Sprint doesn't care about EVO 3D users.

Assuming they do announce it, they would release it till June or so. Too bad, because the One X is current and top-gen now. Who knows what will be out in 3-4 months.

This won't happen.... What will happen is an announcement of a new sprint htc device.... Which is pretty obvious.

You think so? I'm kinda fuzzy on the specs, so I was just making a gross assumption. I don't feel like looking them up. What sort of specs are we looking at with Sprint's One X?

No doubt, but I guess that the S4 beat out the Tegra 3. So this chipset will suit me just fine.

the processor beat the tegra3, but the gpu is years behind, its the same gpu the evo 3d has just slightly faster. lame.

You never know with Sprint....could be the Kyocera quad screen!

So your saying tegra 3 is a better fit for gamers?
My honest opinion we should all just wait for the gs3.

It'll probably be the CDMA variant of the One X with the S4 processor, and one of the first LTE phones. Might even be a "World Phone." You won't have to worry about it being out of date by any other HTC phones since HTC is putting their eggs in the Quality, not Quantity basket. I'd be happy to see another 3D phone, but I'll live with the next phone in line. I don't hardly use the 3D anymore, but every now and again, it's nice to have.

I wouldn't really speak for everyone else in your opinion. Sure, they might have different specs that may or may not be better than the next EVO, but there are still some people out there VERY loyal to HTC, myself included.

I'm not sure I believe that it'll be pushing out right around the same time as the galaxy nexus is released. I'd think that they would release the nexus and give it a bit before updating other phones to ics but hey, here's to optimism!

Yeah the thing to ask is what's different hardware wise in the rezound besides LTE/WiMax and 3D, than what the EVO 3D has. Less those 2 things would be enough reason to downclock which I honestly can't see them alone being reason at all.
Haven't read the battery spec but would assume they have a larger battery than we do since they don't have the dual cameras giving them more space than us. That there would be enough to not downclock IMHO though.
As for us getting update next month......don't see that happening. More like 1st qtr next yr sometime. They have some big decisions to make now since ics adds so many changes....

I think they will get it to us BUT...
What happened to the manufacturers promising to support updates for 18 months after the phones release? I haven't heard anyone mention that in a while.
We should get it since we have the same processor just at a slower clock speed, and the same amount of RAM. Wouldn't make sense to update the rezound and not the E3D.

I guess it's 20MBit/s which would be 2.5MByte/s, so an SD card should be able to handle that.
Would be nice to see on our evo 3d's
The Sensation get's so much love.
I am by no means a developer, so I don't even know if this the right way to achieve similar results, but I pulled the media_profile XML files from the flashable zip and my copy of MeanROM and started comparing them to see if I could make any sense out of it. I would assume that sideloading the APK from the zip would bork because of the framework change between Sense 3.6 and 3.0... Any ideas?
I'm perfectly happy with my beasty 3D cam on my EVO as it is.

Ive debated about the SGS3. It will have more raw power for sure but the developer support for whatever the Sprint version will be probably won't be as good. I absolutely love what S4 krait is supposed to be. Android skins don't really bother me as much anymore because everything is ICS now so I can get just put trebuchet on it and be ok. Although doubtful, if the SGS3 comes with a dual core A15 soc then I will have no choice all A15 soc will kick ass haha. As of now, the One X with is beastly camera and krait on board will be my next phone. I'm sure the quad core A9 exynos will be sweet like they always are but the power effeciancy of 28nm as well as LTE built into the die (assuming it supports 2.5Ghz) will be sweet.

this is a common misconception. i will explain;
a class 10 SD card, has a MINIMUM write speed of 10 megabytes per second. this is to say, the lowest sustained write/read/execute speed is 10MB/s. The same goes for class 4 etc, c4 = 4MB/s min.
as for max, my class 10 card writes at ~15.6 MB/s consistent, and read at ~25.

There is usually a product cycle to the big contender phones. Just like every summer, a new EVO is released. You'll find other phones released between these times. But, you never know. They're already developing superphones that are faster than the EVO 4G LTE.
There might be a new Nexus phone announced at Google I/O next week. iPhone 5 in the fall, and probably another round of Android superphones for the holiday season, probably once Samsung/TI/Nvidia launch an LTE baseband that will work with their SoCs.
Well the latest rumors are that Jellybean will be released next week at Google I/O. You can get the new S3 or EVO but if you plan to see Android 4.1 on it anytime soon you are probably in for disappointment. I'd get a Galaxy Nexus or wait for the next Nexus line which should have similar hardware to the latest super phones.

Cool thanks for the responses. Good discussion.
I am anxious to see the new gnex, but I'm thinking it wont have a large enough screen (even tho the specs will be good enough). Other words, I don't think it will be "better" than the S3 per se, other than getting jellybean/pure android...but never know....
Lastly, the responses to this are actually "grown up" for once - you guys were spot on. Thing is, I was expecting much worse reactions as the question could have drawn out all types of trolls.
Hopefully XDA has turned a corner recently...thanks again.
How about the new WP8 phones that are going to come out around October I think. Huge update to the software from what I have read, multiple core, multiple screen res and size support. I would be very interested to see a Nokia WP8 mobile with their 41mp camera, and Nokia maps. That would be pretty amazing. I am itching to see what comes out.

I have a feeling now that google has their hands on motorola, that they will eventually have a pretty sweet release....more then likely a Nexus. I have a feeling that it'll not be locked down the way it has in the past. Google knows what Android junkies want, and they'd be kinda stupid to not use motorola ideally the way they should. Hopefully it makes it to sprint. Main reason I'm hoping for this is purely for the fact Motorola and Google are AMERICAN companies.

And an incremental JB update instead of Key Lime Pie which is weird for a Nexus. Then again these are rumors, but it looks nice.

AW: HTC One (M7)
Seems to be amazing
4mpx cam looks nice, but If the Marketing fails this wont help the device
Stereo speaker are also nice, since it was always a Problem of htc phones
Battery will be interesting, 2300mah arent that much....
4,7" is the right decision imo , they will Most likely have the only (Android) flagship >5"

I was sitting on the fence, concerning my April upgrade, but this is causing significant lean. Especially when you consider the Zoe photo effect.... Aw yeah...

Looks like I'll have a decent upgrade path from my Evo 3d.....finally. 6 months left on my contract. With luck Sprint will have LTE going in the Portland/Vancouver area.

It works especially because my 3d is so busted up, it would only be worth around 50$

Typically Sprint HTC phones have historically had larger batteries and removable media. This held true of the One X series with the EVO 4G LTE and I hope it is true of the One series.
My worry is that this will have the same problem as the 3D in regards to the camera. This looks like it could be tough to port to new ROMS which could hinder development. Love the look though.
I also don't like not being able to remove the battery. Not usually an issue but has been very handy sometimes. How does one reboot a device if it is boot looping without pulling the battery? Also want removable SD card but that isn't as big a real I don't think though again has been very useful in desperate times.

Sprint's releasing the same version as AT&T/TMo, ain't gonna be no EVO.
I personally think I'm done with HTC. I like their phones but Samsung seems to make much better phones plus I love AOKP and having to wait for ports and such sucks. How do you guys feel about it? Galaxy S3 or this guy?

Between those two, definitely the new HTC One. If you want to go with Samsung you should just wait for the S4.
