[Boot Animation] ICS Boot Animation 800x1280 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I came across this Ice Cream Sandwich boot animation adjusted for the Note, and thought I would share it with you guys.
Thanks to febycv for the original animation as found on the Galaxy Nexus.
Thanks to aussiebum for adjusting it to fit the resolution of the Galaxy Note.
Original Thread
**You MUST have root access, as found HERE**
Download Here!
Installation Instuctions:
1. Download sanim.zip to a directory on your sd card
2. Using root explorer or another root file explorer, place the sanim.zip file in /system/media/
3. Reboot, and enjoy this delicious boot animation!
I take no credit for creating or modifying this boot animation.

Hmmm, doesn't seem to work for me.

If you rooted using Da_G's Pre Rooted kernal, then make sure it looks exactly as it does in this picture. And try setting permissions to rw-r-r. If you rooted using a different method, maybe try naming it "bootanimation.zip". Hope you get it working.

I rooted using Mashi's method, although my screen looks exactly like yours so I don't think that's the problem. I've tried both versions of naming the file with the correct permissions set but to no avail....weird.

I put it in the folder and set permissions and everything seemed fine it booted the ICS animation but then I got a massive barrage of force closes. Rebooted again and got stuck at the samsung logo. Had to do a recovery in CWM.

Hmmm. I haven't experienced any of these issues. I wonder why its not working for you guys.

I got the same thing when I tried it yesterday. My phone was running DAGr8s saurom. Had to restore as well. Haven't retried it since.
Sent from my SGH-I717R using Tapatalk

For those who can't get it to work, what ROMs are you running?

Stock using Mashi's rooting method. Set permissions and didn't seem to do anything using either file name.

I believe that the problem is because you didn't use Da_G's Pre rooted kernel. If I remember correctly, custom boot animations need be be enabled at the kernel level, which is what Da_G has done with his rooting method.

Can u please make a flashable zip file i have yet to learn how to phsh files. Im refering to the transparent notification bar
I tried to get the transparent notification bar by pushing it to the framework.res with root explorer, after rebooting I got stuck in a boot loop on the bootanimation screen and had to eventually just reflash the rom. Am I missing something here? Looks cool, and the 2.2.5.6 is great. Thanks!

Into the framework.res?
You push it into system/framework
I took the picture 5 minutes before the post up there, and was on 2.2.5.6
It works..
Sorry, I was probably using the wrong terminology. I pushed it into system/framework and it asked if I wanted to replace the current file named framework.res, and I said yes and then rebooted. I am sure it does work, but I am just curious as to what I did wrong to end up in a boot loop. Thanks for any help or advice

Have you tried to push it via recovery & droid explorer?
No, I haven't tried that yet. I have pretty much only pushed things with root explorer and flashed flashable zips through recovery. I will do a search to see how to do that. Is Droid Explorer an app like root explorer? Thanks

Yeah, it is an app like root explorer, except you use it from your computer
ok, if you don't mind, how can I push it through recovery? Does it require using ADB? I haven't mastered that yet, but I'm sure I could learn, but if its easier than that it would be best, haha.
For some reason, its only transparent whenever I pull down down the notification bar. Its dark grey for me.

Just place this file in data/local, system/media, or system/customize/resource
If your bootanimation has a name with it rename it to match but most bootanimation are bootanimation.zip
I'll post what my screen looks like so u can get a idea:

Works nice...
Works nice on my phone in the System/Media folder with Entropy's Latest Daily Kernel. Thanks for this little additional Gem CharlieB!
Do I need to change the permissions to match yours also
Which folder and what to
rename it?
Seems that the three aforementioned folders don't apply to Cog Beta 4. I looked in all three, but there was no file named bootanimation.zip. I did a search for 'bootanimation' and the only file that showed up was a file named 'bootanimation' in system/bin, with no zip suffix.
There was a file in system/media called ODEAnim.zip (it was the only zip file in there), and I tried replacing that with the one I downloaded, but it didn't work.
Anyone know where I should put this thing?

no idea what do do exactly, but I can confirm for you that I've had the exact same problem...
I'm guessing it has to do with designgears taking out the traditional bootanimation?

If you're using Entrophy's latest kernel and/or Cognition, throw it in /system/media/ and make sure it's STILL named "bootanimation.zip" . Change the permissions if you want, but it's really not necessary. If you're running rooted stock, then it will not work as you need boot animation support at the kernel level to use them. Flash Entrophy's kernel or Cog.
So this boot animation is not possible without root then? I would love to root but i have yet to find any information that explains rooting in terms i can understand, right now its still just a bunch of random abbreviations to me.

Cm7 boot animation sounds.

Stumbled upon this the other day, I think it was from the HTC desire section but cannot remember now, all credit goes to whoever made this all I did was try it out and it worked for me on cm7 nightly 256.
Inside this zip is 2 files, bootsnd.sh which needs placing on the root of your SD card and a flashable zip.
After extracting both files onto your SD card and moving bootsnd.sh to the root of your card reboot into recovery and flash the soundatboot.zip, then restart the phone open up terminal and type the following.
su
cd /sdcard
sh bootsnd.sh
Reboot and a sound should play as your boot animation begins.
Download: http://db.tt/7caElsmo
Now here's the fun part, the file it creates a link to is located in /system/media and is an mp3 file which means you can change it to whatever you like just by replacing the file with root explorer, just remember to rename it the same and set the permissions correctly rwrr.

cant root my samsung galaxy showcase sch-i500

Hello i am new to this website and i was wanting to know how to root my samsung galaxy showcase sch-i500 from c-spire wireless.I had my phone rooted before i upgraded to gingerbread the other day.I have found some directions on the website but i guess i am not doing them right.I downloaded the gingerbreak from chasefire and i scaned it with my phone but it is showing as wall papper on my applications any help would be appreciated and sorry for asking this question if it has already been asked thanks
Try this app
This is the easiest one I'd used to root my Fascinate I500, But remember to manually restart your phone by removing your battery and putting it back in. For some reason it's not doing that at the end of the process. Good luck.

Rooting i500
Did you ever get root enabled, I imagine you tried superoneclick and it failed. If you didn't get root I can help. It requires cwm and a root-package zip that you flash with cwm.
Problems rooting
I think it may have worked for the original poster but i am having BIG problems rooting my phone from cspire. The one click does not work and i have tried three other ways to do it. I am able to get recovery console access but past that nothing has happened. I followed the instructions at galay forums.net (wont let me post link but when i got to the part where i install the "su-x.x.x.x.zip" file i get the message "installed successfully. enjoy!" but when i reboot to try to go to the next step it always reboots into the recovery. Please help!

Yes I used the recovery flash (red clockwork mod) to flash the zip you uploaded for me. It says that it installs and that there are no problems but when I back out and reboot it will just boot back into clockwork rather than into the android os. The closest I've had it to booting right was using the su.x.x.x.x.zip file but when that was used my phone just boot looped (samsung logo boot up bid sanding logo for about two minutes reboot rinse and repeat)

[GUIDE] Perfect Adobe Flash for our Nexus 10

Hi guys,
I rooted my device today and installed some things like AdFree and ES File Explorer (with root file explorer option).
Then I wanted to test how good our Nexus 10 works with Adobe Flash.
Here is your path to get full flash support with your Nexus 10:
You have to unlock your bootloader and root your device afterwards like described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987594 and here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1996900 or install a prerooted ROM from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1997699 (keep in mind, that the newest version of CWM Recovery is 6.0.1.6)
You have to download the AOSP browser for Nexus 7 JB from here and follow the renaming steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780746&highlight=browser+apk
You have to install the Flash Player given in this post, or similar sources.
Enjoy your beautifully fast and sharp flash experience on your Nexus 10
I am not responsible for any bricked devices if you fail at some stage! My Nexus 10 runs perfect with flash now

It even plays Youtube Videos in 1080p. No 4K resolution supported sadly...
So Tube8 will work? Great! :fingers-crossed:
Yes it works perfect, I didn`t know that website..., but yes it works.

On my nexus 10 I have tried to put the apk into the system app folder using root explorer but it is not working. I renamed all the files that were already in the apps folder and when I reboot the browser.apk I put in there dissapears and is nowhere to be found. Its like the system app folder resets on reboot. Also, I found that root explorer would also sometimes not mouth the folder as r/w after pasting it in there. I have restored and flashed to stock, re rooted and tryed again with no success. Am I missing something?
Did you set the permissions of browser.apk to rw- r-- r--? I can't reconstruct your problem here. I restarted several times after the modification and the aosp browser is still there and runs perfect.

I have Flash working on Dolphin and Skyfire by just installing the Flash Player but I would also like Flash working on Opera Mobile if anyone has found a way of doing that on the N10.
Yes, it seems that on reboot everything in the system app folder is restored to how it was before. I have restore stock image and rerooted again and only installed root explorer and still. It is the same. Any one any ideas?
For other noobs like me, you'll need to search XDA for the FLASH.APK to install as well...it's not on the PLAY store any longer.
You can also try this method after you've rooted...
FLASHEX 2.05: (Root Required)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569816
I've used this method on every tablet I've owned (Prime, Infinity, Note10.1, Galaxy tab10.1) and will be applying this method on my N10 so I can watch my Hulu through the browser.
This method works on all browsers from my experience with it. You will need to be rooted though.
