keep AT&T note or go international - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

i currently have the AT&T LTE version of the note
and someone is trying to trade with me for their international version (they have t-mobile) and i'm currently stuck at a crossroads,
i do love the home button on the international and the development they have going on in their forum. However, i feel like development here will start to pick up also (running saurom with holo kernal) i live in San Francisco where LTE is pretty strong for me but the exynos processor does also sound nice. So this is my dilemma, any advice would be appreciated!
Note: yes i did search the forum and have read all the posts regarding at&t vs international but they all go back and forth without solid opinions =/ that is perhaps why i'm stuck right now lol.

That up to u. U need to weigh the pros and cons. Warranty alone will keep me with att and I love my LTE!

thats one of the cons against the international on my list right now, the lack of warranty ):

I thought about doing the same. I'm just gonna stick with my AT&T version. Pros and cons with both. But also remember if you ever wanna sell it and get most of your dough back, you'll get more for the AT&T version being its LTE. Especially if you have LTE in your area.
That's big for me being I always get the latest and greatest.

I guess it depends, some people maybe won't feel comfortable with a international one for some reason. I guess it depends.

well, if you don't care about LTE then go for international, if you care about LTE then stick with it.
i think Lte is important to me since i am in LTE area and using a relay video service for deaf people to communicate. i know its a little lags if its stock but i am waiting for ICS ROM.
its just a month and more developments may come in few weeks or so.
sorry for my bad english.

I didn't think deciding would be this hard.. my lte service is hit or miss in some areas so i lean towards the international but the gut wrenching feeling of flashing roms without Samsung warranty pushes me towards at&t

Note
I say stick with the note, but that's really a question only you should decide.

I have the internation note and love it.u get abot 8mbps down and 1mbps up.thats not too bad.it looks lot better then att version and also it comes with 2 year warranty.if u have any friends oversees buy it.because u can change the csc anytime and get it fixed from any country.

The international one fetches more because people outside of the US can use it as well. It is the same with Verizon phones.. they sell for less because you can only use them on Verizon.

True, true. However the way i was looking at it is alot of cities are starting to get ATT's LTE. So he would have no problem getting top dollar for a newer LTE phone on Ebay, Craigslist etc. People over by me have them listed at $600 or more even ive seen. I have actually seen the International version on craigslist for cheaper, around me at least. I seen a guy today selling a few week old international Galaxy Nexus for $250 .
I guess it just depends where you are and if your area supports LTE. Than obviously the 4G note would get top dollar.

Hey if u don't do it I'm willing to trade him my ATT one for he international version.

Heck, I had a hard time trying to find a white AT&T Note for my Dark Blue Int but it's understandable. While I love my Int Note which will go to my mom once I get my AT&T Note from a seller on this board. LTE in my area is hard to past up which is the reason why I went to a White AT&T Note.

yes sorry WCDMA , and they only give me 137.80 for it :/ not enough for a used galaxy.
I'm confused what the GSM galaxy nexus will offer over the GS II. Don't they both use the same HSPA+ / WCDMA frequencies, if you get the GSM version?
Regardless I think you will be extremely lucky if you can find a way to swap a Galaxy S II for a Galaxy Nexus. If you ever do find a way that by some miracle gets you a GSM Galaxy Nexus for a i777 straight over, do let us know.

I don't have a CDMA network to use the phone right now its just sitting there. I have verizon thus my need for a GSM phone. I know it does but with the new restrictions I cannot post or even look at the forum :/
I think your confused. You cant use any GSM phone on Verizon. Unless maybe its unlocked? Verizon is CDMA. Along with Sprint. GSM can be used with ATT and T Mobile. i777 is for ATT. Unless you have the International version i9100. Then you should be able to put a T Mobile sim in it.

Yes, you need a CDMA/LTE Galaxy Nexus for Verizon. The i777 will not work on Verizon.
None of AT&T's LTE phones will work on Verizon, even if unlocked. What AT&T calls 4G that isn't LTE, their HSPA+, is also referred to as WCDMA, plus their 3G is called WCDMA, but its not CDMA like Verizon or Sprint. If that wasn't confusing enough both AT&T and Verizon use 700 MHz LTE, but they are not using the same section of the 700 range so they are not interoperable. Unlike EDGE (2G) that is interopeable on AT&T vs T-Mobile. And some regions of AT&T and T-Mobile use the same 3G frequencies, so some 3G phones have limited functionality on both GSM networks.
Basic rule of thumb, for best results get a phone specifically made for your carrier.

Will you be buying an international version or an US version?

I'm in a dilemma in whether if I should buy the international version with the superior performing Exynos, or the US version with Snapdragon S4 with LTE. Although I've heard that one cannot really notice the performance difference in every day uses, I would like to go for the device with the best compatibility with the biggest development community. Please vote on which one would you be consider getting, as of now before either devices are released.
Please do NOT call yourself a developer unless you are capable of creating low level releases such as kernels and ROM. App developers and people who thinks they knows a lot about technology doesn't count.
its a little too soon to tell. i am still not totally convinced that the us is going to be stuck with the krait. att for one might work it with the exynos (you should change the tegra3 before you get pounced)... that is of course if the rumors are true that bell canada is gonna do lte with the quad.
personally i dont need lte and it is doubtful that att will have lte in nashville before my yearly upgrade. so i definitely want the quad core chip that samsung designed the phone around vs the krait that wasnt.

USA version chimes with exynos. It's the same that Rogers is getting. Atleast Att will get it.

will Samsung sell the unlocked version here in the USA?
International for me no brainer. It will already be unlocked, will get the most developers and Cyanogenmod soonest, generally better resale value (of course, I don't get the subsidies, but I don't have to sign a contract either).
I won't feel too bad if I found out the American version with S4 chip would be faster or at least have better battery life.

nope. the carriers will not allow it. there is always amazon and ebay.
International version is not an option for me (no GSM coverage) so I have to wait for Sprint/Verizon to launch it. I am not happy about that
International version - I live in Europe...
I'm upset though that I'll have to wait a bit longer for the 32GB version as it won't be available in my country right away (or it will be overpriced)

International doesn't mean it's for a country other than your own, it means that it's for multiple countries.
Thus, it's the international.

Own EVO LTE want sgs3 can't decide international or us version ?

Just want honest opinion don't care about price or weather I have LTE on it I have the EVO LTE but also want the s3 .
Issue is I really don't want another contract with sprint .
So I'm leaning to the interational one its my first int device and like the community but the two gigs ram is attractive
Thanks people

since u were nice enough to pm, i'll answer and I think u should do the US version, it's gonna have the dual core which outshines the current quad cores, plus you would have working LTE here instead a slower data, assuming you live in the states, and witht he 2gb of ram, can't really see a reason to go international...
I'm in the same boat but you need to factor in faster dev support on the int compared to the US. If you're a constant flasher like myself, its a hard decision to make.
Here are my pros (YMMV)
Int:
Quad Core
Better GPU
32/64gb int storage (I believe there are 32gb flavors out there)
faster dev support
US:
LTE
2GB
cheaper (i believe full retail is 549.99 or 599.99, correct me if I'm wrong)
I'm in Canada and decided to go LTE because it should still be able to work in Europe when I go. But it has better hardware.
The downside to the international in NA you will be stuck on the EDGE/CDMA network, which is a major downside.

Well at the time the off contract was not available yet it is but thinking its near impossible to get a good price if u want to sell a us version phone without taking a huge hit eg if I want to sell after 14 days yea I can put it at its close to full price but cutting contract is a major drop many more people in my experience buy unlocked devices myself included I'm hating sprint service over all on the lte and epic touch is horrid in the new England area .
I got both cause I will let my gf use the us one maybe lol but as of now I'd rather play with the over clocking and roms in the international forums .
Dev support should be great but as u see in the us sgs2 we are still using repacked stock kernels ..
To many politics over here thus why people say the int version will have more support .. I'm not sure that's true I mean numbers don't lie us and Canada are gonna be big on the dev scene but updates and proper source plague us in the us

Carrier difference in S3

I currently have the Galaxy II on Sprint. Looking to get the Galaxy III and also possibly changing services. I know Samsung is going for a much more 'unified' release here, so hopefully accessories will be more abundant in the future. But I was wondering, if you could choose out of Sprint, AT&T, or Verizon not taking into account the cell coverage ( speed reasons are fine ( ie. differences in 4G ) ) which would you go for and why?
Is dev any faster on any of the services AT&T Vs Sprint for example, or GSM Vs CDMA? Do you really think the speeds are better on one carrier Vs. another?
Thanks, don't want to make a wrong choice here, and really want to get the device with the best support of devs and also the most 'standard' hardware as far as form factor for cases, docks, or whatever else comes down the road. I hate that SII cases are all different for all carriers.
Thanks for any info you can lend, hopefully I'll be picking up an SIII tomorrow
Verizon 4G LTE seems to be the fastest speed, but the bootloader on the VSGS3 is locked so that's kind of a big problem.
Thanks.. Yea locked bootloader is a bummer. I think I'm leaning towards AT&T right now. So is the hardware the same on the 3 carriers, like dock on attention works with sprint?

HTC One from T-Mobile USA

So now that we have seen the One become available on the other two carriers, let's post any updates on the HTC One from T-Mobile USA, as far as when and what versions become available for order, etc., as well as observations, suggestions, questions about T-Mobile specific HTC One specs, etc.
I for one would like to keep my eye on a few things to start with, so I'll kick it off:
Will T-Mobile/HTC ever actually make a One available in 64GB? (very wishful thinking).
How well does the HTC One perform with the radios that have been enabled specifically for T-Mobile's upgrading network?
If you see proof positive of T-Mobile taking orders, post it!
Thoughts on initial build quality and possible coming improvements to hold out for before ordering? (since we are the last to order these, might as well look at the bright side and hope to avoid initial build issues by not hastily ordering

I believe the HTC One 64 GB is a timed at&t exclusive. T-mobile as of now will only have the One in silver. Hopefully black will come soon for those who what it. Maybe since the iPhone launch is behind them they can announce a launch date for the One now.

No carrier has the black one as HTC doesn't have them for US initially. They are small potatoes they can't handle both colors launching at once. I hope tmobile releases end of month but I think they are pushing iPhone. I am sure in order to get iPhone from apple they committed to heavily advertising and pushing that phone at least for a while.
TMO Radio
I am wondering whether I can just order the developer one, and then just flash the TMO radio on it once that launches. There should be nothing really different between the devices. Does anybody know if I could do that?
I went to speak to a Tmo rep and he said this, The HTC One is delayed and we probably wont see it until May. Makes me very sad! I was really looking forward to it being available for the 19th! I too want the htc one in black but all i've seen is silver and the only black i've seen with hopes of being released is sprint. If you go to their homepage you will see Black coming soon! I'm not sure what to do if the Galaxy is launched before the one for tmo.. decisions, decisions.. lol
I don't really wanna pay high att prices but sometimes money don't matter when you want the ONE and u want it on the 19th..I would of gone with.the unlocked but they have done with the reframing in OK.

I am trying to think why would T-mobile not make an announcement about the one. I mean can they not handle launching another phone alongside the iphone? I don't understand. The longer they wait the more people will go to S4 initially and then if it takes longer maybe something from Google at the I/O no? I guess Tmobile doesn't care if you buy the s4 or something else as long as you are with them. More phones more customers no?
The T-Mobile phones are already made and just waiting for T-Mobile go ahead.

What does tmobile care? This weekend proved that iphones make them boat loads of money. As well as the galaxy line. Those are important. I'm hotly awaiting the one but I don't remember an HTC device that wasn't overshadowed by Samsung.

Oh trust me I want the phone on the 19th myself but I'm not going to go sign with the devil just to get it a few days earlier and pay much more over the course of 2 yrs.
