Bill to AT&T Account Option Missing - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I saw somebody had started a similar thread a week or so ago on this topic, but now I can't find it.
Anyway, as the subject box says, the option to bill to my at&t account is no longer there when purchasing apps via google play. Was wondering if anyone had a new solution or if there are others out there that still can with google play, or can't like myself.
Thank you

According to another thread, Google pulled bill to carrier function.

It disappeared for me for a few days but it's back now. I was able to buy something yesterday and bill my account. I just checked again and the option is still there.

Has anyone heard anything new about this?
I have contacted both Google and AT&T, both of who claim that there should be no problem, either with my account specifically or the system as a whole.
I only have the "Add Card" option.
I am using Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket on AT&T

I too only see the "Add Card" option. So it isn't only you.

I use the option often, and it's still there for me.
I saw the same thread the OP saw a week or so ago, and I remember thinking to myself that it could be missing if you have a custom non stock rom flashed. Would be news to me as I've had custom roms on other phones before and never had a problem. I could be wrong though as I'm definitely not a dev.

I had this option disappear on me, and I've never used a custom ROM on my Infuse. I did root the device, though.

When u use custom Rom it tends to happen but its very rare BUT clear ur market data and go into market it will ask you to log back in. That should work if not let me know

Still missing
I have been fighting this issue since Feb 21st.
I have reset my phone back to factory settings 2 or 3 times and had the sim card changed twice. Still the bill to mobile option is missing. It worked fine and showed up every time until Feb 21st of this year and nothing I do seems to fix it. Strange things is some of my coworkers have the Samsung Skyrocket and can bill to mobile with no problems. Has anyone any real info on whats going on or what the real issue is??

I need more info than that to help u. Are u rooted if so what Rom u using or are u stock?

on Sprint, you had to be a "A" customer, with a year or more of perfect payments to even have a chance of being able to bill to your carrier; if you are new to ATT, or have poor credit, it won't work for you..

My info
It is right out of the box.
I have done nothing to it other than use
as it would normally be used.
So I guess it is stock. No idea how to root a phone.

cant bill to account
same problem, rooted SGSII Skyrocket, completely stock. i used the feature a couple times, then... "poof" its gone. i read some of the replys and i missed a bill one day by mistake and im not sure if thats what did it or not but that was 5 months ago. there are no purchase blocking services on my account, but i cant be totally sure because customer service is closed, so i plan on calling in the morning to find out if there are any hidden services seeing as it is AT&T. im determined to find out why i cant bill things to my account; because i dont use credit cards its quite inconvenient if i want to purchase something. if i figure this out ill be sure to post on this thread and/or make a new one on how to hunt down the solution.

I had a similar problem but I believe it has something to do with the ROM you are currently running. I have seen the option on some roms and not in others.

Well that's the thing, my phone is completely stock except for that it's rooted. And it worked when it was rooted too because I bought "android over clock" coincidentally on February 21, the same day I believe someone mentioned the ability to bill to the account, disappeared.

Well I called att and to no avail. They where as or more clueless to my issue at hand. So I'm stuck behind a brick wall now.

Well... Just as mysteriously as it disappeared, it's back, I can now bill to myccount again. I don't have any idea why it decided to show up so I can't help anyone. I'll try to find the reasoning.

Anyone got any ideas? It's a brand new SGS2, just got it like an hour ago. I am using my girlfriend's exact same SGS2 to film this, and I plugged it in to the same USB port with the same cord and it worked fine.

If you got this from AT&T bring it back. It's defective. If you didn't get it from AT&T, you can always call 611 and have them ship out a warranty exchange. Good luck!

Hey, I just thought of something. See if your mom can call a corporate store in your area and have her give verbal authorization for you to exchange the device. You will need your driver's license. It's worth a shot. Keep me updated.

A minor annoyance, but at least you'll be able to replace it. Don't let this rare occurance discourage you. This is a great phone; the best I've owned yet, and I've had just about every phone on the market. Let me know how things worked out for you.

I agree on needing to go back. True stock having issues like that is very likely hardware.
Call the store before you go and explain the situation. Warned in advance they will probably be ok with just calling her up to get confirmation and ask the last 4 digits of her social security, if she's listed as primary account holder.

i think know what your issue is... i bet if you check your battery its not OEM and is a i9100 battery... Get a OEM battery and/or another one that has been confirmed to working with the i777 and this may fix this issue.
Same thing happens to me when i have my knock off ebay batteries in
Pop in the battery from your girlfriends phone and see if it still does it.
Looks an awful lot like the bootloop issue with i9100. I think the previous post is correct.

I swapped my battery into my GF's SGS2 and it did the same thing...looks like the battery IS the problem. Mine doesn't say "Near Field Communications" and it has a different serial # than hers. It does look OEM though.
That's pretty messed up. First I've heard of getting an international battery from an At&t store.
Kudos to joshuadjohnson22 and AntwanL for spotting that.
Sent from my páhhōniē
If it doesn't say NFC, it's an international battery and this is exactly what will happen.
How the hell you got an International battery from an AT&T store, I don't know - that's surprising... Was it an actual AT&T corporate-owned store or "mall kiosk" type third-party store?
i know some people that will go to AT&T and ask to try something on a new phone, in fact when i was getting boot loop he told me to go to AT&T and toss that battery in... maybe someone did this and decided to swap the batteries? Its the only thing i can think of

I'd call them now to have them put one to the side for you. I'd hate to make that drive and then have them be out of the phone!
We just got back from the ATT store, they replaced the phone for me. He told me it was in fact an international battery. He remembered me from last night so they didn't even have to call her to verify the account, heh.
Anyway, problem solved

Is it possible to remove this NFC battery requirement so that I can use a standard non-NFC battery?
These NFC batteries are hard to find, basically impossible to find outside of the US. I have the same issue with using the otherwise identical i9100 battery. Using the battery is fine, but once the phone is plugged into the USB it goes into the boot loop.

[Q] Wife's Phone Lost/Stolen Best Options Now?

Wife left phone unattended in a public place and someone took it. She has never even gotten a scratch on a phone before. It appears that it was turned off or sim removed. It rang a few times for her but by the time I tried "Where's My Droid" it was going to voice mail. ATT is no help and claims they can't block IMEI. She just wants to go back to her LGVu but I know she enjoyed the android. 1. any ideas on how to maybe track it/get it back? 2. Best place to get a good price on another one (used or refurbished ok)? What would be about the best price I can find? 3. I may have to JTAg my bricked Cappy for her, that's only $50. Any useful in put would be great. I know looks like we are screwed.
Thanks,

Anyway if you are looking for a replacement for AT&T, I would suggest to try SGSII: Skyrocket, it support 4G LTE. It will be faster than the current 4G H+.
I think you should wait for samsung galaxy s2 hd lte to come out, give your current phone to her, and get the new one.

Try Androidlost app from the market, I think it's probably the only app you can push to the phone after its lost and use the web interface to do a host of things like remotely locking and wipe SD. Plus you can make the phone scream at whoever has it, take photos and send you history of call/sms records etc.

Good question, How do I do a recovery on a phone I don't have?
I tried android lost but since the phone is off or the sim is out I can not install it.
That being said I could have used whers my droid pro to send me a text with the new number if they put a new sim card in. But I only expected to locate a misplaced phone not a stolen one.
Learn from my mistake and set up these apps on ur phone now.
No it was not locked she has always worked in a office and had gotten complacent.
What is the S2 HD LTE and when is it coming out?
We all know the S2 beats the hell out of a skyrocket.
I can't affoed over $400 for a new phone so looks like she will get my old GS or and old Iphone.
If anyone is upgrading and can work with me let me know.

Not too long ago, ATT was selling SGSII refurbs for $0.01. I got one for my better half, and it's sailing along famously.
That was for $0.01 with a two year contract correct? We paid $.96 each for the two we bought, but now we are not able to upgrade again. Can't get that deal.

I guess it'll be blocked from accessing any network. That's all. The data on your phone will still be there unfortunately. Use this app called Cerberus with your next phone to prevent such situations. I've been using it since a year and it's brilliant. Allows you to locate your phone and a whole lot more including remotely wiping the phone and SD card and turning on data and WiFi. The lifetime license for 5 devices is a paltry amount too. I'm not advertising the app, it's just something that everybody would do well to have.
In any case, if you had a security lock on your phone then it won't be a problem. The thief or whoever he sells it to will probably just factory reset it. SD card data is another thing though, as it can be removed and opened with a card reader. If your pics were in the internal memory and you had a security lock then it shouldn't be a problem. Messages are stored in the /data partition anyway.
The Desire HD, which I own too, is a brilliant phone. But obviously not as good as S2, being of an older generation. The build quality beats any Samsung phone though. Mine has fallen down hundreds on times and taken many beatings, but other than a scratch here and there it's perfectly fine.

Did you mistake XDA for your blog?
If you hadn't have blocked it you could have downloaded plan b on it from the play store on your home computer.
Now they can do whatever they like on it except for text people, call people or use 3g etc.
Did you have a screen lock? if so then you may be alright for not having your pics nosed at/downloaded/passed on. If not then your out of luck.

First of all his post is relevant to XDA, since he had a S2 and is simply asking questions about the phone. Yes, he should have posted it on the Q and A part of the forum, but it is still relevant.
Not trying to be rude or anything but from most of your posts that I read, all I see is sarcasm. If you don't have anything good to say, don't say it.

I've had that issue before. It took a day or so before my code was sent back. By any chance did you have the app backed up with Titanium Backup Pro? With the pro version you can restore your device id(that some app licenses are attached to) which gets wiped on fresh installs. I had this issue 2x's with Roam control and went ahead and purchased Titanium Pro. Haven't had an issue since.

Yeah Roam Control is the only one that does that for me. I assume it's because it's purchased outside of the Play Store.
I just bought Roam Control on 5/28/13 using PayPal and the activation code I was sent (automated system) does not work. I have sent TWO e-mails to the developer without a reply! !
I have to say I have two codes and neither are working. Just bought one for a different phone 5/29/13 and I'm not getting any response either.
Add me to the mix. Unresponded emails. Working in the past now since updating ROM, no-go!!
Huh, that's sad to see. I bought Roam Control last year (or longer, don't remember how far back exactly.) and messed with it for a few days. This was right after Google started the 15min preview crap.
I emailed the developer, explaining I had forgotten about the 15min preview cap and that the app wasn't working for me, saying that roaming was getting exactly the same amount of signal strength in my area, defeating the purpose of roaming, and he gladly refunded me the next day and explained how he understood and how he doesn't really like the 15min cap either.
Hope you guys get sorted and he's just on vacation or something.
I have used it when I was with sprint and I can still use it when I use CDMA but I bought it through the android market. Bought it almost 2 1/2 years ago.

To root or not to root

After my last bad experience with Xperia zl and after reading how other people have experienced issues after rooting their note 3 I was wondering if rooting has any adverse effects on the phones functionality. What are cons of rooting?
There's bit of lag on note 3 which is really annoying for such a beast.
Any advice would be much appreciated thanks

root it, that is all.
Forget what everyone says about problems, Even if you were to brick this thing it can be restored to stock through odin. I have been screwing with this thing since it came out and my team has done quite a bit to it. Ones even working on a full rom atm.
Just do it!

If you use the CF-AutoRoot method and follow the directions step by step (perhaps also remove SIM-Card and SD-Card before setting the phone in download mode and running Odin) then you should have a flawless experience, it took me less than 10 minutes out of the box and I was rooted and ready to go.
Chainfire and QbKing77 have put together comprehensive guides on rooting the Note 3 for just about every provider. Just make sure you choose the correct .tar file for your phone model.
Root your device at your own risk. Using this root method sets current binary and system status to custom. Additionally, it will also trigger the KNOX warranty void status. The KNOX warranty status change is permanent, and a service center may deny warranty based on this flag – even if the other flags are reset correctly. The KNOX flag being tripped may also prevent certain Samsung KNOX features from working (enterprise security features).
If you're worried about the losing your warranty, wait for a KNOX workaround, or a potential TriangleAway update.

Not sure if you're referring to my suggestion. The reason I recommend removing the SD-Card and SIM-Card is to prevent the chance of ODIN wiping any data from them. An old habit but prevention is the best solution. Bricks are no fun.
Also remember that restoring does not work with the note 3 yet so nandoids don't work and if u do a restore, u will not be able to Odin back to stock from what I've read. I will wait until all the kinks are worked out

My Advice: Root it. If it bricks, Return it. YOU SHOULD HAVE 14 DAYS

If you bought the phone retail you should have 14 days to return the phone. The Black Note 3 that I picked up from Best Buy on Friday was an upgrade from Sprint. I tooled around with it, rooted and installed a customer recovery on Saturday and tried to install a ROM yesterday. Things went awry and I ended up with a brick Black Note 3 and rather then waste time trying to unbrick it I returned it to BestBuy this morning and exchanged it for the white model.
Some might argue that it's not cool to do that because the phone will be relegated to pre owned status and Sprint/Samsung will have to write of the depreciated value of a two day old as a loss.
I don't care though because I signed a 2 year contract with Sprint and they'll screwing me for a lot more and for a much longer them then I could have ever screwed them.

What does this have to do with the original question asked... Also if your to lazy to unbrick this phone which is only about 10 clicks and 10 minutes long then that's not very impressive to me. A lot of respect is lost in this post.. I may not agree with sprints prices but still that's not cool

It has a lot to do with the original question. The question was whether or not to root and the answer mitigated the danger of having a root gone bad. It had nothing to do with being Lazy. I wasn't able to fix the phone in 10 clicks or 1,000 clicks and I spent much more than 10 minutes trying. After trying to flash the firmware didn't work I began to run out of idea's but it didn't stop me from trying. It's a new device and I wasn't able to locate many resources to help my guess it they haven't been created yet.
I said it's not something I normally do but I justified it because of the 10 years of repressed anger I have towards Sprint. I'm still annoyed at having to pay a monthly surcharge for having a smartphone beginning in 2010 with the HTC EVO 4G. And despite Sprints marketing the phone as 4G I never got 4G with that phone. Then there was the mismanaged OTA ICS update from Sprint. I could make a list of things to complain about to Sprint but there is no recourse after you sign the contract because you have no leverage.
