[SOLVED] E10i bricked after flashing E10_nAa-11_2.6.29.6-nAa-11.ftf - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hi,
My X10 mini (E10i) was rooted some months ago.
I decide to install miniCM7.2, so I succesfully unlock the bootloader, then kernel flashing appears to be ok, but when I reboot it, it show a new big logo, and after a while, a kind of animated background was visible. But it loop indefinitely on this animation, freeze, screen become blank, then reloop ...
I can't reboot it, I can't remove the batterie (it's hidden into the device)
Help !

I will, but for the moment it loop but it probably not reboot in loop, since I seen the logo once. And now it's only the screen animation that run 2 seconds, stop, black screen, and loop on screen animation with different colors

Re-flash to stock.
Make sure you garbed the correct downloads.. re-read instructions.

unlocked bootloader? While in bootloop zone, press and hold power button + middle button.phone should reboot, and u can go to recovery and install ROM

Again, how to reflash in the current situation ?
The good news is that flashtool detect the phone, but I can't reflash because I can't shutdown the phone ...

Do first things what i say, if that not work, u should reflash to stock rom with SEUS, with repair mode.

I miss your first post. In fact I wait all the night that battery become empty, and run flashtool, push foward and plug. I probably wait 5' that the phone has enought energy, then flashtool detect the phone and flash it with the stock kernel.
And it's works !!!!
note: the colored screen animation that was looping, was in fact the Sony Ericson logo presentation during the boot

Thanks. This has worked to reinstall a ROM on my SE Xperia X10 Mini

Hey there,
I have a similar problem here, but I can't solve It.
Did a Hard Reset by pressing the Power key and Home Key. I also tried to click the Reset button under the phone cover near the IMEI codetag thing.
I have tried to use the X10FlashTool, SEUS (it only says that i have the newest software already)
When I try to start the phone all i can see is a black screen and nothing else.
Any more solutions i can try?

[Q] ST15i probably bricked (Stock ROM cannot be flashed anymore)

Dear All,
I beg your help for solving the following problem (already browsed for similar topics, no luck).
Here a brief history of the mess I have been doing:
I had installed Cyanogenmod (Worked)
I had flashed back a Stock ROM (ST15i_4.0.A.2.368__GENERIC_(1244-2098).ftf) (Worked)
Even though I knew that was not a good idea, I updated the software (as requested by android) (Bricked)
I have tried to re-flash using the same Stock ROM has worked before, with the result you can read below.

The Symptoms are the following:
Device not booting, when pressing the power button the phone vibrates for one second, nothing happens. The green light blinks.
When connecting the phone to the PC, it immediately starts the flashmode
When trying to connect it in fastboot mode (blue light) nothing happens. After releasing the up volume button, the phone connects in flashmode
When trying to use PC Companion, I get a window asking for unplugging the phone, remove the battery, insert the battery again and reboot. It does not reboot
When being connected with the PC, the phone exits and reenters the the flashmode each 1 minute.
I know I am just the N-th noob asking for help, but any hint is highly appreciated!

Luca

Hey Someguyfromhell,
you made my day, my mobile phone is alive again
There is still one question, is there a solution to allow the updates to be installed again? Maybe by relock the bootloader or using the PC Companion?
Thanks a lot again!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16659481&postcount=33 and look in the post for D) Relocking.
Seems, that if you used test point method, you can also relock via S1tool.
After that you can reflash stock firmware.
Almost same symptoms
Hi, I also think I've bricked my st15i.
What I've done:
-Unlocked bootloader
-Rooted
-Flashed custom rom
-Everything was working
Then with no reason, the phone started rebooting. It managed to boot and after 10sec - 1min it restarted again.
To solve this I:
- flashed stock rom and it stopped rebooting but as soon as I plugged it off the usb it rebooted and could not boot (it was looping sony logo and back).
- flashed other stock firmware, the same results
- now when connecting it to pc it goes directly to flashmode
- I can enter fastboot mode as well
- When pressing power button green led blinks
- tried flashing stock firmware again and then both the xperia_relock_bootloader.ftf and Xperia 2011 Range_FreeXperia_ALL.ftf with no results
- when connected to pc it goes only to flashmode (Can't make it to start)
- when pluged in the socket it starts looping up to sony logo
- when not pluged at all when I press power button, green led blinks
I hope you can make any sense out of this because I can't, and I've been trying solutions the past 36hours!!
Please...help!!

[Q] [HELP] bricked X10i

Hello,
I've tried to install a custom rom ([ROM] SE X10i MM TEAM MiUI 2.3.30 ML), but after installing, the phone didn't boot, stucks at SE logo. I can't start xRecovery, and if I try to start in recovery/flash mode, the green led appears, my computer recognizes it, then after 1-2 secs it disappears and loses the USB connection, so I can't start in recovery mode! And the SE PC Companion restore mode don't works.
Sorry for the bad english.
What does the pc companion say?. Have you tried to reflash your x10 with flashtool?
Sent from X10
Use this tool forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415600
I can't use flashtool, because I can't start my phone in recovery/flash mode. I push the back button, then plug in the usb cable, the green light appears, the flashtool recognizes the phone, after 1-2 secs the green light disappear and the phone loses the USB connection, and the flash tool says "Error flashing aborted.".
The PC comp. can't download the update and it says that I have to visit the support site.
I did factory reset and formatted all the caches before installing the rom.
So, I was able to start it in recovery mode. But the PC companion still not working. When I try to flash with FlashTool, i get this:

Try to flash the stock ROM via SEUS (it will guide you step by step). Then root your device, install Busybox and xRecovery.
If you still want to have a custom ROM installed, make sure folders: system, data, cache & sdcard are mounted in xR - boot into xR, choose Partition Tools, mount all the folders. Then install the ROM.
Hope that will help you.
Greetings
Ohh, thank you very much, it worked!

x10i refuses to turn on

I followed these steps
(1) Install .71 Baseband (link) with newest Flashtool (link) - you may use another baseband at your own risk but there is no support, we only test (because we only have) on Baseband 2.1.71 X10i
(2) After Flashtool says "Disconnected" then "Reconnected in Flash Mode", REMOVE CORD and BATTERY and wait ten seconds!

I think that you have rpoblems with getting into flash mode, tri it with different was, prepare everything as decribed before and do notconnect the phone to computer and wait for dialog which is waiting to connect phone with animation and steps how to it.
Do NOT connect phone to PC. Take out battery, put it back. COnnect usb cable to the phone, not second part of cable to PC. Press the Back button and hold it. Then push power on (back button still on hold), green diode will blink for a while. Then you can connect phone to PC and it will enable flash phone flawlessly.
hjoray, it conects in flashmode!)
but something went wrong...when everything is finished, phone should reboot but it simply stays off

when i turn it on it only shows white se logo then turns off and red led blinks 3 times
and every time it makes some crackly sound before turning off

Hmm, this doesnt looks good - i think that you will need to reflash the complete ROM now.

How do you get SE logo with unlocked bootloader? I didn't get that. Maybe your bootloader is locked?

Try this one, its the generic 2.3.3 bundle:
http://www.multiupload.com/JEXUAHAZTL
After this you can install whatever rom from xrecovery.
the link is broken(

Hmm,really strange. I am afraid that there is a hardware issue which needs repair.
Try the last thing - take battery out and leave phone without battery for about one hour. Then try to power it on.
I will also look into service manual what does triple red led blink means.
EDIT:
Found a note in folder with my service manuals - this is the "soft brick"
If the flashing stock ftf before finished without problems, then put your phone on the chrager and leave it charging wor a few hours. It will start up itselfs.
charged it but it didnt start up
now phone behaves as in the 1st post, the only thing changed - now after se logo it shows animated splash screen for less a second
and this weird sound it makes every time...it scares me

Hmm some news at least...
Could you repeat the process one again (flash and charge) and post here the complete log of the whole flashing?
Because if we will not find anything unusual i will be out of ideas...
i understood what was wrong) after i read another manual i found out i should update my fw via SEUS before flashing...
successfully installed android 2.1, updated it via SEUS and installed 2.3.7. Now everything is ok)
thanks everyone for the feedback)
stuck at SE logo
dude can i have that manual link that u read....

[Help] Xperia Mini Pro SK17i not powering on after update

hi friends
i was trying to update xperia mini pro sk17i (1250-3615) to ICS official
it went well phone booted to ICS but i wanted to root it. (rooting failed even when in GB with all the possible methods Doomlord/Xperia-root/flashtool )
then triend to collect all the files from firmware folder of sony pc companion and made a ftf file using flashtool decrypt /bundle .
flashed it worked fine for first two times... then unlocked the boot loader using sony unlock code from the site.
now .. i was trying different kernel / pre rooted and was boot looping .. so flashed back to .431 ftf and laptop just went off towards the end.
phone not powering on. not recognised as a usb device. But once in a while it comes to flash mode ( green light vol-down usb state ) and i finally was able to use flashtool and this much happened

but still phone not powering on.. its the red light blinks 3 to 4 times and nothing happens.please shed some light
my own phone is FIH FBO (huawei x6 variant ) and i am active in that section... i have tried all the possible recovery methods i can find..
Did you try repairing with PC Companion after the last flashing session?
Don't know how much it would help, though.
1º Usually when you have the 3 red blink means no battery. You have to put your phone charging and nothing will appear on screen. Only after 10 or 20 minutes when battery reach good level.
2º If point 1 is not enough probably you installed kernel for custom rom that might be not compatible with the version you flashed. Try to go to Fastboot mode (blue light vol-up usb state) and install original kernel.
Good Luck
(i'm quite sure is the battery,if you can just grab a voltimeter and check your battery, if value is lower than 3,8v for sure you need to charge|)
thanks buddy for the quick response ..connected it to the charger keeping it for some time(but it was always connected to laptop usb whole time ). lets hope its the battery now. But i have done some cross flashing too earlier.
can you please point me to the original kernel. (but blue light fastboot mode too not coming up now. )
for this particular phone all the threads are so messed up reading finding each compatible ones is taking so much time.. most of the links are dead /suspended too.
sometimes when i flash this (SK17i_4.0.2.A.0.62_Baseband+Kernel.ftf) i get to the sony splash screen and xperia it will show and keep boot looping ..this guy here also tried the same had similar outcome. This thread

yes one time i got a repair option and i tried it. says the phone has a modified rom / so repair is not possible. (mostly because of the kernel +baseband flash ) and its very rarely comes to flash mode.
brov just reflash but dont use Flashtool v0.8.6, use v0.8.5 but make yhu charge tha phone first...

i just saw the phone booting into splash / xperia / and then i heard saw the android home for a sec and battery went down phone got off.
kept for charging
thanks buddies... one thing is sure battery was down.. i was thinking its full charged since plugged to pc whole night. (wrong !!) then the second thought is .. does the recent booting into android home mean ( 12/019/2012 15:19:04 - INFO - Flashing loader) a temporary boot from the new kernel ? still hope is there rite ??

If you would read correctly, then you would see that .ftf file included only Baseband and Kernel, nothing more, nothing less.

Solved [Q] U20 (10W42) root ok, CWM ok, kernel nok, ...

Hi!
I have a Xperia X10 Mini Pro (U20) with Stock Firmware (after recovery with "UpdateService" from SE).
I have installed CWM successfully with "CWMInstaller - Windows - v5".
When I try to install "MiniCM7-2.2.1-mimmi" (or 2.2.2) it says that I need a nAA-Kernel but successfully installs CM7.
When I do a reboot CWM says that "recovery is bad and has to be renewed". After that all I get is the white "Sony Ericsson" lettering (again with the option to start CWM when pressing the back button several times).
So I tried to follow this "Bootloader and kernel guide" and unlock my bootloader first using Flashtool. But when the phone restarts it "hangs" on the white "Sony Ericsson" lettering. When I try again, Flashtool tells me that it is not possible to unlock this bootloader.
My phone is produced 10W42 - could it really be that the ancient stock firmware is the only one which works?
All I want is a more modern and fast (lightweight) android version to use my old phone furthermore.
Thanks in advance for your advice and help!

When you install CWM it is installed in the system part of the ROM. When you installed MiniCM7 it got wiped out, because MiniCM7 is for the nAa-kernel, and in that kernel CWM is built in. Which means it doesn't need to be in the MiniCM7 ROM. That's why you lost it.
And ofcourse it 'hangs' on the white SE lettering, because the ROM you installed does not work with the Sony Ericsson kernel.
You say you unlocked the bootloader, so why don't you flash the nAa-kernel?
Prepare flashtool to flash it, then attach the usb-cable and press home- and back-buttons together to force a restart. If the bootloader unlock was successful the flash will get through and after that, you'll have CWM back and you will continue to boot into the ROM too.
And be very careful not to flash the x10blrelock.ftf by accident, it will definitely break your phone. Best is to remove that from the flashtool/firmwares folder before you proceed.

Thanks for your answer, SmG67.
The problem is, that I have _tried_ to unlock the bootloader, but it did not finish. The "s1tool" still shows a capital R in the version ("RUNNING S1_EROM VER 'R8A029'") which means "not unlocked".
I also tried to install the kernel "U20_2.6.32.61-nAa-06.ftf" but this does not work as the bootloader is locked.
So can you give me a tip, how I could move on?

You should not have proceeded to install the ROM in the first place if you didnt unlock it. Open SONY Update Service in PC, click repair and follow what they say. When you connect your phone to PC for repair, follow what SmG67 told you

I am unsettled now, so I want to make sure to do the right things:
I have "repaired" the phone using UpdateService and made the first setup - phone is now running and USB debugging is switched on.

Root the phone again with flashtool and then unlock the bootloader using flashtool. After that, you should be able to flash the kernel.

Thanks to your reply, I was able to root the device with flashtool. Afterwards I successfully started Superuser and switched off the phone again.
While unlocking the bootloader (button BLU) with flashtool afterwards it gave me the following output:

There are no errors this time, but again nothing more happens: phone is loading and showing orange LED.
I am surprised of the log line saying that "Bootloader status is UNROOTABLE"?
btw: S1info still gives me a uppercase "R" for "not unlocked".
Can I proceed flashing the U20_2.6.32.61-nAa-06.ftf?

That will fail since your bootloader is still locked. Not sure why flashtool failed to unlock it, but maybe you can try the manual method, as linked to in the opening post of the kernel.

You mean to unlock bootloader with "msm7227_semc.cmd" as stated in the "Bootloader and kernel guide" (from above)?
Because this always leads to:
Code:
process requires standard 2.x android firmware.
Drücken Sie eine beliebige Taste . . .
Getting ROOT rights.
* daemon not running. starting it now *
* daemon started successfully *
and the phones LED flashing red sometimes
Thats not the first device I am using custom firmware with, but this phone resists all my attempts.
Finally I managed to run CM7 on my phone following this german instruction.
My mistake was that during the flash process the phone has to be switched on normally and not to be connected in flashmode (pressing back button while plugging USB in).
Thanks for your suggestions and hints!
