Anyone tried this Trident Case? - HTC Rezound

Its called the KRAKEN AMS CASE, it looks super rugged, id say that it probably offers more protection then the otterbox defender. Id have no problem tossing my rezound across a room in this thing if it is as solid as it looks. Ive been looking for something that resembles the Sedio convert series case for the rezound. i loved it on my thunderbolt, id drop the thing purposfully onto cement from about 7/8ft just to show how good it was.
http://www.tridentcase.com/case/htc/htc-rezound/htc-rezound-kraken-ams-case.html
if anyone has tried it let me know your thoughts. $50 is a bit steep for me to just go and buy it.

If it comes with the holster that is not that bad.
I just ordered a Seidio Active for mine. I have the Active for my previous phone (Dinc) and have liked its protection. The new one for the Rezound without the holster (which I never use) is $20

yea it has a holster, lol what looks like a holster because its tiny, that might be a good thing now that i think of it, the only thing i didnt like about the convert case on the thunderbolt was the huge holster getting in my way all the time.

That Trident case looks bad ass!

wow it looks great. hows the kickstand? on the web it looks a bit flimsy, but in your pics it looks like its pretty good.

The kickstand is real good, its made of metal and its sturdy. It clicks into the back and stay secure when you arent using it. So far it's one of the best cases I used..I had a incipio before this one and I really like this one more, it does add some bulk though its definitely as big as the otterbox defender cases.

Thats not the same case thats why its cheaper. Its the same brand but it doesn't have the kickstand like the one in the OP.

My friend has that brand for his DX. I think it could take a bullet. Unfortunately when he has it in his pocket he looks like he is happy to see everyone though.

Trident cases are probably the strongest I've ever used on any phone. That being said, any plastic that they color will peel eventually. It's kind of annoying since the case is so amazing. And Con is right, that thing will take a damn bullet. The fact that it has most of the rubber on the outside instead of the plastic could really help the peeling issue.

I wish they made sweet cases for extended battery

I recently got an ageis model for mine, it's a brick, and feels good in the hand, except the hard plastic is slightly slippery. I messed up my screen protector when applying it, and sent trident an email. They asked for my address and are sending me out a new one free of charge. Great case, great company.

It looks like it might be able to fit the extended battery. If you mod it alittle, like cut the back part of the rubber under the plastic part and possibly leave the back door off the phone. But I haven't tried it. It does make the thickness about the same as when the extended is on it, so it might work.

Just tested out the case with the extended battery and it fits fine aslong as you leave the backdoor off. You also would need to cut a hole in the rubber for the battery to poke out. The only thing is that the area near the camera is going to be showing the inside of the phone since the backdoor would be off.

I have a Trident and its amazing. Soft silicone inside, hard durable outside. Also they look amazing and are easy to hold. Highly recommend. Love it more than any otter box I've had.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the phone will work without the back cover or at least a portion of the back cover because of the antennas.

can you take some pictures of this in pieces. and show how much it makes the phone thicker? how much heavier? is it easy to get in and out of the pocket.... I was thinking about getting the neo hybrid ex but it is a little pricey in my mind.
its extreamly easy to put in and put of pocket. . I'll take a few pics later. It feels great in the hand. I had a Neo hybrid silver one the one that had the rubber backing. This case feels lighter than that one

Is the back rubbery or real "grippy".
The otterbox commuter has mostly slick plastic on the back. I would like a little more grip on the back for my preference which is why I might try this one.

I received both the Commuter and Superleggera Pro today, so I can definitely see what you mean about the plastic shell being slippery on the Commuter. I do love it, though.
The Superleggera is almost identical to the Commuter, except the plastic shell is covered in a rubbery feeling coating. It's definitely got more grip than the Commuter shell, but I wouldn't call it "real" grippy. But in comparison, yes, it's more grippy than the Commuter. My only concern is that the rubbery coating may wear off over time, but we'll only know that once we use them for a while.
The silicone inner piece is much thicker on the Superleggera, but doesn't make the phone any bigger than the Commuter (which doesn't add much bulk at all). One nice thing I noticed...where all four corners of the phone are covered only in silicone on the Commuter, with the Superleggera only one is. The shell covers the corners on the other three, so you seem to have an extra layer of protection in that area.
A darn nice case, especially for the price and fast shipping. I still prefer that built-in port covers on the Commuter, but I'll be using both for sure.
Thanks Kentucky

Just got the case. they delivered on sunday... probably the only redeeming quality of ensenda. anyways i find the sort coating on the hard plastic tp be perfect, the weight to be fairly low and the fit to be very good. the price is outstanding.
it included two screen protectors for the int'l ver. and the top mic is... not right at all. it is in the right position left right but needs to be moved towards the back of the phone. anyways ill post some individual parts pics later on.
Well I have to say, for $9.95 + free 1 day shipping, I'm VERY happy with this purchase. Just got mine and it fits perfect. Not sure about the top mic being covered though. Does that just add to the bottom to allow better pickup for speaker phone, etc.? Which I never use.
Maybe but it serves a far more important purpose. And they is noise canceling, it uses the alternate directions to distinguish white noise and your voice

[Q] Best case for Rezound with Extended Battery?

I'm curious to know what cases are recommended for the Rezound with extended battery. I'm looking for something that will be able to protect the phone from small drops(Not that I plan on dropping my phone...). Also, what's recommended for screen protectors?
Thanks.
I have the stock OEM extended battery case and holster and the stock screen protectors on my phone they are working like a gem to protect my device. I hate to admit that my phone may have seen the wrong end of a long fall...

How is the volume rocker? I've read that the non-extended one did not work well with the Rezound.
I have no issue with the volume rocker. No better or worse than without the case.
The power-button cut-out is a bit of a pain, making it more difficult to hit power, but that's not the most horrible thing in the world.

Not sure. I've ordered the Defender. When I was searching on Amazon for a new case to check out I selected the extended battery filter and it still had the Otterbox Defender listed. So I ordered it. Should be here early next week. I'll give it a try.

I dont have the extended battery on mine, yet, so Im not sure if it does fit.
Verizon Rep gave me the Ottobox for $39.99, cheaper than best buy and their regular $50 price, but not as cheap as amazon....Not sure if it was a sale or if it was just a nice employee.

anyone with seidio active holster check something for me

I always need a hip holster for work. I have dropped many phones in the past.
however done like any case over it.
I was wondering whether i can use seidio holster with the naked phone.
Can someone with the seidio holster post some pics and give a small review of using the naked phone with the holster.
Thanks and appreciated.
Youd be better off with an actual belt clip case as i would think the holster for the Seidio would render the phone very loose.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
Nope, it won't work dude. The clearance on the clip extends too much past the width of the top of the naked gnote. It was built to spec to only fit the active case. Other cases might work but I'm not too sure about it.

I have one of these, but ran into a problem and went back to my Seidio case.
I'm a lefty, and keep the phone on the left side. Getting in and out of my Mustang, I constantly knock the phone out of the case.
I loved the case, very thin, no bulk, tried it on my right side but couldn't get use to it there, felt strange. At least it was only 10 bucks. If you carry the phone on the right side, or don't have to crawl in and out of a low profile car, it's a fantastic case/clip for the money.
As promised here's some pics dude.
After a closer look with the naked gnote inside the holster, there's too much clearance everywhere that it might be more trouble than its worth to mod it.

I don't understand how you could "knock the phone out of the case" when it's really snug fit ??
( takes a bit of effort for me to slide the phone out of holster and case ...etc )
also... with the scenario that you have mentioned... I find that by turning the holster sideways really help
This is my solution for the time being.

Rocketfish tpu case review

i don't know if anyone has mentioned this case before but i just picked one up since i saw it at my local bestbuy and i have to say, im loving this case. It looks good, doesn't rise above the screen very much at all. the smoke color kinda blends with the phone, there is a cutout for the kickstand and its easy to pop the stand out, all of the buttons are covered, and this thing fits TIGHT, it was pretty hard to get on but this thing is never gonna fall off and its good because unlike other cases, the part of the case on the sides of the screen don't flare out when your finger brushes them unlike a lot of other cases ive seen (not on this phone). one thing to mentions is that it does cover the camera button and from what i hear, other cases make it hard to use the 2 stages on the hardware button. this isn't that case with this case, i find it very easy to feel the camera buttons 2 stages so don't worry about that if you were concerned about it. overall 9 out of 10 for this case, only gripe being that it was kinda expensive for a tpu case.
will post pictures later once i get my old evo 4g back up an running after my sdcard transferring and whatnot i did yesterday since i just got this phone last night

I also picked up this case last week at Best Buy. I wasn't expecting to pick up a case, the cute BB girl showed me the case and put it on. I instantly fell in love... with the case. Sprint sent me the blue case protector. I liked the Sprint case, but it was too sticky. It was very difficult to get it in and out of my pocket, I also didn't like the color. I love this case because it's black, keeps the phone slim, and it is easy to get in and out of my pocket. I love it!

I first bought the Platinum case at Best Buy and guess what the camera button does not work at all with the case on and furthermore the holster it comes with either turns the phone off or the volume all the way down depending on which way you put it in. I also put an Otterbox Defender case on my EVO 4g LTE in a Radioshack store and it is just to bulky. I bought the rocketfish and also thought it was pricy myself for what it was. However I really like it because it cover all of the buttons yet they all still work properly and the mics, kickstand, headphone jack and micro USB have openings that work well. The case looks awesome and does not.add to much thickness at all to the phone which leaves me with the only downfall of.the case it does not stick out far enough to keep the camera lense off a table. I may have to order a otterbox commuter after all but the rocketfish was really only supposed to be temporary anyway. I would recommend it though if youvcan rememberot not to lay it on the camera.

I just took a closer look and the glass for what is actually the lense cover and not the actual camera lense is actually recessed so if you lay the EVO on it's back it will only sit on the metal ring around the glass. I probably would not even do that much depending on what type of surface I am sitting it on. I read another guys review about three other you cases and he complained about the openings on two of them where as the rocketfish does not have these openings. It is a suprisingly good case. I usually do not buy Store brand items but I may actually use this thing for a while I think. I would go as far as saying there is probably not a better TPU case out right now for the Ltevo.

HTC Rezound Otterbox Defender Series

I'm new to this forum, but experienced on others. So, here I go.
I bought the Otterbox Defender Series case for my HTC Rezound not too long ago, off of htcpedia.com for a somewhat discounted price. At the time I bought my phone I bought the Verizon 2750mAh extended battery as well, and the Defender seemed to be the only case I was really interested in getting that covered the bigger battery. So far, I've loved the protection, the durability, and the ease of changing between the regular battery and extended battery, as well as getting it on and off quickly.
My question in starting this post is, do you like it?
I find it quite bulky when inside pockets, and it's hard to get out once it's buried in there. It's huge, and God-awful looking some days in my opinion. But for the protection, I think it is definitely worth the money.

Have you seen the defender for the Razr? It fits so much better, I guess because of the size.
i absolutely love my defender case...i just love the feel of the phone bare more especially since i hate the plastic screen protector (i popped it off the defender case)...i ordered an ext. battery so imma have to debate if im gonna butcher the back of the battery cover and otterbox
I'm still considering getting one. Using Verizon extended battery and case atm.

If your gonna pop off the hard plastic screen protector just but the commuter edition I have it and it's very durable it goes through a lot of abuse and no damage whatsoever

How'd you fit the extended battery? By just leaving the back off or cutting? I've seen where others have done that but I wanted to get your opinion. Got my extended battery on the way, already have the defender and love it.

I had the case for a weekend and ended up selling it here because I did not like the bulk it added to the phone. I would like to add that it does protect better than any other case I have seen. I ended up going with a body glove case as I like how it goes together and slim profile. Just my 2 cents.
I've actually got this case on my Rezound, but with the mugen 4000 battery. What I did was cut down the standard cover and the otterbox cover so that I have a case that fits quite well with no detectable deformities (like you can do if you use the extended back without the otterbox back). My signal strength is also unchanged in this configuration.

Could you show the inside. I'd like to get a better idea on how you got it to work. That's awesome.

How do you keep that from falling out?
I just got this case a weak ago. I'm currently using the extended OEM battery with it to do this i haven't cut (yet) but instead am just not using the backing it came with. Personally I like it better without the plastic back because it makes noises for some reason. The phone fits fine in the holster except if you want to put the screen on the outside because that side doesn't fit. The holster is pretty amazing, made out of strong stuff and the has good features. Will definitely being using Otterbox for awhile.

I had one and my gf had one. I put them both in each front pocket. It made me look like I had thigh pads on just like those football players.
Tabbedout, I actually did the same thing minus the mugen batt and defender case. I used the reg extended and have yet to find a case this trick would work with. I guess I have my answer now. I wonder if this would work with the commuter case as well or if there isn't enough meat in the rubber part to make up the difference in the battery. To answer the other question my battery doesn't fall out because the back plate was cut to barely fit the battery. It actually overlaps a tiny bit on the top and bottom making it so ridiculously snug it would never pop out.

Exactly... My backing is cut so tight that it is actually more difficult to remove with the battery in place. It holds the battery VERY snugly
Edit:
The reason for the tight fit was, for me at least, not intentional. If you look at the inside of the rear cover you should be able to see the antenna arrays. It was in an attempt to prevent severing these that caused me to make such a tight fit, but it worked out.

Anyone have an extended battery version that they want to sell.
