My custom rom compiled from the source cyanogenmod 9 ICS 4.0.4 for u8650 GSM
Unofficial CM9 LuckyIcsGsm 4.0.4 ---> google....

OMG!!! Thank you soo much! its amazing!
but I have two problems
1. The call volume is really quiet on the loudest setting, and loudspeaker doesnt work well.
2. Mobile data dosent work, pages just load forever and never actually open.
Other than that, its an amazing rom

Hi
I have posted my custom rom here on xda ----> the link Here
Only hardware bug is Photocamera and Video.....
Beta 5 with bluetooth fixed and other.....

Since i'm new here i can't post on the LuckICSgsm thread, but i'd like to point out these bugs:
1. Can't send SMS to groups
2. Many times incoming calls don't show the caller's name
3. Can't dial frequent numbers (from the frequent numbers tab)
Fix these and the camera and the ROM will be the best out there for this phone, truly outstanding, way better than stock, way faster and stable than any other custom ones out there

I'm using a super stable rom "LunarBasic", never crashed, never restart
cyanogen mod 7.2
android 2.3.7
Launcher is slightly slow, animations aren't as smooth and gapps must be installed separately, these are basically the cons

It's stable and all but overall really slow, i'm using GGR next gen with 360 launcher which is a lot faster, the only downside to me is having the settings in a widget and not in the pull down toggle

Been using it for a week or so, and so far so good, never crashed and everything works perfect

xCyanogenMini - Gigglebread - Rotary & Dialer(s) Fixes

Hi Folks,
I have decided to post this fix as a separated thread because the gigglebread thread is growing incredibly fast and the reference to it gets lost in one or two days after being published.
When GB was at v5, I wrote this post on its thread, to offer to the community a fix that I've created to my device, because I realized that my pain could be the pain of others.
Well, that fix does not works on v8, it puts the system in a infinite boot loop. Therefore I rolled up my sleeves again to update it. And here it comes the updated version. Enjoy while it's hot.
Best Regards,
Ed.
could you please tell us what this fixes and is installation via custom zip option in xecovery?
Thanks in advance.
Hi, I'm sorry for this. The explanation was on the post linked in the previous message... Here's the Quote of that post:
edsena said:
Hi Folks,
I've been following this particular thread since its first day (coincidentally the same day that I started using an Android phone).
The main motivation for using this rom was that to be able to replicate my corporate e-mail and calendar. In order to do that, I would have to be, at least, using Android 2.2, because the company that I work for restricts access to earlier versions because the changes on the lock screen password options that took place on v2.2.
Despite of a few minor remaining bugs, this ROM works pretty well on my device. But, there is an issue that was really pissing me off: The inability of sending DTMF tones using the digits 0*#, because of the layout of the screen. Since I have to join several conference calls per week, that is a huge show-stopper for me. Well, I'm pretty sure that the creator of this ROM is quite busy working on some serious issues (like bluetooth) and do not has the time to take a look into these cosmetic issues, that's why I decided to roll up my sleeves and work on this.
I finally went thru this, and I decided to share this fix on the forum, since I read a lot of people talking about this issue as well. Attached to this post is an update zip file, which will tweak the position of the component of those screens, in order to allow the full visualization of both dialpads (in-call & initial).
To install the fix, just copy it to your sdcard and install it via xRecovery. Please take into account that this comes with no warranty at all, is provided *AS IS*, and I don't want to be responsible should anyone damage a device, loose data, etc, trying to install this package. I only tested it on my phone (where it worked like a charm) therefore I can't guarantee that it will work on other setups as well.
If you like this fix, please click on "Thanks" and feel free to send some bucks to finance some Duvels, Karmeliets or Guiness
EDIT: I've just added a tweak to the "Rotary Selector" to keep it from being in front of the "Calling Card" when an incoming call is received. Therefore now there's 3 zip attached to this post: One that has the 2 fixes and another one for each fix. You can figure out which is which by their names, which are pretty straight forward.
Best Regards,
Ed.

Works Perfectly

[rom] aosp (wip)

I noticed there was no active development that was trying to get the standard AOSP build working, which I really would like to use as my day to day ROM....so I decided to give it a shot. Feel free to help
I use the Ninphetamine kernel and a clockwork recovery initramfs. The initramfs has been altered and will not boot with other ones. This is because of a missing socket that the older init.rc doesn't make.
I'll be using the next post to describe what I'm working on and update it with any useful info I find.
Currently it's in an unusable state, here's where it stands:
Working
Making calls
SMS
Audio
Internet (Data Connection)
Note: When you open browser, it will crash because google's home page try's to use location services, you need to navigate away quickly in order for it not to crash.
Proximity Sensor
Internal Storage
microSD Storage
Vibration
Camera
USB Transfer with Internal Storage
Untested
Other Sensors
TV Out (doubtful)
Not Working (yet)
WiFi (don't even turn this on, it will reboot endlessly) <-- working on it
Camcorder
Bluetooth
GPS
USB Transfer with microSD (not a huge priority)
I know that cyanogenmod is pretty darn close to AOSP and that I'm duplicating work, but I'm doing it anyways.
If you want to try it out:
Binaries:
CWM Kernel Zip
CWM AOSP Zip
Note: Obviously you need to wipe.

AdamG has made devnull (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1183063&highlight=devnull) which is basicly the AOSP build. Some stuff not working though as the CM7 team has not managed to get audio over bluetooth working.
He has also started the Oxygen development. The oxygen thread is here: http://www.forums.acsyndicate.net/showthread.php/1591-ROM-AOSP-GRJ90-2.3.5-Oxygen-v2.2.1
Good to hear others working on this too, hope you manage to get bluetooth audio issue sorted and perhaps help other AOSP / CM7 devs with that issue.

Ah, yeah, I forgot about that one. I'll be leaving it completely stock AOSP though (when it works well anyways). Might speed things up for me a bit. I am doing this as a sort of hobby too, interesting to learn how it works.
EDIT: It WILL speed things up a great deal....DevNull did some great work.
search for the Oxygen ROM on google.
it's a rom for SGS2 where everything works, and it's only AOSP.

All the same, great work mate, we need more AOSP ROM's, since AdamG has taken a break due to personal reasons it's nice for another dev to take the helm.
Good luck mate, all the best.

AdamG did great work yes but it does not preclude to new AOSP roms.
Keep your respected work.
Edit: If AdamG had taken a break, maybe you should think to fork devnull. This speeds up work and you can focus another thinks etc A2DP and tvout. Its open source
I have been using CM7 as well as Devnull/Oxygen and I felt Oxygen was very stable, while CM7 26 was the most stable for me while 31 made my me turn back to Oxygen.
My sincere request, kindly take over from where Adam left Will be a great boon for us!

About Omega v1.1 AOKP Build-39 ROM

Hi friends..
This is about Omega v1.1 AOKP Build-39 ROM..
As soon as I flashed this ROM, I fall in love with this.. It's amazing.. Too bad it won't get updated any more..
Now here are few questions if someone kindly answer them..
1. I have to go back to Stock ROM since Camera is one of my priorities and in this ROM it's not working.. but I like the inbuilt messaging app which has an option to set not to display sender name and message content on notification area whereas no such settings available in stock messaging app.. What's this app, can I install it separately..
2. In stock Messaging app, if you enable Delivery report, you get notification as you receive a new message unlike Symbian where a normal pop up appeared, is there any kind of possibility in Android too.. not a sound for delivery notification..
3. Also can someone guide me for such more ROMs like this where such mods already implemented and such nice UI.., if possible with same messaging app.
Thanks ..
Whats wrong with asking in the correct place the roms very own thread as per XDA rules ???
3. Also can someone guide me for such more ROMs
Found via search.

[Q] New to using custom roms, couple of questions

I just recently started using custom roms thanks to a friend of mine. I'm currently using Cyanogenmod, I believe the most recent one (flashed to the one released today) but I noticed a few things were missing. The biggest concern of mine is that I don't seem to have Google Now on my phone, and I seem to have lost S-Voice (which I assume Google Now replaces). Voice search also doesn't seem to be working either. Whenever I try using voice search, it immediately crashes. Lastly, I don't get 4g HSPA+ anymore. I'm not in an LTE area but we do get H+ here. I noticed that I am on 3g all the time. Just wondering if there were any fixes for these problems. Not a huge issue, just an inconvenience I'd like to see fixed if possible.

Cyanogenmod has a discussion thread in the general section.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2035141
you're best to go there and ask - but before you do, a quote from the cm10.1 thread you downloaded the rom from
- Camera: Recording effects broken
- Camera: Touch 2 focus issues with enabled flashlight
- Bluetooth: audio streaming sometimes becomes laggy or stops at a distance > 1m
- FM Radio: unsupported
- TV Out: unsupported, will never work (proprietary, undocumented)
- Lots of missing and yet unimplemented features
- and a lot more
these are known issues.
Actually we have two kind of roms. Based on Stock Samsung Rom and based on AOSP (Android Open Source Project). It isn't the same and AOSP roms mostly are missing much things added by Samsung, for example Smart Stay, Samsung Apps etc. CyanogenMod is based on AOSP.
If you ask me I'd stick with roms based on Samsung, mostly because I believe it's much more compatible than "clean" AOSP itself. But it's up to you, I'd suggest flashing some stock rom (f.e. Android Revolution HD) and make a decision which one you prefer.
