[Help]Theme a custom ROM to look like 4.0 - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Hello developers!
1st of all thanks a lot for making ROMs too simple to customize them as per our requirements. I am after a problem. I am working on a custom ROM with prior permission of it's developer to make necessary changes to his work.
I am having the ICS.apk which turns default rom to ICS look through theme chooser. I am also having the ICS look ADW theme. What I actually want to know is, how to make these themes as default while making ROM. Means I don't want to make users take the efforts to choose them through themechooser. I looked many ROMs having ICS as default theme but not getting how they did that actually. I know that the default theme is everything like system.apk,etc. But still changing ICS through theme chooser makes everything look like ICS. So I need that procedure. Also same for ADW launcher or if ThouchWhiz is available.
I hope you guys got my point. Waiting to here from you!
Regards,
Adwait

As far as I know, the apk's in system/app/*.apk are one of the things that are replaced when making a custom ROM. I've a stock ROM but certain elements like the status bar and settings page are from custom ROM. Try doing that. There's also a guide on how to make a custom ROM somewhere around here. Use the search tool

Just decompile each apk and replace the png's.
Some apps like systemui and framework will also require some code editing to change the font color and other things.

For example take this rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1510038
How to make it to look like the ROM as this?

Yes, the default system theme is built into the theme manager app located in system>app>theme manager open the apk using winrar and edit the pngs, this method will work on only.cyanogenmod 7 Rom.

Install update.zip. That s about it. But do make a backup of your framework folder first. Or better yet, the complete ROM from CWM.

I've got a question too.
Does the Samsung SG II Lockscreen require Stock SMS App or does it also work with a 3rd Party app like Go SMS (I mean that the missed messages will be displayed) ?

Should I only apply kyrillos theme v7? Without any other thing? Can you give me pls the link for it?
if you want the kyrillos framework and you want 9 lockscreen mod you have to pick a theme with 9 lockscreenmod (maybe use the one from dhirend as a base if you may) and then copy all the png's from the res folder in kyrillos theme to the res folder from the theme of dhirend just overwrite them you can just use winrar to get the res folders in and out
btw the twframework isnt changed.. you only have 2 do this with the framework-res.apk

[Q] Is it possible to customize Galaxy Ace via SDK/ADB?

Hi guys. Galaxy Ace 2.3.6, rooted, successfully uninstalled several system apps (allshare, samsung apps, etc.), and using a market-downloaded launcher.
Now I want to customize my Ace even more without installing a custom ROM. I know some people do it via ADB. Is this possible with Ace? Suppose I already have the SDK and ADB installed, then what? Can anyone provide step by step instructions, please?
Like if I wanted to make the pull-down menu (where the shortcuts of wifi, bluetooth, sound, gps, and auto-rotate are located) semi-transparent, I think it's possible with ADB, I just don't know how to go about it.
Also, changing the font color and font size, for example.
Many thanks!

Get apk tool. Now you can decompile apps to edit graphics and code.
Inside the res folder you find graphics. Edit them with a good program and you can change transparency, colors, whatever.
SystemUI.apk and Framework-res.apk Have the notification and Status bar. Also check UOT Kitchen, make changes and compare to the original files.
Other apks for UI changes include Settings.apk, dialer, diáltab, Shutdown, etc.
Just dive in and experiment. As long as you got a Backup youll be alright.

dxppxd, have you done all that with your galaxy ace?
I have succesfully put a semitransparent Black Status bar, changed the looks of many icons (including check boxes, circles, the USB mass storage android picture, etc ) and changed the toggles icons to ICS style (I took the ones from tj_droids ICS stock theme).
Also got the ddkq8 lockscreen with centered clock, and added status bar icons from UOT Kitchen.
I'll post my framework and systemui apks later today (stock ddkq8) when I get home so you can open them and check them out (compare the files inside them with your own). Changing graphics is easy all you really need is winrar or 7zip and a graphics editor . Adding more settings, expanded menus, etc, that's the complicated part, you need apk tool.
Check this great tut

[Q] How I can set a default theme on CM9? [NOT RESOLVED]

Hello XDA, and my question is: ''How I can set default theme on CM9?'' :good:
In CM7, I modify build.prop and set default theme trought parameters: persist.sys.themeId= & persist.sys.themePackageName=.
But, how in CM9? Doesn't appear this parameters in build.prop of CM9.
HOW!?

Help me, please! :crying:
Thanks! Cheers!

No. What I mean is I am finishing up an new ICS ROM. And I want a different theme to boot into DEFAULT the first time it boots without the person to need to select it. Example: Sense4 Theme in Cyanogenmod's theme chooser. Have that one boot as default the first time after initial install of Custom ROM instead of System theme. "WHERE IS THAT SETTING LOCATED!" I Know how to choose a theme in theme chooser.

In CM7 you can choose the default theme by editing the build prop. Then when that CM7 rom is installed, that custom theme is used instead. There has to be a way in CM9 too. HELP I'm not making one for X10 but found this Post asking the same question I am asking. This answer would help alot of us Devs

You would have to swap the images in the apks you want to theme with the Touchwiz themed images then put the themed apks into your ROMs system/app folder. The main apks that control most of a ROMs theme are SystemUI.apk framework-res.apk and settings.apk. Let me know if you still have questions .

[Q] How to change nemus launcher theme before flashing ?

Hi guys :cyclops:
I am developing an custom rom ı have done everything i want
The last one, i dont know how to change nemus launcher theme before flashing rom.
i want to replace default theme with Miui x2 free one.
If its a premade theme than try changing build.prop to use it as default. Otherwise you may have to decompile the.apk and change what you need in there
