Need help - HTC Amaze 4G

I currently have the energy Rom on my amaze but I have to send it to htc to get a new one but I'm worried that they might not give me a new one since its rooted. Is there any way to unroot?

Awesome. Thank you all.

They WILL still be able to see that you unlocked the bootloader, there are 3 statuses that it can have
Locked (stock)
Unlocked
Relocked
Yours will need to be relocked to flash the PH85IMG.zip files, however, it will be obvious to them that you had it unlocked at one point. The big thing missing from the OP is the reason it needs to be sent back. If it's a hardware failure unrelated to you unlocking the bootloader or software changes you've done, you should be fine.

I have known people to send back rooted phones and been fine and got a replacement. Their theory was if no water/hardware damage, then why the hub-hub. I personally wouldn't try that myself, but some people test the waters. Thus far it had been fine.

I have an Evo w/the latest OTAs.. but I heard that the HTC method of unlocking isn't as good as the revolution way.
What should I be looking for/waiting for? I'm so pissed off.. might just sell it and get the damn GS2 instead!

You can use HTC's method and still flash ROMs, kernels, or just root your phone. The steps are a little different with HTC's method than if your phone was just S-off, but I think you can accomplish everything besides flashing a different HBOOT. I do think a 4.5" screen might be nice to see though .
Thank you, kind sir.
Could you help me with these steps, please?
I am still a newbie, you see.
Thanks in advance.
Do some searching in cdma dev section I've seen how to root guides for hboot ..1.50

Can you flash custom kernals/radios/any roms?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A

I have SHIP S-OFF - Now what?

I recently got a new HTC Amaze 4G for T-Mobile that has SHIP S-OFF
What can one do with SHIP S-OFF on the HTC Amaze 4G?
Should one sell it to someone that could put it to good use for the community?
i THINK (im no expert here so im only guessing)
you need to
1 not update it yet.
2 read on the development forums and find the S off forum and check your versions of your phone to the ones that have been grabbed and if its a different version
3 create need to create dumps the entire phone. but im not sure.. really check the soff thread under development
this whole s off thing s on thing confuses me still since im coming off an N1 but i think i understand it.
lucky bastard! Kidding lol

Not update it to what? ICS when it is released?
I think he meant don't do an htc firmware update
Yeah cause they've been having a hard time getting S-Off with this phone which is really holding back ROM development. It's the reason they cant slap a ICS ROM on there.
Xboarder already have a s-off device just like you did, it would be nice if you sale it to another high developer like faux123 he works with kernels he might figure out how the drivers works with a s-off amaze or to a coder, so these people can figure out all the drivers and how to get ours s-off

That's not the problem at all. The reason why ICS roms aren't going so well is because HTC hasn't released the drivers/code for WiFi, BT, etc, so these aren't working in ICS rom ports. S-ON is not much more than a minor annoyance and can be worked around. Once an ICS build has been leaked by HTC, ICS development should pick up.

S-OFF for the EVO 4G LTE!

JuopunutBear and team have done it again. S-OFF for the EVO 4G LTE!
Root is required. Unlocked is NOT required... but supported! Support for Linux and Windows.
S-OFF: http://unlimited.io/lazypanda-s-off-public-beta/
Remove HTC Dev red watermark (after you S-OFF): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1738462

Cool.
Looks promising although since I've already unlocked via HTC dev what's the advantage of s off..as I understand we can already flash radios etc..also it requires root..how is that possible if u didn't unlock with HTC dev
I'm rooted but not unlocked with HTCdev. They are 2 different things.

why would i want to pay for insurance? my phone is covered under 1 year warranty. i change phones every year anyways. i never buy warranty for anything
So does this essentially unlock the bootloader and give s-off?
So can I run this with an unrooted phone? I was reading the pre requisite and said you needed to be rooted/temp, which doesn't that mean htcdev unlocked?
I want to avoid htcdev unlock...

Its basically what every has already done except your phone will say S-off instead of S-on....no additional features. U can do everything u were able to do before.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Cool. Once someone has a write up or script to relock, unroot, unlock again with s-off and reroot so i don't get that red text on boot let me know. That would be the only reason i care about this.
Hopefully the devs didn't waste a good exploit that could have been used on a phone that needed it.

Supercid will likely come at the sametime s-off comes which defeats the purpose anyway. Cid partition now has the same power-on wp that the security flag partition has always had. Needless to say, the old HTC exploits are closed and we are starting from the ground up.

in all fairness the att bloat is really unnoticed on the htc one. atleast to me anyway. since I am on int there is none. but I would still like a RUU. in the international section there RUU's started popping up already
Saw this FB feed yesterday but when you click the link, file name shows Europe. Will watch out for Att RUU.

Ok now you're scaring me. Anyone want to point me in the right direction? I would like to download that myself. Forgive me if it's right under my nose. I know nada about HTC but I already had to have my other 2 AT&T devices replaced so I am insured and down to test if needed.

[Q] Babyracun > Facepalm > Stock

1. On my very first EVO LTE I used Dirtyracun to obtain S-OFF.
2. On my replacement I used babyracun and then Facepalm to obtain S-OFF.
1. When I used VipeRUU's RUU process on my first EVO LTE (used Dirtyracun) the phone went back to being locked and S-ON again.
2. When using ViperRUU's RUU process on my replacement EVO LTE (used babyracun & then Facepalm) the phone went to "UNLOCKED" and still saying "S-OFF" with the CID still showing. So then I used the ViperRUU's S-OFF Toggle process of which changed me back to "S-ON" and took away the CID display. BUT it still says I'm "UNLOCKED."
What I'm looking for is my phone to be back to COMPLETE STOCK. I don't even want it to be unlocked. I also don't want it to be displaying "RELOCKED." I don't even know where to begin, what to start searching for, or what I'm even looking for to obtain my request. Figured I would post this and see if anyone has any answers.
Thanks in advance.

I thought u said you were s-off.
Edit.. I reread and I'm not familiar with vipers s-off toggle. So it eliminates your s-off status . I thought it was like a hex edit on bootloader or something and your phone is actually still s-off.
Why u going back to stock. Moving on to the ONE ?
