Thanks spaarc for an AOSP 4.0 for our devices. You mentioned that rom is Non-rooted - what is the purpose for this?

Hello folks,
This ROM is very early in development
Many features will not work eg data, wifi, etc.
This is just a test version to show you what is to come ahead
For some time it will not be rooted you could add superuser app and binary, etc via recovery
THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR DAILY USE
Please keep that in mind and go ahead to test it
I want bug reports not rants

I have my exams so don't expect any updates for 7+ days
And I have to work on sparkernel as well

Have a try using FXP 113 working for me at the moment

I hate to sound uninformed but does the X10 not have an Adreno 200 graphics chip and an Arm v7 Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon which is the same as the HTC Desire (and Nexus One)? Hence would porting either of their ICS builds not help in development of ICS for the X10?

If I had to port wouldn't I just simply port it?
This is not a port buddy
This is compiled from Google's source repositories to work on our x10s
You are right though, porting from any msm7x30 and QSD8250 device is very easy

Sorry, maybe port was the wrong word to use. I was thinking more kernels, drivers etc.

nice to see this !!! we have a fitting successor to z here
btw have you made sources public (or intend to do so soon?)
oh btw... i can confirm that rooting through recovery works BUT rooting through flashtool doesn't work (pretty obvious i guess )
offtopic:
exams? in which grade buddy?

Thank u buddy,
The sources are not yet public,
But I will soon
first gotta fix some nasty bugs then I will surely release them...

I'm not going to bore you with some long ass intro.
DevNull is an AOSP source built ROM, it's minimal, it's superfast and mostly bugfree.
This ROM is mostly a stock AOSP build however certain Android bugs have been fixed and a couple of small mods added.
This ROM would not be possible without the excellent work from teamhacksung so consider a donation to them for the hours they put in.

Linux kernel v2.6.35.7
Minimal Google apps
Superuser

Download any file type
Enhanced auto backlight mod

Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery through whatever method you choose (ROM Manager, Power + Volume Up + Home, ADB etc...)
Back up your existing installation
[First flash only] Use the volume keys and home button to format /data & /system

Android development is a hobby for me, the Android community has been good to me and I enjoy what I do, I don't do it for any personal gain or gratification so if you like this ROM and would like to show appreciation for the time and effort me and other people have put into it then I would very much appreciate it if you could donate to the 'childhood leukaemia' charity I support, you can donate via Paypal or by card/cheque, thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks for donating if you choose to .

Does this mean that the bluetooth and wifi drivers are Google's and not Samsung's? Just cos I wanted to use a wiimote to control emulator games and get plex working.

Welcome to the Main Thread for the CM9 version of the ICX rom series. CM9 is the latest version of the highly successful CyanogenMod7. ICX is a rom series created by a team of developers which features the brand new ICE CREAM SANDWICH. The ICX rom series is currently in an alpha stage and as of such as lot of stuff doesn't work. Rest assured though we will have a fully working rom for our device hopefully before Sony release the official rom!
What works?
GSM (Calls - Texts)
Boots (Always a good thing)
Stable
Hardware Acelleration (3D + 2D)
Live Wallpaper
Google Apps
What doesn't work?
Landscape Only
Data
Touchpads
Autorotation when sliding up or down.
Camera
Bluetooth
WiFi
As you can see the rom has alot of features missing, however we will strive to fix these issues and get a fully working rom on our play!
Also I forgot, one last thing!
How to install the beast?
Very Important Instructions. If not followed correctly and you complain accept a swift death.
Ye also gonna require one of those newfangled unlocked bootloaders.
Using Flashtool flash 4.0.A.0.42
Flash the latest kernel
Boot into recovery (Keep pressing back when the boot logo shows)
Reset to Factory Settings
Mounts and storage
Mount USB Storage
Copy the latest zip to your sdcard
Back Button
Back Button
Install Zip from sdcard
Select the zip you copied to the sdcard
Wait for it to "update"
Back button
back button
Reboot Options
Reboot into system
Enjoy Ice Cream Sandwich! (Beware: First boot takes ages!)
Now where do I download it?
"One cannot download the beast until it has been tamed!" - The wise words of the late XperiaPlayerus.
Sorry but as the rom is in an alpha state, no builds are available.
However, if you are a developer and think you can help us please pm me or one of the development team (See my signature) and we can sort you out with FTP acsess.
- WARNING: NEITHER MYSELF OR ANY OF THE ICX DEVELOPMENT TEAM ACCEPT ANY RESPONSABILITY FOR YOUR DEVICE BEING BROKE DUE TO OUR ROM OR BY YOU THROWING IT OUT THE WINDOW WHEN RELEASING MOST STUFF DOESN'T WORK OR ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOUR PHONE -

Is this built off CyanogenMod source? Or did ye do an MIUI style porting job on this one?
Is there a difference between this and FXP's CM9?
Sent from R800x
How dare you work out what i did
At the moment it is a straight port from the DHD version of CM9. At a later point I will begin to compile my own versions using the DHD version as a base.
Yes there are differences. This is the DHD version of CM9 modified (really easily ) to work on our devices.
for locked bootloader too¿¿¿
no, until there is a update to 4.0 from SE it wont work on locked bootloader because of kernel
Seriously I suggest you unlock your bootloader. I wasn't sure at the beginning but once I did it I haven't gone back!

none of you except doom has to do with CM9.
but with strange spring can decorate each
@LorD ClockaN
Ah, I get it now. Ah well the more AOSP the better
@All
This isn't CM like the FXP project is. This is parts of CM9 with parts of AOSP (The proper android like on the Nexus devices..) Ie the one without bloatware and other rubbish.
@Atze_Kraut
No we are not noobish. (It's not my fault theres more than 1 thread. Well there are seperate versions...).
Also what do you mean noone except doom has to do with CM9? I ported this to work on the Xperia Play. DooMLoRD helps us with the kernels and other stuff.
Sorry I dont quite understand you.

I'm sorry but I needed it to get fixes for audio and other things
I'm learning how to program drivers and those sources would help me a lot to understand ICS framework and improve my ported ROM
But can you answer my second question if you are not ready to share incomplete sources yet?
is libaudio same for all qsd8k devices ?
@fxp
i don't know of it is right posting here (colossu's warning and all)
but i really want to request you to support frequencies upto at least 1152mhz in the kernel. (ur kernels with the cm7 releases usually had upto 1036mhz only).
1228 is not stable for all devices. but 1152 is pretty much ok for most x10 phones.
there are (and will not be in immediate future) too many kernels supporting fxp52 and above, so as of now people cannot use any other kernel other than urs with cm9, which means if your kernel supports till 1036, then then there is no way for cm9 users to overclock beyond that.

THIS PROJECT IS STOPPED
Hello all XDA-developers, this is a IceCreamSandwich port for Xperia X8 that i and Kopbem37 have made.
This rom doesnt require any customkernel and we are going to try to port all missing features in Troufinous Ice Cream Sandwich rom for stockkernel.
It works on other kernels too, but the main reason for creating this rom was to provide a Ice Cream Sandwich rom for Stockusers
This rom is not recommended for daily use yet, but we are working to fix all the errors, if you want to contribute with a fix or something else please send me a personal message.
Please read this:

Edit : I PORTED FIREFOX OS TO SMULTRON !!! (with my Viking method)
First i edited the CM9 kernel Ramdisk => init.b2g.rc and init.rc files
Second i ported the latest Keon nightly replacing libs, bulid.prop lines etc. -Basic ROM porting
I need a tester..I have smultron but it's my only phone and right now i use it alot ,i can''t play with it
So if anyone want to try and see if it works HERE IS THE ZIP (KERNEL INSIDE) -Smultron_Firefox_OS_1.zip
1.First make a backup !
2.WIPE EVERYTHING (SYSTEM,DATA,CACHE,DALVIK)
3.Install Smultron_Firefox_OS_1.zip
4.Don't blame me if anything goes wrong (theoretically only bootloop can happen but you never know )
We have :
-OFFICIAL PORTING TUTORIAL -https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Firefox_OS/Porting
-Official ICS from sony
-Stable CM9
-HVGA resolution as B2G phones
-Snapdragon S2 1Ghz
-The kernel is very similar to the stock kernel , but it has firefox os patch (need modify init.rc or something like this) I'am a Noob
-similar phones that have B2G ports like HTC EXPLORER,ZTE BLADE III ,Nexus S and others
So..why not to Xperia 2011 line? or atleast to MDPI phones ...
If a developer can port this to one of this devices then it will be very easy to make it for all MDPI
From my experience with Android i think that Firefox OS is a better OS.Why? Because is simple and fast.
On my xperia mini ST15i i tested all kinds of Roms...CM7,9,10,10.1 MIUI ,LEWA OS,stock GB,stock ICS ...all of them seems to be very resources hungry because Android is heavy.
Firefox OS:
-lightweight
-HTML5
-WebGL
-Boot in less than 6 seconds
-The small footprint of a browser based operating system means that B2G should significantly extend battery life before re-charging.
-B2G will be the first mobile OS to use Do Not Track at the operating system level.
-many more
...this is the future.

First i don't have any experiences with kernels, compiling from source ..etc.
Second i have a slow PC with limited HDD space and RAM memory
I have the computer to do it (i5 3570k) but the instructions look pretty complicated. Also my internet is cr*p. I got a 384 kbit/s connection
I am interested in trying firefox os as well. Maybe someone else has the knowledge and computer power to do it?
I've got lots of computer power (4gb ram, 1Tb hard drive) and have a small knowledge. Would be happy to do it but would like some one to help me. Also got good internet. If it is only for unlocked bootloader, I can't help you as much as I could because I have a locked bootloader.

I would love to give it a try...though im a noob(we have to start somewhere)...but my only problem is my internet! If my laptop runs on hydrogen then my ISP runs on firewood! :crying: Takes ages to download the repos but i sure would like to give it a go....
I think there are enough people to try it now so why don't we give it a go.
Sent from my WT19i using xda app-developers app
let me also join the Firefox os league though i got no good system to work on but got super Powered Internet..!

After the Firefox logo you will get black screen. It is normal. Just wait a minute, the GUI will appear. ...i read that in the HTC HD2 firefox os thread
