And add 2.3.* support beside armv6

Would it be possible to make it work on Gingerbread also. I imagine there are very few ARMv6 devices running ICS, most devices with enough hardware to run ICS have a ARMv7 processor.

Nope most armv6 devices tun ics very good, it is not about the cpu... it also not about the ram because ics has better memory management, but the problem is the gpu hw acceleration, which has been mamaged on the Optimus One, and the camera...

Firefox won't open

Hello,
I installed Firefox on my GT540, but when I open Fir.. it gives a black screen and shut's (Fir...) down immidealtly. What did I do wrong or is it just not possible to run Fir... on our phone? I use 2.1 moded by Quarxx.

I hope you mean this one:
http://blog.mozilla.com/blog/2010/11/04/firefox-4-beta-for-mobile-is-now-faster-and-sleeker/
Its probably like the Angry Birds Beta.
That didn't work, then they brought out the final and it worked.
But try emailing mozilla and telling them is doesn't work on a lg gt540 running android 2.1, and they then can build a list of devices that don't work and possibly find out why.
Hope this Helps!
It wont work because of minimum hardware specs. ARM 7 1Ghz processor etc...

Try that
have you personally tried the arm6 release?

You can get some ARMv6 versions/Adreno GPU versions (our X8 has a adreno 200 GPU) bon sites like blackdroid and andguru (just google for them, I can´t post the links because this are sites where you can get warez), but until now I got nothing else than FCs.
I´ll open a thread in the Themes&Apps Froum when I´ll find a working one.
@sahibunlimited:
It´s a known bug on the X10.
Just wait, I´m sure they´ll fix this bug someday.

I got on blackdroid... I been asking question... Will the aderno or armv6 version work? Did it work for u? but 550 MB?! IS THAT REAL?!
Sent from LGE XDA phone
I got a force-close with Adreno apk+Adreno data, and I want to try the ARMv6 apk+Adreno data, and if this doesn´t work, I´ll search on other websites.
And only the versions for high-end phones have 550MB.....the data we can use has around 520MB...and when it asks you to download the data, just add

By the way:
I think this NFS is only compatible with Gingerbread, so, if you get FCs, flash a new ROM!

[Q] Why NO-MIUI for O1 ?

Title says it all
we have a armv6 chip but MIUi uses armv7 libs so we cant have MIUI.
ok... now i get it..
thanks
There was a vote to have support, but we paled in comparison to other devices like GSII. Also they would need to resize to MDPI from HDPI and other things.

Is there a touchwiz 4.0

Is there a touchwiz 4.0 for galaxy 3
Sent from my GT-I5800 using XDA App
TouchWiz 4.0 requires ARM v7 and didn't work on our device (I'm not sure, but if it works on it, probably will be on our G3 forum).
Somewhere on xda, there are TW4 for all devices, and you can check.

[SOLVED] What makes a ROM or Device it's CPU?

What makes a ROM or Device it's CPU?
Whether it's Armv7 or Armv6 or something else.
Is it the libs or the apps?
(This is something I'm wondering, in order to port Armv7 Roms to Armv6)
Can be both...
Some games for example are Armv7 only, and opera (I thought) was recently ported to ARNv6
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Lol So it's both?
Hmmm If I can just port the Armv7 apps to Armv6 I'll be able to run Armv7 on Armv6
Another question:
Do I brick my phone if I changed (in the build.prop):
Code:
ro.product.cpu.abi=armeabi-v6l
to
Code:
ro.product.cpu.abi=armeabi-v7l

ARM is a CPU architecture. ARMv5, ARMv6, ARMv7 and now ARMv8 is supported on Linux, which is the base of android. So basically everything native to Linux is architecture dependent (binaries, libs, kernel). Everything Java isn't (apps). However there are apps (browsers, games etc) that load Linux libs from Java code. Such apps also need to be ported.
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
After like, 5+ Months, I've figured it out.
It is the libs and frameworks that makes a ROM it's CPU.
And the apps depend on the framework, so if the framework is whatever, then the app is the same type.
Thanks to my friend dhk.- for shedding some light on me on how to port a Armv7 Rom to Armv6 shown HERE in his MIUI Port
You need to replace smalis in framework.jar
