black tape it or use permanent marker

Hello,
I think ales47 is searching for the possibility to turn off LED only while charging. Otherwise, in normal use, he wants the LED to work normally.
Is it possible to turn off the LED only while charging phone?

Yeah i too think of the same thing. actually the green light is very much bright than the yellow one. i have to keep it upside down to keep the light off. other than that i have no idea to consider you.
or you have to use a light form or something (that it wont hurt the screen) when you charge. and the miss call notification is very annoying at night too. every flash will kill your sleep slowly. i have to clear the notifications before i sleep.
Any other suggestions?

Seriously, you are very helpful to us

haven't tried it out myself, but in settings - profiles you select a profile, and the last option PHONE, the last option again is LIGHTS MODE and is set in no override.
You could create a profile for the night with the setting switched to OFF.
Hope it works

I once tried the profile thing but i had no notifications. but this is regarding a light steadily lighting. i guess it is for the notifications only.

I don't know why it bothers you at night... at some point I can't even sleep without having light on phone... Put a tape over the LED? I just think it's not possible to change this...

Hey bro you really should search before starting a new thread
Have a look at this, i suggest you read the whole topic.

[Q] Notification LED Replacement

Hello people, to my dismay, I have found that there is no notification LED on the S2 and so I'm wondering whether or not there is an option, through apps or such, to get your screen to light up or something. Just doing some research before I get this phone as I don't want to be stuck with a problem without knowing whether it is able to be solved.
Thanks in advance
Use the No-LED app.
Edit - It wont light up your screen like a Pink Floyd concert, but it does provide color icon notifications for email, sms/mms, charging status etc
Thanks! I just looked up the app after reading your post and it seems perfect, with the bonus of being developed for the Galaxy S. Thanks again, it'll be among the first apps I'll get
To the guys who use no Led:
Is it true that it drains battery a lot?
Guess the is no alternative right now.
I would love blinking "menu" and "Back" Button rather than blinking screen...
I looked around for info on the this app and found the developer's thread about it. It's someone from XDA actually.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=730692
i ll test it now anyway...
Try any kernel that supports bln and install bln control from the market. This way the buttons will light up if you missed anything ( you have to be rooted though)

I don't think there's a kernel yet that supports bln for SGSII....

Frankly speaking, it's a terrible idea to lighten the screen as notification. Yes it is absolutely true that it will drain the battery, definitely. So No-LED is a big No for me, especially when GS II have two backlited keys, we are just missing the BLN kernel support.
Regards.
"I would love blinking "menu" and "Back" Button rather than blinking screen..."
Exactly what I'm looking for too.
+1 for the blinking backlighted buttons idea!
<rant>I'm currently stuck with an old G1 with a dedicated notification multicolored LED and I'm getting ready to upgrade my phone (most likely the SGII) and I'm disappointed to see newer phones are lacking notification lights... It's not like it's a lot more expensive to implement... a simple colored LED with a timer interrupt and an I/O pin...</rant>
Anyways, I'd love to have the backlighted button as an alternative..
Thanks,
Stephane
Have you noticed that when the proximity sensor is on it turns red? Make a call and check it next to the camera. I guess we could use that as a notification led. I wonder what would eat more battery, the soft-keys backlight (like the BLN in i9000) or the proximity sensor.

Flashing Blue LED

Does anyone know what the flashing blue LED means? And is there a way to disable it, at night it can be very bright!
Paul
Probably some useful info in the user guide http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/GT-I9300MBASWC-downloads?isManualDownload=true

Nope, nothing in the manual that refers to the Blue Flashing LED.
Paul
Do you have anything enabled in the LED light settings that would explain why it's flashing?

Please read again.
Settings -> LED Settings
Red is low battery and/or charging
Green is fully charged
Flashing blue means there is a notification of some sort.
Thanks Lenny,
The manual does not help:
●● Missed event: Set to turn on the service light when you have missed calls, messages, or notifications.
Doesnt say "Blue" anywhere so not exactly easy to find!
Paul
It's blue for every app notification unless you have light flow installed so you'll have to work out which app is notifying you
Usually I've forgotten to read an email or text message though - annoying though when you can't track it down

Trying light flow as that does exactly what I require.
Thanks very much.
Paul
I use calendar snooze for my appointment reminders, and I set it to flash red for them.
I have been looking in Tasker if there is a setting there to turn reminders off while my 'night' setting is active. I also find them annoying during the night, but haven't been able to find a setting there yet. Anyone got any ideas?
what has to be done or there's an app that's already out, the led has to flash for a certain time and it turns off. constant flashing will piss people off and may possibly kill the battery

If you really think about it though, that flashing light probably consumes less battery then you having to turn on the screen to see if you have a new notification that you might have missed. Even if your screen is on for 5 seconds it is still waking up the phone and causing it time for it to fall back into sleep.

[Q] cm9dx2 green charge light

Hi, any easy way to disable the bright green light when plugged in?
Well I know that when you get a notification when its on, the light will go off after you dismiss the notification. You can always just send yourself a quick text. lol. But the light color is set by how the battery is. So if you are at 50 percent or so, once the light is off, it will come back on when it hits the next battery stage, if that makes sense. For example, at 50 percent, the light will be yellowish. At about 80, maybe, it will turn green. So when it decides to go to the next color, it will come on again. Just trying to give you an understanding of how the light works. lol.
There are apps that let you control the light. I have tried LEDs hack but it got my hard key lights stuck on with ICS. I think there is another one calls light flow or something like that that may help.
Sorry for the long response. lol
Thank you jsgraphicart,
I did not notice the changing colors. I'll try out the text thing.

Lighflow works great, dunno if it has any issues with CM9 though
I've used lightflow on Eclipse since 0.2 and never had a problem. I will look into this now and post results.
EDIT: It Kills it! Set up all your notifications the way you like, and make sure charging settings are controlled, but no notifications set!
Have you tried turning off the notification light under setting>display?

I like that charging light. Actually I love it. Is there a way to enable it in every rom?

I just came across that setting. That should work for when you want it off at night. But you need to turn it back on to get the LED to display for notifications again. I might use this at night now. Thanks.
So in Alpha 5, you have the option of turning off the notification during "quiet hours". Disable notification LED from 10pm to 5am or whatever.

[Q] Light Bar Factory Reset Issue

Hi folks!
I installed night mode app for my xperia u. it reduces the brightnes of the screen and turns off the light strip. However one time, when I used night mode one night, lol, the brightness was reduced, BUT the light bar was still on! I checked all the settings and done all I can, but it was still there. I had to do a factory reset to fix it. I'm worried this might happen again, what do you guys think happened and how to prevent it?
Thank you!!

Amazfit Bip - Can I make the watch always light?

Hi
Can I make the watch always light?
(NOT just when i lift wrist to view info)
any help?
I don't think so but why would you? The screen is already reflective and having brightness constantly on will drain the battery severely

I have the opposite question.
Is it possible to have light turned on while notifications or pressing button only during the night while during the day it will be turned off all the time?
