[Q] Is it possible to have an "Miui ICS Rom" on ours Galaxy Tab 10.1 - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

All is in the title.....
Is it possible to have an Miui ICS Rom on ours Galaxy Tab 10.1 ?

What, and have it looking EVEN MORE LIKE AN iPAD ???
You might as well sell your Galaxy Tab and really buy into the fanboi market.

if u were having a gingerbread or honeycomb and u would have demanded for miui it was acceptable...but ICS seriously? come on

Thanks for yours answers but there are not kindly at all. !!!!!! But it was just a question..... I dont like Apple and i like so much Android that's why i always take Android on every phone, i'll buy in the future..... But i like Miui customisation and not IOS like !!!!!!

Im on your side. Once you start to use miui and the more you use it, the less ios it is. It's really just a clean, fast and well built rom.
I ran miui on my desire hd untill it lost a fight with a cup of coffee!!
I for one would give it a go on my tab.

I know some devs were working on it for the nook color. So its still liked by many.
I'm still partial to Task ROMs on my tab though.

Iam also a miui fan with ics - currently running it on touch hd and it is a dream. Not sure where ipad corrolation comes in. Great rom all round and would love to see it on my tab

Thanks you all !! I see that i'm not alone and that everybody haven't a "closed spirit".... I don't know if i can say it like that. Sorry for my poor English.

I would love to see it!

I do kind of prefer MIUI for it's simplicity and easy customization, not in for the whole iOS look but it beat's the whole ugly look that the stock firmwares have.

Hey all i just got this phone from tmobile and im coming from the galaxy s 4g and instead of just kinda reading all of everything thats going on in this forum i kinda just wanted to ask you all what you think of this phone.. my last phone was the galaxy s 4g and i had alot of fun with it.. its just i really wanted a bigger screen and i didnt want the galaxy 2 so my questions would be

Rooting the phone is always worth it
In my opinion its the best phone on the market and the toms are ok now great like 4th bar sense I like a lot xborader and other are working on a very slow moving aosp ics but its the only aosp we have and but its all sense roms also bulletproof and energy are nice

Once you root make sure to install faux's kernel, its a significant battery booster!!

Hi mysticfrog and welcome bro!
Yes, The screen of the Amaze 4g is larger but not emolated (amolated?) and I've had no problems at all with Gingerbread nor with HTC Sense 3.0
The bloatware is there on this phone.
If you root your phone, it voids the warrantee btw.
The Amaze 4G IS slated for the ICS 4.0 upgrade & HTC Sence 3.5/3.6 probably in march. If not then your guess is as good as mine.
Insofar as ROM's are concerned, I don't know. As around.
Finally, You might want to reconsider this phone, as Google wants phone developers to come out with phones that don't have physical buttons!
ICS and Jellybean, I presume, are on phone which have physical buttons but the new Google phone only has on-screen buttons like the Iphone.
If I were you and I could wait till later on this year, I'd wait man.

WEll i can play with this one for 20 days.. from the specs it seemed like the phone to get.. i appreciate the input bro.. im just kinda bored with the sgs4g.. but having said that the devs over there are pretty awsome.. i just wanted a bigger screen and i didnt want a galaxy s 2..
I put NRG's ROM on to it. It is really nice, smooth and has many useful features!
If you wanna buy accessories, I'd recommend buying an Anker battery, a TPU case (i bought one for $3 on eBay), car charger and you should be good to go!
Alright guys I've got the amaze.. Im at work at the moment.. I just got one last question..
is the development of this phone going to slowly increase? Cause i do believe t mobile is the only one that has a phone of this juncture..
I've read ALOT on these posts were ALOT of people are not happy with the development.. Im not trying to get flamed for this question im just wanting to be with this product for the long haul and im just wanting to make certain that i made the right decision.. I've read the reviews all weekend so i do like the phone from that perspective.. Im just wondering about the development aspect of it all.. I just don't want to get it and then see devs leave for another product.. Basically how is the future development looking for this phone.. Thanks all.. Rooting this phone looks pretty easy btw.. I do like that...

If you're a crack flasher, then this device is not for you. I don't think development will pick up much at all... However, I say its the best device also. I don't need heavy development. NRGZ28 made a beautiful and EXTREMELY stable ROM called Energy. It's got all I could need.
Most people are salty about the device because they can't get s off so developers are backing out. We have 4-5 ROM developers, but the nrg ROM is the only one that's as stable as stock imho (but I haven't tried OneGoodROM or Bulletproof since the 2.3.2 update. A lot has changed since that release though.
If you're looking to flash a new ROM each week, then you will not like the device and you may have an addiction. If you're looking for a phone that has a few very stable ROMs to choose from, this is the device for you

Lol... Na im not a crack flasher.. Ive been on valhalla black for the galaxy s4g now for a while.. I want a smooth rom that's pretty good with music and gets rid of ALOT of bloatware.. I guess i want a pretty sexy stable rom. That's about it... Im usually on the net ALOT and listening to music when i run..

Yeah energy did catch my eye.. Im at work right now im just pretty much letting the phone charge up.. I will say one thing it's a hot phone.. My girl can't wait to play with it.. I do like the sense 3.0 slot from what I've read about it.. And the weather effects are just cool as hell

What did you expect? They have to design consistent software across their product line.
XPlay-Swype
oh, was it meant to look anything like how it does on Nexus or is that a Nexus only deal, coz all icons are the same, dial pad etc.... ALL THE SAME
That is one of the reason I am still on GB ... and moved to MIUI GB now mate..
They dont want a change on their treditional touchwiz look.....but salute them for making the hacking very simple....lets find our own AOSP...
i'm on slim ics now.. it's pure google way.. but me too think ics gives nothing new.

You have to produce a model that is workable and usable by your customer base and their IQ .
jje
anyone that expected samsung ics to be like stock ics is an idiot
ICS on gs2 is sooo disappointing. I'm on XWPL7 with Sayid kernel v3.1rc5. Looks almost the same and battery sucks and i get freezes and random restarts... wifi is flakey... I guess we'll be the guinea pigs for now
ICS for SGS2 sucks...
IQ? IQ has nothing to do with anything. IQ testing is and always has been a failure for testing ones intellect
Whiners go back to lovely GB and flash all the kernels you want to make the already fast phone fly and
Run quadrant and be happy

my advice is do the same thing i did and that is get familiar with the stock rom first and enjoy your brand new phone. tweaking all settings so as to see what the stock rom can really do at full potential. so that later you can really see the difference and improvements of those custom roms once you have them.
i still have my HOX im a great fan of "baadnewz" for his great dedication and being sharing to the community... Leedriod no doubt is also a great Dev along with Mike...
Anyway, welcome to Sammy's world... We also have lots of good Devs here. Indie, Wanam, raffaele88 being always on my list but most of the time im with Leomar and Pongster...
Gokhan is great, as well as Franco (im with his R10 in my HOX) ...
Anyway, all Devs has its own priorities, some focuses on stabilty, while others on performance and in themeing... Feel free to choose from numbers of ROMs and Kernels...
Sad to see all themers opting for blue theme instead of wide variety of colors

I personally would prefer theme like sense 4 or webOS.. Big fan of matte colors etc.. I don't like aosp ics look so much.. But is has been growing on me lately.. I like consistency but it's pretty tiresome that every app is designed black and blue to fit ics.. Prefer much more like twitter app and xda app.. Same with wp7 where everywhere you go everything looks and works the same way
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I don't normally write.but it needs to be said, I ran a rooted stock ROM for about a week. Then tried the lightened Rom's and the more stock type ROM's. Tried the Franco and Siyah kernels but couldn't get past the .SD card problems. Eventually I went back to my original ROM LE8 ....then rooted it. And now everything works, speed and battery again back to the high levels I thought I would never achieve again.

Gingerbread ROM on Galaxy SIII

Howdy,
For testing purposes I want to load a pre-ICS ROM on my GalaxyS3. I need the flash built in that got dropped with ICS.
Has anyone tried this? If so, what are recommended ROMs?
If no one has done this, what ROMs are closest to what the S3 runs and would stand the greatest chance of working?
Thanks,
Joe
Presume this is a test to see how fast you can brick your SGS3 .
Adobe Flash player works on ICS .
jje
now this was a unique question. in the world of jb you are looking for gb
oh go on, do it, testing, testing

This is I think the 4th "can I put gingerbread on x" thread I have seen on xda, pretty sure its the second in the S3 forum and also there were two in the gnex forums if my memory serves me right.
As you can imagine they were met with complete and WARRANTED hostility.

to be equally fair, i'm in the same boat. i had a captivate for a while, loved the gb roms i flashed constantly to find my favourite. bought an s2 and absolutely love the phone. i hard bricked my previous s2, i dont think i had the right kernel, something i did was for a non canadian version of the s2. after i sold that one i bought another brand new s2. the s3 was around for a little while at this point but my girlfriend has a galaxy nexus and her sister an s3 and i just dont like the way ics and jb look, feel and operate. it felt like switching from windows to a mac after using windows for years. i would go to close a window and the 'x' was in the upper left and not right like windows.
its a personal opinion, i'm sure in many ways firmwares past gb are better in many quantifiable ways, but i just dont like em. not to mention the stupid physical home button like some loser iphone. i love the 4 backlit buttons that samsung uses on many devices like the blu ray player i have. it's just awesome.
anyway, long story short - is there any other demand worth warranting a dev to make a gb rom for phones past that version of android?
in closing, think of the amount of roms out there for the captivate which are based on froyo people still use. gb ics and even jb roms are available but many people still prefer the look and feel of froyo.
anyway, long story short - is there any other demand worth warranting a dev to make a gb rom for phones past that version of
Got a couple of thousand to spare might interest a dev otherwise not likely .
Try one of the developer forums where devs have a contact or question route .

[Q] Tossing up between an S3 a One X and a Nexus

I can't decide between an S3 a One X or a Nexus, the Nexus is great I love the idea behind it but the specs are too outdated, and a new nexus is just around the corner. The One X is nice, nice screen nice specs, but not completely open (Romming is VERY important to me), the S3 is a beast, massive screen, totally awesome, but how "hackable" is it, I remember reading about some developer raging at the exoynos chipset?. So I'm just wondering, do the roms all work 100% or are there missing drivers and all that crap that we android fanatics hate. And is the romming process nice and easy, root, install cwm, flash roms (From what I've read yes it is like that). S3 owners, please chime in, I need to make a decision by tonight.

Exynos source is bring released so the s3 is obviously the best option in terms of romming and with exynos sources due to be released they can only get better

If roms are very important to you get the new Lgnex. There's no phone like a Nex. If you like Aosp, go Nex. I have a Gnex, GS3 and a N7 and I will be selling my S3 to grab LGnex soon as its available! If you like tw or sense then go w/ others but they will never have the amount of aosp roms that a Nex has. (Kernels too) You ever own a Nexus you will get confused as to what to flash. You also have a device compatible w/ the Android Sdk , fastboot, adb which are not available on any other device and make things much easier and 100% safe. I like my S3 but im Nexus all the way!!
