Red Squiggly Lines -Spelling Correction- - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I remember seeïng in the ICS keynote that system wide spelling correction would be implemented. What I want is for text to be checked system wide when I type, like how on a desktop red lines appear under misspelled words as you type. Anyone ever use a galaxy nexus to see if it was present there? I swear that I saw this feature in ICS, but was wondering if anyone else has I tried the XXLPB ICS leak and didn't notice it =[

Yeah i was wondering about this also and not noticed anything thought there might be a setting to turn it on but cant see anything unless i missed it somehow but honestly dont think its there been using XXLPB for a over a week now :/

i am also after this too this was one of the main fatures i wanted out of ics as blackberry has this as standard and i was disapointed that GB didnt even have this on when i moved to android and when i saw ics has it i was chuffed but after updating my galaxy to ics they seem to have removed this feature?

I tried the CM9 beta, and it was working just fine. I just don't understand why it was omitted from touchwiz...

[Q] Did Your Google Navigation Screen Change With The Last Update

On a recent trip I decided to use Google Navigation on my WI-FI tablet while tethered to my phone, in doing so I noticed that the screen looked odd as in the screen shot below:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I also ran into a problem were it began to not only give direction it was also reading out load the html behind the route.
Today I decided to undo the update that was applied and the screen once again looks like the original:
Has anyone ran into this issue and does your screen look like any of these two?
i guess no one is having this problem ...
Mine looks weird too.
I have never the app used though. wifi-only.
yeah i got that too...i updated my tab apps few hours before....its kinda weird....someone give a good solution
I'm wifi also but I tether to my phone when I go out and don't have access to Wi-Fi. The only way I've figured to fix it is to remove the update, everything works after that. Beware if you install it.
Issue Solved
Looks like the update to 3.2 corrected this issue. The screen now looks polished and functional.

[Q] Show CPU Usage

I'm curious, the "Show CPU Usage" in Android 4 Dev Tools has three numbers at the top. Can anyone tell me which each one means?
Thanks.
Do you have a screen capture?
Wouldn't it be the loadavg?
I am wondering the same thing. Here's the screenshot from ICS:

"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Found the answer: http://blog.scoutapp.com/articles/2009/07/31/understanding-load-averages
Does anybody know, what the colors of this CPU usage means? When I start few apps, blue bar appear and device freze until blue bar disapear.
Shouldn't be I/Os? Like slow flash memory in my tablet? (ainol novo7 elf)
I never saw this on SGS2...
Same question here! What exactly does the colours mean??!
I was looking this up a few months ago and came across this thread. I just realized that the colours are based off of htop: serverfault.com/questions/180711/what-exactly-do-the-colors-in-htop-status-bars-mean (which makes sense).
Blue = Low priority threads
Green = Normal priority threads
Red = Kernel threads

[Q] Touch issues in Internet-related apps

Hello everyone.
I've recently upgraded my Gingerbread-Based RAZR to ICS. My Rom is middle eastern version by the way.
Everything seems fine except the problem I have with the touch in the Internet browser and Facebook. when I touch a search result in the browser or a picture in Facebook for example, an orange frame appears somewhere else and navigates me to some other link or picture! The thing is, when I hold my finger on the result/picture I tend to open, the orange frame comes to where it should be and the correct link/picture will be opened.This problem only happens with apps related to the internet, and the touch works perfectly fine in any other apps/environments.
I made a factory reset and installed miui rom on my Razr, and no matter how lovely the Miui theme is, the results are the same.
Does anyone else have had a similar issue? Any ideas what should I do?
I have attached a screenshot. Maybe it clarifies my problem.

Hey, I get that glitch too!
I'm using CleanRom 1.6.5. What rom are you using? Do you think its an issue related to our custom rom's?
I'm on stock unrooted ME7 currently, although I've seen it on other S4 ROMS. It started with an update shortly after the S4 came out.
The only workaround I've recently found is uninstalling the updates for it in the app manager. Idk what was changed or added to the newer versions, but the bug isn't apparent in the older version.
I would really like to see an actual fix though. Hopefully a small tweak can be made somewhere to fix it.
Seems like this has to do with the Youtube app. We might have to wait until google releases an updated version with this fix.

[Q] Both cameras on my phone taking photos in greyscale

Hello,
So last night I went out with some friends, had a few (read: like 20) drinks and don't really remember much (read: anything). I'm not sure what happened to my phone but when I try and use either camera now everything is totally grey. There's zero physical damage to my phone (that I can see). Both cameras seem totally fine from inspection of the device. So I'm thinking this must be some kind of software issue? It would seem strange that both cameras would break at once.
Front camera:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
back camera:
One other thing is there are 3 pictures on the phone from last night, two of them totally back and the third grey (looks exactly like when I take a picture now of total blackness). So I can deduce the problem started between 12:50am and 12:51am lol.
Anyone ever had this happen before? I haven't found anything on google. Anyone know of anyway to fix or troubleshoot it? I should also mention I'm on CyanFox 2.0.2-20140216-NIGHTLY (I haven't updated in a while whoops).
Thanks
