[Q] speech / voice recognition stopped working - HTC Radar

Voice recognition stopped working all of a sudden yesterday. Have been using it with no problem since December.
Essentially, when using voice to text message, the screen pops up telling me to say something... I speak and the "sound bars" in the lower right show that my voice is being recognized, but then the speech window just resets and tells me to speak again. Eventually, it just closes.
When using bing search via voice search I speak and it recognizes it and then says "We're sorry we cant access the network right now".
Any idea why this is happening all of a sudden? Has anybody else ran into this issue on their windows phone/radar?

Fonix Voice Dial - part of new O2 apps

Hi all,
This works well for me apart from one thing.
I have assigned the voicedial to my 'record' button.
However, every time i hit the button it first goes to the 'voices and parameters' screen which I have to OK before proceeding to dial. This is obviously very annoying. Do others get this or have I missed a setting option somehwere? I am using the 'Recorded Voice' voice.

OK - have found that using ANY other voice apart from the 'Recorded Voice' option works fine and I don't get the first screen - weird!

I get an error every time it tries to update the voice tags, cant fix it either.

Bluetooth issue

Weird problem. When I get a call, I press to answer the call on my headset then it immediately goes to a female voice that says unknown caller press 1 to answer or 2 to send to voicemail.
Defeats the purpose of Bluetooth if I have to pull the phone out to answer.
Anyone else have this issue?
I called sprint and they said it was htc issue then transferred me to htc and they couldn't figure it out.
I am using a blue ant t1 device.
Thanks!
That would be happening because you synced with Google Voice. Google Voice is intercepting your call and is causing the additional requirement. I think that can be changed in your Google Voice settings if you log in to the actual web app, not the app on the phone. I had the same problem. It was intercepting voice and text. Haven't changed it to use just Google Voice for Voicemail yet.
Bingo!
Sprint couldn't answer...blamed on HTC...HTC couldn't answer said would get back to me in 5 business days...
Come here and BAM!
This site rocks...
Thanks again Skepticalmystic for your help!

Google voice typing in SMS works 50% of time

It seems that voice typing in SMS only works when I am on WiFi. If I have full signal 4G, I can go to an SMS and try to voice type and nothing happens. The Mic just appears with a dotted line around it and it just sits there. Just in case, I downloaded the language pack to allow offline voice recognition.
How can I fix this?
BTW, I am on MIUI, but it didn't work on CNA either.
Thanks!

Critical failures: Disconnected and "Can't reach Google at the moment"

Hi all,
I hope you can help me because I'm having the following issues:
- When saying "Ok Google" or tapping the main screen to enter in search/command mode, I start speaking, the device starts converting voice to text and, sometimes (almost 50% of total times), it suddenly shows the "Disconnected" message with the cloud icon... But the device is still paired (I still receive notifications and so on).
- When I receive any message from Hangouts and I want to reply it through voice, an error message appears: "Can't reach Google at the moment". But if I select a default reply from the available list, I can reply with no problems...
Notifications are working great. It looks like it's related to voice search/commands...
Best regards,

There is a thread for these issues. And these specific two have also been posted there. Please continue the discussion here.

[Q] Replace google voice search for bluetooth?

It frustrates me quite a great deal that my android is such a great phone (M8), but it turns so dumb when it comes to BT connectivity. The way I have it now, hands free is all but pointless. I like to use it for my phone so I can actually be safe and hands-free, without neglecting my calls and texts during my commute. As it is, when I hit my phone button on my car, I'm presented with 'Say call, followed by a name or a number' and then, 'Would you like to call XX, say okay, or cancel'. It is the most annoying and drawn out method of calling someone in history. Not to mention, if it doesn't hear you right away, it says 'Sorry, didn't catch that', and then just closes down. I cringe every time I have to voice dial. To top it off, there's nothing I can do with texting. How much smarter would it be to have a 'Read unread messages' prompt? Or a prompt to send a text?
So my question is, is there a way to replace this 1990's error voice control app with something actually usable, or am I stuck with this?
