Video Review of the Hybrid Case from Reiko - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

So I purchased the Reiko hybrid/kickstand case off of Amazon (you can also get on eBay... they run $8-15). I chose the white because I have a white note, but it comes in several other very attractive colors as well (including multi-colored versions like red and black).
Overall, I am very pleased and impressed with the quality, especially for the price. Highly recommended. Here's my video review:

Awesome video. I ordered one for my Note, but the Amazon reseller sent me a case for the SII instead. It seems like a nice case so I've ordered another one from eBay.
Thanks for the review!

You're welcome, glad I could help! Several other users on this forum have posted how pleased they are with this product as well so I'm sure you'll be satisfied with your purchase

Doesn't the rubber coating make it hard to take out of your pocket?

Thanks for the vid review! Looks interesting, although it seems to add quite a bit of thickness. Does it still fit in your front pocket pretty well or it is pretty bulky with the case on?

Yeh i have the same one, different color. I had the same one for the S II
Kickstand is a lil tricky to pop out
but protection wise, it has hi raised edges to protect again concrete or pavement slides
the rubber feel provides excellent grip
it does make the Note a tad bit thicker but i can manage it
cheap price too (got from amazon)
Is that all white tough to keep clean? especially the rubber portion

[Q] Best TPU(ish) Case "thin and light" - Poll

Ok, so i've see a lot of great threads on cases and some really good reviews too and now my OCD is starting to kick in.
Which case is the best? I'm looking for something durable, light, and thin. Preferably TPU or some sort of soft and flexible material NOT silicone.
Pretty much i'm looking for the same case as what i had on my captivate, the mirage by bodyglove.
I've got a few different cases that i'm trying to decide between but i'm having a problem making the final decision.
I'm asking YOU, fellow SGS2-ers, to help me decide. Place your vote and leave a note (hey that rhymes!) and i will be sure to post a detailed review of the case if one hasn't been made already (or contribute to one that already exists)!
Thanks!
Here are the cases i am considering, in no particular order..

And off we go!
Great roundup you've got there. I have the TPU-Case and love it, but hard to say it's the best without trying the others.
I would certainty recommend it though!
I've got the case mate barely there bushed aluminum and I really like it. I didn't think I would but I'm so. It's nice and thin and covers the phone well. It adds a little weight but to me it actually makes the phone feel better.

mine already broke by the volume rocker and the aluminum dents REALLY easily, its a very nice case though
I have this Incipio case:
http://www.myincipio.com/Samsung-Ga...-II-ATandT-NGP-Semi-Rigid-Soft-Shell-Case.asp
It is very nice quality, and fits perfectly. It does however have an small cutout for the international version's lanyard. It is really small though, so not too big of a problem. Some of the ones I have seen have the whole corner cutout for the international version (Ringke cases had this problem, which is why I did not choose that one). That seems like a huge problem to me, since if you drop it, the entire corner is exposed.
Hope this helps
I also have the Incipio and while it fits great (I did modify it to make a hole for the NC Mic), I'm not liking the extra effort required to turn the phone on or off. That action is already difficult enough with no case, but it's made even more difficult with the NGP.
Thanks for bringing to light this Incipio case. I just bought it. It looks like they fixed the problem with covered NC microphone. Now the cutout for it looks huge to fit AT&T and International version. Maybe they improved power button as well.

Thanks for linking that case, i haven't seen that one yet. I'll take a closer look at it and see if i can find a detailed review.
A quick google search led me to this good video review of the Incipio NGP (a TPU case). Looks to be a little dated though, the model they show on the Incipio webpage has a larger cutout for the NC mic and a color they didn't mention in the video. Still worth a look though.

I have a rearth case and am loving it, doesn't add much thickness or weight at all, u get 15 colors to choose from, doesn't collect dust, and has the hole for the 2nd mic. Overall very happy with this case.

In all my searching i have yet to find a true carbon fiber case. I've seen plenty of cases with a carbon fiber "design" but they are just regular TPU or skins.

I was heavily considering the Rearth Ringke but i read about some people having trouble with the case splitting apart on them due to small drops (see the Ringke thread here) and i decided to go with the SGP Ultra Capsule instead. I might also pick up the TPU-Case from Amazon just for the sake of having something to compare the SGP against.
I get super slow shipping so i'll put some pictures up in a week or so.

Best flip case for the note?

I bet it does fit, as im pretty sure the discrepancy in size was probably an error in either measurement or conversion between metric and standard units. Every case people have bought for an international note so far has fit the at&t one, even the zenus capsule case, which is hard plastic.
The only things that do not work are replacement battery covers due to the difference in the location of the tabs, which what i linked to is not a battery cover.

I got my wife the tridea case from ebay, its pretty nice and offers better protection than most flip cases around the sides.
I got this case on amazon. Its the Khomo Executive flip case and I can honestly say that it's by far the worst case that you could spend (little) money on. it offers almost no protection aside from the soft felt stickers on the inside. its made from really cheap hard plastic and only snaps around the edges. after putting the phone in it the for the first time, i set it on a white painted bookshelf. it immediately took white paint transfer barely sliding it across the shelf. Im sure if i left phone in there much longer it would have transferred black scratches to my white Note. It barely closes shut and front flip overlaps the edges too far. Worst of all in the design of this is that it covers the volume key. One drop in this case would probably crack the plastic edges and break the phone. Ultimate fail case!!!

That's exactly what I was going for...good quality for a good price. It looked like what I wanted. And that would be a slim tough flip case that could handle a drop or fall and protect my phone. Sadly, this wasn't it, I'll keep trying to find it. I've got a quality case which is my daily but would like a flip style w/o the bulk.

looks nice! Executive and slim?
I know leather would be more scratch resistant but I've always felt the otterbox plastic/rubber was more drop proof!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk
Yeah. The Executive is all leather. Gives good protection but not as stiff.
The Slim has a hard shell and leather overlay. Better protection but more stiff. The Otterbox is excellent protection but more bulk. Depends on what you are looking for.

Exactly! otterbox should make a flipcase. And a slim one at that. Let us know what you think of these. I might have to forgo plastic for leather. If the slim leather fits well with nice corner protection, I'll be buying next.

Why No Leather Case?

Pardon my rant...
Is it so much to ask for a leather case that does NOT have a cover? I just want a nice, simple, slim leather case that is nothing more than a case. I really don't understand why there are hundreds of leather wallet or flip cases, some look as if they even have the nice looking case I want (only attached to a cover) but I have yet to find one single nice leather case. Apple themselves sells a gorgeous and simple leather case for their devices and it irks me that I am pretty much stuck with TPU bugdroid or polycarbonate as my choices for a slim and simple case.
Anyone finding anything I haven't?

Wow, the last time I saw Noreve come up they only had the flip/wallet case and pouches available. The back case (first link in your post) is new to me, and looks... pretty damn close to what I've hoped for. Thanks for the timely reminder!
EDIT: Just did a quick dive through YouTube and am a little skeptical about how accurate the renders on the site are with respect to the thickness of the case along the edges, and specifically how disruptive the cut-out portions might be.
There's a review of the iPhone 6 back case that shows just how chunky the sides are, and if you compare it against how the same product is rendered on Noreve's website, there's a pretty huge visual difference. And in my opinion the thickness on video looks a lot less attractive.
Anyhow, it might be mitigated somewhat by the relatively larger footprint on the Nexus 6, but I kind of don't feel like dropping ~$35 to test it :\
Yeah that case looks wayy too chunky.. the case should just be a thin layer of leather glued to polycarbonate.
You can always do what @Pilz did (and I later copied him). Get yourself one of them real Horween leather back skins from @slickwraps and slap it onto a Spigen case. Pilz has photos all over this forum of how good it looks. I have two cases, one with dark leather and one with distressed tan leather (my favorite), and rock them both. Nothing better than the smell of real leather!

Thats not real leather, and the quality seems to be pretty bad. many of those photos show fibers coming out from under the ring cutout for the camera, for several different colors.

Case, Skin, other for adding grip to slippery phone

I do not usually put my phone in a case because I do not like to add bulk. I like to keep it as slim and trip as possible. I am coming from a prior phone that had a rubberized surface on the edges and back (Droid MAXX - the original). The Pixel is a bit slippery for me.
I am curious what solutions people would recommend for the best way to add grip to the Pixel without adding bulk. Maybe I need to go with one of the thin cases, or maybe there is a skin that could help? I don't need to decorate the phone, but if there is a skin that helps it grip better I would give it a try.
Your options are case, skin, and naked. For cases, you're not going to get any thinner than the Nillkin Nature cases. I'm not a fan of the one I have but it's undeniably low in bulk. For skins, the are a ton of options and you'll have a variety of opinions but if you don't want a case, that's about your best option.
Some skins are grippier than others, even win a single manufacturer, so it's worth asking the manufacturer about it. For example, for dBrand their grippier skins tend to be the carbon fiber options.
Good luck!
I've said this in the other cases thread on here, but I'll post again just in case people don't know about that other thread.
Caudabe (http://www.caudabe.com) makes great, very slim cases for iPhones.
If you email/tweet them to make Veil XT for Google Pixel/Pixel XL, they might consider it.
You can try reaching out to Shumuri too (http://shumuri.com)
I wish that their was an antigravity case for the pixel... I can't stand mounts and would love to just stick my phone to my instrument panel
Based on my experience with them on other phones, a skin won't provide anywhere near as much grip as the surface on that Droid Maxx.
Instead, take a look at the thread on ultra-thin cases:

The Nillkin Nature cases are very slim and definitely add grip to the phone. You can see pics in my post here:

+1. I received the Ice case yesterday; using it on the silver Pixel. I wanted a slim grippy case, one with black rubber to hide the darkening that occurs with time on rubbery areas of phone cases, and a clear back to display the silver/white of the phone. This case is PERFECT. It looks great. And the grip is fantastic.
I just received a blue Speck Presidio Grip and it's a very nice case for adding grip. The blue one is hard to find unless you pay quite a bit of $$ (I found a listing on eBay for used under $20) but the black version can more easily be found for under $20.
The case fits very well without being too difficult to take on and off. The added grip is good without being extreme. The hard plastic has a nice matte feel to it (the previous Speck cases I had was glossy but I like this better). And the buttons have a good clicky feel to them. It's not a minimalistic case like the Nillkin Nature but it's tons better than something like the Incipio Dual Pro.
Hope this helps somebody!

I've purchased two Toast skins now and I really like them. Plus they can laser etch anything you want on there...

I have a best skins ever fitted with the glossy screen and matte body.
Also I have a qi receiver. You can see the USB port blocked by it
The buttons are cut outs so are quite recessed. I had a spigen case on just before that covers the buttons
This case is much less bulky than the spigen
The headphone port is possibly slightly wrong. If you have a headphone socket with a bulky top it might struggle. This is being picky though and I could just get a scalpel to it to increase the hole a mm

Review: Mofi Fabric Case

Hi all! My first few days after having purchased my OP6T, I hopped on eBay and ordered a bunch of cheap and a couple not-so-cheap cases, mostly from China with slow-as-dirt shipping (why is dirt considered slow? Ever seen a mud slide? They can be pretty quick!) Well, the first case to arrive is this Mofi fabric case and it was one of the not-so-cheap cases (I splurged and spent $12 on this one).
I'm doing a very quick mini review of this case for now and will come back and flush this out with my own photos and all when I have more time when I'm not working. What questions do you have that you want to see answered in a more thorough review?
tl;dr summary
I purchased the "Grayish blue stripe" model because I wanted a low contrast difference from the top and bottom patterns. I very much like the results. This is a very nice case. Cutouts are spot on, buttons are clicky, slider is easily slid, and it feels great in hand! The TPU has a rounded smooth surface on the sides (reminds me of the sides of an Incipio DualPro case - that's why I use "rounded smooth" to describe it). I currently own the OP Nylon case and the minimal Karbon case. I already like this case much more than the Nylon case from OP. It seems to offer similar protection while being a tad less bulky.
The case itself is made of three materials: TPU (sides), hard plastic (back inside), and cloth (back outside). There is no microfiber lining on the inside, which is a little concerning (and my biggest issue with this case).
Pros:
Feels great in hand
Much softer "fabric" feel than the OP Nylon case, which doesn't feel "fabricky" at all
Nice tight fit but easy enough to get on and off
Nice clicky buttons
Not bulky. Much less bulky compared to the OP nylon case
Tight-woven fabric that I don't think will snag as easily as some crappy fabric cases
Definitely doesn't feel like a cheap $2 case - premium enough to justify the cost
Cons:
A little pricey at $12 for an eBay case but really not too bad
Sides aren't also fabric like the Pixel cases
Silver branding is a bit obnoxious (I haven't attempted to remove it as I'm afraid to snag the fabric in doing so)
No microfiber lining on the inside of the case against the glass
This is the listing I purchased from. The seller has a bad review history but it's because of his lack of review history and 1 bad review. When I left my positive review, it bumped him from 50% to 66.7%. That one bad review is b/c the seller misclassified a listing as shipping from the US and not China. Had no problems here since I expected it to ship slow as dirt. I explain all of this mostly because I was unable to find any other sellers for this design & this one looks sketchy as hell. I had no issues on my purchase, so there's at least 1 legit happy customer with him & he's not padding his #s with fake buyers!

Lol, I am that bad review. I specifically was looking for an American shipper so I didn't have to wait for a month to get it. I could have ordered 3 cases for the price of one from Aliexpress and waited the same amount of time. Essentially the dude is just drop shipping from china with a markup.
I love the Mofi cloth cases. They look and feel great. I have ordered one in every color available from aliexpress for other phones for like 5$ each.

Hah! That's pretty funny!
I agree, he's doing that. However, I couldn't find this specific design anywhere else other than this one guy's listing on Ebay. Seems to no longer be available there although I haven't since searched very long & hard. I specifically wanted this design, even if I had to pay a $7 premium for it.
Also, for the record, mine was clearly shipped from China and I knew this going into the purchase. So I think he might have had an honest mistake with the listing you purchased, although that's pure speculation. No trickery with me.
I owed one of this. Even though the case is stylist but it collect dust overtime on the side. I switch back to stock case and ordered bumper case from On plus

Which bumper case did you get? I have the Nylon case and I like this one SOO much more! The Nylon case is just too slippery for a fairly bulky case.
Can you share real pictures?

Here are some stock photos of the style I purchased:

I got Nylon Karbon bumper case. Should arrive soon. Shipping take longer since I don't order from OnePlus store.

Mofi do quality stuff. Have probably had 30+ cases from them during the past 2-3 years. Highly recommended.
