Custom battery icon on stock rom with Kitchen? - Galaxy Tab 8.9 Themes and Apps

Using stock room 3.2 rooted. I'm trying to make a Custom battery icon with kitchen it works but the icon is way to small on the tab to see very well.
Anyway to increase the size?

Anyone? I don't want to use a widget to do this. Kitchen works but the icon is to small.

I'm not at my computer right now but the kitchen I do believe puts the batteries in the drawable hdpi folder. This device doesn't run off of that, it runs off of drawable mdpi. You have to move them to a diffetent folder to get the right size. Download one of my older themes for the 8.9 and look at the files to see how I had it set up. If I was at the computer I could help you more.

Open ninja morph, choose the apk you want to modify.. The images you want to change are in res folder in the drawable dir.. choose the icon and replace it with one out of the icon pack..
Open astro.. Go to android themes.. Make new directory, Theme_Name.. Open the workspace folder..this is where the changed apk is... Copy res folder.. Paste it inside Theme_Name.. Delete everything but drawable... Open the silver edit folder in astro and copy Theme_Name.xml and paste it with your new res folder... You just made a morph on your phone...
Open meta morph..start checks and chose existing... Click Theme_Name and Theme_Name.xml, apply all...
Your original images from your apk are in backup inside android themes...
Thanks stericson for 2 great apps
I used this method today to build a metamorph theme... I used dropbox, a free app from the market to upload it for the community... I dont even need a comp anymore...

Hey. Just wanted to know if its possible to use created icons from scratch in place of the original icons. But the original icons will always be in that folder right.?
And is there an alternative way instead of metamorph.Thanks.

Well I haven't really had the ability to do lately... and those that can't do, teach.. I was lucky to get in on the bottom floor and learn before xda got cluttered with a bunch of ppl that just take... I figure this is my way to give back to the real devs that put out quality work but can't make their roms perfect for everybody... so that anybody can make the small edits to make their phone perfect for them...

[MetaMorph] Transparent Lockscreen (com.htc.resources.apk)

This is a Metamorph for a transparent lockscreen that was made by request for a friend. This is intended for a deodexed stock mytouch4G ROM (2.2/2.2.1). This will modify com.htc.resources.apk. Most likely this will crash your system when applied. If not, reboot to see changes. Ive been seeing an error when using metamorph to extract, it does not seem to find the theme file. All files extract and you will be able to apply by selecting "Pick existing theme".
*NOTE* This works when applied using the safari theme (thanks for the feedback). I'll look into modifying other themes... eventually. Requests will be considered.

So after trying this, the text on the lock screen doesn't line up correctly. All 3 lines of text, the date, the time & T-mobile all overlap. Is this supposed to be used with any of the lock screen themes or a specific one? Anything else need to be changed to get it to align correctly?

So this is just a transparent slider for the lockscreen?
I'm assuming theres no way to make a fully or semi-transparent wallpaper?
I know most icons are png's, which support transparency, but I'm not sure (and highly doubt) if a transparent png file would retain transparency after being set to be the wallpaper? If I had to guess I would think the file is converted in some way before it is actually applied...
I wonder if there is a way to bypass this and allow for transparencies in the wallpaper?
Though this works, it doesn't look so good since its transparent and the text overlays whatever is on the first screen. It would be nice if the lockscreen background could be honored by the stock froyo lock. Or at the very least, a solid color or black background.

Transparent images won't set correctly, from what I've read about other sense ROMs, you'd have to hexedit the file, changing the color to transparent... don't know if it would even work. There are lockscreen replacements, like lock bot, possibly some others. Wish there where better options... the ROM in general lacks the basics for most things I want to do... which is why I currently run the desire HD port by gr8gorilla. The ROM has been ported to a lot of phones, so there is quite a bit of mods and themes available.
I'm curious what features. Are you referring to stock? Does the desire port have working drivers for everything? I thought FFC (camera) was a problem as well as video playback. Iced is what I'm currently using and its rock solid and can overclock.

Hmmm.. I made it just from that twlauncher which was in the first post and switched app drawer backtabs to transparent... It took about 5 minutes to copy them from another twlauncher which is fully transparent. Didn't test it so don't know what is the problem.
Edit: Oups, didn't notice that drnishant123 made his own, working version.

[Q] App Icons?

I want to replace the stock icons with illest theme icons from kgill7.. is there a way with out using a third party launcher to do this? Right now I'm using apex launch with white frost theme for the skin and illest adw icons. It looks nice, the only thing is that apex doesn't change most of the icons even tho its in the theme. So I been snooping with root explorer to see if I can just rename the .png and push it to replace the stock icon. But I've had no luck so far. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Not sure if it's what you're talking about exactly, but I changed the icon of a stock HTC camera apk one time. Used 7zip on a PC. I had a camera apk that had an icon I really liked, but a newer version of camera with stupid icon came out.
Anyhow, I put both apks on desktop. Opened with 7zip. Browsed the pngs til I found the main camera icon. (Think it was called launcher.ic.png) just swapped the PNG into the camera apk that I wanted. Didn't have to sign apk or anything. Just don't extract the apk to browse its files. 7zip lets you browse without extracting.
Not sure if this was the kind of info you were lookin for. Sorry.

I like Nova Launcher becuase of all the various options it allows and it also allows you to change out the icons for virtually any of the aps you add to your desktop - I personally am using ADW icon Pack and a Launcher Pro Icon pak (both work with Nova just fine) Not sure if this is what you were talking about - but I hope it helps -
desktop visualizer will do that for you.. change icons without using a launcher
Thanks I'll look in to that n yea I know how change the icons on the desktop just really want to change the icons in the drawer as well but thanks for all the responses

I have found a way to actually change the icon, unlike desktop visualizer where it only creates a short cut of the app, this app actually modifies the icon to which ever one you choose. It's called ninjamorph. I take no credit found it on another forum just don't remember what forum.

Q(How to) change icons with a batch operation?

Alright I know how to do this, but I am wanting to change a lot of my icons in the sense Rom I am running. Is there a way to do it in batch form? What is the easiest simplest solution to this? Any help from you expert themers would be very helpful. Thanks....
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
First, if you are replacing status bar icons, the easiest way to do this is open the apk with 7zip and drag your new icons into the correct res/drawable... folder.
If you insist on a batch operation, you can look for a VillainRom theme package. They use a script to replace (and it is flashed in recovery). I suggest finding one of these and looking at the scripts inside to learn how it works. You basically create the folder with the images you want to replace and it does the work for you. Be sure to thank the creators of this very handy tool.
Finally, you could create a batch file that uses 7zip to do it. I actually did this for a brief time until I came across the VR themes.
You could use my ReZone theme as a guideline for doing what you want. The ONLY downside is it doesn't work with TWRP recovery.
Thanks for the replies....
What I should have specified is the app icons in the app drawer, and desktop. I downloaded the anti apple icons, and want to make a custom theme using them for myself. So I can open the apks, and change the icon, but that takes forever. I was wondering if there is a themer program that would allow me to do it in a batch format. That way u wouldn't have to do it for 75 apps individually. I know that you can install theme packs on aosp, and was hoping there was a way to do it with sense. Again, thanks for the interest, and help...

easy enough if you are using nova or apex launcher and doing an icon set or viperes rom has this option
Yeah, I was hoping to do it on Dsb's 3.6 Rom. I may switch back to viper when the update drops. I was just hoping there was an easy way to do it to sense roms that the themers were willing to share....

My original suggestion is what you want to use, it works on Sense. First thing you would do is clean out my folders or just make new ones following the folder structure. Then basically all you have to do is find the apps icon name (extract original .apk). Create the folders and add your new icon. Then just go into recovery and flash it... BHAM!! new icon. Lets not make this difficult. It will work on Sense or AOSP ROMs. Very simple thing to do..
EDIT:
I have attached a sample .zip were I change 3 icons from my Theme the Camera, Gmail, and YouTube. If you follow that format (icons have different names and locations) you can change any icon you want and all you have to do is flash it.
Thanks Zone. Started last night. You say bam, but more like bbaaaaaaammnnnnnn. I will finish it up through the week, and post it in homescreens thread with a special thanks to you..
