This is for the international version of the gnote.
Speaker, s pen, camera and led cut outs are identical.
Bottom tabs are in perfect positions
Top and the sides the tabs were a little wide and a bit off on position. with a exacto knife i was able to trim excess off the tabs so it lined up to snap in. Some of the tabs ended up a lot smaller than the stock size but still had that click sound when i put it on. Once it was on it was pretty secure and snug. Compared to the stock cover. its a bit easier to take off and had a good feel to it. its also thicker and kinda have a less slippery feel.
I am pretty satisfied with the product build. It was nicely crafted. Only issue is the red looks more pink to me than red and it was made for the international version.

Hows the signal compare to the stock? Aluminum and other metals can block radio waves. It is a real problem, not sure how you could avoid it with that cover.

Thanks im gonna do the same I ordered 2 doors. the carbon and a white leather one.. Thanks for the run down i fig it would be something simple to make these work.

IT'S NOT PINK BRO IT'S "CRIMSON" LOL nice work though man!

its thicker. i'd say original + half of original is the thickness. enough to sink the camera lens down a bit.

Im hoping I can get all my battery covers to work like yours. Do you have before and after pics of the cuts you made? I got 4 international covers after they pretty much confirmed the size and shape were identical. I had no idea they would make the tabs different I have a really nice carbon fiber patterned one that feels like leather that I can't get to fit right. I just dont want to go and start cutting tabs and mess one up and it not fit properly
TIA

I hope someone sells these for the AT&T Note. I ordered one of these and tried to cut it to fit but ended up with the cover not properly holding/latching on half of one side.

Just wondering did you detach the nfc part of the original and put it on the red one?

Rubber hard case? or hard rubber BACK cover

I have been using a cheap ebay soft silicon case since I got my x10
and so far, it's been GREAT! except for the aesthetic part....
it's ugly as hell on my phone..
but i'm so clumsy and i've dropped my phone so many times, on carpets, on pavement, on stairs, etc. and still nothing's broken, and there's not even a crack or a scratch..
i've never used a hard case before.. and i was wondering how they are like.. in terms of 'protecting the phone'
i'm kind of worried that when i put a hard case on and drop it by mistake, the case will come off (kinda like when you sometimes drop your cheap cell phones, the battery comes off)
or that it won't be as protective as my current silicon case...
i have a sensuous white phone.. and i'm looking at these cases

and
the first one protects the front as well, but the second one looks prettier..(imo)
if anyone owns above cases, please let me know what they are like and also whether i should go for the back cover or full hard case..
thank you!!
also, what colour should i go for? i'm leaning towards red on white..
but i also like pink-white, or white-white..
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/capdase-alumor-metal-case-sony-ericsson-xperia-x10-black-p24926.htm
I've dropped it on concrete with this on and not a problem. Aluminium on the outside, rubber on the inside with a rubber lip to hold the phone in place. Nice and snug.
Haha! The BACK case has the wrong cutting for the camera xD
i use a capdase soft jacket 2,and it is great.

well i'm just wondering if anyones used them and if they have.. how they are in terms of protection...
i drop my phone a lot so i need a sturdy case
How about you stop being clumsy idiots and not drop your phone or just not buy good things.
I bought a black rubberized hard case just like the pink one you mentioned. It looks good in the pictures, but I really didn't like it. It ended up making the phone bulky, and the build quality was not perfect where one side was not finished completely and felt rough to the touch.
I then went with a TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) case instead, and I've been very satisfied with it. TPU plastic doesn't have that stickiness of silicone but is thin and flexible enough to keep the X10's shape. On eBay there are different colors to choose from and they seem to come with and without patterns. Just do a search for 'xperia x10 tpu'. I got a no-pattern smoke colored one for a few dollars (USD) with free shipping, and I think it's great.

Anyone used the Nillkin case?

There are several sellers on ebay pushing them. I'm just curious how they fit and how thin they are.

This one looks nice, quite tempted to try one out

I too am curious about these cases. I also stumbled upon these on Ebay and tend to like them quite a bit more than the Nillkin (at least cosmetically) and they look to be a little thinner as well...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/330839147407?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
I've been using the black Nillkin case for a little over a week and I love it. It's very thin -- it hangs over the top and bottom of the phone a very little bit. The case won't protect the screen at all, as the ridges on the side do not seem to raise past the screen's height.
The only downfall is the fit isn't 100% accurate -- the the buttons don't line up exactly with the holes in the case. This doesn't cause any issues because they aren't being pressed down. The worst is the camera button's alignment. I'll try to take some pics when I get off of work.
Overall, I would definitely recommend if you're looking for an non-intrusive, cheap but nice looking & feeling, scratch-protector case. Do NOT buy it if you're in the market for drop protection.
p.s. The black looks great with a white nokia. The white shows through on open bottom, top, and around the camera area in the back.
ALSO, works perfectly with the wireless charger.

i actually bought the gray version of that case off amazon, it came in yesterday and i'm quite happy with it. it provides a LOT more grip when holding and adds virtually no bulk. well placed cutouts for the camera and side buttons as well.
wireless charging works through the case too. overall very happy with my $8 purchase.

[Q] What material is the side panels made of?

I am confused with what material the sides are made of. At SONY's homepage for the Z Ultra they claim it's made of "solid metal" and glass on the front and the back.

But in every video review, online magazine I've seen so far the majority say the sides are made of plastic, polycarbonate plastic, matte finish plastic and what else they can come up with.
If you own this device, can you feel/tell what the side panels are made of?
Sides are made of metal. I do not know whether it is aluinium or some other kind of alloy...
I have doubts about the top and bottom parts of the frame though.
They look the same compared to the sides, but feels ever so slightly different when you compare consciously.
The difference is more apparent when your hone has been sitting under A/C. Sides get super cool, as u would expect metallic objects to do. But the top and bottom frame doesn't get as cold.

Thank you, that's a relief :good:, I want a phone with actual metal bezel after having the plasticy SGS2 and One x. I miss this premium feeling from the iphone and Blackberry 9900. Im gonna ask the seller at my local store to put a black LTE version away for me when they get them in order in about 2 week(ish).
Perhaps the antennas is located at the bottom and top?.. anyways I found a pic at the internals, perhaps not much to help.
I dropped mine and hit the top right corner and it was plastic looks like alloy and the color is the same so there is no scratch just looks smushed
Top and bottom pieces is plastic, side ones is metal
it's a metal

Yup:
Xperia Z Ultra was designed to appear as a “slate.” In order to achieve this effect, we used aluminum on the sides of the phone and glass on the front (including the LCD) as well as the back. These aluminum side plates increased the phone’s sturdiness and allowed us to achieve a comfortable width and premium, slim design. The phone is only 6.5 mm thick and 92mm wide, practically the same size as a passport.
I'm not happy after seeing the internals... there's a big ass room for a flash bulb in there!!
Why oh why Sony?????
But meh... i' still gonna buy it once the LTE version gets released..

Any covers that avoid the rounded back?

Hi guys,
one thing that annoys me is the rounded back of the nexus. When you lay it on the table it turns left and right when scrolling onehandedly....this is really nerveracking.
At the moment I use one of them TPU cases but this has the same rounding and thus the same turning.
Are there any (non-flip) covers that tackle this?
Cheers
check out the ringke fusion case. I love it and solved that issue for me
look at diztronic case, is not totally flat but helps to make N6 more stable
http://www.amazon.it/Diztronic-Matt...=1449071789&sr=8-1&keywords=diztronic+nexus+6
Cheers guys...but both cases are rounded too, how does it solve it?
The Poetic Revolution has a flat back. It has some pegs on the inside back wall that are holding the phone in place. Great case, except for the flat buttons but you can get used to those.
I had this one...
http://www.amazon.com/Evocel®-Prote...merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1450211642&sr=1-31
Makes the phone flat, but pretty bulky, and no longer feels like a luxury item in this case.
Hi guys, thanks again for all those tips....
Got myself this one now :
Nillkin Slim Armor Bumper Rahmen-Schutzhülle, stoßfest, für Google Nexus, 6 https://www.amazon.de/dp/B00T2R9V7A/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_hnACwb693RZ0W
It is perfect, no rocking and turning, the phone lies firmly on those two bars running from the backsides' top to bottom.
Only downside is that you now can see the white back case which I bought accidently but kept.

The Ringke FUSION has a ring around the nexus logo that effectively stabilizes the phone. It is not perfectly stable, but ends up being fine for light usage of the phone when it's laying on a table. See this picture (found via google image search) for a better view of how it works.
Big image

Is that frame around the Nexus-Word indented? If so then yes, that should indeed work as well.
I'm sure someone could 3D print a case with enough incentive. I would pay decent money for a case that flattens the phone so I wouldn't have to give up my airdock

Indeed. If it had a matte soft touch feel (like the Nexus5), and if it filled in the curves without adding much height to the hump on the back, that'd be great. It'd be thin in the middle, thicker on the sides of the back where the curve goes up.
The problem with the Nillkin Slim Armor Bumper is that it does add some height above the back area. If it had half the height off the back, it'd still be a fine case. Sometimes I'm tempted to find a belt sander and smooth it down a bit on my own.
Evocel and Ranz on amazon are both flat backs
That Ranz case is the worst piece of crap I ever bought. I threw it away immediately after I got it.

Samsung Leather Case (quick review)

Yesterday, I threw caution and fiscal sense to the wind and invested £85 in the Samsung leather case (in black) for my Fold. I have tried the aramid case that came in the box but found it shows too many prints and smudges as well as not protecting the camera hum glass when laid back down. I also tried the Spigen thin fit case which is fine but I was concerned that the device was maybe not shutting properly when folded due to the fact that the case edges sit slightly proud of the main screen when open, hence my decision to buy the leather case.
The leather case is very light, very slim, very comfortable to hold and looks great, the back part is just thick enough to keep the camera glass away from the surface you lie it on and all the various cut outs for buttons, cameras and ports are perfectly place and sized.
Is it worth £85? Probably not but then again, having already coughed up an insane amount of cash for the device in the first place, why not go the whole hog and get the case as well.
If your wallet will run to it - recommended.
I got the original leather cover, too and am very happy with it. The free case is not good. It is so thin and hardly provides any protection.

Actually it's not the same sticky tape. It is more of a suction layer to stick to the glass. Which is much better as it doesn't get stuck to dust and lint that's in your pocket compared to the free case.
Ah cool I'll prob get one I just use the clearshield thing I got on front and back and use the free case with phone
Got the original case today does look and feels nice but still way over priced even though i paid £79.99 which is currently the cheapest anywhere some places selling for £120 inc samsung
That "adhesive" is cool because it is reusable. If it gets dirty just run it under some water and let it air dry. You can wipe down the leather side but let the sticky side air dry and its like BRAND NEW in just a couple minutes!
OP how are you getting on with your fold and the leather case?
Might be coming back into the fold ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ?with the fold2.
Have any of you guys/gals had any experience with more noreve leather cases?
