Nova launcher (trans icons) - HTC Rezound

I posted this in the nova launcher thread "Can someone please tell me why this launcher doesn't recognize transparency? I just want to use custom icons in the dock without having a black background."
I got responses from multiple people stating that they are able to use transparent icons. I imagine this is only rezound specific. Anyone else having this issue?

So no one else has this issue?

I'm bumping this because I'm also curious, the 3 default dock icons are transparent, but I cannot for the life of me get my own to come up transparent. They come up fine in LauncherPro so I know they are transparent.
*edit*
OP, I figured it out, I don't know why exactly, but when I chose browse files instead of browse gallery they come up transparent.

I think this is rezound specific due to screen resolution maybe. On my galaxy tab I can choose from gallery and transparency works fine, but not on my rezound. I will use select file instead.

I'm using custom icons with transparent backgrounds in my Nova dock. I do see a faint(very very very faint) box around some icons but I can kick that out in editing.

[Q] HTC Sense Dock Skin

Hello, i use the Xperia X10 with the 2.1 Honeycomb Rom, now i have the HTC Sense Lockscreen and the Widgets, but i miss the Dock, like that.
I use the GO Launcher and i´m looking for this dock, i hope you can help me, sorry for my english, i know it is not perfect.
Hi hoe do u Guys get a htc skin??
That everything looks like htc??
Please let me know
on launcherpro or adwlauncher with the 5 icon dock, make the left most icon for app drawer and the right most icon for browser. the middle 3 are for phone. you can find dock sins in the android theming section
Hope this helps
You have 2 method to imitate HTC.
Download HTC Sense set and use wallpaper and dock to set backgrounds. And use transparent icon to set your links to icon so you will have exactly as preview.
Download separate dock and make something of your own.
Im not sure Go launcher features, but ADW Ex and launcher pro is capable for this.
Cheers

how to change launcher pro menu icons?

i've been trying to use themes, and noticing that with launcherpro, after you press menu on the home screen, some of the icons don't change along with the new theme. as such, the search, notifications, and preferences icons don't change. does anyone have a way to fix this?

You have to touch a blank spot on the screen. A menu will pop up, hit shortcut then applications. Pick your app then click on the icon and it well ask if you want the default icon or a custom one. You should be able to use any pictures you have in your gallery. You can also google png (fill in the blank) icon pictures and then download them to your sd card.
No he's talking about the icons for the menu options. When you press menu on the homescreen. I believe its because some of the icons call on the system default icons (the default in your case being whatever theme your using) and some come with the app. I think you would have to open the apk and swap out the .pngs with the icons you want to use.
I think...I've never done this, so hopefully someone will come in and fill in the holes that my ignorance couldn't.

yea thats what i meant. here's what it looks like currently. its a honeycomb theme with bionix 1.3.1 and using launcherpro. you can see that some of the icons are the new blue ones, but the rest didnt change.
i tried using ninjamorph to change the the icons, the blue ones are in system/framework, but i dont know where the notification, search, and preferences ones are located. anyone have any clue?
Those specific ones should be located with in the launcher pro apk, if im thinking about thi s correctly. you will need to resign the apk after making my modifications for it to work. Hope this helps

[Q] How to change icons in app drawer?

Seems this has been asked before and no one has answered. Yes icons on the home screen/dock can be changed easy. But the icons in the dock are not so easy. When I download a custom theme for cm7 like stygian black fade, it changes about half of the icons (like handcent), so I know it can be done. I'm using ADW EX and a cm7 kang. I cant find any good guilds on how to make a theme similar to stygians black fade. Editing the original program .apk is not an option as many don't allow it. Creating a folder is also not an option, its just avoiding the issue which can be fixed.

Minimalistic Text/Icon set up

Ok I am running Miui with adw launcher ex and I am trying to make a clean theme with minimalistic text. I cannot seem to get the minimalistic text widget to lay flush with the screen however. (see below pic) The right side and the bottom will not lay flush with the screen. I have seen plenty of screens look sooo clean using miui and minimalistic text and adw launcher but I cant for the life of me figure out how to get this set up going. Also it seems that when people make this clean themes that their icons are spaced closer together and I would like to know how to do that to if anyone who customizes their phone in this manner knows how. I would really appreciate and answer at the very least on how to make the widget lay flush with the screen. Any help on these kinds of customizations though are welcome!
Good Luck!
Although I can't help you with the widget touching all sides (I've had that problem, it sucks) I can help you with getting your icons closer together. Some where in the settings of ADW Launcher (Maybe like Homescreen or Icons) In there look for something that says, "Rows and Colums" and adjust them to your liking. On default, most android phones are set up at 4x4.
It's because you are hiding the dock. For whatever reason the alignment is off when the dock is hidden. I've emailed them about it but no reply..

Wallpaper size (single screen)

Hey all,
Maybe it's a stupid question but I want this guys screen on my S3
http://ihadapony.deviantart.com/#/d5k67o3
He made it for the Nexus 4, so I have to remove the empty bar. But I was wondering how I should resize it for the S3?
thx
hi
nice WP
i would suggest you just copy it to your device and set it with an app like
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.juggler.CropWallpaper
or
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...lvcm9tby5hdXRvbWF0aWNzZXR0aW5nd2FsbHBhcGVyIl0.
good luck !
Thanks
it worked, love the wallpaper!
Now I just need to find a transparent icon. The one I have is not completely transparent because I can see them.
transparent icon for what app ?
something like this?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jy.iconchanger.ad
To put icons on top of the wallpaper
Took a screenshot, you can clearly see that the transparent icon I have isn't really transparent.

i guess your'e talking about the dock icons.
first you need to create a transparent icon, i would suggest photoshop but the most important thing is to save the file as PNG oppose to GIF\JPG.
other thing is to make sure you have a launcher which supports it.
