..................................
I bought the XUMA USB WALL CHARGER from ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Xuma-USB-Wa...ccessories&hash=item19cdc28442#ht_1810wt_1161
Theoretically, since is a 1.5A charger (or 1500ma) it should charge our device from 0 to 100% in about 1 hour and a half.
OR......
28 percent in just 30 minutes....................that's almost 1% per minute......
I'll get it this Friday and report back. Might as well go pick one up for yourself. You have to use your own USB Cable.... OEM Cable seems highly recommended.
CHEERS!

IF and only if its middle pins are shorted you will get a max of 1 amp charge, not 1.5.

I think just the pins on your cable need to be shorted so if you use your OEM cable that came with the Note then it should work.
OP- Please report back how it works out. Thanks for posting.

As said earlier, this is incorrect. If the pins on the cable are shorted, the cable won't pass data. If the pins on the charger are shorted, any USB cable will allow fast charge.

get a 10 amp charger and it will charge even faster.
Guys dont be stupid. Note wont charger faster than what an 1 amp charger does.
You have to have special kernel mod to get a higher amp charger to charge faster.
edit : if u r spending that money get a genuine hp touchpad charger. its 2amp. At least will be useful for other devices as well

Wil Da_G's kernel mod allow this?
How would we go about implementing using a special kernel mod to get a faster charge?

Also, for 9.99 i wouldn't be at a great loss, i needed a spare. figured i would do others a favor and test something else out.

[Q] Atrix Charge Times

Hi all
I notice that the charger I got with my Atrix is 500mA (where my old Samsung Galaxy S was 750mA).
This isn't really an issue but does seem to result in very long charge times (especially, I imagine, as the battery is 1900mAh!).
So, as a question, how long do people find it takes to charge their phones (from nearly empty while the device is switched on)? I am interested to see what charge times are over mains and USB.
I would say, for me, mains is 3-4 hours and USB is 4-5 hours. And that is if I do not use the thing - if I am surfing the web or playing games, it can be all day on charge over USB.
So - is this the norm?
Cheers
James
Hmmm. The charger that came with my atrix supplies 750mA. Maybe you would like to check again =D

500mA is the equivalent of USB 2. If you have a 500mA charger that came with your Atrix, it sounds like someone swapped out the chargers.
Where did you get your phone from?
My primary charger (from my old Sanyo Sprint phone) is 1A (or 1000mA). It has about a 2-3 hour charge time. So long as the charger outputs .5V (standard USB power), it should be safe to use a higher mA rating.

G3 slow charge with non oem cable

Has anyone noticed how slow the g3 charges without the oem cable.. If so what did you buy for a spare for fast charging. I need 1 for work and for my cars. Ty Matt
Some cables just suck. I haven't even used my OEM cable, it's still in the box. My wife has a G3 as well and she uses it. My two non OEM charge our phones just as fast as the OEM.
Try a different cable, that's my recommendation.

What kind of cable were you using? You could have the best charger in the world but if you are using a weak cable with thin wiring it will not charge quickly. The G3 charges very quickly with OEM cables and with OEM Samsung cables.
I also have a Samsung cable and htc cable with the same results. Fast charging for me only with the oem cable and charger
I had issues with this too, but I've had a lot of cables go bad on me recently for some reason. Galaxy S3's stopped charging on sammy OEM cables too. Eventually I think they just wear out. The LG OEM seems like a nice heavy duty cable. Go to banggood or dx.com or something and pick up one of those USB Charge Testers. They show Voltage and Amperage. I have a LOOONG, cheap USB cable that I bought from one of those sites. It showed it was only outputting 0.23A. My phone was dead on the charger the next morning. OEM cable puts out almost 1.5A or a bit more on my sammy & LG chargers. I have a sammy cable that was showing 0A. Dead cable. Buy one...great way to tell if a cable's bad or the whole charger and they're cheap. Someone recommended the monoprice cables with the ferrite cores (not the 'premium' ones). Have yet to order any.
I use my Samsung galaxy chargers for all of my devices. They have the highest charging rate and the longest cables plus the cable comes out at a 90 degree angle for lower clearance.

I noticed that my phone charges slow when I don't use the usb cable that with. Specially when I'm using a traveler charger
It's funny, my best charging cables are the ones that came with the 2012 Nexus 7 tablets. I was really sad when one of them started to fall apart.
But finding good cables is the absolute worst.

Can anyone tell me if xperia z2(d6502) supports the uch10 quick charger .
i'm planning to buy one but on the internet somewhere it shows yes xperia z2 supports while some people are saying no it doesn't support.
i'm confused. maybe if anyone who has already bought it can help me?
Why not use Jackos QC 2.0 zip and buy a QC 3.0 charger?
I have a dodocool DA56WUK QC 3.0 charger, a heavy gauge USB cable, and Jackos zip. Charging my Z2 is much faster at up to 1650mA.

Also, only the Japanese Z2 natively supports QC 2.0. Hence the need to use Jackos zip file.
Otherwise our Z2 models will only use a QC charger as a normal one, there will be no gain in charge current or voltage.
If you get a QC 3.0 charger it will serve newer phone models but is also backwards compatible with QC 2.0.

Bro I'm on Indian version of xperia z2 (d6502). Can you please explain me more if the jackos charger you saying will work on my phone. And what all things I need to do.
And also tell me if uch10 will work or not.?
It should work as your D6502 has the same Snapdragon 801.
You only need to install Jackos_QuickCharge2.0_rev5.zip
and then buy a QuickCharge certified charger.
I suggest you forget about the Sony charger and look at QC 3.0 ones instead. I got mine at a good price from Amazon. Also look for a heavier gauge USB lead.
Then when you're all set to go install a monitoring app such as Ampere; you can compare the different charge rates between your standard charger and your new QC one. You will definitely see a difference.

What advantage will I have if I use a 3.0 quick charger.?
And will it heat th phone more? Or any device specific problem?
Which charger you have. Can I get the link please bro?
And thanks for your quick reply
Much appreciated.
More present devices are QC 3.0 certified so you should be better prepared when you buy a new phone by already having a v3.0 charger. Plus it's also backwards compatible with QC 2.0.
My Z2 always heats up on charge but no more than it did with the stock charger.
Details of my charger are posted earlier.
Google Qualcomm Quick Charge to get more of an idea between the versions (v4.0 is on its way), you can see what devices are currently supported.

Last few questions.
1. Do I need to flash the zip you gave for quick charger 2.0 support? (I guess tha answer is yes)
2. After flashing this zip, if 1 buy a 2.0 charger, it will work na? (yes too)
3. Quick charge 3.0 charger will be faster than quick charger 2.0. Because the phone supports 2.0 and with 3.0, we'll be providing more voltage than it can use? Whatsay about this?
1 - Yes. But read Jackos first post, particularly the latter part about partially supporting QC 2.0. I would say the zip works at about 70% of a fully supported device.
2 - Yes
3 - Read this https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/quick-charge

The specs say it's QC 3.0 and most of the reviews are good too so I would imagine it should work OK.

Wait, you said flashing that zip should bring QC2.0 to any Z2 but in Jackos thread he said there has to be based on AndroPlus kernel, which has lost support for MM. Will it be functional, still, when I want to apply this trick on MM?

Read further down Jackos first post....
Flashing only the zip and using a Qualcomm QC compatible charger will give you a charging boost equivalent to approx. 60% of the QC 2.0 standard.
Remember, it's a hack to give partial QC 2.0 charging capability.
See my post on the last page of that thread.

Does that imply that we will never get QC2.0 onto our Z2 UNLESS someone port a AndroPlus-liked QC2.0 enabled kernel for Z2 on MM?

Full QC 2.0, I doubt it.
Partial QC 2.0, as we have now with Jackos zip, is much faster than standard charging so I'm quite happy as it stands.

No way do I have time to make a video....
But as my post on the hack thread says, for a 0-to-100% charge the Sony took approx. 3.5 hours.
With the dodocool it takes approx. 2 hours.
Thats good enough for me
Is the battery drain more while using Qc hack?
Nope. There's absolutely no reason why it should be.

Please advice a Charger

Alternate 65w charger?

This might be the wrong section (if so please feel free to move it to the correct spot) just curious if anyone has a found a 3rd party 65w charger that works with this phone and gives the same charging speed as well as if there is a longer alternate cable that works? Just curious if there are any options I can have as a back up in case something happens and a longer cable since the one that comes with the phone is incredibly short.
and on top of that i am wondering if the supplied charger can charge my laptop.
