[Q] Does 3/4g work in Argentina? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all, I'm thinking of moving yonder and was wondering if the att Atrix was going to be compatible with their bands

Yes, it will work. Argentina uses the same 3G bands as AT&T on the US.

i have an unlocked canadian atrix working here in mexico

Will the 3g on an North American X10 work in the UK?

I was reading on the spec sheet for the Rogers X10 and under HSPA bands it says 850/1900/2100. I think the mostly use the 2100 band for 3g in the UK, I was wondering if I'm in the UK and I put a t-mobile UK sim into my phone if i will only get gsm, or 3g also?
p.s sorry i put this in the wrong forum section.
yea it should work. as far as i know the UK is mostly WCDMA2100
yea it should work. however, a UK phone will not work on 3g in canada. Its a one way deal
awesome, good to know as im going to be in europe for the summer.

Please help me pick a new phone

Hey you guys. Currently own the HTC Touch Pro 2 AKA AT&T Tilt 2
I'd love to own the new HD2 but I dont know where to find one online for a good price and if its capable of the AT&T 3G GSM bands.
Second phone I'm deciding on is the Sony Xperia X10, and again, I see the only 3G band it can get from AT&T is the 2100 band.
So the lesser the bands it can connect to, the less 3G service I can get? Am I correct?
Thanks.
bump anybody?
You'll need a Telstra HD2 if you want AT&T 3G. As for the X10, the Canadian Rogers version would work on AT&T 3G bands as well.

Thanks Chuck. I've seen the Telstra HD2's and their really expensive at the moment and have to load a hack rom on it for it to work.
What would you think of this Xperia?

That one won't work with AT&T 3G. You're looking for something with 850/1900MHz 3G support. The white version of the X10 on that site would work.

No, T-Mobile and AT&T do not use the same 3G bands. It will not be compatible with AT&T's 3G network. The best you'll get is EDGE.

SGS2 ATT usuable in Germany with o2?

Hey Guys,
I am situated in Germany and in my opinion, the ATT Versions of the S2 is the most beautiful one. My carrier ist o2.
Is it possible to buy a S2 ATT via the US Ebay and use the phone without any restrictions in Germany?
I guess I need to root it first, then unlock it and then I am good to go? Are these thins easily and safely to achieve? Is it that simple? What about the network, is the american version compatible with the german network? Can I use hsdpa?
Any other restrictions?
Thank you in advance.
the usual problems with US phones in europe... no 3g, but if your only there short term, it may be worth picking up, otherwise just get the euro version with the correct bands.
also i havent checked but there may be a quad band umts unlocked
AT&T version only has tri-band (850/1900/2100) HSPA+ radio. So if your carrier O2 uses 900 band for 3G service, your phone will only work in 2G mode.
International version of GS2 has quad-band HSPA+ and it works everywhere.
