+1 I have been trying to figure this out myself.
You could type in about:debug into the address bar and then go into the setting to switch the mobile mode into the desktop mode
But once you close the browser or restart yur device you will have to do this all over again..

IMO, abandon that ship and do one of the other browsers. I use Dolphin for Tab.
Yeah Im using Opera but for some odd reason the sony browser seems a bit snappier on sites it DOES load in desktop.
tablet s default browser is faster than any of my tablet browser... but rite now on my tablet s im using opera n the default browser once in a while...

Sorry I was too lazy to type the whole path, here you go
Once you type in about:debug
Go to setting(top right corner), then you will see the debug option there which you dont see it normally, go there and you will find the option UAString. Click it and choose desktop.

Copy and paste? What am I missing??

In the stock browser, I hit menu then more and select text. It lets me select text, then what? How do I copy? I go to the same spot in the menu as "select text" after selecting and there are no new options. Long pressing on selected text also gives me nothing.
sent straight from my brain....
You highlight the text and then hit the highlighted stuff and it gives you option.

once it is selected long press on the highlighted text for the options menu
Or just switch to dolphin browser HD it has better copy/text functions and tabbed browsing.
I couldn't get down with the Dolphin Browser myself. I just use stock. Couldn't really find one I was happy with.
Agreed on the browser... I use stock, but I do have Skyfire installed for sites that the stock browser hoses up.

I don't like skyfire much myself but any browser is better than stock. I love the tabs and gestures in dolphin. It's pretty much Firefox but it actually pwns the android Firefox browser lol.
Android Firefox was absolutely horrible.

There are two ways of doing it:
1.
- Open your stock browser or chrome or Firefox
- bookmark your favorite website.
- goto bookmarks, long-click on anyone and select add to home screen.
2. From your launcher.
- long click, select add shortcuts,
- choose bookmark and select your favorite one.
With method two, you must have previously bookmarks that page on your stock browser at least.
Click on the THANKS button if I've helped you

Browser

Why is it that when I'm on the Web my tabs don't close. If push the back button it exits out but tabs stay open. Is there a fix for that.

What I do is next to the address box at the top on the right side, is a little rectangle with a number in it. Click to open the Window manager it will show all the open sites just click on the ones you want to close then click on the rectangle to get back to the browser. You might also try to click on bookmarks the button in the upper right hand corner then history, then bottom left menu button to erase you browsing history. I checked through browser settings can't find anything that allows the browser to hold tabs.

But shouldn't they close and the browser should add you if you want to exit.

Yes I agree, when I search on Google and wander around several sites. Then I just click the back button, it backs me out of each web page and if I keep going it will take me back to Google then to my home page. It doesn't close the app, I have to do that with Active apps button. Is this how yours is running ?

Running the same. Just annoying that it doesn't close the tabs. Before it would close all tabs. Wish it was like that.

Adding Chrome and app shortcuts to Homepage.

Anyone having an issue with Nova or Samsung Launcher in automatically adding new apps to the home screen or saving a Chrome bookmark to the home page? I can't get these two things to show up. Thank you.

Changes were made in Oreo that cause issues to place shortcuts on home screens. For example, Facebook messenger cannot create conversation shortcuts anymore but WhatsApp can.

Wow, are there any workarounds?

None that I've found. Not even using nova launcher. The strange thing is that Samsung back up did indeed restore home screen shortcuts, but if I wanna create a new one for the same app I can't
Using Nova Prime, I have no problem adding a bookmarked site to the home screen. Open the site, tap on the 3 button menu, and then on Add to Home screen. I tried it on three different sites, and it worked on all of them.

Is this from chrome? I have no luck with the latest version of Nova. Chrome says it's adding to homescreen yet nothings shows up.
