How to remove dock, change notification bar? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Hey guys, I just flashed MIUI to give it another shot and im loving it all over again.
There are a couple things I'd like to know:
1. Can I remove the dock? If so, how?
2. Where can I go to learn about how to install a new notification bar? I want to check the themes/tweaks/etc.
3. How do I install new icons? I downloaded icon packs but not exactly sure how to install them, im still reading up on Desktop visualizer but im still a bit confused
Thanks

Remove the dock by installing a new launcher of your choosing. I prefer GoLauncher with miui.
Go to settings, there should be themes in there. When you are in the themes you can browse or search by clicking online at the top. If you go to the bottom and click edit theme you can mix and match your themes. Like notification bar from one, lock screen from another, etc.
I have never heard of desktop Visualizer. Icons are a subset of the themes. You can mix and match them too. If you go to edit the theme, then select icons, and click online you can browse just the icons, vs the whole theme.
You can also find some themes in the general android theme forum, not the gs2, the bigger Android section.
Well, look what you did, now you got me in the miui mood, I'm gonna have to switch back.

on MIUI, just open the THEMES app and download whatever theme you want. also you can customize the current theme you are on to make it any way you like....personally i like meeui dark with ics mixed in....

I'll throw in a plug for the ADW launcher, which will let you wasily do several of the modifications you want: roemove the dock, hide the notification bar and change icons via a long press of the target.
I only use Desktop Visualizer if I want to use an icon that's larger than 1x1.

Use the advice that was given above your post, 3 years ago... just install a new launcher and disable it in the app settings. Perhaps your current launcher can already do it.

how to change launcher pro menu icons?

i've been trying to use themes, and noticing that with launcherpro, after you press menu on the home screen, some of the icons don't change along with the new theme. as such, the search, notifications, and preferences icons don't change. does anyone have a way to fix this?

You have to touch a blank spot on the screen. A menu will pop up, hit shortcut then applications. Pick your app then click on the icon and it well ask if you want the default icon or a custom one. You should be able to use any pictures you have in your gallery. You can also google png (fill in the blank) icon pictures and then download them to your sd card.
No he's talking about the icons for the menu options. When you press menu on the homescreen. I believe its because some of the icons call on the system default icons (the default in your case being whatever theme your using) and some come with the app. I think you would have to open the apk and swap out the .pngs with the icons you want to use.
I think...I've never done this, so hopefully someone will come in and fill in the holes that my ignorance couldn't.

yea thats what i meant. here's what it looks like currently. its a honeycomb theme with bionix 1.3.1 and using launcherpro. you can see that some of the icons are the new blue ones, but the rest didnt change.
i tried using ninjamorph to change the the icons, the blue ones are in system/framework, but i dont know where the notification, search, and preferences ones are located. anyone have any clue?
Those specific ones should be located with in the launcher pro apk, if im thinking about thi s correctly. you will need to resign the apk after making my modifications for it to work. Hope this helps

Just installed TheCollective's AoCP 3.1 ROM- a few Q's

Just installed this ROM.
Its really nice. But how do I change the color of the battery, clock and wifi signal icons in the upper right corner of the screen from the ugly orange?
Also, I would like the change the color of the keyboard (which is also the same ugly orange).
I was looking in the settings for over 30 minutes and couldn't figure out how to change these things.
Thanks.
Theme. Orange is stock color for collective.

You mean settings and Themes? I looked there, there is nothing to configure. It only gives me one 1 theme to pick (the Collective theme that has an atomic blast as a wallpaper).
I installed ADW launcher and switched to that launcher. But even after that, the battery and wifi icons in the upper right corner are still orange. And in settings/Themes, it still gives me nothing to configure and only 1 theme to pick (even after installing an ADW theme from Google Play).
Some more suggestions on how to change the icon colors would be appreciated. Thanks.

i did but the icons in the right corner are still orange.
i installed some themes for Go Launcher. And applied them and the icons in the corner are still orange.
when i go on google play and search for android themes its seems like the first 50 listed require GO EX launcher. is there any good theme that doesn't require a special launcher? one that someone can point me to? maybe if i apply a theme that doesn't require a launcher the color of the icons in the corner will not be orange anymore.
i also rebooted my phone a couple of times, that didnt fix the orange color of the icons.

Not familiar with Go Launcher. I'm using Nova Launcher. I like Nova because it lets me backup my screen widgets. Saves a lot time when you flash every new releases. I use the Xperia theme with Nova.

[Q] Add Icon to Icon Pack

Okay, so I'm trying to customize an Icon Pack, by adding some Icons for some apps that it doesn't have.
I want to know how exactly can I do this?
I'm using Go launcher, and I saw in another thread a thingy about Go Launcher Theme factory...The problem is, I'm not trying to create a theme, I just want to add the Icons I've made for certain apps to the existing Icon Pack (I'm not planning on uploading it or anything).
Thanks for any help.

Am I wrong...???

Im loving this amazing app so fsr on my GS4 but I still have some questions without answers, even though it coukd be just a lack of experience using this app my self.. Jere I go:
1. I can't find a way to change the default wallpapers for cuatom ones
2. I can't find how to replase some of the default icons on the dock bar by my prefered apps (like Go. Launcher style, wjre it let you edit any app, for example in Go Launcher I can place the +Contacts app and replace its original icon with the stock icon of the theme being used)
3. How can I eliminate widgets and add eliminate screens? Almost all themes have a news widget whixh i dont want.. What can I do?
I think this app rocks but it atill needs more customization and easier acces to more options
Thanls dor this glorious app!!!
For example, I could manage to change thenwall paper butnas soon as I changenthe number of main screens inside the themer settings thenwallpaper became all blaxk and wont let me see anybwidget. I add

A way to enable adaptive icon shape for all icons?

I was wondering is there a way to make all icons in oval shape? At the moment system icons are in squares, and third party icons are circles? For example, I prefer all icons to be circles (especially those from Fairyland theme).
Yes, I know I can do this with Nova launcher, but with 3rd party launchers you lose some functionality (HiSearch, and most app shortcuts).
I've customised a theme with EMUI theme manager, but I don't think it supports EMUI 9 at it's full potential at the moment, because when I compile the theme and save it, after applying it, icons are mixed up; for example themes icon apply to music, music icon apply photos etc...
So I'm open to ideas! Any suggestions?
You can use this application to convert any icons pack to Huawei icon theme. Then you apply the generated theme as usually you do, it will only change the icons. Hope this helps.

Thank you.
I took a different approach and have managed to make it. Already Post dinner as new thread in themes, apps directory.

OP solved this by making a custom theme with round icons for the stock apps.
The inconsistent icon shapes bother me a lot too. OP's theme - Fairy Circle - and the excellent XZ3 theme sort this out for now.
Hopefully Huawei fix this jarring business with their next device and we can install themes from that and be done with it.
