anyway to boot up faster with rooted? - Sony Tablet S

i now have my tablet rooted finally, with root, is there any way to make the boot up time faster? like safely disabling some unnecessary auto start up app...

Yes, of course ... there are different ways ... disable autostart of unneeded apps with a tool like autostart manager from the market,
try to disable the boot animation (in build.prop)
and I know there was a way to disable media scanning after boot too.

I have init.d scripts for that on the sgs4g... But I can write them for this tab if i could just get rooted...
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App

Could you publish your script here?
I could try your script on my rooted tab and send a feedback after testing.
What do your script exactly?

Uninstall un needed stock apps from system/app directory

thanks, it seems like the more app i installed the longer it takes to boot up. i'll try your suggestion.

On this behavior you will only save memory ...
but don't speed up boot time ..
only autostarted apps are responsible for this ...
not 'any' system or market app.
Try autostart manager from market.

[Q] Autorun manager (free is better)

Hi everyone,
I'm getting crazy trying to find an autorun manager app able to kill process on startup and also to stop them when they try to restart.
Of course I would like it free if possible.
I've already tried : Android assistant, Startup manager, Startup cleaner. Those apps don't work or have problem.
Thank you.
I see two ways there: If is a user app try to unnistalled or delete it, otherwise use a freeze utility from the market. It's way better than killing every time period.
Hi Bastospn, thanks for your answer. What is a freeze utility ? Is it an app that prevents process to autorun or restart ? Do you have a name to give me ?
Thanks.
the app Autorun Manager does exactly this (and more) strange you haven't found that

If you are on android 2.2 + system you will not be able to do this with any app unless you are rooted. We need the permission to change the system setting(that's the superuser permission) in order to remove an app completely from startup.
Hi.
I just installed Autorun Manager. It does not seem to do anything. Everything I disable runs at startup.
I am rooted with One Click with 3.1 CWM. And I am running Syndicate Frozen 1.2 EC05

[Q] App to remove a list of apps?

In almost every ROM are apps which are not really needed to run the phone.
I use Cyanogenmod and every Nightly comes with the same "safe to remove apps"... I'd like to stay uptodate with every nightly BUT i always get these not needed apps.
So I start removing them 1by1 with TitaniumBackup which takes time and sometimes I forget one or another app.
Is there a app which can remove apps that I can define in a list? How are you handle those barebones?
(I guess a good alternetive would be ADB or a terminal script)
temesek has a script that you can flash, after flashing a CM7 ROM, to do this. You can adapt it to add the Apps that you usually remove. The script can be found in his mediafire folder. See here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18523875&postcount=20861
It's called System App Remover iirc
Edit: Personally i just use Root Explorer, and with W/R and Multi-Select enabled, i just run down the list in /System/App and delete all the ones i don't need.

[Q] Remove soft from official ics rom

Can I remove some soft from official rom completely by deleting apk in system folder?
I would like to free some ram
Can I install apk named UpdateMeSmartphone like is in source of icehybrid rom?
UpdateMe is useless on stock ROM, as it doesn't give you any updates.
UpdateMe is for custom ROM developers, so that ROM users can easily update directly from phone.
You can remove some system APKs, but be careful with what you remove. Removing needed files can result in some functions not working or even bootloop. Make backups
You can also use the free version of sd maid, it can uninstall stock apps along with its data

Before removing a sys app, freeze it. That way you can restore it if you get some error or problem.
Apps like Titanium Backup, system tuner etc. are able to remove/freeze system apps.
OR you may want to try this out using the flashtool
Requirements:
1. Rooted phone with sufficient battery.
2. Tick check to the following options on your phone settings: USB cable at debugging mode, stay awake, Unknown services (Under the application menu and the development sub-menu directly inside the application menu settings).
In the flashtool UI choose clean apk (garbage icon) pick this to pull out those apps suspected as bloatware on your ROM. Check the forum for safe to list apps to pull during your clean up.
Once you have the list refer to the second pic, it is the list of all the apps installed on your phone. Be sure to create a profile name which serves as your reference when you re-install (just incase) The rest is self explanatory bro.

How do you add a startup app in RemixOS?

I created an application and ı wanted to set as a startup app. I tried different application manager programs but they didn't work. Generally, these programs work at first time but at second time, they dont't. All configuration is resetted at second time. How can I set the app as a startup app in RemixOS?

You can't remove any of the the system apps using a app. No matter how many times you try. It will restore again. I tried it and finally decided just to disable those things which i don't want.
I successfully removed the SYSTEM UPDATE app of EUI. I tell the method. But i don't know it will work for all. If you removed something you don't know, it will flood error messages. Take a backup before doing it and I'm not responsible if you got phone bricked or flooded with error messages Just install root uninstaller.

It will show the importance of any system app. Except these updater, file manager and the apps you know which can be replaced, don't do anything to the apps marked as key module.
You need a root browser for this. I use solid Explorer.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer2
Give root permission and go to ROOT -> SYSTEM - >APPS
all the system apps are here. Just find the one you don't want and delete it or keep it somewere else if you want it again. Reboot the phone. Some apps have services installed as separate app. Most of the google apps will have that. You have to remove both. Or else the service module will show tones of error messages. Be careful in doing this.
