[Q] Applying official ICS UI to Samsung Galaxy Official ICS ROM - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone,
I'm really sorry if this has been posted out there someone, but I did search and I did not find what I was looking for, as this is recent.
So, I've flashed Samsungs latest ICS official ROM, but I really hate the TW UI. Is there anyway I can apply the UI of the official ICS ?
I'm not refering to launchers skins, as they do not to a total makeover like the menu's, diallers, and such.
I do not want to flash another rom since I don't want to delete anything.
If so, to what do I point to ? Mod's or theme's ?
Thanks in advance

Asked and answered your own question.
If you don't want to flash a new ROM, you will have to apply a new Theme.

Thanks ctomgee,
I know this is really noob, but I don't know the difference between a Mod or a theme or which is which..
And since I was having doubts and I do not want another ROM, I thought It would be wise to ask.
Thanks !

Mod is short for modification. (duh) Refers to anything that is changed from stock, really.
Theme (which technically is also a mod) refers to a whole set of framework, icon, color, and graphic changes. For example, there are themes out there that just change all the icons, etc. on Gingerbread, to look like ICS, without actually having ICS.
Of course, a theme still won't change your launcher... so you'll still have the TW launcher. Unless you install a third party launcher, like LauncherPro, GoLauncher, ADW, or other.

[Q] new to vanilla roms :S

hi everyone!
i have some doubts about vanilla (froydvillain) vs sense. i recently rooted my hero and flashed a recovery, but i'm using stock 2.1 rom... so here you have some questions: (sorry if they are epically stupid LOL)
1. does 2.2 vanilla has flash lite in the browser... for example, when you go to a site in my current rom (2.1 official) you can see the flash animations etc., is it possible on vanilla?
2. does froydvillain support live wallpapers? (i know that they are useless but i love eye candy xP)
3. is there any app that has multi touch in sense and in vanilla doesn't?
4. will the lack of sense, in your opinion, be negatively noticeable? like the dialer, gallery, etc. if yes, are there any third party apps to compensate?
5. finally, what kernel should i choose?

1. No
2. Yes, subject to the usual limitations of the hero hardware regarding 3D wallpapers
3. Not that I know of
4. Not really to me, try nubdialer which should be in the rom, or dialer one. The gallery is a nuisance, but there are recommendations in the thread.
5. I would honestly use the stock one (ie. don't flash any one afterwards), as the ROM is sufficiently fast with no overclock to beat most phones with overclock (in terms of daily use)
thank you for the quick reply! i was going to ask about flashing the kernel but since you said it is not necessary i'll just forget it... about the gallery i'll just google it, about flash lite if i really really miss it i'll just go back to 2.1 rom... xD
well, thank you again!
i'm sorry for posting again, but at the download page are various links, one for the rom and a bunch for the kernels, my question is, do i have to download any kernel or is it "included" in the rom link? i know it is a noob question but it got me confused since at the list of kernels is the "normal" one (576mhz)...

I am using FroydVillian 1.5, it is super fast, stable and the looks are amazing. I do not miss the sunse UI at all, I miss the widgets, but they just use up performance anyway. I flashed the 576 kernel, which was a lower version number than the one that came with it...but as of right now, I have had FV 1.4 and liked it enough to get FV1.5. I have cycled through many roms, and these are the best in my opinion for everyday use...

If you're looking for stock ROM themes you will be severely limited. Your best plan would be to apply a stock, deodexed ROM with significant user interest/support. That way you can keep the stock performance and apply whatever theme you like. Make sure to note your version of the ROM and the version that the theme is compatible with. For ease of use I use CheckRom, it is stable, up to date and with the built in Kitchen App it lets you apply multiple mods/kernels/themes all with a nice gui and with the assurance that it is definitely compatible.
Stock Rom Themes Android market best source i guess .

[Q] Stock Samsung Theme on Custom Rom

Hello,
I'm new to XDA and to the android world and just bought a Samsung Galaxy Ace,
I did a little searching and discovered rooting and custom roms and installed one or two to check them out.
But one thing that i really didn't like was that i wasn't able to put the default samsung theme,
I'm unaware if any rom has the default theme installed, and if anyone knows that would be great and if not how can i get it ? (I mean with defult icons and everything).
Thanks in advance
Use Blackhawk Rom or Gingerreal 2.0
If you are using CM7 you can use this theme. If you want the same launcher like Touchwiz you have just to use this. It will look like the original Touchwiz, instead of the statusbar. There will be other control panel, but the battery icon etc. is like Touchwiz.
Thanks for your answers but is Gingerreal very stable ?
I'm seeing negative comments on the topic and i can't really find the Blackhawk rom.

There isn't one to be found and gingerreal dosen't seem to be stable

Stock Theme templates (4.2.1 and 4.2.2)

These are Theme templates for the people that like to change things up without haveing to flash a whole ROM.
They only contain the app, font, and framework folders for the system. AGAIN THIS IS NOT A ROM.
You can use this for a couple of diffrent things:
1. dodex a stock rom
2. return a themed rom back to stock deodexed
3. Create your own theme w/o building a whole ROM.
Have fun and happy themeing
YES, i know things like this are kind of outdated but i'm set in my ways and still use them. So, if you use them, please hit the thanks button.

[Q] Any TW ROM's with AOSP UI?

Hey folks, I'm flashing a new ROM on my buddies S5 tomorrow. He's going from an original release of OMEGA, to the latest Alliance.
But I'd really like to find him a touch wiz ROM that has an AOSP UI like the one in my signature has for the Note 3.
You can use AOSP xposed mods on it, like GravityBox. And some of his favorite theming options depend on AOSP.
But as we all know, the real AOSP ROM's aren't doing so well yet.
I'm not asking for the best ROM, so please don't close the thread.
But since I don't have an S5 and can't go flashing willy-nilly, I do need help in the form of some pointers to a few ROM's that have AOSP UI options. Thanks!

Not theme though, UI. Those are two very different things.

Oh...you mean the actual framework and system ui from aosp roms. Yeah, that's a definite no. I thought you just meant a themed rom that was made to look like stock android.
