[Q] Xperia S Black or White? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hello all,
Really excited about the Xperia S, even though I'm still on the Arc S.
Just putting together a poll to see which one everyone thinks is better looking/planning on getting.
Not sure why this time, but I'm seriously considering the white Xperia S. Looks amazing. Never had a white phone before though but I'm really liking the anti stain coating.

I'm going for the white colour one cause it looks awesome with the black display and then the transparent element then there's the white stripe at the bottom with the xperia logo and the white colour stripe. that looks so awesome, you should go for the white colour.

Black just perfect
Sent from my new discovered phone huh... via Tapatalk

I've had a White HTC Hero for almost 2 years, so i'm going for a black phone now

seriously black just looks awesome on this phone

black for sure, as white looks girlish

I've always had black phones. My girlfriend have a Nexus S white and it's look very nice. Maybe this time i will try an Xperia s white.

All colors are good, as long as they are black

I think the white more attractive, but bother colors are good looking ))
P.S. XPS is already available for sale? Where?

I originally was after the white one as it looks better than the black imo, looks really nice. However after going to phones 4 u today and seeing both models9dummy models0 i notice that the white one actually attracts dirt alot not from me but from other people that were already looking at the dummy model and after seeing the videos about how the cover is dirt resistant i tried to rub it off only made matters worse actually the colur started turning to cream and on the edges of the phone i could clearly see that it looked worn out, so the white one is out of the question for me which is a shame as i was looking forward to getting that one. Black it will be though

At first i wanted the white one, but after i gave it some thoughts i preferred the black one as the contrast with the transparent bar is way better!

It's black for me.
just prefer it and love the way it looks.
That's the colour ive pre-ordered.

Looks-wise i definitely prefer the white one. But I fear that the white body will look worn out soon and lose all it's sexiness.

I was thinking about the white one, as I never had a white phone before, and my partner and I both ordered a Xperia S and didn't want to mix up the phones all the time :/.
But I went for black, because well...the black is rather nice, and it won't get noticeably dirty that easily. We just need to make sure to have seperate backgrounds or a hard case on one of the phones xD

For this phone in particular I found the black much nicer.

I have since I clapped eyes on this phone always been attracted to the white version. I have had many black phones over the years, so a white handset will be a welcome change.

After seeing the white dummy model in phones 4 u, it put me right off!
just seeing the dirt on it and whe you rub it the colour was changing.

I first thought I would get the white version, but after seeing some videos, the black version does look nice, in a 2001-monolith kind of way, and the transparent bar really shines in all this blackness.
Also it would color-match my old SE K800i

I just want a different White, more fashionable.

Oh,80% of my friends chose the white version . white looks sharp and shiny. but black outstanding more the transparent bar design.

[Q] Xperia mini pro what color, black or white?

I want to buy one of this phones, but i really dont know what color i have to chose.
For me, both colors are great but what do u think, should i buy it in black or white??
Sorry for my bad english
BLACK!
( Since I'm less than eight posts I cannot post link but can PM it if you want )
In the forum Swedroid a poster who bought the white one found that the keyboard has horrible contrast, such that the buttons were often unreadable unless the phone is angled. Because of this he also regrets that he bought the white instead not the black version of the Xperia Mini Pro.
Another member replies that he upgraded from an X10 (which has a silver keyboard) to a black Xperia Mini Pro that there is a large improvement in contrast and readability on the buttons.
So if you want to be able to read the keyboard a black one should be the better choice. If you want a fancy color on the back you can swap, I myself have bought a black one but I'm waiting to get myself a pink cover
btw your english is fine =)
+1 READ MY LIPS BLACKKKKKK AND MIX THE BACK
I had the black then white iPhone and i thought to myself later black looks better than white over longer period.
so this time i bought black and don't regret it at all. also i want to have a white back when it becomes cheap enough. that turquoise isn't really bad, i would love royal blue aftermarket one tho.
not that white doesn't look good but i like to keep it old school
Yeah at night can see the blue symbol buttons but not the primary ones on white - useless. Get to memorise them pretty quick but boggles the mind how they could design an invisible keypad.

Go for black. I just bought the black one.
I really don't like seeing fingerprints, so I pick white no contest. I don't fingerprint a lot my hands always clean but being a human can't help it. So good luck with wiping the black units.
Thanks people, i will buy the black color .
Nobody mentioned one of the main difference??
The white (and all other colors) are slippery bright, the black is totally different material, a little bit like rubber providing a very good grip!
Really, thats so nice
Damn would have ordered black if I'd known would have a back like my old x10 mini pro.

Mines in white, to my eyes it looks much nicer than the black version. Anyway I wanted a change from always having black phones.

White. Change a pace from black phone.

Definitly black. I have the black One and i love it. Its just awesome!
Send from my Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro.. (that is indeed the new One..)
White.
Always been a fan of white phones. Although I wish we had the Blue Gradient from the Neo...
Black. I was mistakenly sent the white one and I had a few hours to play with it before I sent it back. It's a beautiful phone, but the backlighting on the keys is horrible... In dim light, the keys are practically unreadable. I got the black one yesterday, and I'm much happier with it.

But u have electrostatic problem?
First time to have a white phone. It looks nice. Very elegant. People compliment me on it and can't believe that it's a cheap phone.
go for black color~ +1 black~looks elegant
I just loved the white one at first sight
Black.
Sucks that the white one has a invisible keyboard, I'd have thought they'd notice that.

My new, new white Note

I just exchanged my old note for a new one (would randomly power off when the phone was in my pocket or being moved around).
When I exchanged, I grabbed a white model instead of the black, as I remember reading somewhere that the white models were benchmarking higher for some reason. In my case this was totally true. The old phone benchmarked at 2650, the new one is now at 3200 on unrooted stock ROM (with the same config - apps, widgets, etc.).
Another random observation: the white s-pen is significantly lighter than the black one. I preferred the weight of the black pen. It's a minor issue, just strange that they would be so different.
I went through 2 black and end up with the white one at the end because of the back pixeled on the first one and the second had a pixel stay lid when the phone in sleep

Like a single pixel? Harsh. But kinda funny. I must have been lucky. Im on my first note and see no need to exchange.
Kony 2012 is Propaganda.

Wow, I feel lucky too. First Note, really fast, no issues except some black crushing here and there.
I thought about exchanging my carbon blue for a white, just for aesthetics (the white one really is dead sexy). but going to the store and playing with one, i didn't like the light bleed and brightness of the buttons. also, i like the grippy back on the carbon blue one. plus i think it will show less wear and dirt over time.
but mostly after reading all these exchange posts, if i have a good one, i don't want to exchange for a bummer that i would have to take up on a warranty exchange. i only have one day left in my 30 day window!

I got the white one to replace my original black - I too think the white one is dead sexy. The back is definitely a better texture on the black one, but since those are all interchangeable parts, no big deal.
That said, given that some phones are working better than others, I agree - if you're happy with the performance of your current phone, you may not want to take a gamble on returning it for another.
I really thought it was an iffy choice when I bought the white one with a white flip cover, as I thought I might not like the white face of the device, seeing as I loved how the screen blends into the black face of my Infuse and Captivate. Two weeks later, I'm really impressed and I have adjusted to the white. The capacitive buttons were bugging me with how they bleed into the face of the phone, but I never liked them lit up anyways, so I just have them always off...I know where all four buttons are, so why do I need them lit up? Haha. I have gotten so many comments on how nice this phone looks it's getting annoying almost. I love promoting the Note, but let me use it in peace! Haha.

Great!!!!!
White is cool too, but I'd prefer black. Any way, Samsung note is a very excellent purchasing.
Lol I ended up exchanging my white model for a black. The white was nice and flashy but I prefer stealth while the white is sexy powerd on I find the black more sleek when turned off, if that makes sense lol.

The white looks awesome with the brown flip cover. I've got that and a frosted black Boxwave. I want an aluminum blue bumper w/ back shield now. I think that looks sweet with the white.

Its comming in Black .. ???

Good find, lets hope its true
Will not be amused if this is available a week after I get the blue one.
come on guys, this is just a site that does 3d animations for phones. Did you really think that samsung would not have announced a black version?

Neither will I However I think the listing could well be a mistake colour-wise. When I was looking at pre-orders, there were a couple of places that had white or black listed as colour options, but later corrected to white or blue. I think the blue should be dark enough in real life to pass as nearly black anyway.

Looks like the blue version to me.
Looks blue to me too
looks like blues clues to me i dont know about black..you know that fruit company might sue again
Also they don't even list the blue, which is a bit strange.
I'm calling BS
According to Eldar Murtazin, later it will be available in black too.

Probably the crappy US Carrier versions.
Eldar Murtazin told me on twitter that the black version will be available for Christmas. Well, i want it so much, but i'm not going to wait :|
I have always had a black phone so ive decided this time it's gonan be different,i want the marble white SGS3 but the blue one looks really nice as well i just cant make up my mind.
Seems immeasurably stupid not to include a black version at launch. It harks back to the days of kids running around with bright red Nokia Xpress-on covers and potentially alienates a large portion of the market who want a sleek, back, professional looking phone - not a teenager's fashion accessory.
The inclusion of things like S-Voice are the kinds of things that look great in a shop but you end up never using in practice. For the same reason it boggles the mind why Samsung didn't give the option of a black version; part of the reason AMOLED screens look so impressive is the near seamless transition between black on-screen and a black bezel, made possible by AMOLED's superior contrast.
I had a very reaction when i saw the white and blue versions at the presentation. I hate white phones and thought the blue looked horribly cheap. Ive now seen a blue one in the flesh and its nothing like as bad as i feared. Its actually quite smart looking.
Many of the images of it make it look a lot lighter than it actually is. The front looks black in most lights an the pattern on the back is almost like metal.
I would still prefer a black phone though.
its the blue one!

[Q] Are there any downsides of a white phone?

Im buying a L920. I've always been set on the red model, but having watched several video reviews im now in doubt.
- Smudgeprints are extremely noticeable on red
- It has a really big "wow effect", its very noticeable with such a massive, bright red glossy back
- Its not gonna match live tiles if I change the colors
Because of this, im leaning towards White, but I have some questions about it.
- Does it get dirty easier? (ie. dirt gather in scratches)
- I read white phones tend to turn yellow if exposed to certain things such as cigarette smoke. Is this true?
- Is there overall something I should be aware of when getting a white phone?
Thanks in advance.

I had the White for a week then swapped out to a Red one. I didn't notice anything unusual like smudge prints etc, that stood out on the white. But, I'm an office worker so I'm not generally exposed to much dirt or grime.
Of the 2 colors, I'm not sure which I really prefer. The Red stands out, but so does the White. There are certain theme colors that do not go well with either color...so it boils down to your personal preference.
Though liking both the White and Red, I have not regretted switching to the Red

Im gonna be using full body protection on the phone, including on metal+lens on the back from the Martin Fields protector. Im not exposed to dirt either (being home going till march...), but its still something I'd like to know, as I've never had a white phone.
Imo red stands out more than white. White is a fairly common color among phones (one reason I dont prefer the color), however the bright red is not. Im just imagening holding it to my ear and all ppl see is the bright back, heh. White just seems so...smooth, despite being common.
Bump for more interest.
Well I can't say anything about White vs. Red but I had a Cyan for two weeks and then I got RED .... I personally liking RED a lot more.

I would get the Red colour. My mum got a White 920 and I really don't like it. I also seen the Yellow version which I thought I would hate, but it actually looked pretty cool in person.
I have a black one which I would say is the best color to choose, either that or the matte grey model.
Between red and white, go red IMO.
I got the yellow one, and I love it - though most people don't (who cares - I love it).
Before that, I had the white Galaxy S2. Looks pretty fine after about a year of usage, besides the scratches it got from the one and only time I dropped it.
I wouldn't hesitate to go for white in means of dirt stains or so. As long as you're not a smoker it should keep it's color for some time.
I am coming from a white HTC One X and I decided to go with a red 920.
When the Lumia 900 came out, I fell in love with the white one. When the HTC One X came out, to me it was like a slightly more rounded "Android" version of the Lumia so I had to have the white one. I really like the color and the contrast of white and black. The only issue I had with the color I had was due to the invisishield protection I had on it. My jeans would stain the shield blue-ish so the phone was never a true white. I read that a naked One X will do the same thing, but that you can clean it off with alcohol. However, if you have a naked Lumia, I doubt that will happen because of the glossy finish.
The reason why I ended up with a red 920 is not because of that, however. I went to the store to check all the colors out and red really stood out to me more so than the other options.
So if you really like the red, get the red but if you really like the white, get the white. But be aware that invisishield-type protection on that phone might be really noticeable once it gets dirty because of the white. I believe the naked phone will actually look cleaner.
I have a white and a black. White stays white - no smudging. However, I will say that the colored ones have more 'grip' that the black - which is very slick.
To my first test drive with a red one then ended up getting a white one for the wife & I. Just came down to personal preference, the one thing I new was I didn't want another black phone

[Q] NEXUS 9 White or Black? Witch one choose?

Please Witch One choose? White or Black?
Some said White is better quality than the black?
Help?
I have the black one and I love it!
It actually isn't completely black, it's more a very dark blue - grey.
I wouldn't take the white one because it could get dirty and ugly.
Love my white one, couldn't be happier with it!
I wanted the black one and love it!
Once you go black you never go back. I still got white though.

So does this mean you've never gone black? or do you really like to contradict yourself?
I got white just because it looks better and I already have a black Nexus 5.
I was being silly is all. Have both, keeping white, less fingerprints.
From all the hands on videos and reviews ive seen, it seems that those that have handled both white and black always prefer the white.
A bit surprising since many people preferred the black Nexus 5 over the white one because of the nicer feeling texture. Once I get my white one tomorrow, I'll be comparing it against my black Nexus 5.
Very happy with my white N9! It feels great, is NOT a fingerprint magnet.
The black one does attrack fingerprints.
The white one is a little bit off-white and looks very nice.
Want white or sand, but only black is available in hk play store...
Just got my hands on the white one. It feels very nice. Better than the White Nexus 5.
It's got a very smooth-matte finish. Sort of like a smooth chicken egg, but finer textured. Just don't expect the rubbery-soft touch of the black one.
I would choose a white one, but the problem is the white color is easy to get dirty.
It's more gray than white if anything. I kind of like that.
