[Q] AVCRP 1.3/1.4 Support - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Anybody who can tell me if it is possible to add AVCRP 1.3/1.4 to the Xperia S?
Currently it only supports 1.1

If I'm not mistaken, the support should come from the native Android itself.

Ok, so is it possible to change something or install something to get that working?

I highly doubt so.
If you are looking for features like seeing who is calling (Name), music title, etc in your Bluetooth device, then you can look into the new Bluetooth device (Smart Wireless Headset pro) that Sony has announced (yet to be available here)

what are you guys talking about ???

Funny you come up with that one, cause im actually getting that one. Ordered it already.
So im curious if it will work out of the box on that one. My car is not the problem, as my old Iphone 3GS streams meta data perfectly to my car. (Citroen C3 2011). The Xperia S does not...

Anybody who has any clue as how to get this working ?

This is a feature which needs to be built into Android, so the only hope is if it is included in an update. And the most likely update is the ICS update from Sony.
Even ICS doesn't support this as standard.

Cyanogenmod seems to support it...
That would make it not to hard to implement it in a rooted S.

FLASH on mini & mini pro ! Release by Adobe !

Hi !
I've read that Qualcomm and Adobe will work together to release a Flash player version compatible with our processor (MSM7x27) !
http://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...nabled-smartphones-and-tablets-122931303.html -> English

It sounds good, but they sure picked this up since they want to steal the show since flash lite has been released.
Oh well, atleast we get a better and stable version.

That's... pretty damn awesome actually... Good call on Qualcomm and Adobe's part, looking forward to this.

That's the website of the MSM7x27 chipset if anyone wants to check it out.
Does that mean flash browsing in the summertime? I surely hope so! Great news
Finally, it was only a matter of time before we heard this news, Would certinly make the web experience feel more complete
When will this exactly happen and how will we know about it? Will we still have to install it through a SEUS update?
This is gettin' good

I think the highest we can hope for is a build update to make the flash capability adaptable. We really do not need further updates as we will have both flash and multitouch. What more can you want really.

Am I missing something? Since when does x10 mini pro has flash features? Unless you're talking about flashlite which is not for browsers.

Read the article on the first post, Adobe seems to have change of hearts and wants to make a flash compatible with our devices.
Sorry mate, read your post wrong! "We really do not need further updates as we WILL have" .... well, somehow I didn't see that "will" and the sentence made a totally different meaning. I should probably go to sleep and stop posting at 5 a.m. . I hate exam periods...
so our phone will be so cool than iphone.
Definately. Simply AWESOME!!!

Android 4.4 Kit Kat features

So here it is:
http://developer.android.com/about/versions/kitkat.html
About Bluetooth:
Android 4.4 support for two new Bluetooth profiles to let apps support a broader range of low-power and media interactions. Bluetooth HID over GATT (HOGP) gives apps a low-latency link with low-power peripheral devices such as mice, joysticks, and keyboards. Bluetooth MAP lets your apps exchange messages with a nearby device, for example an automotive terminal for handsfree use or another mobile device. As an extension to Bluetooth AVRCP 1.3, users can now set absolute volume on the system from their Bluetooth devices.
Platform support for HOGP, MAP, and AVRCP is built on the Bluedroid Bluetooth stack introduced by Google and Broadcom in Android 4.2. Support is available right away on Nexus devices and other Android-compatible devices that offer compatible Bluetooth capabilities.
About RAM managing:
Android 4.4 is designed to run fast, smooth, and responsively on a much broader range of devices than ever before — including on millions of entry-level devices around the world that have as little as 512MB RAM.
KitKat streamlines every major component to reduce memory use and introduces new APIs and tools to help you create innovative, responsive, memory-efficient applications.
OEMs building the next generation of Android devices can take advantage of targeted recommendations and options to run Android 4.4 efficiently, even on low-memory devices. Dalvik JIT code cache tuning, kernel samepage merging (KSM), swap to zRAM, and other optimizations help manage memory. New configuration options let OEMs tune out-of-memory levels for processes, set graphics cache sizes, control memory reclaim, and more.

Well no it didnt...
Only low res phones were cabable for upgrade and high end like Xperia Arc didnt so they could not just update cheap phones without expensive one.
Anyway they are Sony Ericsson phones now not from Sony so thats another reason.

I think it's time to write a message to Sony to be so kind and make at least the new drivers that fits to KitKat to help the XU, P, Go XDA devs to make a proper Rom. Fingers crossed.
Even though Galaxy Nexus is fully compatible with Android 4.4, Google is not upgrading it. Xperia P, Go, U and Sola users shouldn't pin hopes at all. Even if Sony were to upgrade older phones, they would rather focus on their flagship like S and ion instead of budget phones like U and Sola..

TI isn't active on the market anymore. That's probably the reason for not supporting Gnex. (why make new drivers and such when you don't release new products...)

That is logical, but I would like KitKat on my Sola so much. The ICS made this great phone a crippled device, so if KitKat runs on 512MB devices, then it's a great opportunity to bring the Sola back to life.

Probably won't work... the camera in the Rezound is not supported in most newer kernels, the drivers we have are old, this is been one of the main stumbling blocks in development on this device since he have to do complicated work arounds to even get the camera to work in newer ROMs, the chances that the Z2's camera apk or utilities will even work are slim to none. Sorry. You might be able to find a third party utility in the Play Store that can do this at the software level though, but this isn't my area of expertise...
I want to use the background defocus, maybe I will buy a new device. is there anything you recommend? but not z2 of course, z2 very expensive

I was not aware that some Xperia phones were capable of full-seg DTV. Does it make a difference, in such a small display? Anyway, right now I could help only if someone gives me some files from his full-seg firmware, so I can test and possibly make it work on the C6843. To begin with, I would need at least the kernel (including the ramdisk), to compare with C6843's kernel. I've investigated some time ago the difference between C6833 and C6843 to find out what's different in C6843 besides the hardware tuner, and it's only a kernel module, some init.rc changes (which goes into the ramdisk), shared libraries and the DTV app itself.

still no VOLTE and fingerprint scanning on US version?

looking at either this or the iPhone SE. the iPhone has already been confirmed to have VOLTE on T-Mobile unlocked, but I heard the Z5C is still unsupported. any updates on these two features? would prefer to get the Z5C, as I'm upgrading from the Z3C, but not if the Z5C is still lacking these two features.

IMO there's no point in buying the US version of the Z5C without the fingerprint reader. Get a European version. I bought mine from Clove UK.
I am interested in the iPhone SE too but I'm not sure I can live with iOS long term. Where did you see VoLTE would work on the unlocked version?

oh I heard the US version has the fingerprint scanner enabled via a different firmware?
also, I confirmed that the unlocked iPhone SE will work via both T-mobile and Apple store employees. PC Mag also used an unlocked version for their review and mentions VOLTE working: http://www.pcmag.com/review/343254/apple-iphone-se-sim-free
T-Mobile also added the SE to the list: http://www.t-mobile.com/optional-services/coverage-phones-700.html
is there at least a rom that will enable both features? looking at the dev section, it seems dead. definitely not as supported as the Z3C was.
man what happened to this place? Z3C forum used to be active when it came to the US. I guess the Z5C community isn't as big huh.
I think you're only going to get VoLTE when a phone is also sold by the carrier. Similar to WiFi calling, the carrier builds the feature into the firmware.
The iPhone, even the unlocked version is designed to be fully supported on T-Mobile. Sony phones are not. I doubt even a custom ROM can help you either.
