I got a 250GB Xbox for $200. They ram out of the holiday bundles and these ones were supposed to ring up at $299. I guess I got lucky. I'm thinking about getting a Kinect. Not really sure if I want one though.

With the Xoom 2 coming out around holidays the Xoom 1 should see a huge price drop. I'm going to try to score one they should be between 199.99-250.00. What made me laugh the most about black Friday is apple supposedly thinks they're actually participating by knocking off only 100 bucks off computers. I bought my MacBook pro in June for like 1400 bucks; yeah a 100 bucks off is really a deal :rolls eyes:

Bahaha, thanks! The price was the biggest reason I chose the Photon over the EpicTouch. Coulda got the ET with a free BluRay player from BestBuy too lol, but I was like, dude I live in a trailer in the boonies with no TV so what am I gonna do with a bluray player???
I could use that signal boost everyone is bragging about too. I'm gonna save up and get the dock too.
My GF has an epic touch 4G and its trash. The radio is **** and the phone isn't that impressive. God I hate Samsung phones...
Coming from the Epic I'm inclined to agree with you. I don't think it's all bad, but the lack of Samsung support coupled with having to search for developer apps and roms to fix problems affecting basic operations is a big turndown. The only saving-grace it had over the Photon was the damn keyboard, but that didn't even hold me back anymore after I saw what un-impressive features GB brought to it. They didn't even bother fixing problems we've had since EB13 and we're on EI22 now...!
I got lucky as hell today. Went into bestbuy around noon today to pick up a nook tablet and found that $250 Asus tablet instead. Last one they had and it was buried under a couple nooks. Lol what luck. Wanted one of these for a while now
So I was helping a guy at the home depot I work at. I saw the Guy had a S2 skyrocket and asked him how he liked it, then I showed him my Note I just got. Turns out he works for AT&T corporate. He new about the Note but wasn't really familiar with it, so I got my gadget geek on and showed off what the Note can do and then talked about the network around Atlanta.
So I went into work for an hour today to help out on a special order and I had a message with a contact number. So I call and it's someone from at&t, she told me that Guy I helped was so impressed with my knowledge and passion on mobile that he gave the info he had on me to her. Now she wants me to come in and discuss opportunities with business sales. It's face to face stuff mostly (not a call center).
Update: Got an interview on Tuesday at one of their corporate offices.
Update2: So I interviewed with them on Tuesday and it went very well. They said they have some in house promotions about to happen in a few weeks to a month and they would be contacting me again when they know more about the upcoming opens on their floor. It would be a 8-5 job with base salary and commission with business sales in the mobility division.
"Buy a galaxy note, get a job offer."
New marketing campaign.

I could sell the sh*t out of some phones. Haha. It's funny how uninformed the sales clerks are at some stores. I literally saw an At&t employee trying to sell an iPhone to a guy based purely on Siri, and couldn't even get it to work. Her explanation was that "it just doesn't work sometimes, but it's still a really great feature"
Sad thing was, the guy walked out with an iPhone that day. If only I could have saved his poor soul...

I had a post about this the other day and I totally can agree... its bad how they will hire people who don't know what they are doing but you get a bad rap from the go ernment and they wont hire you even though it was in the general basis... I went to three different att and a bestbuy asking he managers about the note not even two weeks ago and they acted like I was talking about space travel -.-

This actually happened to me too! Except not with a Galaxy Note and not AT&T but Verizon! I knew more than the guy they were training and actually troubleshooted a customer and the regional sales manager offered me a job! Too bad I don't go to school where I live :/

No he Just remembered my name and gave a description of me to a coworker and she called my HD and left a message with a number to contact her. I didn't know what it was for when I called. Then she telling me that I impressed this Guy so much and asked me if I would be interested in changing careers.
That's very cool! Serendipity. I love when stuff like that happens.

Got my interview scheduled and she asked me about being able to work full-time. So I think that's a good sign.

saw it. watch them all here every week. What I thought was funnier was the phone they were using in the Speed social media center(social garage) was the Samsung Epic 4G Touch...least thats what it looked like when R. Wood was showing off the Nascar app....Found it real interesting they didn't give him an EVOLTE to use....esp if they had a ton of signage for it...

Yes I did and yes it was everywhere. Last year they were showing off the EVO 3d to all the drivers and even the announcers had them. its also in the best buy ad this morning. I bet a lot of people go there and are pissed when its not

I've been having problems with my OG Evo for like a month now. I didn't know about the charge dock problems even though I'm always here flashing new roms. I was anxiously waiting for the new one and then all of this happened. For a while, I was seriously considering cancelling my order but then I realized that that would be a win for Apple and I could not contribute to their gain. I decided to wait patiently for my phone.
In terms of the patent I think its BS, and this is coming from a software engineer. I don't want to go deep into that discussion but working with code is a whole different ballgame.
In terms of the whole GS3 vs. EvoLTE vs. iPhone5 thing, I think both the GS3 and the EvoLTE are good phones. I don't know much about the iphone5 specs yet. What I can say is that apple products are not that unarguably better overall for them to have so much money and crazy fanboys right now.
The best apple product was the iPod by far. It revolutionized the industry. Everything else from there has come off branding. You can argue about the OG iPhone and iPad being nice too but that feels like a century ago. Like I said, everything else is marketing. Its funny people buying expensive macs just to log in to facebook and serious customers run parallel half of the time to use windows programs.
Right now, we have competition and we have android developers working their a** off to get a small share of the pie and that's why I can't cancel my order. After I read this, I was shocked by how this blind fanaticism is hurting the industry around the world. I don't wanna be a part of that. Like I said, some Apple products are great, but they are not unarguably so ahead of the curve for them to be squashing everyone that easy. My two cents...

i am starting to get a bit worried myself to be honest. between the lack of advertisement (you barely hear about this phone) and the lack of accessories, i am really hoping that this doesn't end up being a flop.
I've heard the advertisement concern a few times, but I'm not sure why. I've seen a bunch of TV commercials here in Atlanta for it. And that's even with DVR'ing almost all of our shows.

In RI, most AT&T stores don't even carry them. A lot don't even have the phone on display! I had to make a special trip to a town out of my way to pick this phone up, and they even said they only get about 2 at a time

Advertising is one thing...I'm talking actual sales numbers....development and testing of new firmware cost LG big bucks and they aren't gonna do it for a" small" crowd. They are busy right now planning the release of the successor to.this phone to compete with Sammy I'm sure and to iron out the wrinkles in this their first high-end smartphone designed to compete with the big wigs...just saying

Hard to really say. I don't know of any official numbers but, I think I was the first person to get mine at the local best buy and that was a month after it launched.
Since then my brother and girlfriend have both gotten one.
I'm still a bit nervous about a lack of developers.

i see ads on tv all the time here in south florida and there arent many on our craiglist but its loaded with sgs3 and note 2 haha i think most folks dont really know about it i didint know untill i actually went to buy the note to and saw it on display and after playing with both devices i chose the optimus g and would do it again if given the choice i think lg got a bad name in the begining but the og is one heck of a device
My att store had taken the display off the shelf. Not really sure why. The sales person also didn't realize the HTC 1X+ was in the store and on display.
I am still looking for a case.

I must say the phone has its ups and downs. If you can get it off contract for a good deal I would say go for it. If its a contract then I would save some more and get something newer

as RQUIETT stated, yes this phone has its ups and downs as they all do.
I got my Infuse for 1 penny as a refurb and never had issue one with it. after Thanksgiving, I got my Note and 2 S3's for under $100, also refurbs.
well worth the money.
between contracts, data plans and need accessories and their availability, that's up to you. in my opinion, XDA is the one that keeps us current and keeps our Notes looking and feeling new and up to date
With the latest JB update, the phone is alot zippier. The hardware is still nowhere near the new phones, but it is more than enough for regular/daily use. And as mentioned before, there will be new updated ROMs to keep this phone going.
It sounds like OP is fine with the screen size, so if the price is reasonable (considering how old this phone is), I would recommend it.
Just note that the resale value might drop alot once the new Note 3 comes out later this year.
Ok thanks guys. I found it used. A family member will sell it to me for $150 and the note has no screen scratches and light scratches on the body. What do you guys think? Is it at a good price?
