Bigger Screen! Same size device but maybe do away with the touch capacitive buttons and a Quad core
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA

Same physical size, screen all the way
Quad core lte of course
3000 mah battery
That will do

Larger battery. Even though it had the best life of any phone I have used, it could still be better, and I'm sure there's plenty of extra room to squeeze out a few more mAh. Make it built in if they need to, I could care less about being able to remove it, if it lasts me through a day with heavy usage. I imagine they could fit a monster in the frame of the Note seeing that Motorola crammed 3300 in the maxx.
Full 1080p Super AMOLED+. No pentile, even though it doesn't really bug me all that much on this high def screen, I can still notice a bit.
Carbon fiber unibody frame. Highly unlikely, but if I could have my way with the Samsung R&D team...strong, sexy, and super light.
Quad core Exynos for ****s n gigs. Not really necessary with the current state of most apps and Android in general, but it would make gaming unbelievable. Imagine if they started making games like Battlefield 3 compatible with phones, so that all you need is an HDTV and a Bluetooth controller to play games anywhere. Imagine how that would kill console gaming. Hell, I would drop 60 bucks on the app to be able to bring my gaming to any house I go to, as well as my saved games.
Varying levels of internal storage. If I could have bought a 32 or 64 gig note before a micro sd, I would for sure pounce on that. That would allow some serious game storage without needing an extra card.
Mini hdmi port. Mhl ports work, but in my experience they're mediocre at best. This goes along with my mobile gaming dream.
Wireless charging built in. The powermat was a cool idea, but the fact that you needed to use their stupid case sucked. I would love to plop my phone on my nightstand at night and know it will be charging.
12 MP camera maybe? Idk, the current camera doesn't need much improvement beyond better image processing, faster shutter speed, and better optics. 5 MP front facing with a flash on front.
Make it the Nexus Note. And release that beast as the first Jellybean phone.
Along with that stuff, all of the stuff you listed with the pen. Plus the pen could be sturdier, maybe aluminum? Haha.
I know what I have described would be very expensive, but even if they just made it as a premium model, I would bite hard on it, and probably shell out 500 for it subsidized.

I think I have just created the perfect phone.

Evidently a new stock keyboard, judging by the OP.
Just kidding!!
[But seriously, get swiftkey, you'll love it]
And I'm serious about the new keyboard - the autocorrection on the default keyboard is annoying at best.
Quad-core, dual channel memory would certainly round it out. And I wouldn't mind going up to 5.5 or even 6 inch screen.
Built in bluetooth earpiece would be great but I don't foresee much of a demand for such a thing - people like choice in that sort of device.

FFF (front facing flash)
Built in kickstand, something simple like evo had, simple but did the trick for skyping.
6" screen
Better spen functionality
Thin her out
Increase battery life
mini hdmi out
NFC that works
But if I were to have but only one feature, I'd make it a nexus straight from google phone so I dont have to deal with all the ATT bloat and feet dragging and BS big updates about bird games.
While i like the initial thoughts of an edge to edge screen, I do like to have an area to grip the phone, so I'd leave it as is with the bezel area.
As for slide out KB, I used to swear by them because of large hands. Went through a couple G1s then MyTouch Slide but eventually I gave it and never looked back.

3D? QWERTY? No thank You. I don't need more bloatware and i had the thrill and never used 3D. Besides it would change the quality of our screen.
16 Megapixel back, 8 Megapixel front camera?! Do you know what you're saying? No person needs a 16 Megapixel camera on their phone. Do you know what editing a 16 mp pic in photoshop looks like? Do you know how big of a picture that is? And although the front can be improved it wouldn't need to be 8 mp. What the camera need is better quality (which does not mean higher mp), and the shutter speed needs to match that of an iphone 4s. (which i hope can be improved with a software update)
And the one thing everyone here missed as far as i saw is more memory. 10gb after the os? Psssshhhshshshshshshhhshshshshshhshshshs

Top of my list would be a more precise/responsive touch screen, both for finger and pen. Maybe it's an android issue, but I can't stand the. 5sec/.5cm of delay while trying to scroll in the browser. I don't think my iPhone 4s exhibited this. For tthose that have tried out ICS on n7000, is this lag still there or noticeable?
As far as the s-pen goes... c'mon, it's 2012, why does the pen input still feel the same as it did my my HP pocketpc?!?! I'd expect to be drawing/writing on the screen with 0 to non-perceptable lag by now. (In part due to android's non-GPU accelerated GUI?)
More juice please! The new.ipad can cram 12000mah into the battery, can we maybe just have 1/3 of that?? That's a 60% increase, combine with more energy efficient hardware, I won't have to carry extra batteries with me anymore.

1080P: how much difference does it make?

There has been a lot of discussion about whether a 1080P screen on a 5 inch device really makes that much of a difference. There will probably be a hit in terms of battery life and responsiveness so is the higher resolution worth it?
Since some people here have already seen the phone, I wanted their opinion. How much of a difference is there between the screen on the DNA versus say the One X ? In what activities does 1080P make the biggest difference: reading, video, games ?

I cannot see any pixelation on my OneX and even my 267 ppi Note2 with very small text.
It is still more like a gimmick than a real deal. I can see many people get crazy about it, but the user experience is not very different from my old OneX, even identical.
I thinl in terms of smoothness, speed and screen, Android high end phones and iPhones has reached the limit. Now software and battery life are more important.

In a game with good lighting graphics, etc it might make a difference. Not sure if the s4pro will be able to handle games that look good enough to make a noticeable difference, if there is any. Games theoretically could be made to look smoother without AA with a really high ppi too.

Hmm I was looking at the Note 2 next to the GS3 in a Sprint store and the Note 2 had whites that were whiter by far and was much brighter. It's possible their GS3's screen had issues after constantly being on for half a year though.

And the best part is a game with 1080p graphics will be about 3 or 4 gigs and the device only has about 8 usable so you wont be able to play any games that are made for the resolution anyway, lol.
Yeah 1080P games and video will eat up that 11gb pretty quickly. I suspect that we will have to wait for the Galaxy S4 for a 1080P phone to be done right, with a microSD slot and a big battery.
Still web reading is probably my no.1 use on my phone and that doesn't require storage. If 1080P significantly improves the reading experience, that alone would be worth it for me.

well Batman Returns is not even a 1080 game and its 2.25 gigs, so I kindly dis agree with you Sir.
The size will depending on length and style of the game. If you made wind waker 1080p then it wouldn't have to be as bad as something that's supposed to look real.
I do think that the rom is going to feel small in a year or so for anyone who likes to play a lot of 3D exploring games though. You'll probably only be able to keep a couple installed at a time, maybe 3 if you don't keep much music stored. But most people tend to play 1 or 2 games at a time so it actually might be an annoyance but not a deal breaker..

i heard that Samsung had to turn the brightness down on the s3 because of the battery
In the real world we generally don't hold our phone right against our eyes, because it would be out of focal range for us. Which means that virtually nobody will notice the difference between this phones screen, the GS3, the iphone 5, or the GN II. If you do notice a difference your probably the person that also says they can feel the earth rotating.

You are completely right, it is about personal opinion. For me personally the dealbreaker on the Note II was the phones size (mostly width) and slippery plastic (i sure as hell wouldnt add a case to make it wider), and had nothing to do with the screen resolution. The note II does have nice battery and storage, but that doesnt change how huge it feels in my hand. I also care about how a phone looks, and the first impression I get on a Note II is that its ridiculous looking especially when holding one up to your head for phone calls.
I preordered mine. I've watched countless reviews and between the wireless charging back, s4 processor, 2GB Ram, the performance with near identical hardware outperforms the Nexus 4 in almost every synthetic test.

Yes, but why should you have to? It appears that the usage model HTC has gone forward with is to carry two devices, one phone and one external memory device. Thats two power cords and two devices where ever you go. That is a terrible usage model to be designing a device around. How can anyone expect that model to succeed in today's world of 64 gig + phones?
They should move to a one device usage model, where your device has enough memory to have at least ten apps, and take pictures and videos, and still utilize the cloud. A minimum of 32 gigs is needed with the new features (photo sphere) and 1080p recording.......

GS4 vs GS4 active?

I planned to wait for the release of the GS4 active, because the original GS4 proved to be very fragile. I do not want to be forced to use a bulky case and the GS4 failed multiple drop tests when compared to the iPhone 5 and its predecessor, the Galaxy S3. According to the rumor mill, the GS4 active will be a inferior to the original GS4. With rumors floating around that it will only have a dual core processor and an 8 megapixel camera, I am not inclined to buy this phone. What are your thoughts? Do you believe that these rumors hold any truth?
Its not rumor. There has been a video posted of the phone. Those specs are true.

People use their phones every day. Often times people need/want to use their phone in the rain, or perhaps it drops in the puddle, there's a hundred reasons why having a water resistant phone is a good thing for most people.

the camera is most likely (don't know for sure but suspecting...) BETTER than the S4.
I've read they increased S4 to 13mp without increasing sensors size.
You've all seen the threads on blurry pics at night, right? One reason why? 13 megapixels, same optics.
More megapixels needs more light. Same light, lower brightness for each pixel. Plus that's a huge file and I doubt the sharpness will really increase with extra megapixels on a phone camera.
I'd rather Samsung use its experience with cameras and optics to provide a REAL increase in image quality via bigger/better sensor, optical image stabilization, etc. Although I just read HDR video came to S4 which is pretty darn cool. And there will be S4 Zoom with an actual zoom lens, also darn cool. That's what I'm talking about. One other thing I wish all phones had was a friggin' lens cover for the camera. Just a little thing that would slide over, maybe not even mechanical, just a little door users could close over it or something. Or at the least I wish case manufacturers would include this, something that slid or buttoned over it. Now I have to use tape.
Anyway, bottom line -- I think the Active camera will be BETTER especially at night..
All specs are actually better. It has an LCD screen which will be much better for a lot of reasons. MUCH brighter, accurate color, no pentile, etc. Work under water, as well as the camera working under water, in the rain, etc. And my fav-- hard buttons.
I'm going to start a thread on Verizon forums on this and try to get in touch with their corporate people to see if I can convince them to bring the S4 Active to Verizon. If they come out with it, i'll buy it off contract in a second!!!!
There is so much misinformation in this post.

Megapixel count has nothing to do with how much light they need. It's the sensor that determines how much light is needed. The reason some higher megapixel cameras look worse at night is with the ISO boost you get more grain that is more dispersed across the greater pixel count.
The most important factor in low light performance is sensor size.
And yes, sharpness will absolutely increase with 13mp vs. 8. You have 50% more detail. Keep in mind this really only matters if you are blowing up images on PRINT (it own't make a difference on a 1080p TV since a 2MP image produces a 1920x1080 image, appx.) or if you happen to have a 4k TV

It won't be. The S4 has a better camera, period. The S4 Active uses the same camera as on the Galaxy S3 which is a very good camera, but not as good as that on the S4. From what I have read, they are having supply issues with the S4 camera and want to keep their supply available to build into regular S4's.

Brightness is better but the contrast ratio isn't as good and the blacks aren't as good. This is not a pure win, it's going to be subjective. AMOLED will also have better battery life.

While you're right in most of what you've said, the way you explained it would make the average user think in blanket terms. Higher megapixel count *does*, in fact, require more light to achieve the same results (in terms of stops of light). The larger the sensor, the less light needed to perfectly meter the shot...but with the same size sensor, the higher megapixel sensor will require more light. That part was not incorrect.
In terms of the actual sensor in the Active, nobody knows what it is. You can't say "it's the sensor from the S3", because not even the review sites have any idea at this point. All that we know is that the Active will have an 8MP sensor...assuming that the sensor is the same size as the one in the S4 (there's no reason not to), it potentially could take better shots. Again, that assumes they won't just switch to a smaller 8MP sensor...but if they don't then this thing could be a great camera for low-light shots, since it'll have wonderful sensor pixel density.
I agree with you on the screen. All other factors aside, I'd rather have an LCD than AMOLED. Being able to see the screen during the daytime on an AMOLED is borderline impossible. Yes, the blacks are a little brighter and the contrast is minutely lower...but AMOLED also has its own share of negatives -- the primary being that the saturation is blown through the roof on most of them, completely destroying color balance and realism in pictures.
To the last point...the biggest thing about this phone is that you just don't have to worry about it as much. While most phones today could be used in the rain without issue (seriously...devices today are made to be pretty resilient on their own), this thing could be used in a downpour. It's less important for when you're actually talking on it and more so when it might be in your pocket and it's being covered in water. With a waterproof device, getting caught in a rainstorm isn't as big a deal because the phone won't have a problem with it. That's *HUGE*.
As long as the screen doesn't look like the one on the xperia z from the waterproofing...

i planned to wait for the release of the gs4 active, because the original gs4 proved to be very fragile.

What will make you upgrade to Note 3?

Okay, okay, I know we have only seen rumors so far on the note 3. But for the first time, a new phone release is right down the pipeline, and I just don't see what is going to make me upgrade. Mind you, this is coming from a phone junkie who in the last year has had the following devices(galaxy nexus, iphone 4s, galaxy s3, iphone 5, note 2).
I was just curious, what does Samsung actually have to do with the note 3 to make you give up the note 2.
For me it will be a better screen. As much as I love my Note2, it SUCKS shweddy balls trying to see the screen in sunlight. Also, I'd like to see what they're doing with the camera/sensor. I no longer lug my dedicated camera around when I go around town because the photos from the Note2 are very nice, but can be improved upon. I've heard it will have 3GB of Ram....so that's another plus.
-IR sensor
-dedicated camera button
-better screen that is visible under bright lighting

YES! Dedicated Camera Button! I do miss that from my Motorola Days!
very true. IR, screen and camera would be nice. If those features are make or break for you then I totally understand the upgrade. It just seems to me that for the 200+ upgrade cost those features would be such a minor upgrade.
Not to mention there most likely won't be a Zerolemon battery for a little while.
If the new camera had some impressive low light capabilities, and maybe some nice front facing speakers on top of the features you both mentioned I might be able to justify it.
It just needs to come out for me to buy it.
Sent from my note 2 ya bish!
The main thing will be NOT getting shafted by Verizon again.
I want nfc and wireless charging.
Also, a screen that is easier to read in sunlight would be very nice (say what you will about PenTile displays, it is just plain beautiful how well they work in direct sunlight).
I don't want it to be over 6". At 5.5", the Note2 is already about as large as I can comfortably (and safely) carry while on the go. I might go for a 5.7" device, but 6" might actually be too much.
Other than that, I think the Note2 is about as close to perfect as a phone can get. Additional sensors would be cool though, bring us ever closer to a tricorder.

Right, but knowing Verizon and its track record...they're going to cram it full of bloat and disable stuff

NFC is present in the Note2 but Wireless Charging would be awesome. I had the HTC DNA for a few days and loved just laying my phone on the charging pad...had one in the kitchen and one at my desk.

Maybe the Phone dimensions will stay close to what they are now....a thinner bezel could help and ramp the screen size up while the phone won't get much larger. I think it may get a tad longer but not wider.

The camera button would be nice, but what would be REALLY awesome is if I could USE THE F&%$ING STYLUS ON THE DAMNED BUTTONS!
Sorry... that drives me insane lol
The unbreakable screen that was rumored a while back would be nice as well

Why front facing speakers isnt standard on all phones; ill never know.
better build quality; i hate that my phone squeaks when i touch it.
s-note being much faster to load stuff.
moe bass.
6" screen; come ON. i wa sso depressed when all the rumors point to a 5.7"...=(
It depends on which of the three screen sizes Verizon is getting and how it is linked to the quality of the device. I would prefer a larger screen then I have now with 1080P. Wireless charging is preferred but I do not expect it. A custom ROM will take care of the bloatware.
1080p, brighter display, optical zoom and image stabilization, bigger battery, bigger screen, IR, front facing speakers, QI, back notification LED, projector.

I believe you can do that with the Note 8.0, so I'd be beyond shocked if the Note 3 doesn't include that functionality.
For me, the major thing that would make me want to upgrade is big improvements on the camera front.

I doubt most of that will be included, but it's all been in phones before besides optical zoom. 3x optical zoom has been rumored for this device.

A release date.
1. Be able to jump past Verizon's inevitable BS
2. USB DAC support for Fiio E17 (already works in Android 4.2+ anyways)
3. Wolfson audio chip
4. a.) Exynos based SoC (so none of the fragmented developer support where international versions get most of the love)
b.) Snapdragon-based SoC wouldn't have Wolfson audio, either.
5. 1080p RGB-striped display
6. Will somebody besides CM team integrate the "empty app-mounted directories" fix into the ROMs?
We were lucky with the Note 2. The hardware is the same as the international variants. RGB-striped display and Wolfson audio. Android 4.1.2 doesn't have the completely broke app-mounted directories issue so I can run CIFS. We have the lowest possible unlock thanks to Adam and others.
The Fiio E17 doesn't natively work without the USB Audio Recorder Pro app, but that isn't as big of a deal since the Note II already has the Wolfson DAC.
Camera is huge. If it's better I may bite. The N2 camera is good but man it could be much better.

Anyone here upgrade fron the note 2?

Im thinking of using the new easy pay program to get a note 3 but other than the extra gig of ram i dont see much of a spec bump. Is it worth it??

At first, I didn't think so either. Then I played with one, held it, saw the screen... I read the specs again...
Full disclosure: I upgrade a new device once a year, usually at full price. Because I can, and it's my "hobby" that I allow myself a good expenditure on. (and being a father means that I don't get many of those.)
The cpu/gpu is a fantastic combo, slick as deer snot on a doorknob. This thing never stutters on anything. The extra gig of ram really is a contributing factor here.
I still own my Note2, and just for fun I compare screens. World of difference. No joke.
In all, there are a bunch of small things, changes that make this an overall superior device. Everything from the specs to the design to the pen to sensors...
That being said, the Note2 is an awesome device, will be functional for quite some time, it is/was a powerhouse.
And the dev section over at the note2 forum is Filled with awesome. We're (at this point) a smaller community, but several respected and proven devs.
If the cost is a real life concern, hold off. You don't "need" the Note3. But believe me, you want it.
Sent from my calculator watch.
I had the n3 and s4 previously. N3 has bigger 1080p screen, more ram, more internal memory(32gb), faster processor...it is worth it IMO.
I upgraded from the note 2 to the note 3, it's everything to note 2 should have been. Plainly put, it's just better. Any of the tiny bit of lag you had a note 2 is non existant on the note 3. If you're in the market for one, don't hold back. Then, by the time the note 4 comes out, you can get one for a subsidized price.

I upgraded from note 2 to note 3 (put the note 2 on my boost account gave my pop y boost s3)
the reasons I upgraded
More internal memory. faster 1080p panel! larger screen. improved pen
and the big one for me. 4k video record.
besides the 4k video record I consider the camera to be a downgrade and its very annoying. pictures don't "seem" as clear on close inspection (nicely lit pictures are fine) poorer low light performance and the big one for me. lower dynamic range which is a real problem in high contrast lighting situations (such as backlit by the sun etc..)
not enough to make me hate it but enough to miss my Note 2. (I take a LOT of pictures when both)
not enough to make me regret the upgrade. its overall much better in every other way. good upgrade.

Have you guys dug around in the settings menu? I know a little about photography (I use my DSLR for anything serious), but if you select some of the picture profiles and turn off digital image stabilization, have a look at the EXIF info. The low light shots can be slightly improved, and the aggressive noise adjustments the jpg engine uses can be tamed to some extent. It's a very good sensor, let down by some ham-fisted software after it comes off the sensor. It's not ideal, but it can be remedied to some extent.
The two scenarios that the software likes to aggressively tackle are low light and strong lighting contrasts. Samsung could fix this, and I'm surprised they haven't, as some of their digital cameras produce very good jpg and raw files.

The note 3 also has a newer CPU and GPU than the note 2, and the note 3's clock speed is up to 2.23ghz. The note 2 is at 1.7ghz I think. Plus the larger screen, better S Pen, newest hardware, high clock speeds, and I read that the note 3 scored 16,000 points higher in Antuntu (I think that's how it's spelled) than the HTC One Max. It's pure awesomeness, lol...

Are you getting one?

It's pretty clear that the Galaxy Alpha is not being positioned "above" the Galaxy S 5...it's just different. It's smaller, much thinner, but has a lower resolution display (720p vs 1080p) and a smaller battery (1860mAh vs 2800mAh).
So who is this phone for? Would you consider it over the Galaxy S 5, or even the Nexus 5/HTC One M8 for that matter?
Sound off! :victory:
Nope although I love that form factor it lacks some of essential features such as full HD and SD card support.
Also I think the price tag is way too high for the mentioned features.
The mentioned one's aren't alternatives I'll be waiting for the g3 with the snap Dragon 805 maybe they are going to release a smaller one too
The phone is for iPhone users coming over from Apple and direct compression for the z1 compact.
I personally think this is the best looking Samsung phone ever and I want it baaaaadddddd, I know the 720p screen and tiny battery are major drawbacks for most people but I can deal with it, I am by no means a power user. I just think its a great looking powerful phone that's perfect for me I just really hope it has some sort of development here

"B***h, please", you tell those "most people". I challenge your eyes to see single pixels with pixel density above 300 ppi. Also, the less pixels to push around = the GPU has it easier = it's easier on the battery... and battery is STILL bigger than any iPhone battery to date. And with the coming of L, battery life is expected to rise even more.

Considering this is using the Exynos 5430 using 20nm, it should have have battery life between the 801 and 805 if it was 1080p/1440p. if it's only 720p This device will last more than a day easily.
For that reason alone I'll be picking it up. and the fact I hate QHD on phones.
I would get one only if i dont have to throw a extra penny on xchange wid my 1month old nexus 5...
Comparing it to nexus 5
Pros
Slimmer
Metallic body
Better camera
Touchwiz ui (lol pro??)
Better gpu (yes its btr than a330)
Better battery (newer 20nm )
Cons
Touchwiz
Not full hd (i don't give a **** as i find display of 720p grand 2 to be same as that of my n5 wid naked eyes)
Expect late updates and poorer custom rom support.
I would make the sacrifice wid my n5 only if L doesnt makes it a overkill
Considering @svetius ' interest in alpha i guess he would get one tooo...

Ummm... me. I'm trim and of average height, not tall or big-boned, etc. I don't have huge hands. I wear 501s much of the time. The S5, G3 and One M8 are a bit too large for my pocket and for one-handed use. A phone is like a sidearm; while the zealots always want bigger and more powerful, if it's inconvenient to carry or use, and so you don't, it's no good even compared to an old flip phone.
But... the Alpha lacks a microSD slot, so it actually fails my requirements. Don't tell me you're selling me a Porsche - small, powerful, expensive - and then cut out the top gear. Charge me another $100 and put in the top gear, and call it a Porsche Xtreme or something silly like that.
As per a report it costs $689 dollars...
Plz throw it in the dustbin ...i am happy wid my sexy nexy...:silly:
I'm interested in getting it. The lack of a microSD card slot (and the price, too, I guess) is a bit of a bummer but who knows...

Yes. I am in a similar situation -I am what you would call a Power User and need the Phone and nice
Camera for Business but am athletic, active and need the smaller form factor.
I want an Alpha Pro which is thicker with a larger Battery and Larger Camera Sensor like Note 4 ,SD Card for $ 100 more.
Alpha is a fashionable Device.
Alpha Pro would be for Note 4 types who don't want a huge phone.
The "Thinness Race" is surprising to me - I would MUCH prefer a thicker phone with SD Card and larger Battery and less breakable.
This size about 5.2" Tall with 4.7"
screen is perfect for me- and this Camera will be very good for Interior Designers , Real Estate Pros, Artists etc. not replacing a DSLR, but very useful.
Larger screens to me are impractical to carry and more likely to break, but I love the power of a Laptop in my pocket.
The Alpha is close.
The Sony Z3 Compact is close.
I prefer a removable Battery.
If Devs can create an APP that allows direct Storage to USB Stick ,
I could live without SD Card.
Two to Five Millimeters thicker and the Alpha Pro could be the Flagship Compact.
Remember you put a Rigid Case on a 5.6" Tall S5 and it's large and still fragile.
Put a rigid case on the Alpha and it's still pocket sized and less likely to break .
I don't know why it needs to be only 6.7 mm thick and 4 ounces-lol.
Give me the thicker Alpha Pro- a Device I am making up in the hopes it happens....
720p on 4.7" is decent. Even iPhone 6 doesn't have 1080p on their 4.7".
Hmmm I'm divided! I just had the S5 mini for a few days, and the screen on that one is bad. I meen the 720p resolution just doesn't cut it! Even thou the screen is small. It's just as bad as the S4 Mini. You can't read small fonts or read Web pages without zooming.
Soooo....... Does the Alpha has the same problem? I would guess. Even bigger screen with the same resolution. I hope I'm wrong and that Samsung just used a sub par display in the S5 mini. But I'm sceptical of course.
Also not sure if I want to live without the brilliance of a IR blaster in my phone. I use it everyday.
And then finally there is the potential issue about the battery size. Maybe it will be fine, if Sammy has optimized the Alphas HW correct.
So bottom line, I really want to get one, but I'm not to sure! LOOOOOOVE the esthetics!
Should be getting mine this coming Saturday, but stuck deciding what colour to go for...

I get what your saying I thought about it too, but something draws me to this device it just looks good and I think its a combination of the thinness and metal frame, anything thicker here I think would detract from its appeal. As long as I can get from 5am to 11pm with some juice left if I need it im happy
No but I would have if a) I was an at&t customer rather than t-mobile customer (for an on-contract deal) or b) it wasn't $192 more to import than the Xperia Z3 Compact. Who knows, if their resale values converge, I may end up having a green Alpha.
I like the style of the phone and hope Samsung uses this as the inspiration for all of their android devices over the next 6 months. I hope the phone sells well as the future of powerful sub 5" androids depends on this and the Z3C succeeding. I really look forward to seeing a January 2015 Tab Alpha 8.4 with the corners like this (and a snapdragon 810 or intel Broadwell). Similarly, I hope the Alpha sets the stage for a different direction for Samsung's phones (Android 5.0 should be more power efficient in a way that makes smaller batteries more viable).
The Alpha is coming to AT&T this Friday
The Alpha is coming to AT&T this Friday ,
And I'm getting one. I'm looking forward to the form factor, but I especially like, that it is not as huge as most phones out there and still has decent specs. I really wish I could have it all. Until then, I'm looking to have a new toy.
In my eyes, The Galaxy Alpha is Samsung’s most beautiful phone ever. Much more beautiful than the galaxy s5, but the size of its 1,860mAh battery worries me. In conclusion, I will choose the HTC M8 as my next flagship phone.
I sold my S5 for the Alpha a couple of days ago and don't regret it at all! It's a small and very powerful phone and probably one of Samsung's better in many years IMO ☺
