The error is probably with the rom and not with the kernel, because with the stock rom works perfectly...

After flashing this kernel my neo v gets rooted on .62 stock ROM ....
but will this rooted ROM work if i change the kernel to something else like nightelf stock kernel .... ???
or have anyone tested it yet ???
let me know ....

Root privileges are integrated in this kernel. So you will not stay rooted almost for sure, if you flash another kernel which is not prerooted...

You will be able to update normally to ICS using PC companion, but to be ablolutely sure, you better relock your bootloader before the update...

@bbooff: few days ago I flashed ICS beta from sony page, and I used your kernel for hot boot just so I can install zip with superuser stuff.
Today I flashed stock .62fw, and wanted to hot boot with your kernel, but no luck, I needed to flash it in order to boot into CWM.
You got any idea why id did cooperate on ICS and not on clean .62
Also I couldn't do factory reset while I was using your kernel. I guess that is kinda normal as it's not stock kernel, but still I thought it should work

I have no idea!
The opposite is what should had happened.
I think that if you reinstall 0.62 (using flashtool and not wotan) and then my kernel, everything will be o.k.
If you install a custom kernel, you can do a factory reset through the cwm menu.

Actually I did used flashtool.
After I flash your kernel I can enter cwm. problem is if I try hot boot it.
and about factory reset, I know we can do it via recovery, but is it normal that we can't do it from phone?

fastboot boot boot.img
it allows you to boot with kernel without flashing it.

your kernel is very good.... simple and easy... helped me restore my phone back...
But now i am facing one more problem...
whenever I try to install any other kernel through fastboot, that kernel does not work; instead your kernel starts booting up...
Can you please throw some light on it?
Thnx

[Q] Team Xperia SE.TWEAKED STUCK

Hi,
I tried installing the ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514050 but im stuck at the boot screen when the SONY Logo comes, stuck for 5 hours now. tried more than 10 times with complete wipe, cache everything that is available in CWM but unable to get past the boot screen, can someone help me?
I'm able to upadte my system with this link

Plz helpp....
What kernel you using has to be custom not stock
Sent from my LT15i using XDA
I tried your case many time...try just wipe data/factory reset
Find me at Gtalk
Sent from my fast Neo V
Sorry for my bad English...
Just download compatible night elf or other kernel. Flash it in fastboot and reboot.
There is nothing wrong with ROM no need to keep wiping it.
I'm not sure which kernel my neo is having as i have tried various things in last one month. How do i find it out (Sorry i'm a beginner here)

Generally it is in about phone in settings but as you are not able to load up any ROM i suggest just flash one to make sure you are on right kernel.

hi ankurvij,
by which method you root your neo v if it is DoomLoRD's toolkit then it roots your phone with locked bootloader
to my knowledge Team Xperia SE.TWEAKED V1 is for unlocked bootloader only correct me if i'm wrong
you won't install custom ROM but can install Stock ROM
i've tried the same thing after rooting DoomLoRD's toolkit same error as yours
now on stock firmware from emannxperia with some tweaks
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544273
I had similar problems when I put a rom with an inappropriate kernel. But for this you must have the bootloader open
Yes, i used DoomLoRD's toolkit .. i will give a try to ICS Now
Thanks for ur reply..

Friend i have two issue with this kernel.
1). After i flash it it display "Unfortunately, keypad has stopped" and "Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped" errors.
2). I can't see Superuser app in the app drawer.
Can you help me to fix this things.
Edited:- I flashed the superuser app via recovery, now it fix, but i have that errors.
Thanks!
@gregbradley: is that kernel from Neo V, based on .431? If yes, in .431 neo and neo v had different kernels, and when neo used neo v kernel user got problems as above. Not sure if it's same on .587
@android addicts: if you wanna keep her phone stock as possible, my advice is to have stock .587, then hotboot kernel which have CWM, and flash superuser.zip, on the next boot phone will boot with stock kernel and you will have superuser.
How to hotboot and what to hotboot check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678690

No. Don't do that.. You will end up with problems.
Don't do OTA updates on phones with unlocked bootlaoder, specially not if you used official method.
That update is because you have .587 fw and .431 kernel, that's why you got notification about update. Let me guess, it's ~14mb?
If you just wanna root, and keep stock kernel, try following my instructions.

If I may ask, since I see you didn't end up wit boot problems, did you unlock bootloader with unofficial way, with s1tool?
p.s. you have another option, since you have root access, install titanium backup, and uninstall update center app
but still, my advise is flash stock .587, hotboot kernel with CWM, install superuser.zip and that's it, you are on stock with superuser access.

Okay. then, do this.
Choose any ROM you like.
Flash via Flashtools base firmware(If you choose a GB rom then Flash any Gingerbread Stock Firmware, if you choose an ICS then flash any ICS Stock Firm..)
Flash any compatible kernel
Turn your phone on and enter cwm Recovery
Flash te ROM and do all wipes that ROM requires(its on OP of the ROM you 've selected)
Reboot and hope it works well!
Hope this can solve your problem

FYI : if you already unlock the bootloader, you don't have to root it anymore....just flash any custom kernel into your phone...all custom kernel is pre-rooted and have CWM be default....
flash any custom kernel first, then you can install any custom roms or official roms with losing your root....

[Q] Other methods to root Xperia sola..?

You should know:
1. I have unlocked my Bootloader.
2. Installed CWM 5.
3. Tried various custom Roms.
4. Tried binary's method but went into Bootloop for 12 hours ( I am not doing that again)
But i am not satisfied with the performance of the custom roms over Sony's 6.1.1.B.54..
I am going to wait out until Freexperia release of Cygaen Mod but until that i need root ..

I think you probably used a wrong version of Binary or maybe the connection got severed half way.. Use Binary v9 or v12 they work fine if you follow Khalil's thread
If you get any issues, Let us know and we'll try to help
Cheers & Merry Christmas
Ps : If you want to try a fast version of Stock B1.54, try out my rom Xperiance Lite Its stock Sony with all the bloatware removed and alot of tweaks Im currently testing for Sola only but it worked very well on Xperia U and almost all the same tweaks are implemented Only the base of the rom changes

New problem Flash mode not working.
I don't if its the reason but after i installed munjeni's kernel with Cwm v5 flashmode is not working.. The green led glows for a moment and goes into charging mode..
I tried:
Installing flashmode drivers through flashtool and it does not work.
I have used flash-tool and flashed the phone about 4 times and this is new.
Should i switch back to old kernel if that's what i need to do.. Currently using Brain's Rom.
Just a thank you note..
