OnLive Desktop - Thinks the touchpad is 7" anyone know of a fix? - TouchPad Themes and Apps

I've downloaded and installed this but it doesn't fit the screen fully, anyone know of a fix please?
Thanks

There is a compatibility mode that will stretch apps, is that option available? Otherwise you could play around with the screen density assuming you are on CM9. 160dpi is what CM9 defaults to but 132 is what the screen actually is.

That's the answer I was hoping for, I thought it may be something to do with that., but didn't know the default and the actual screen size so I'll give it a go
And it doesn't show the stretch option as it is a tablet only app I think

I have changed the dpi to 132 but this hasn't made any difference to the app
Since this is an apk that was posted on an AndroidPolice article do you think this could be the problem?

Also just to add that the app is actually capable of fullscreen as it does it at sign in, but once signed in it goes smaller

Is it possible to force a screen resolution change from within Windows. It may be defaulting to a 16:9 resolution, if you could force 1024x768 maybe it will fill the screen.

Has anyone found a solution? It makes this app less usable when 1/3 of the screen is wasted.
edit: using the app from the market, same problem. Must be either touchpad or cm9 related.

Update:
After emailing and telling them of the problem I was experiencing this was the reply I got ...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk

So basically it only supports 16:9 tablets, not too smart if thats how it was developed. There are official 4:3 Android tablets out there like the Pantech Element. Funny thing is the iPad app seems to be supporting 4:3 just fine.

Same issue on Le Pan II
I also contacted Onlive support about the same issue on my Le Pan II (also 1024x768). They said they would send along the problem to their engineers and consider supporting 4:3 android tablets. Hopefully soon.

How did you get it installed on your TP? When I try from Google Play it tells me it is not supported in my country. Changed it to US (T-Mobile) in using MarketEnabler and still no joy. Also got Samsung SGH-T989 in build.prop - not sure if that is the problem.
Edit - seems to be working now.

Is it 16:9 or 4:3? I also have this problem, running a 100% stock CM9 nightly (from 5/7/12 currently), no altered build.prop or enablers.

How to use /set /have /put Onlive Desktop on ANY SMARTPHONE OR TABLET!!!
Simple trick to bypass 7 inch protection and use this cool app on any device...
If you dont have app download latest version with black market alpha
http://www.mediafire.com/?hgdljhid6kvomke
Just download from google play lcd resolution - ///must have root and busybox///
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wemobs.android.lcdresolution&hl=sr
Set density around 100 – 160 and Onlive Desktop will probably work... - Tryed on Galaxy Note and density 160... (lowest possible...) and it worked
Only bad thing it wont probably be full screen, so fell free to try different resolutions, and maybe you set full screen
Hope i helped! If you have any question or better idea fill free to say

Gingerbread Keyboard For Rooted Devices

For all who might be interested to try... Following the instructions in this article will help you to install Gingerbread keyboard:
http://www.droid-life.com/2010/12/06/download-gingerbread-keyboard-for-rooted-devices/
Cheers
Confirm, it's working. It is better though to have the language set for English...if one would choose another language, it may have some missing characters. For example, I had also Romanian selected. When I switch to it, the first row displays only some of the numbers (the ones that are typed when you long press on the key). 1,2,4, 5 and 9 are shown (if I remember exactly) the rest of them being inaccessible. If you switch to English, everything looks just fine.
Keyboard seems (and looks) better than the standard Froyo keyboard (and this is how it's advertised too), has some new functionality, but I still prefer Better Keyboard. For those using English layout and don't have Better Keyboard installed, this Gingerbread ported keyboard will be a better option than the standard one (and best thing...it's free)
it works but that's about it.
The dictionary doesn't know some of the basic words even though it supports dutch. :s
And I don't think its made for hdpi, it looks pretty small.

I'm using a HTC mt4g (rooted and s-off), installed this and have only English selected, yet as soon as I touch a key it FC for 'android.process.inputmethod.latin
Also, my phone has the same resolution as the legend (480x800) and the keyboard seems to be sized correctly.
Anyone else with this FC issue?
The Legend is 480*320, not 800*480.
When I tried, the installation failed because it couldn't verify the zip file.
Ah gotcha. I'm just using the xda app and thought the legend was the incredible..
It seems like a lot of people are having issues with this keyboard currently

I got it to work by downloading the keyboard zip made by fabulous. Google it. If you have a problem with the keys being to small, you need to download the LCD Density app, set it to 240 and restart, then set it back to the default of 160 and restart.
They keyboard should be fine after that. I've been using it for a while and prefer it to Swype, HTC, and Android 2.2.
One last note. Restarting the phone may cause the keyboard to revert to a small state so be prepared to do the LCD fix again.

[Q] Atrix port/motogingerfunk...screen resolution issues??

Has anyone else had some apps use only 3/4 of the screen on these Custom ROMs? Can understand the Atrix port...since the X2 has a diff native res, but mastafunk's ROM is built from the X2 update. Not that's it's a big deal, but my Jedi lightsaber loses some affect when there's an inch long black section on the bottom.
This is new to me....
Actually yes, SyncmyPix is a little box now.

If you mean 2.3.4 then yes. I also just reinstalled with the same result. It's no biggie to me at all. CacheMate is the only app I've seen like this. The use of the app is so minimal that I don't really notice. Just thought I'd share a screen.

Has anybody check what the LCD Density is set to in their build.prop file??? I set mine to a lower value usually 200 instead of the default 240 and I have the same problem described here; as well as some apps in the market reporting that they are not compatible with my device. When that happens tho i just edit my build.prop back to default and then edit again back to my settings and all is well...

That had "nothing" to do with it... The phone will convert the resolution to match your screen.
By v4 I meant atrix v4.. And the "protected" apps in the market will not show up due to the build.prop.. I've tried several workarounds with no success.
The issue has to lie in the app if I were to guess, I've never had this issue b4. Perhaps that app isnt compatible with x2?
Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk
Well I'm on Eclipse 1.2 and Syncmypix is still a small box like that earlier pic.
Here is the cause and solution to the problem. It is a screen res check in the market...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1229267&page=6
Read my post describing my problem and the solution offered in post #58 after my reply...
That will get my question settled but apps not displaying on the whole screen is part of the specific app coding. I have this same problem with google scoreboard... Its pretty much defunct but I still use it and have been carrying it around for a while now... It only uses about 2/3 of the screen! And that I really do not know how to fix... I think that you would have to send the app dev feedback to try and get that solved....

Lousy Facebook

On my Galaxy Nexus, both the Facebook app and m.facebook.com present the full "Timeline" view with cover photo and links to About, Photos, Friends, Likes.
On my Springboard (running ICS and "high resolution" mode), I get a pared-down view with only cover photo, buttons for friending and messaging, write post and share photo. I am not able to browse any other aspects of one's profile unless I load the desktop page.
Any idea why Facebook has LESS features on a tablet than on a phone? Has anyone managed to force the full mobile Timeline view to work?
Don't know what would make the difference. They both come up the same on my phone and springboard. Have you tried Friendcaster though? Way better then thee actual Facebook app.
Okay screenshots. Here is the public profile of a local politician who I haven't friended, but her permissions allow lots to be shown on her profile so she makes a good example.

MediaPad ICS high resolution mode:
Note how the GNex version has About, Photos, Friends, Likes. The MediaPad version is missing the entire Timeline layout, and has only her About page - no links to see her wall, photos or likes. When I do the same for people who *are* my friends, I get the wall with no links to About, Photos or Friends.

There we go, that's more like it.
The thing is, our devices are the same dimensions as the Nexus 7. Chances are any app broken on ours will be broken on Nexus 7, no? Hopefully that gets the devs' asses in gear. Although if the fixes only work on JB, we're still out of luck.
Due to an unrelated matter I had to change my Facebook password. Upon signing back into Facebook, all the Timeline elements started showing up again. Strange, but happy that I finally have the full feature set again!
I have a problem with logging in to facebook with any app. It works from the browser, but friendcaster, the official facebook app, and any other application that gets news from facebook crashes when i want to login. I use cm10 rom, does anybody else have this problem?

Set Full 2560x1600 Wallpaper?? (No Cropping)

Is there a way to set full 2560x1600 wallpapers without cropping them? I found an app called Wallpaper Wizardrii in the appstore that does a great job and unlocks so many options just to simply add a wallpaper, but it only supports up to 1600 in HD Resolution. I emailed them to see if its going to be updated to support Nexus 10 Resolution. Check it out still a great app.

Woah! Be easy man. I spoke with the developer and he has sent me a beta with 2560 resolution working perfect. Absolutely no cropping needed. He'll update it pretty soon after I test it on my s2 to see if adding the resolution causes issues.
I've been using an app called wallpaper set and save. I have works really well. Fits the whole image perfectly with scrolling. Try it out
Don't forget, wallpaper is wider than 2560, there are 5 homescreens it has to fit across.

Well in the beta it has two options for stretching amongst all screens. Landscape Scale and Portrait Scale. With either option without cropping all screens have a part of the image. The quality it still there. No zoomed in look from cropping and if it strecthes to fill all screens I dont see any lost in resolution or missing parts of wallpaper.
send me the apk for the beta i will try it
I haven't tried it on my N10 yet but it works great on my N7 to set full sized wallpapers

So did anyone know the exactly resolution a wallpaper has to have to fit exactly on the 5 screens? Can't even find the original wallpapers to figure this out.
If we would knew this we could design our own wallpapers or could change others to fit on the n10

The exact size is 3966x2560.
I don't use the stock launcher, and usually set my wallpaper not to scroll in ADW EX and Apex.
So Wallpaper Wizardrii with the No Scroll and Stretch options on a 2560x1600 image is perfect for me.

No. Instead, everything gets smaller, when you decrease the LCD density. To make things larger, increase it.
Usually we use this trick to make better use of the screen. More content and less interface area.
Try increasing the font size, or play with the accessibility settings. Maybe this can help you.

Those things certainly help. I wish you could modify the invert option. Triple tap to zoom is good. Just need a little more than the standard large or extra large font.

You need reboot 2 times to verify if an app became incompatible. On 260 Botanicula, Bright weather and Angry Bird HD were blocked.
But if you don't use anything that is blocked, be happy! Like me, with the Nexus 5 on 261 (1 pixel before going into the world of phablets). ?
