My SGS2 didn't boot anymore after flashing the 3.0beta7 .tar via Odin. Flashed my old kernel back and it boots again..

Nice and interesting topic matey.
Will try and report it.
But could I ask you settings for best battery life? I mean sure you can help too.

1. ICS ROMs only
2. Siyah kernel compatable.
3.try a Rom tht already uses siyah 3.0
or check gokhanmorals thread:

Test it now and report it later..thx..was searching optimal settings for extweaks..

Thank's man.
Look good here.
It's the first time i tweak my phone, but it's possible to do that without apps, just by editing a file via ssh?
I don't like GUI ^^
Thank's

Nice topic mate... I wonder where you got the idea from...

can we apply "save as boot settings" ?
and one more thing. Do we need to apply your setting in both apps i.e. extweaks and voltage control ?

First test if these settings adapt to your device using the GUI elements(VC/ExTweaks).....
test for a day or so...if all goes well....u cud go init.d

Do we need to apply your setting in both apps i.e. extweaks and voltage control ?

the ExTweaks are recommended.
VC is optional.

I have applied both but it does'nt seems any problem.
GUI has been improved and for battery let me check for a day.
Bechmark result has been decreased to 3438 as previously it was 4410 with same Siyah kernal in GS 2 with Omega V6.0 ICS black blue edition.

Benchmark is gonna give u junk values.
It conflicts with the tweaks meant for battery savings....to generate a lower value.
In Real-Time its a whole different scenario

[Q] Screen Pixelation

Need help finding an article I had read on fixing the Fascinates font pixelation. Pictures look awesome, but the fonts are a bit fuzzy, especially smaller fonts. I had read it just last week, but cannot find it in my history anywhere. Whatever they did really sharpened the fonts (at least in the screenshots). I am pretty sure it was about the Fascinate, but it may have been AMOLED in general.
Thanks in advance.

lol, I was just thinking about this. I don't think there's a voodoo kernel for the Fascinate that supports this. I would LOVE to be proven wrong though.
Yeah, I just installed a voodoo kernel and don't see any color settings, just audio via the Voodoo Control App.

Incorrect, there are a few that support this color fix. However as I recall reading, it only works at 100% brightness.

I am using jt1134's latest at 100% brightness and don't see any difference.
Now that I am on the right track though, I will just have to do a little more research.

Wow, it has been a while since I have been on my Fascinate! I think Voodoo no longer supports color tuning though. My son is using my Fascinate right now with Devil Kernel and I think it supports color tuning through an add on program. I pulled the following from the Devil Kernel thread on the Fascinate. I will also check on my sons phone tonight to see if any of these work. Good luck!

Better battery life roms for MIUI?

I just switched to Miui, and battery isn't that great so, does anyone know a better kernel for Miui!? Please help! Thanks.

Now, the MIUI rom itself comes in many varieties. From what I hear the Prime or Lithium versions of MIUI preserve battery better then stock MIUI or MIUI.us.
Kernel wise however Bali-CM 2.2.2 and Glitch v13 are your best bet. Personally I use Glitch because it is much more stable, smoother, and faster then Bali. Plus Bali is no longer being updated while Glitch is still in development. Still you should try out both and see which suits your personal taste best.
Also, remember to undervolt (in SetCPU), as that should further increase battery life without loss of performance. "Screen off" profiles in overclock apps like SetCPU also help in battery conservation.
Another thing. Don't forget that our Vibrant's screens are huge power drainers. Keeping it on a lower brightness level helps save a lot of battery.
An app that really helps battery life is called Juice Defender Plus. You should try it out! Here's an overview of the app posted by "Woodrube" (he helped me get more out of my battery life with his awesome battery wisdom) that should help you get started...
Woodrube said:
This is how the JD Plus works (no need for JD Ultimate b/c we don't have many of the functions it supports. I just copied this from another thread the OP started awhile ago and I was trying to helps him out there.
If you set it to custom, the go into the settings tab on the right and then all the way at the bottom, there is two buttons to push, The first in Interactive which will pull up Juice Defender for up for any app that isn't already configured and the other is Configure Apps. This is the one that you can customize on an app-to-app basis where if you are no using an app and the screen is locked, it kills the radio/data traffic for that app.
Say you are listening to IHeartRadio, this you would want either Enable or Enable/off (which means the screen will be locked but the radio/data will be working). Now take the browser. It you are not using the browser, then you don't need it transmitting data right? So you would set that one to Enable (which means that it will only enable data traffic when that app is being used).
Juice Defender only works when the screen is locked, don't forget and all widgets are battery drains b/c all they really are is a monitoring app and if it is tied to something like FB or G+, then that data will be running constantly.
Examples:
Gmail = Enable (not enable/off b/c then it will keep your radio/data open)
Beautiful Widgets = Enable/off
mClock/Clockr = Enable/off
Angry Birds = Disable (with this and something like Adfree, no more ads in Angry Birds even though the ads are embedded in the .apk)
SMS/MMS = Enable or Do Nothing (why would you push disable)
Enable = Radio/data on when app is in use (front)
Enable/off = Radio/data on for background apps (when screen is locked)
Disable = Disables radio/data traffic completely when that app is running
Do Nothing = What is says.
I have been using JD+ for over a year on 3 different phones and have noticed a considerable difference in battery life, even on a crappy Motorola phone. Just takes some time to figure out YOUR settings and what YOU like. I have also used it on Stock kernel and had no problems either.

Hey dude, which one should I pick from high leakage, medium leakage, or low leakage!? And what's the difference!?
Sent from my T959 using xda premium
Here is what it means straight from the OP of the Glitch thread...
4)What is Leakage (LL,ML,HL) and what one should i use?
Easy explanation: start with HL. If it allows you to OC how much you want, stay there. If not, move down until you get what you want.
For people who want more: Well, we made different leakages because koflem couldn’t OC, and he felt left out, so he started compiling on his own, which gave Tk-Glitch the idea to make three different versions. They have to do with the differences in different phones. Take for example different phones run better with different OC/UV. The leakages are the same way. They adjust the int voltages, which is something not configureable (yet) in userspace, so we have to configure them that way when we build. That way both the voltages that you are used to (the ones controllable via voltage control) are tailored to your device, as is the int voltages (the ones only we can do). Most people have no idea, but there are dozens of variables that we play with to make so that all of you can OC and UV as much as possible with as much stability as possible. Some aren't device specific, some are. We are trying to make the best experience possible for a wide range in chip quality, therefore we make different leakages, as well as making the kernel configurable via voltage control. From a stability/performance standpoint, and by extension standpoint, there is only one leakage right for your device. Different leakages aren't better in some ways for you and worse in others, there is only one good one for your device. Sorry if that didn't make sense, I tried to make it as informative as possible without it being overwhelming.

Now, first of all make sure you install v13 not v12 of Glitch. Here's a link to v13. To change the leakage in v13 do as follows...
-Boot into Recovery
-Go down to "Glitch" and select it
-Go to the Leakage section and select it
-You should be presented with High, Medium, Low
-Choose which leakage you want and reboot
If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.
Alright, I flash this kernel like I flash any other kernel right? And what are the differences between high, low and medium?
Sent from my T959 using xda premium
Flash like a normal kernel, yes.
To be straight out honest I'm not 100% positive on the differences. But from my understanding High leakage works on most Vibrants, while Low works on the few better made phones. Just start with high then try medium (which is what I use). Most likely you won't be stable on low, however, if you're stable on medium then move down to low. The more detailed answer is already posted above.
These are great suggestions but for me personally my phone won't go into deep sleep after a charge unless I reboot it, so just rebooting my phone every morning gets me to about 18 hours on a charge

IncrediControl - Easy control of voltages and kernel settings!

This app allows you to control your CPU voltages with an easy to use interface. You can increase or decrease voltages (undervolt or overvolt) for all frequencies or fine tune voltages for each individual frequency.
! HTC DEVICES !
! ROOT is Required !
! Kernel that supports HAVS or SVS voltage adjustment REQUIRED !
In addition, if you are an Incredikernel user, the app may also be used to toggle Incredikernel specific features on and off, namely USB fast charging and audio boost.
Get it over at http://www.incredikernel.com
IncrediControl is now also available in the market:
IncrediControl (If you have a dual core CPU do not use the market version until v1.5 final is released)
IncrediControl - Ad Free
Additionally, all donators are eligible to receive the Ad Free version. It doesn't matter how much or how little you donate or have donated. It might be a permissions thing. I tested on my own internal build. I'll look into it.
New beta posted that fixes compatibility with ziggy's kernels.
Thanks
Thanks for releasing app so fast Chad.
I enjoyed your work on my Incredible and I look forward to your work on the Rezound.
The app makes my life easier, and I've been tweaking it down bit by bit to see how much I can get this phone to sip.
Do you have any plans to do kernels? I'm using Ziggy's which seems to be running fine now (although i had a reboot earlier, but who knows why that happened).
I ran just your kernels religiously on my Incredible and enjoyed the performance and stability.
Regardly, thanks again for all the work you do bro.
Works great!
I would recommend for the Rezound screen size to make the buttons a tad wider. They are rather tiny on this screen and sometimes when i click the voltage adjustment button I click on the value input and go into keyboard entry mode. I have rather smaller hands so i would imaging its more annoying for bigger people.
other than that, great job.
Awesome app. I didn't know you had incorporated cpu controls into it

I get random reboots on Ziggy's no matter what governor and clock speed.
It wipes dalvik cache when it happens too.
If i do a set cpu stress test, and let it sit there, eventually the freeze/reboot happens.
Something about how it's written.

I get it random reboots too, I tried many ROMs out and i still get them. The conclusion I get from it is that we have bad chips.
Ziggy mentioned it had something to do with the cache getting corrupted. Im wondering if regularly clearing it would prevent bootloops from happening

Can I download these from my computer, transfer to my sd card and go, or do I have to boot it into recovery and go through another process, thanks in advance.

I have no idea why the v5 of this kernel makes my phone slow as ****. While the v2 works great.
I noticed two things while using the v5 kernel. First, is that when you use tap 2 wake (set on boot) and reboot you phone and keep it idle (don't touch anything) after about 10 minutes the touch screen won't work at all and you must reboot again and use the touch screen right away or you will face the same problem. Ps, the problem happens too if you idle for a long time (like when you sleep at night and you wake up to find touchscreen frozen). Second problem is that the overclocking is probably doesn't work at all. When I set it to smartass or any other the clock speed always stays at 1k while if I change it to ondemand it goes up to 1600 but the phone get slow af.

Thanks 4 pointing that.
1)This kernel is kinda old and for stock based roms.
A time corphish thought there won't be any possible overclock on spreadtrum kernel.
So,he made it and cpu_freq_driver wasn't okay then.
That's why overclock won't work.
2)V2 is the oldest version after initial release, where many things was fixed.
After than corphish imported a lot of features and stuffs and things got messed up(I guess).
3)everybody knows we sgsd users moved on to cyanogenmod 10,11 and 12 with updated selinux enabled recoveries. So,nobody cares about stock now.Coz we have real over and underclocking cpu frequency driver by psych.half in almost complete cm 11.
4)If u feel better by using stock then I suggest u to use stock mod kernel.

Yeah.
Dark, u r really right. working really fine with stock mod. Even smooth than zapdos v2. Just tweaked the low memory killer and using seeder and gerrnify boost mode (as u suggested). Now it is smoother than ever.
