Well, I bought the 64GB microSDXC card, so it needs to be used!

No microsd card slot? I was waiting for this phone but not now. I just bought a 64 gb card too. If I wanted to be limited on space I would buy an iphone. What a let down.
We're comin from a pure power source.

If there's no SD card slot than you can forget about it. On some of them they're just sealing the SD cards in so you can't upgrade them.

Is it a SanDisk? The stock 8gb card that comes with our phone overperforms what it is rated which made me go with the 32gb class 4 due to the many negative remarks from other cards that are class 10 but underperforms (PNY mainly)

Exactly, which means the pic isn't the current version of the phone. It was probably an early test model but im sure its been redesigned a bunch of times since then. No matter though, we'll see next week. I would expect a sprint version to be totally different than whats shown off at MWC.

SDXC Next Month

http://androidcommunity.com/sandisk-announces-64gb-microsdxc-for-mobile-phones-20110915/
Check this out. Sandisk will release the SDXC 64 GB cards for sale next month. Now I have never seen anyone advertise or mention any phones that support SDXC. Could be because there were no cards for phones yet.
Anyway to find out if any Android phones already support it?
With SDXC I could finally fit all my Games on to one phone so I would jump on this.
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
If I'm reading correctly, according to Wikipedia there should be limitations in the device hardware that prevent an SDHC capable device from handling SDXC cards:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital#SDHC_and_SDXC_compatibility_issues
So theoretically a firmware update could make the EVO 3D compatible.
At $219 for 64GB, I think most people would hold off, though.
Yeah that price is going to have to go down dramatically. I'm sure by the time Summer 2013 rolls around I'll get one.

Just like the 32 GB SD cards they will go down in price eventually. SDXC is capable of going to 2 TB imagine that in our phones

If phones do start adapting sdxc like Sandisk seems to be implying we could expect memory to double year after year based on how SDHC ramped up to 32 GB

I cannot wait for 64gb. I love evolving technology
This works on the Evo 3D !!!! LOVING IT Now I can ALMOST fit all of my PS1 games!
I imagine this will work with most phones as long as you format it correctly.
The only issue I had was I have the CM7 alpha for my Evo 3D and it could not reformat my SD card
I swapped to my wife's non rooted phone and it formatted the card properly.
I honestly think this belief that our phones would not work with SDXC cards was a misconception because all the manufactures marketed them as "up to 32 GBs" They did that cause that was all that was around at the time.

Chances are high to see a sdxc capacity card double each year the same SDHC did. SDXC already has prototypes of micro sdxc cards up to 2 TBS
Sent from my PG06100 using Tapatalk
It probably also had to do with people remembering how the SDHC transition was, where there was an actual hardware difference that meant devices that weren't designed for SDHC simply wouldn't recognize an SDHC card.
Great to see that SDXC works for us.

New 64 Gig Micro SDXC on a Rezound...

This is regarding the new 64 gig SDXC cards on the Rezound.
Has anyone tried these on the Rez?
I'm reading a lot about these and I'm wondering 2 things:
Is 32 gigs really the limit on the Rezound, or can the 64 be used?
And, have there been any reformatting issues with ANY size SDXC micro cards on the Rezound.
Please, respond if you have actually done it on the Rez. (There's a lot of conflicting info on the interwebz from people whose one-legged cousin in Philly knows a guy whose blind lesbian sister did it & it was fine. )
Yes, someone has formatted one in the Rezound successfully:

I'm reading in the reviews on Amazon how an off brand SDXC card was fine for a few days and then choked... from SEVERAL purchasers.
I'm not saying that guys lying or anything, but I'd certainly like more than one confirmation before I spend almost 100 bucks on something.
I have and use one. I can't post pictures yet, although I tried. Not enough posts.
After formatting I get a little under 60gb of workable space. Fits roughly 12 720p movies.

I think it would be bad ass if a manufacturer like HTC or Samsung. Broke the mold and started putting dual Micro SD card slots. Then you could have internal storage a fast class 10 and a nice fat 64gb class 6 for whatever els. I then iphone users would be upset cause the can't get that much storage. And 720p and NFC.

Micro SD slot?

Sorry guys, I know this is a bad question but, does the sgs3 have a SD card slot + the 16 or 32 GB? Pretty sure it does but need a quick answer.
I currently own a galaxy nexus an through my gf upgrade, I can. Get the sgs3 for $100. Long story short, she was unhappy with her 4g incredible an is out of the 14 day return an she doesn't want to exchange it with anything else because the other phones are too big. But Verizon would cut us a deal on the 16 GB. That's not enough but if I can add more storage via a SD slot, then I'll go through.

Just to amend what ClubDownforce said, it supports microsdxc, up to 64gb max. You could top out at 80gb of storage on a 16gb model, and 128gb total on a 64gb model if you wait for those to be released.

Since when do you need a water proof/shock proof flash drive? Lost track the number of times I've inadvertently washed a sd or microsd card in the laundry, let it dry, plugged it in and had it working just fine. Can't say that I've ever exposed them to excessive forces but I'm not certain that they would make much difference anyway

Lol I was laughing at that as well, that they marketed it as "waterproof and shockproof." Flash memory isn't subject to water damage (unless it has power going to it) nor shock. Just a marketing gimmick lol.

I found that a Lot of Ebay(Almost all) and some Unknown brand Amazon MicroSD's either Fail or have a modified partition table.. Ebay is notorious for the latter.
What they do is take a 8GB micro SD and change the partition table to report 64GB and then put it in a loop. So once you hit 8GB it overwrites the last 8 GB with the next 8GB.
Effectively your destroying any data beyond 8GB.
There are tools out there to do a scan of cards to determine if this is the case but unless it's a Name brand Class 10 from good seller I wouldn't by it.
That is very disheartening information,,,I just bought a 64GB card from eBay for like twenty bucks.....hope it's a true 64?
