[Q] Nokia Music Streaming - Nokia Lumia 800

My Lumia 800 does not have streaming music, all it contains is my music and the gig section. Is this a location problem. I am based in Australia.

It probably is a location problem.
I know on my phone, UK country variant that I imported to the US, won't allow me Mix Radio if I reset and use my actual location for the region. Also, I cannot sign into my Nokia acct in Nokia Music, or I'll lose mix radio as well.
After quite a few hard resets, I learned that I had to allow the location to default to UK, with a UK timezone and the correct UK time. I was then able to launch Mix Radio and confirm it worked. I could then change my region/timezone back to Pacific and Mix Radio didn't appear.
Why don't you give this a try and let me know if it works for anyone but me.

My issue is I dont want to hard reset to get it back. Seems stupid that I have to wipe and lose everything to get a feature working.

So by just changing your region settings, you can use Nokia's Mix Radio? What about offline music playback in Nokia Music app?

I have a Telstra branded Lumia 800 and I can acess the mix radio, mp3 store, etc. in Nokia Music.
Is the region on your phone correctly configured? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

How can you install Nokia music app? I don't think it's on Windows Phone Marketplace.
About the Nokia Music Radio Mix, it depends from country to country.
Some countries have this options, some don't.

Nokia Music is only in the Marketplace for certain regions.
I found that changing the region on my phone wasn't enough to be able to get Nokia Music to install. I had to hard reset to that region, confirm Mix Radio worked, then change to my correct region (I need the correct region for other apps to work correctly).

Mhm, I can't find it on my Marketplace.
I've flashed the 12070 firmware for Netherlands on my device and got Nokia Music back.
I can confirm I can use Offline Radio Mixes Playback by changing region settings to UK.
Nokia excluded this option in Belgium (and probably in other countries too) due licencing stuff.

[Q] Lumia region issue's

i got my lumia 800 yesterday, and i have been trying to download a few apps through the marketplace and zune.
But when trying to download spotify it tells me my region does not match the region for my windows live account.
I have a dutch and english and irish account. I have tryed all 3 and have changed my region to match my account on my lumia and my pc but with no success.
Is anyone else having the same issue???
I have a dutch Omnia 7 phone with region set to UK and my live account set to UK and Spotify worked with no problems. Not that it helps much.
Good luck.
Cheers. I have a dutch lumia aswell. But no matter what i try it will not allow me to download spotify.
I have even tryed creating a new windows live account to get it working but again zune would not let me download it

Nokia Music in Germany

are there any workarounds and tricks to get Nokia Music Mix running in Germany?
No idea yet. I'm going to try some things now. Perhaps we can do something about it. I havn't seen the app using your location so perhaps just changing the language? Or perhaps there's an extra german version of the app. No idea yet!
Hopefully someone finds a solution soon!
Has the Nokia Mix radio only launched in the UK so far?
I'm from Denmark and have bought mine through comtech.de and hoped the Nokia Mix Radio would work out of the box or will i have to wait till the official launch in Denmark Q1 12? Haven't recieved my Lumia yet, so i can't test it.
Have read that the service should be global and it has been comfirmed to come to Denmark aswell. Just thought it would atleast work in the countries that the lumia has officially luanched in?

-Deinstall Nokia Music
-Go to Settings: region+language and Change Display language and Region format to English GB then restart Phone
-Reinstall it form market or my attachment (not sure if it works if reinstalled from market)
-Start it and you will get Nokia Mix-Radio no need to login to Nokia Musik
-After that you can change to old Display language and Region format, Mix Radio will stay

[Q] Nokia Music Mix Radio

Hi
In freshly installed Lumia uk firmware in Nokia music there was Mix Radio feature. And it dissapeared just after i loged in with nokia account (it is not registered in UK). Maybe someone knows hot to get back Mix Radio? Reinstalling or loging in with Nokia account that is from uk or changing locale to uk doesnt help. Any ideas?

Mine did, too, when I logged in with my old Nokia/OviSuite account. Later that day, it showed up again and now works fine.
It disappeared in my Lumia too after I perfomrd a hard reset.
Yep, same here, it disappeared after a hard reset.
The whole Nokia Music feature is missing for me. Is there any way to get it?
If you are unlocked you can search for nokia music xap

The older NOKIA mUSic version 1.6.0.0 had the radio feature inbuilt without location restrictions, but was withdrawn from later versions!

[Q] Lumia 800 Mango built-in check-in function doesn't work

I've got Lumia 800 with 12070 firmware. Using Polish language.
When I try to use built-in Facebook check-in function it always shows that no places have been found.
I can add a new place. But I have to use a new name, because if I use the same name as existing (but not visible to me!) it shows that "place can not be added at this time". Once added I cannot see it. And I cannot check-in. And I cannot add the same place again.
Everything works OK. when using Facebook App, not built-in check-in function. Added places are visible.
Anyone has the same? Hard-reset didn't help.
It works fine for me. However, I noticed that sometimes, it takes quite a lot of time for the places to show up...
Try to use the search function for places and see if anything comes up. Look for the city your currently in - if that doesn't work, try an update. I am currently running 12072, had 12070 only for a short time.
Just upgraded to 12072. Still doesn't work for me.
Results (I mean - no results) are almost immediate. It shows empty list in less than 1 second. I have no problems with checking-in when using old HTC 7 Pro...
That's pretty weird then. I suppose you have enabled locations in the phone settings? The guys behind the Facebook app (aka Microsoft themselves) have the tools to circumvent these settings, so it might even work there if it's turned off (I hope it doesn't, but you never know). Otherwise, I'm pretty much out of ideas.
Two devices, same place, same SIM.
Lumia 800 Polish, unbranded - nothing found.
HTC 7 Pro English, unbranded - place found, checked-in without problems.
When using Facebook App - found on both devices without problems.
I'll check once again with Lumia 800 switched to English.
Weird. Really weird...
OK. Partially solved.
When changed language on my Lumia 800 to English (US) - built-in check-in works well. Tried few times and it seems that display language is a problem. It stops working just after change to Polish (and reboot of course). Works again after change to English (US).
Anyone got it working in other language than English (US)?
Is it Polish only issue or Lumia-Polish only issue?
My phone language is set to Swedish and I get a list of places nearby.

In regards to your first point; You can view the frequencies that are being used by the phone online (I usually use GSM arena or just a google search) and then compare them with your countries bands (also a quick google away). I am Australian and searched on my carriers website and they had a map showing where their coverage was in terms of each band. So I was able to work out that getting the phone would be fine for me for my daily life but when I leave that and go on a day trip or something I can sometimes get 1 bars in some places. (This is regarding my last phone by the way (mate 8))

that's what I used to do.. but I'm too lazy for that now - I just use kimovil
hmm, strangely I can't find the chinese version there.. it does have the chinese mate x 20 though
basically there is no limitation of software , including all the services of Google, Only thing that can not work is Google Maps Timeline, dont know why , it just cant work on the chinese version of phone
but there is a lot of limitation of software on the global version, huawei messaging app, huawei travel assitance, huawei voice assistant, etc
,
Google feed might not be available too.
My worry would be getting a faulty "green" screen and would need to return it, unless the manufacturer honours the warranty regardless where purchased? I had to exchange mine due to faulty lg screen, but it was an over the counter exchange by 3 UK, whom I bought it from. Luckily got a boe screen and it's fine.
google works fine with my chinese m20p..only issue was no no group message from system app, calendar not linking with system app.
HW Chinese model has some notifications delay problem but it get OS update much earlier/faster than international version and call recording feature

you can install google play store from the huawei store included on the phone - at least some people said that, as well I tried to find it on a phone in the huawei (physical) store (in china) and it had play available for install within the huawei app store. I have no idea about google services, I'm sure someone in this thread must have written about it.

Does "OK google" work well with your chinese m20pro? I also have a chinese one , tried but cannot enable google assistant voice match, it just greyed out.
I have the Mate 20 Pro Chinese Version, and Wifi calling for example is not included there.
