it done on Windows desktop systems, but haven't found anything for Android. Thanks!

[Q] Help developing a simple Java Android App

Hey everyone, my name is Ian. I'm kind of new here, at least in a participatory role as wiki master of the Photon 4g's Sunfire dev team/collaboration. I have some talent in the world of web coding, but I'm useless at real programming.
I also have a rather nasty addiction to the world of flight simming, mostly as stand in for real flight time that I'm trying to orchestrate as I work towards a private pilot's license. Anyways, my program I use for flight simulation is X-plane and lacks in 3rd party applications that it can interface with, especially on the Android side. I would like to help to put together an Android app that can work with the sim and control basic functions. My current goal is to control radio systems and autopilot functions. To interface with the sim, I plan to use the Simulator Control System which is based on the CAN Aerospace protocol. This is cross sim application, so whatever works with X-plane will also work with Microsoft flight sim. I've been looking at the website, http://cross-simulator.com/, and I think that this seems like a fairly easy task. All the functions and commands are well documented and supported (there is even an example android code), I just don't know how to start. If anyone in this great community has some advice, I'd love to hear it because I really have no clue.
Thanks, and happy dev'ing
I would just download the example, import it in Eclipse and run it on the Android emulator (assuming you have downloaded and installed the Android SDK). Later, you can tweak the example code as you become more comfortable.

[Q] Android equivalent to the iPhone Configuration Utility

Hi all,
I work as the Executive IT Support person in my company, and part of this role includes configuring mobile devices for a select group of end users.
For iOS devices, this has been easy thanks to a combination of a Mac Mini Lion Server, iOS Config Util, and the iOS Configurator.
I was just wondering if there was something similar available for Android devices. Main things that need to be configured are passcode settings, WiFi(including proxy settings), Email(Exchange), and VPN.
Is there an application that can do this, or can config profiles be hand coded and loaded onto the device?
We don't yet have an enterprise level Mobile Device Management solution in place yet (although we should have had one implemented a LONG time ago - we have 4000 staff members!).
Any help is much appreciated as this would make my job a bit easier.
Thanks

[Q] Light Rom, is it possible?

Hi guys!
I wonder if it would be possible, creating one of those rom:
-First idea, create a ROM, with an ultra light stack, that will allow small application with a different language than the Android Wear SDK. The purpose is to lower the impact of the OS on the hardware, an that way enhance the battery time (same way has the Pebble OS does).
-Second Idea, create a rom based on the Android Wear rom, but simplified to boot only an app like "Wear Internet Browser" at startup, and then beeing abble to create small application using html/js/css (ease the app devlopment time versus the actual Services/Messages/Activity Java stack...). And letting more possibilities for the developer on how to handle the watch launcher.
Does some of you have any idea of the feasibility of those idea? And what type of knowledge does it require?
Any tutorial or documentation you would recommend me to start?
(My abilities are stuck to Android app developement, but I'm interessted to learn how to make my own rom)

Hard to build a project using Android Studio

I think best way is to learn anything about Android Studio is via Android.com developers training section. I am a CS student and I have just started it. It is pretty useful and there are answers for all basic queries. Next stop is stackoverflow if you do not find answer there.
