Best rom for Gaming? - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hey I was wondering what would be the best Rom for gaming (Most Fps)
I am currently using Cyanogen Mod
Thanks

If you have the Optimus V, the Lewa port found in the android development section is very fast compared to IHO CM7...would probably run games better too I would imagine.

just curious as to why you say that?

you can try lewa port for P500,2D:456 3D:506

Perfect peso2.2 with original kernel, got on neocore 71.3!!! And on quadrant standard 1350!

For me. I'm using RazrUI right now, but I've heard splendid things about PerfectPeso 2.2. to flash Francos kernel is your choice. It's optimized my system well.

Can anyone tell me, does data2sd and similar mods improve performance in apps and games or it just boosts your quadrant score...?

The only thing special about those scores is that his kernel has vsync off and he has the egl tweak, all other values are what you expect from the current nightly with ta kernel

i vote for Gingercrust v.1.5 but rom is stop !!!

Perfect peso with new adreno libs is greath for gaming
Inviato dal mio LG-P500 usando Tapatalk

I think the best ROM for gaming is the CM7 because it is smooth and you can use the "Smooth Ass" option on SetCPU. I personally love the option because I can really feel the difference when playing games and scrolling on the home screen.

study lityrem
try N2-CM7 + ta-gb kernel 1.1. I think it's best for games and very good battery life

hi =)... im new on the forum and relative new on android but here is my opinion:
in my short life on android i learned that not all the roms works same way for all of us... u should try them all by urself... is not all about the games, another important point is battery life, also i think with any room u r gonna have good performance with that kind of emulators since all the roms have a good overclock
for me:
lol 1.4.2
cyanogen mod 7
nessy #hypnoss
with any of these is stable (at least for me) and u can play emulators, gameloft hd and any other games with good performance
I will recomand you the latest edition of cyanogen mod... It's stable, it have a android 2.3 core, etc.
I think you should install only one of gingerbreads roms

If you need performance and stability the devoid.franco is the real deal... Otherwise you could try mik's CM7 porting if you want to try gingerbread...
DO NOT flash 2.3.3 roms when you are a noob because THEY ARE ALL IN BETA VERSIONS and you will be disappointed with undesired bugs because of their officially announced bugs / incompatible kernels etc.
i recommend you to flash optimusXrom
you can find it at xda forum Optimus One, P500 Android Development

If anyone has this(or any other) ROM installed on their Optimus One can you please try Super Mario Kart on SuperGNES emulator and let me know if it works without much lag?
what would happen if i flash devoid.franco rom without a partitioned sd card?thanks
Well let me tell you NES and SNES emulators eat a lot of battery so choose one which gives you best battery life, the game play is same on all rom's for nes snes. I suggest Nessy-Irene its just released.

Lot of people seem to like devoid.franco, But it seems a bit too basic and complicated? It does not have some default android applications right? But will there be a significant increase in performance? Is this ROM ok for noobs?

devoid.franco rom is not basic. ROMs can be changed, so try it and then give your feedback. If not interested you can always switch over to another.
Default apps - you can take backup and flash the new rom and restore the default apps.
Increase in performance, as a noob, you cannot judge except with the linpack / setcpu / quadrant std.
start testing one by one and enjoy

most powerfull= all of them are equally powerfull (my personal preference mik's with franco's kernal i got 60.4 frames on neo core with sound @ freq.825 @ smartass and no lag on angry birds)
smoothest= noein's one. cause less apps more free space to play on. with franco v18 gives u 2 days of battery.
I get 60.6 at 787 mhz in rjtchn15's cm7 rom
All those custom GB roms are great. Just pick one that suits you best.
less apps more space make it smoothest, but we also will install apps,is not the same?

Rc4 released!(19/11)(screenshots)blackbird firestorm rc2

hello guys,
its my 2nd day with blackbird(optimus net rom ported by mattof93) now and it seems really promising!
quite impressed with its performace,responsiveness..
initally it was slow, but after flashing paulo v6 touchfix kernel it became really good!
only big bug im suffering from is that usb mass storage doesnt work
however we can go to recovery and toggle usb there and use it!
other than that really small bugs expected to be fixed like autofocus, not switching on nce battery drains to 0%(remove battery and replace) !
so here im sharing a few screenshots of the rom!
i tested neocore yesterday and score was somehwere around 60-64fps (without sound) !mind its a stock modified rom..
games like asphalt 5,dungeon hunter, nfs shift, hero of sparta etc work flawlessly and quite smoothly!
most imprtant it has darktremors a2sd working really well!
have a look at it and if u like just grab it from dev thread ..
guys please vote !!poll on top of the page

Sorry for being this irritating 'questionare' but could you test asphalt 5 for me?
what's next (RC3):
rom partially deodexed
custom framework
some changes to scripts in init.d and build.prop
new kernel
androidusero1p500 could you add a survey to decide which kernel will be used by default in the RC3?
these are the options:
rome kernel by zacks (better performance)
franco kernel (best compromise between performance and stability)
paolo's kernel (the only kernel which solve the scrolling "bug")

I use genetICS as a daily driver with chainfire 3d and caf kernel and gaming for me is pretty relaxed..than again I'm not really into gaming. I'll occasionally play a game so when I do, I have a good kernel with chainfire and a high OC setting of 768/480 noop performance

GB continues being the right option to play games.
At least on my side, GB uses less ram than ICS. I also think the kernels also make a difference. There's a lot of "gaming" kernels for GB (my choice would either be PP 1.7 or franco's) while you only have two kernels for ICS, both of which do not seem to be tailored for gaming.

Well, I couldn't really tell because I'm not a phone gamer (I play Switch, Angry Birds and other things to kill time), but it's not that bad. Switch is veeery smooth, Angry Birds doesn't lag at all, so... I would say it's bad for gaming. Maybe only for games that need a lot of RAM.
PD: In GB y had OC and used CF3D, and still some games were kind of slow compared to ICS. So, that's it: if we had some more RAM, maybe... who knows?

not receiving benchmark as promised

hello
yesterday i have installed Enigma v5 rom with nemesis kernel.
rom works fine.just draining battery little bit faster than stock.
before yesterday i was using stock firmware, and i checked my phones benchmark with AnTuTu.
and the result was 5548.
but yesterday i saw the nemesis kernel screenshot that was showing 77++ benchmark with enigma rom.
i flashed the kernel, then installed the rom.
then i checked my benchmark again but my benchmark was same.i was receiving same result.
how to increase the benchmark.my fps was 7-9 fps
Sorry for my bad english.and if i made any mistake then i m sorry.I Am New
Even if ur benchmarks crosses 10000 ... Would it really matter in real phone usage?? Or does better benchMarks indicates super fluid performance??

It's not a bug, it's jas new tests so it's a new score system, cannot compare it to older version only results from new version.
My highest score on the new version is 9681 but I had as low as 9100 also.
Benchmarks are not very accurate but they good to give you an idea if something is rerribly wrong.
I don't know about games (I don't play any) but I know the evolve with hardware and normally new games won't be playable with old hardware.

See, basically stock firmwares have proprietary drivers which may boost benchmark but then stock ICS and JB are laggy for games on 512 MB devices. Period.
CM and AOSP (not PAC or AOKP) in my opinion are much better for gaming. I play RR3 on CM9 and AOSP JB laglessly. While CM and AOSP ROMs generally score lower on benchmarks.
Hence, don't go on benchmarks and chill

CM and AOSP (not PAC or AOKP) in my opinion are much better for gaming. I play RR3 on CM9 and AOSP JB laglessly. While CM and AOSP ROMs generally score lower on benchmarks.
Hence, don't go on benchmarks and chill
