[Q] T-Mobile Surveys - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I keep getting these annoying spam-like things coming to my phone, telling me a I can get am iphone or other stuff if I just take a survey. They are not sms's, they show up in the notification area as a T-Mobile Survey. How do I stop it?

They are called push notifications. Get Adson from the market to fond the offending app and delete it. There are a few other apps on the market that do this too.

[Q] Managing Notifications

Hello.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S 4 with AOKP, but I think this applies to Android JB in general.
So, I spend quite a bit of time at my computer. Most of the time, I have my phone right next to it. So, when I get a new e-mail (Gmail), I get a notification on the phone, but I usually see it first on Gmail via webmail. The thing is, I wish once I mark that e-mail (or all new mail) as READ, the phone should stop flashing the notification LED.
Same thing goes for Google Talk (Chat). I chat with people I work with all day long. When I get new message, the phone notifies me, but the conversation is long over. So, since I replied on my PC, the notification should go away.
I know I could turn off notifications, but I like them. They're just not very intelligent.
Does anyone know of apps, ways, or tricks to tame these?

More Ads

Just thought I would toss this out. Been getting a nagging update to voicemail that gives the ability to add avatars to incoming and out going messages. Well I broke down and excepted the update. The avatars are kinda weird looking, but it also installs advertising on the bottom of the app. Thank god for backups, just what we need more Ads !!!

how to stop SMS link preloading

The person who had my number before me was apparently bad at even attempting to manage privacy, I get spam calls and texts for them pretty regularly. I had one scammer in particular get so angry with me that he hung up on me after 20 minutes of hassling me. Whatever group he worked with proceeded to harass me with over 100 calls in the next three days. It's gone back to a more "normal" level of spam but, lately, I'm getting shortlinks to payday loan sites.
I know how to report the SMS to my carrier, the FTC, and the FCC. I can report the shortlink to the shortening service and it immediately gets taken down.
The problem is that my phone has already "followed" the link and it shows up as a click. I can tell because the info page for the shortlink always shows a click from Chrome on Android.
I'm using Messenger and I'd prefer not to switch but I suppose I'm willing if it's the only option. There's a part of me that wants to use Verizon's messaging app because of its ability to text over Wifi and sync to the web client as well but it appears to have the same issue as Messenger and it's ugly as sin.
I'm using a Nexus 5X with stock Android.

Issues with Google Android Messages App Not Receiving MMS and LG's Messenging App

Hey guys...so since I've owned my V30 I've always been a user of Google's Messages app. It works flawelessly other than the fact that MMS's and Group Messages don't always come through. They'll show who sent them and state something along the lines of "unable to download, please click to retry" after doing so, sometimes the message is recovered sometimes it is not able to. More often not able to. Recently, it would seem I've become more annoyed with this issue. After many calls back and forth the with T-Mobile they've recommended I ditch Google's Messages app and use the included LG Messaging app.
Well, I can tell you...I no longer have issues not receiving MMS's or Group Messages....The issue I have now is, the LG app is SUPER SLOW. It can take 10-30 seconds just to open a chat....and if I have a group chat open with an active chat...the entire phone and app will freeze until the last message has stopped being received.
Does anybody have any suggestions to getting Google Messages working, or speeding up the LG Messaging app? I am not rooted so I'm stuck using this crappy app even disabled and not the default messaging app. I also removed LG Package disabler to see if turning something off was the issue but it is not.

Question How to remove voicemail notification and never see it again?

Not sure how it happened, but someone left me a voicemail on at&t and now phone shows this annoying "new voicemail" notification. I can not turn it off because it is created by "phone services", and samsung prohibits me from disabling voicemail notifications. I don't have access to at&t voicemail, and I don't want to. I just want to shut it down and never see it again.
I'm starting to have buyers remorse for getting this piece of junk which force feeds me with stuff I don't wanna eat
Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, u my only hope
Well I'm not Obi Wan Kenobi and the only force I can use is sudo. Try notifications off by Giorgi on the Google play store.
