Select all folders Miuimusic folder restrictions - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello I've being using miui for a while now and I really like the music player but there is only one dealbreaker.
I'm using banshee and rhythmbox (on ubuntu) to transfer the music to the phone. these programs generate a folder tree as follows
Sdcard/music/artist/album.... Te etc.
The thing is that I can't find a way to make my miui player to load all the folders and songs inside the sdcard/music folder when I'm limiting the music search to this particular folder in only loads the songs that are on this folder but not the subfolders and their content.
Please help

Playlists from folders

Anyone know of a program that can create playlist files from folders? I keep my music organized by style.
For example, Music--> Soundtracks -> Movie Soundtracks --> Prince of Persia. or
Music --> Techno --> House.
I have found this MUCH easier to maintain than making playlists everywhere but I can't get the default player on the Vibrant to recognize Folder structures so...anyone know of an app that can CREATE playlist files out of music folder structure? I can then feed these playlists to the music program I want to use.
I don't like how Astroplayer sounds so I'd rather not use a different music player. I just want to save and create playlist files or make the phone SEE the folder structure AS playlists.

I just use Mixzing which plays the playlists (.m3u files) I made with WinAmp just fine. I have foldered structures for my mp3 files similar to yours and each album has a playlist file in its folder.
Playlist from folders
Creating playlists based on folder content would be useful. Using .m3u files works fine until files are added or deleted.
I use a play list .bat file. Google m3u create batch file. Its simple code.

HTC Music Player

Hi all, is there a way to have the HTC player read only the mp3 files in my "my music" folder instead if playing all my music and wav files that I have on my phone? I added a bunch of music from my library to my "my music" folder and it seems like a pain in the rear to add a playlist to only those files since I have to add them all manually. 300+ songs...ya right! If the player can read only files in a certain folder that would be great.

use itunes to make the playlist. right click on it and export as an m3u file, drag it to your music folder and use the all playlist
you can put them in a .music folder that would be hidden i believe from the player
Create a folder named. Nomedia add it where the files you don't want to show up like ringtones etc

Google Music plays ringtones...

It seems I can not figure out how to keep Google Music (GM) from playing all my ringtones and notifications. Now, because I downloaded the 640+ 7z file that's floating around here on XDA (thanks BTW) it can go for several minutes playing various beeps and whistles.
So, I guess I am looking for a bailout for GM... :-!
(I know that was pretty bad.)
Anyone know how to prevent this without putting a .nomedia file in each folder?

I think Google Music ignores the "blessed" folders where tones are normally kept (media>ringtones/alarms/notifications) but may pick up music stored in other folders under media.
I have several tone folders under media that are picked up by GM, but the standard folders are ignored.
I had the same problem, even with the old i8000. The solution was to name the folder with the music - "Music", and ringtones - "Ringtones".The same SD card is now in my RAZR and the phone does not use ringtones in player.
Well, the folders are media>Music and media>audio.
I try both solutions, thanks.

In case you don't know yet, the standard operation is to add an empty file titles ".nomedia" to any folder you don't want to be scanned for media. This works with most mustic players I've tried, including Google/Play Music.
In Windows, you can't name a file with just an extension but you can with cmd prompt. So just create a text file with right-click->New->Text file called "nomedia.txt" and use cmd prompt to do "ren nomedia.txt .nomedia"
then copy that folder to your ringtone folders, regardless of name.

[Q] Edit Music Player play list?

I've been having trouble editing the play lists, is there a soft ware like itunes on computer which you can create and edit play list easily?
One thing that bothers me about the music player on this phone is that it shows every track in the SD, including the tracks in the game Real Racing 2, which I installed in the SD. Is there anyway to let the player play the songs only in the Music folder?
I also find that there were few duplicate songs in song list, even i just put in one of it.
Open file explorer and add a . (dot) at the beginning.
This works for all media like pictures etc.
Example:
Music
What you do is >
.Music

thanks, did mean add a dot before mp3 files or before folder name?
Folder name
Sorry, forgot to say that
Send from the best device ever.
Go to the folder with songs you don't need and create a file named .nomedia (with a dot, it's important). Then this folder and everything inside it will not show up in the music player/ gallery.
