You can be a a little more specific here?
Your phone connects to your router (wifi network), yes?
But it won't load any pages or let your browse while having a wifi signal?
Is that the problem you're having?
Yes that's exactly the problem... I've got other things that connect to the router without issue. My Xbox, my computer. But the phone won't do anything once its connected

Do you have something that blocks network access, like DroidWall, installed?
EDIT: To clear up - DroidWall has the ability to block an app's access to the network for 3g, wifi, or both. So it's POSSIBLE, if you have it installed, that you have it allowed for 3g, but not for wi-fi.
That said: is it ONLY on your home wi-fi that you get this? Try it on another wi-fi network. Does it work on any other wi-fi network? If so, then if you think there is no firewall on your home wi-fi, then I think you're wrong.
it does not on any wi fi network and I did not installed any kind if firewall app

Not a very large sampling size. I'd try some more.
EDIT: someone else on here was having trouble with a web site on wifi, that worked on 3g. Turned out he had issues with his hosts file. If you're rooted, look in /etc for a hosts file, and see if it has addresses for vlingo in it. I don't know what those addresses might be, you'll have to research that yourself.

the folder is actually created by an apk to prevent ads in games and there are done urls that are redirected to some IP will look if vlingo is in it
EDIT: deleted the file still doesn't work one thing I noticed it gives.error when it hear noises if I don't make any noise then no error it just waits for command

Did you reboot after deleting? (incidentally, you should ALWAYS back up files before you delete them...)

Hmm. Well, SOMETHING is blocking your phone from getting to vlingo's servers when you're on wifi. ... But I've run out of ideas, if you're SURE you don't have a firewall on your home wifi, and you got rid of your/etc/hosts file.
How many other wifi networks have you tried this on now?

I woke up and voila it works with home wi fi . don't know what happened :-D now the market problem remains only. market apps not showing
EDIT: again the problem :'(

BT Openzone

I'm with Vodafone UK and disabled every option I can find to so my phone auto connecting to BT openzone, yet if I have my wifi enabled when out and about it keeps connecting to it.
I wouldn't mind but can't get it to actually work, so would rather it not connect at all.
This isn't the same as connecting to open networks as it doesn't do that automatically it only connects to BT openzone and networks I have set it to remember.
Anyone any ideas what else I can set to stop this?

I can't help you with this problem. But isn't it possible to get a wifi connection at your home? Shouldn't be that expensive and a lot easier.

In moments such as where you don't want to give your routers password for a stranger for a temporary purpose..
I also need this...
I don't think there's an app that can do this. If you use the wifi radio to connect to a router, you can't use it at the same time to create an hotspot. I'm quite sure of that. Sorry for my bad english guys
